So we've all heard the story of Maleficent and Aurora. But what if Maleficent had a brother named Markus who fell in love with a human girl? We'll find out in this story.

Our story starts years after Aurora got cursed by Maleficent and Markus. A girl from the village named Tiara was walking towards the forest. She didn't mean any harm to any of the creatures, she was just curious about the story of the forest and why Aurora got cursed. Tiara stopped in front of the forest because she couldn't get through the barrier of sharp thorns. She hummed and looked around for an opening not realising that someone's watching her.

Markus watched the the girl making sure that he's in the shadows out of her sight. He wasn't planning on showing himself at all. He was waiting for her to leave but it didn't look like she was going to leave. Why wasn't the girl leaving? No a better question, why was she even there? And why wasn't she trying to break the barrier and get into the forest. She didn't seem to have any weapons on her which was weird. Usually any and all humans bring weapons when they come here. She did look harmless as well. Maybe she didn't mean any harm to them?

Tiara sighed annoyed that she didn't find an entrance and was about to leave but decided against it. She felt someone watching her and looked around to see who or what it was. Did someone follow her or something like that? She definitely didn't see or hear anyone following her. She made sure that no one was following her. Tiara noticed bright green eyes glowing deep in the shadows confirming that someone was watching her. She didn't know who but she could tell from their eyes that it wasn't human.

Tiara smiled softly at the Markus and waved at them. "I'm not going to hurt you. I have no weapons" she said gently and did a slow twirl to show that she had no weapons clearly meaning no harm. "I know. I can see that" Markus said still not coming out of the shadows. "Who are you? Can you come out?" Tiara asked not walking towards Markus not wanting to force them to come out. Markus was surprised and slightly taken back by her request "Y-you want me to come out? You're not scared of me?" He asked which made Tiara chuckle and say "Why should I be afraid of you?" It looks like she genuinely was just curious about this place and wasn't like any other humans that have come near the forest. This sparked Markus's interest in her. With a sigh Markus came out of the shadows and revealed himself to Tiara. He expected her to start screaming and running away but to his surprise she didn't. Tiara looked at him in awe and wonder and gave him a gentle smile. There wasn't even a tiny spark of fear in her eyes.
