7 Madness

POV Jack

It's healing quite well, the gunshot wound on my other shoulder. That girl, private, shot me some time ago. This will leave a scar but nothing more.

Two days ago I went to see her again, I've been doing this from the day she left us. I was there when she died, I have no right to see her on her birthday but only her death day. This is what I think, that's what Shawn thinks.

Time has come to go and give my squad some training again. This is when we practice their muscles and stamina by sit ups. After that they need to learn marching with a gun.  Colonel Moon wants to see how troops are developing. Well, he sure will have a disappointment.

I grab the shirt from chair and put it on. My fingers button it up quickly and then I took my army green jacket to put it over the shirt. Once again I look at my reflection in the mirror. Looking good so far, at least on the surface.

I huff before going out. The sun is shining bright even though it's September, I had to cover my eyes a bit while I walk down the steps. My hat was left into my barrack, I didn't bother to take it with me today.

Something made me feel weird all of a sudden and I stop. I turn my head towards the entrance of the barrack where my squad is staying. My eyes widen as I saw Private Arendelle standing in the beginning of their stairs.

She's staring at me, standing there in the army suit meant to hide us in the surrounding areas. I notice how her hand lifts up and she holds her right hand over her forehead, her eyes look at me with... wait.. shit... is that some sort of pitying? The look in her eyes is sad.

Then I startle, quickly I put my hand down from my own forehead. She saluted me back. "Ease soldier," I order her and she drops her hand down. "And stop fucking staring me Arendelle," I yelled at her when I turn my back at her. I heard her shouting 'yes sir' after me. No comments from her. This is new.

Private Arendelle ran past me. The sight made me sigh loudly. She's running late today as usual. Women always take their time to get ready. If Colonel Moon would check out the list which I made of the cons of women in the army he would sent them all away.

"No time for stupid formalties!" I shouted on top of my lungs. They were already forming a line when they saw me getting   close. "Run couple rounds and then get your sorry asses here," I yelled. They started running and I used the time to get the guns. They should try weapon marching soon,  Colonel Moon wants to see new troops performing some sort of presentation. Useless and total waste of time in my opinion.

Last one of them to arrive was Haddock. He looks at the guns in disgust. "Everyone grab one, we will try gun marching," I told them as I took one. I place it against my shoulder.

"You all hopefully know that we have half  step march. Our step is just 15 inches so follow after me and I don't want to see any screwing up on this one," I shouted as I began to show the steps to them. Nice they got the idea. Even that Arendelle, well. Maybe she has done catwalk so she knows how to walk. I glance at her, she's actually doing quite fine but let's see how she'll manage when we start to take our guns into the march as well. Her walking is uh, kind of swaying.

Shit.

I turn my head back to the direction where we're walking. It's the running course in the base. My heart is beating inside my chest oddly even though I'm not that exhausted from the walk. It's like I'm about to have a heart attack but that's not the case.

"Now start to move your guns from shoulder to front and against your chest. At one point you need to throw them to air. Just don't screw up and follow my lead!" I shouted.

I showed them how to do it and I heard curses behind me. Yeah, it's not that easy how it looks. I pause our marching and I turn around.

"Alright one more time when we're standing still. Try it after me," I told them and they all were terrified looking. I sigh and look at them. From the left to right are Fitzherbert, Hamada, Haddock and Arendelle.

Then it was their turn, it went quite well with everyone gladly because it's really annoying to show same thing tons of times. Suddenly there was an explosion at bomb practice place and I glance there.

Unfortunately my squad were just now throwing their weapons in the air. "OH GOD!" Haddock shouted as the backs of the guns hit on the ground.

"Those are loaded!" I yell quickly. Fuck I forgot them to make sure that the safety is on.

I cut the air with my hand when the loud bangs were heard at two of four guns. They duck down and I watch how a wall of clear ice forms in front of them. I'm standing my legs wide, panting and staring at them with my hand still in front of me after I used my power to create the wall.

"You idiots are safe," I yell to them as I return to stand like I should.

"W-what happened?" Hamada asks and touches the ice.

"Fitzherberts and Arendelle's guns fired," I told them as I picked up each of the rifles from ground.

"None of these have safety on. None. You should ALWAYS check your guns without saying." I hiss to them while I slam my fist to the ice. It shattered into blocks of ice in front of them. The ice had stopped the bullets from hitting to Fitzherbert and Haddock where Arendelle's rifle's shot was going forward.

I notice how Private Arendelle is staring at me, her cheeks are flushing and she seems anxious over something.

"Where did this ice come from Captain?" Haddock questioned.

I sigh, rubbing my temples. It looks like the time has come.

"You imbeciles, maybe I need to tell you who exactly I am," I glare at them angrily, making them to step back a little bit.

