5 Strength of Soldier

POV Hiro

I stare at the training field. This time it looks different. There is a line of big car tires and I assume that we need to run over them. After them is a start and finish line drawn to ground but I don't know what it's for. Maybe we have to race?

The summer is closing to end and there's raining lightly. Just few drops of water which cools us down nicely.

"Hamada and Arendelle. Haddock and Fitzherbert. First you run through this obstacle," Captain Frost pointed at tires. "You better not miss any, your feet must go inside each tire," he explained.

Elsa raised her hand while standing next to me. "Captain. You cannot mean that we need to jump from tire to tire?" Elsa questioned.

"NO! Are you fucking dump! You run this through. Fuck, do I have to show everything to young blondie," he yelled and went in the beginning of the obstacle course. We watch how he runs through it, there's two lines of tires. He runs without stumbling to any of the tires.

"See! Not so hard huh!" Captain Frost panted out loud. Elsa's face was deep red.

"After running this through you will carry your partner from start line to finish line on your backs," Captain Frost said while catching his breath.

"Arendelle and Hiro shall do this first," Captain hissed and stands back straight.

I go in front of the tire obstacle. I start to run but my feet got stuck in the first tire and I fell over the rest.

"Get up and continue!" Captain Frost ordered. I push myself back up and I ran the rest. This time I lifted my feet more.

"Next up is the little lady," Captain Frost grinned deviously. Elsa locks her eyes with the Captain's and starts to run.

She was really fast and light on her steps. This was easy for her.

"GREAT JOB ELSA!" I cheered her and we high fived quickly. Elsa was laughing happily.

"Average," Captain Frost huffed. Then we waited for Hiccup and Eugene.

"First ones to carry their partners are Arendelle and Fitzherbert. Lets see which one wins," Captain Frost smirked and looks at us. I glance at Elsa.

"You can do it," I smile to Elsa as I lay down on the ground. I glance at Hiccup who is laying opposite to me.

"One, two, three CARRY!" Captain Frost shouted and Elsa kneels next to me. She places my arm over her shoulder and starts to lift me up. We fell all of a sudden.

I look at Hiccup and Eugene. Eugene is already carrying Hiccup close to finish line.

"C'mon Elsa! You can do this," I whisper to her as she tries again.

Oh why did I eat that big breakfast today.

"ARENDELLE!" Captain Frost roared. Elsa dropped me when she startled Captain's angry shout. I get up and I stand next to Elsa.

"I fucking gave you the smallest man in our team to carry and you failed! Do you really think that you suit into army?" Captain shouted close to Elsa's face. Elsa was trying her best to remain calm.

"She tried sir," I spoke aloud and Captain glared at me.

"TRYING IS NOT ENOUGH!! If you just fucking try your team mate will be left dying on the field with severe wounds. You need strength and will power to get their sorry asses up so you could carry them to safety," Captain Frost yelled and I saw how furious he was.

"B-but I.. I'm still in training," Elsa tried to explain and Captain laughed at her. I saw how her eyes filled with tears.

"Yeah so start taking it seriously. You almost drowned a while back. You are a loser blondie, nothing more. Get the fuck out from my sight," he said bitterly.

"No I won't. Sir," Elsa said bravely.

"Your family will be disappointed in you. When you return an say that you are a misfit, worth nothing," Captain Frost said coldly.

"That's not necessary Captain," I said quickly.

"SHUT THE FUCK UP PRIVATE!" Captain shouted at me and I startle, taking a step back. I glance at his hand which is now squeezed into fist. I was sure that he was about to hit me.

Elsa stares at the Captain. Her body is shivering and I feel bad for her, a tear runs down on her cheek which Captain notices.

"Aww... is little girl crying? How cute," Captain mocked at her and turned his back at her, telling her to leave. He told everyone to dismiss as he was walking away.

"I dare you."

We heard Elsa's voice. It was dry and emotionless but something in it caught our ear. We turn around and so did our Captain.

"What?" Captain Frost laughed.

"I dare you to carry someone, sir," Elsa shouted aloud. Tears streamed down on her face.

"I carried you to hospital barrack. Have you forgotten that, lady?" Captain Frost said while standing with his legs spread. He crossed his arms and stared at her.

"Carry someone much heavier than any of us. If you are so good," Elsa's voice was bitter and deep. It didn't crack even though she was crying.

"Fine," Captain hummed and called someone with his radio phone. "Get here North," he spoke and glanced at Elsa. She dried her eyes to her sleeve.

Few moments later we see how Captain North arrives. He is a really big man, specialized into martial arts.

"What is it Frosty?" Captain North asked.

"I'm gonna carry you," Captain Frost said and told him to lay on ground.

Captain North started to laugh and rubbed his beard. "You are too bony Jack. You can't," Captain North chuckled. I glance at other's and I notice how victorious Elsa is looking.