"My name is Jackson Overland, you call me Captain Frost for reason. My specialty is—," I tell them while I created snowflake floating in the air, "—control over ice, snow and wind which I can create from will. I was born this way, the day  I was born was the day when I died. They brought me back from the dead. My father, Colonel Moon, was before me known as Colonel Jack Frost. "

"That's so weird," Private Hamada gulped and I glare at him.

"Does Private Hamada have a question?" I shouted. He shook his head but then I saw Private Arendelle lifting her hand up.

"Captain. Those powers... what do you think of them?" She asked carefully.

"Fuck, they are not the only thing in me. I'm also former member of the Guardians, a special army force team. You can't find a better sniper or bomb dog trainer in this army base. And what comes to you... I guess you didn't throw that much of pompoms at cheer leading team in your high school. Did you? Because you managed to drop your rifle Miss Arendelle," I snap at her. This is all info I will give her, in any way she will be kicked out soon.

"But you didn't answer to my question and I didn't go to public school. I was homeschooled so no cheerleading for me," she insisted.

I groan loudly, "Why the fuck did you even join into the army? You can't even handle a weapon and you clearly lack in many things."

"I want to help people. I've told it before, sir," she replied. Her voice shivered now.

"Then you should have joined into human aid services or something else that's so pathetic lady," I shouted at her face.

She begun to whisper so quietly that I barely heard her. "That's what Shawn said."

Shawn?

I stare at Private Arendelle. "Are you fucking messing with me?" I yelled at her. No, she can't possibly know my brother.

"No! I think that army needs good people," Private Arendelle spoke. "Unlike you," I heard her mumbling.

"Unlike me?" I hissed. I could see the guys near her getting further away.

"Oh god I said it aloud," Private Arendelle gulped. Now her secure ways had turned into panic. Good.

"You have some nerves. Since you dislike me that much – which is not as much as I dislike you may I add- I'm gonna give you a chance to beat me up," I told her. "If you can that is," I grinned.

She looks at her squad mates who are clearly shaking their heads for not to do it.

"Never assault superior officer," Private Haddock whispered to her so loudly that I was able to hear it.

"Only trouble will be the beating you will get Private Arendelle. Let's say we're equals now," I told her while I took my jacket with my badges off. She flinched when I threw my jacket in front of her.

"F-fine," Private Arendelle mumbled. She took her coat off and stood before me with just her white t-shirt and pants on.

"Yeah, well. Where's the first punch?" I ask while crossing my arms. I've seen her learning to fight with Fa Mulan. Private is doing quite alright for being a woman so I need to take this somewhat seriously.

I watch how she gets ready and then approaches me. Her first swing was insecure and easy to dodge. Her eyes narrowed suddenly and she gritted her teeth together.

"Everyone else get back to your barrack. This is her fight," I ordered when I let one of her hits hit on my right arm.

The guys left with dissatisfied groan sounds. I glance back at Private Arendelle who immediately attacks. She fooled me and managed to hit me to my left shoulder. It made me yell from pain as it went straight into the old gunshot wound. I'm gasping for breath and my forehead is sweating. I glare at her and she seems to be in shock.

I grit my teeth together and I stand up straight again after holding my shoulder. "The time you shot me," I explained to her and she nodded her head.

"Captain I didn't mean to shoot you, well I did but I wasn't thinking clearly. Can I help? Maybe we should get you to hos—," she started to speak. Gosh girls are so keen to chat and lose their focus so easily.

"Don't fucking speak but fight," I yelled as I attacked at her. She didn't have time to react as I slam my fist on her stomach, making her whimper. Immediately I kicked her off from her feet, making her fall to ground. I grab her arms and pin her against the ground. I lock her legs under my  legs, making her look like a starfish laying on the ground.

"How are you this stupid? Has too much of hair spray destroyed your brain?" I growl at her. I slap her cheek quickly with open hand and it made her sob. She is holding her cheek, trying to break free while I'm still holding her other hand and feet down.

Her eyes fill with tears and a breeze blows around us, making the first fallen leaves of trees circle around us. "C-captain, it hurts," she whispers and my hand squeezes her wrist harder.

'Jack it hurts.'

My eyes widen and I look around us in misbelieve. Did I just hear correctly. I was about to ask from Private Arendelle if she heard it too. I look back at her, only to see war brown tear filled eyes looking back at me, how a black circle is around the other eye. Stained brown shoulder length hair.

'Jack...' Emma cried again, her lip is cut and I'm just staring at her. 'Do it or they will...'

I can't speak. I'm sitting over her, thinking that I can't do it. I lift my head up and look around. That laughter is back, that voice that makes my blood freeze whenever I hear it. It's so dark, so cold. Only the sound of dripping water is coming from somewhere. She starts to squirm and I look back at her. 'Jack do it.'

The squirming gets worse and my body feels soaking wet. I'm breathing heavily, shocked of what I have to do or everything is lost.