"I can. Just lay behind the starting line. These idiots think that I'm just speaking nonsense," Captain Frost hissed. We see how Captain North sighs and lays on the ground.

"Get to stand on the grass and keep distance," Captain Frost ordered and we ran out from the training field. Elsa crossed her arms and stares at the Captains.

"What the heck are you guys doing?" I heard GoGo's voice. I look over my shoulder and I see her in her civilian outfit.

"Oh, hi. You got to free weekend already? We're still watching this presentation," I greeted.

"What presentation?" GoGo whispered. I nod towards the training field where Captain Frost kneels down next to Captain North. He throws his arm over his shoulder and says something.

"No! I'm not gonna lay off with the cakes!" Captain North laughed aloud and I saw Captain Frost laughing with him.

My jaw dropped when Captain Frost started lifting large sized Captain North. We heard how Captain Frost gasped when North's weight was fully on his shoulders. I notice how Elsa's arms drop when Captain Frost starts to walk towards the finish line slowly.

Captain Frost concentrates and almost lost his balance. He got his composure back and he continues. I heard how he was catching his breath when he paused for a moment.

Then they crossed the finish line and applauses were coming around us. Some other squads had come to see this 'presentation' that was going on and now they cheered Captain Frost. Our squad was quiet though.

"AS YOU CAN SEE!" Captain Frost shouted. "You never abandon another soldier!" Captain Frost yelled and let Captain North down on his feet. Everyone was now leaving and chatting about what happened.

Captain North patted our Captain's shoulder and left.

"He is not okay," Elsa whispered and I barely saw how Captain Frost collapsed down on the ground. We ran to him and he is breathing heavily on the ground.

"Get the fuck out," Captain Frost stuttered. Elsa tried to kneel down next to him, asking if he is alright. "GET OFF! DISMISS!" Captain yelled and we all backed up. We left and we saw how Captain Frost sat on the ground, getting up slowly.

"Man he is harsh," Eugene sighed.

"Yup but strong as hell," GoGo whistled. She had stayed with us.

"Don't say that you like him," I sigh.

"No, I like someone else," she smirked and elbowed me. I roll my eyes. Her bike at home is everything  to her.

Elsa was walking behind us. She seems sad  and depressed.

"Hey, I would appreciate if you girls could take Elsa out. You know, chat girls stuff. She seems miserable," I nod behind us and GoGo glances back.

"She does. Fine, we will take her out like we were planning in either way. He still treats you guys like crap?" GoGo asked while speaking clearly about our Captain.

"He does but Elsa has been dealing most of the crap. Sometimes I really think that she's too brave saying against our Captain. She begs for trouble," I sigh aloud.

"But that's good! Girls need to show how good they are," GoGo cheered and ran behind me. I notice how she goes to speak with Elsa. It's good because I really don't get all the girly stuff but I know when someone is hurting in the inside. I have some personal experience of being hurt.

This weekend I'm going to meet my aunt and visit the cemetery. It's time to go and tell my brother how I'm doing in the military training. This he used to love. He was the smartest person in here once and now he is gone.

I really miss him.

"Dude! What's on your mind!" Hiccup ran to me and placed his arm over my shoulder.

"Nothing much," I smile faintly back.

POV Elsa

Girls night out seems always like a good option when something is really getting you mad. I mean, how often you get laughed at on daily basis by your superior? I'm his personal source of amusement.

Now I'm just staring at my drink. We're again at the bar which is popular among people who train to be in the army. Sometimes I wish that I could just leave but I won't satisfy him like that, quitting like some loser.

"So what's the plan to beat up that asshole captain?" GoGo laughed and I startle.

"That sounds actually quite good. You should beat Captain Frost in something Elsa. Show him that girl's can do something better than guys!" Merida cheered and drank some of her beer. We were having a free weekend again and enjoying it.

"How? He doesn't even seem like human," I said aloud.

"Sure he is a human. And a man? How about just ripping his heart out from his chest and make him eat it?" Merida laughed.

"Umm.. that's rather cruel Mer," Punzie whispered and glances at me. "Or just make him fall in love with you and break his heart. That does the trick?" Punzie smiles faintly and I shake my head.

"He hates women. Don't you guys get it? Besides that Haddock kid is really proving to be a great soldier even though he himself doesn't see it. Captain does. Maybe he is gay?" I laughed aloud and the girls around me started laughing too.

"I still say that you just beat him up. Train yourself and show him who you are? You seem stronger than you let everyone see?" GoGo grinned and I look back at my glass.

"Well... uh," I mumbled and I see how the glass starts to freeze. I clear my throat and get control back again. For my relief the ice melted and I sigh.