I was about to tell her that I can't when something broke the muffling wall around my consciousness.

"Captain!"

Suddenly the image of Emma was flickering and I blink my eyes. From time to time her eyes were crystal blue and then again brown. Then I was staring at a platinum haired blonde with crystal blue eyes. She was confused. Moment later I realized that I'm laying over Private Arendelle while it's raining. Slowly I stood up, without saying anything. Then I told her to leave.

I watch how Private Arendelle grabs her coat and runs towards barracks. When she left I let my shoulders drop and I took my jacket. My shirt is sticking against my skin as I walk forward, my head is still woozy as I walk. My stomach is twisting inside out and I took support from nearest tree.

The feeling of being sick got over me and I found myself throwing up. I wipe my mouth out quickly with my shaking hand. Why on all moments that haunting memory returned to me? Fuck, I'm not this weak. I just can't be.

POV Toothiana

"You are really good at this Punz!" Private Hofferson complimented private Corona who was nearly at the top.

"Well done Private Corona!" I cheered and clapped my hands together when she got on the top of the wall. She used the rope to help her jump down. She had tied up her blonde hair into thick braid. I wonder how it is used when needed. Colonel Moon said that private Corona's hair should not be harmed in any case. Which is why I for some reason know that her secret ability is the hair.

Private Tomago and DunBroch did also well on the rope climbing wall and ran the course great after that. Well I heard some dissatisfied sounds when Private Tomago ran past everyone on mud pool, making mud splash on everyone when she ran over the floating barrels.

"Thank you everyone. Now you can go and take warm showers! Next week we will train again your shooting skills. Have a relaxing home weekend," I tell to them. "Dismiss," I giggle and turn around to go to the wall and wrap up the rope.

"Captain Toothiana?" One of the privates asked for me and when I turn around I saw Private Corona with Dunbroch.

"Yes?" I question while I put down the rope.

"We were wondering mam, our friend Private Arendelle is on Captain Frost's team," Private Corona sighed.

I cross my arms and sigh, "Well I can't take her to my team if that is what you ask."

"No!" Private Corona gasped. "What I meant to say is—," she continued but Private DunBroch paused her.

"We would like you to speak with Captain Frost. He treats our friend badly and hurtfully. It's not right," Private DunBroch mumbled.

So Jack is treating her badly. "Are you sure that it isn't normal superior-private behavior?" I questioned.

"It's different. He thinks she is terrible because she's a woman. Mam," Private Corona replied.

"Alright. I will speak with him," I mumbled back. So he is again being harsh on girls. Usually he has been giving angry glares at my squad members. This year there were just too many girls joining into military with special talents so we had to do a bit of mixed up teams. Colonel Moon thought that it would be good for his son to interact with women for now.

"Thank you mam!" Private Corona cheered. I gave them both permission to leave.

I exhale deeply and I correct my green jacket on me. Now just towards Jack's barrack.

When I got into his squad barrack area Jack was coming out from the barrack where they take showers, have bathrooms and such.

"Jack!" I shout at him. He turns around and smiles faintly. He looks paler than normally.

"Hey Tooth," he greeted me and walks over.

"What brought you to my kingdom?" He laughed a bit.

"Could we go into your barrack? I need to speak with you," I replied to him strictly. He nodded his head and that smile faded away.

Once we got in I closed the door behind us. His place was as neat as it ever was.

"What you wanted to speak about?" He said as he sat on his chair. He lifted his other leg over other and crossed arms, leaning back. Great he is already refusing.

"Private Arendelle, I think that you're too strict with her," I hummed.

Jack rolled his eyes. "I am not. Don't you mess with my stuff," Jack shouted at me.

"Jack, you're too harsh for women. We can do many things that others can. Just give her a chance, will you?" I tried to say.

"It's Captain Frost," Jack replied coldly and glared at me. "Get the hell out Captain Tooth," he hissed and pointed at the door. Well I got him mad to me too.

"But," I tried to say.

"Get the hell out from my barrack or you will be kicked out from the military with that useless Private Arendelle," Jack yelled and stood up fast, making his chair knock down.

I go out quickly.

"Agh he is so stubborn!" I groaned when I was walking towards education barrack. There we teach the basic information you need in the military for our future troops.

I wait behind the door and soon some Private's come out. There was Private Guy Guy, Pocahontas Indiana, Alice Wonderland and Gaston LeGume. Finally Captain Bunny walks out.

"Aster!" I call him and he startles.

"Crikey mate! Wat is wron'?" Bunny gulped. (A/N: I have noooo idea how to do aussi accent)

"Jack!" I groan and clench my hands into fists. Bunnymund laughs and nods towards the 'class' room.

"Frosty pants, aye?  He's causin' hevoc egain?" Bunny grinned as we close the door.

"Yes. He doesn't listen at all," I sigh and start to explain what happened earlier today. Bunnymund listened and  nodded his head. We both knew that ever since Jack came back he hasn't been the same. His old self is just a faint memory in our minds. We were hoping that time might fix it but now we might have to do something more to help him.

POV Elsa

Time for a shower before weekend starts. Anna would come and pick me up in an hour. We just had dinner and now the showers should be free. At least that is what the guys promised.

The rain has ended finally and I can walk past the muddy puddles.

I heard a loud bang all of a sudden and then a blood stopping shout. "PRIVATE ARENDELLE!" The voice was really filled with anger and it made me nervous.

"Fucking turn around bitch!" The same voice shouted again. My body shivers as I turn around. I saw Captain Frost nearly running towards me, his steps were fast and fierce.

"C-captain?" I mumbled. His eyes were cold and mad.

"So you go and speak with other Captains? How dare you! You're fucking out of place and not honoring your own superior. IF YOU HAVE A SHITTY PROBLEM SPEAK WITH ME!" Captain Frost yelled at me. He lifted his hand up and I gasp when he was aiming a hit with his fist towards my face.

He hit me.

I'm holding my cheek which is like needles are stinging against it. I'm staring at him with wide eyes. He is breathing heavily and staring at me. He had opened up the fist, hitting me with his open hand.

"You are nothing," he hissed and left. I use the opportunity to run at the showers. There was no one seeing what happened. Just the two of us. He really hates me. And I haven't told anyone else besides my friends of how he treats me. Maybe they spoke to their captain?

At the shower I'm sobbing silently while warm water is washing away my tears. No he has one more reason to hate me.

I sigh as I turn the tab off. It feels a little better but now I know that things might have gone to worse. "Maybe I should quit?" I mumbled.

Then I remember, to quit wasn't the reason why  I joined in the first place.

I wanted to explore the world, show what I really am and not to be afraid anymore. He can't break me down. I won't let him.

I didn't spent all those years alone in my parent's mansion. I didn't let my little sister grow up without big sister or parents because I would quit now. Anna helped me to find out who I am and to trust myself, to regain control over myself.

"If you can be cold Captain," I whispered. "—so can I," I laughed as I froze the mirror that was blurry because of the water drops.

I felt really happy when I had got myself ready and I waited for Anna to pick me up from the base. Soon she drove there with her red car. She waved her hand and  I wave back. I wore a pair of jeans and blue shirt.

"Elsa! I missed you!" Anna laughed as she hugged me. I embraced her back.

"I missed you too Anna," I whispered.

When we parted she looks at me weirdly.

"Why is your cheek so red?" She questioned. My eyes flash wide and I touch my cheek. It still feels warm.

I sigh, "The Captain."

"That asshole! He is still a jerk?" Anna gulped. I nod my head,I've been telling Anna how he treats me. I even told her that I suspected his behavior being like that because of his sister but now I'm doubting it.

"Sometimes I just think that I should quit," I hummed after we had driven few miles out from the base.

"No! You shouldn't give up because of some idiotic guy. I mean, remember how I punched Hans after your coming to age ceremony?" Anna laughed. I smile to her faintly.

"Yes," I laugh.

"That's what he get's when messing with Arendelle's," Anna winked her eye.

"Eyes on the road, please," I gasped and we both began to laugh.

"So how is Kristoff?" I ask cunningly.

"Really good actually. Hey! I have a crazy idea!" Anna cheered.

My heart began to beat nervously. "Uh... For some reason I have a bad idea," I mumbled.

"So he thinks that making you feel hurt will get you out from the army? Right?" Anna said. Okay so he is thinking the Captain again.

"Y-yes?" I questioned.

"So do something that will blow his mind off! Like something that won't make sense to him. Like... uh," Anna started wondering.

"Like what?" I laughed. Knowing Anna it might be anything.

"Well whenever he is an asshole you should give him a big hug! Maybe that will soften his heart. Everyone likes warm hugs and they make you feel better. Maybe he is just some frozen citron fruit?" Anna grinned.

"He might kill me," I mumbled.

"Just try it. Freeze his ass if necessary and trust me, I will personally beat him soon if he continues treating you like that," Anna told me.

"Okay. I will give it a shot," I groaned. However I will only do it when I see him alone. Directly after his verbal or physical assaults might be too dangerous, I mean he might get really mad if someone else sees me doing something like that.

I glance at Anna. She's now singing a song from radio happily. Seeing her has always cheered me up. It's nice that we can be together again.

It's clearly autumn already when I look outside from car window. Carefully I tuck a hairstrand behind my ear after I had opened up the tight bun over my head. Now my hair was resting against my shoulder on loose French braid.

The more I think of it, the more it makes sense. Maybe all that Captain needs is some hugs? Maybe he feels alone like I did? Or that might be a good reason for him to kill me. I'm going to try at least.