"My idol, Fa Mulan, she actually is really good soldier. Better than many men. She is teaching some hand to hand combar and I guess that she could show you some moves. Then you just challenge Captain Frost and throw him to ground. Perfect!" Merida cheered and I stare at her.

"Challenge him?" I whisper in shock.

"Yeah! Then he won't call you as miss anymore. Aren't you pissed about that?" Merida questioned and I nod my head slowly. Goodbye to the girl's fun night out.

"I'm still not sure," I hesitated.

"You don't have to do things that you're not comfortable doing," Punzie giggled.

"Heck she does! We're in the army and we need to have balls!" Merida cheered and stand up. Punzie and I pull her back to sit.

"Merida is right Elsa," GoGo sighs and crosses her arms.

"Let's just have some fun. Okay?" I mumble and I drink my glass empty. It burns my throat on its way down.

"Fun? How about a new edition of truth and dare?" Merida laughed. Soon they all agreed and I promised to play it too. However the rule was that we could only take dares. Nice.

I watch how Punzie drinks five shots after being dared. She laughs after last one and GoGo pats her back. Before that Merida had sang national anthem aloud. It was quite funny.

Me? Well I try my best to be unnoticed so they wouldn't dare me. My eyes wander around the pub. It's your typical men's escape with heavy looking red fabrics, dark wood. Then I notice that in the furthest corner there's a guy sitting alone in his bench. He is holding a beer and his face I can't see because he has a hood over his head.

"Elsa... I'm gonna dare you," Punzie whispers and leans over table. I gather my pose after staring at the guy with weird feeling.

"Punz, nothing stupid. Please?" I smile my best puppy dog smile and she grins. Merida and GoGo whisper something to her. Why she has to be drunk! This is bad.

"I dare you to offer a drink to that guy. When Shawn, the handsome pianist, plays the piano again and something slow. Then you ask that hooded guy for a dance. That's your dare," Punzie giggled. My eyes widen.

"He is a stranger," I insisted. "He might be a rapist or something worse," I whisper and the girls giggle.

"Good practice of self defense coming up then?" GoGo chuckled and I sigh. I go to the bar and I ask the man to take a drink to the guy with a hoodie.

I stare as the drink is brought to him. He didn't even now put his hood down, I just see him chatting with the barman who gave the drink. My heart paused for a moment when I saw him pouring the drink down his throat with one go.

"No, no, no," I mumble to myself when I see Punzie tiptoeing to the DJ. She whispers something to him and the music paused. Now I see how they ask Shawn to play the piano. I want to die, seriously. I'm still resting my back against the bar counter while I listen to the first sounds of the piano.

The music is beautiful and now I notice how the stranger is about to leave.

"Craaaap," I say quietly as I rush after him.

"Umm... hey," I whisper and the man startles as I grab to his arm. He turns around and stands tall. I can smell the alcohol in his breath. He shakes his arm free.

"I offered you a drink. Would you dance with me?" I whisper. He laughed once, it was blank and cold. I see how he turns around.

"Please, my friends dared me. Just this one dance," I begged. He ignored me and started walking. Quickly I grab to his arm again and I pull him back.

"Listen, jerk, you will dance with me or I'm kicking you to balls," I said so angrily that it frightened me.

I startle and let go of him when he turns around sharply. In shock I watch how he bows to me and then he places my hand on his shoulder. His hand felt weird on my waist and then he took my free hand. He was leading us during the dance. My heart was beating wildly. I'm dancing with a stranger.

Slowly I rest my head against his chest and I hear his heartbeat.

Who are you.

I wondered when I closed my eyes. Something about him calms me down. The piano playing on the background feels soothing also. Suddenly he pauses as the music ends. He lets go and I lift my face up.

I reach to his hood, I want to see him desperately. He grabs to my hand, he squeezes my wrist painfully and shakes his head. The DJ is playing music again. I've done the dare but I don't want to go anywhere from this little corner where I met him.

Moment later his hand was again on my waist and traveling up on my back. He pushes me against wall, away from sight. This stranger is now overpowering me and I'm letting him.

I feel how he continues kissing my neck and then my chin. I close my eyes when I feel his breathing against my lips.

"Kiss me," I whisper. He pulls away and I touch his hand quickly. I feel his fingers squeezing mine for a moment but he shakes his head again, saying nothing.

He stumbles as he rushes towards the door. I go after him but then I hear a yell above the music.

"YOU! GET THE FUCK OUT FROM HERE!"

I startle and when I turn around I see Shawn barging towards the stranger with whom I just danced. In slow motion I watch how the stranger turns around and prepares for the impact. Shawn is shouting insults and hits his fist on the stranger's stomach.

I gasp and hold my hand to cover my mouth. They are struggling on the ground. Shawn is giving the stranger punches and I see how the stranger covers his hooded head.

"Shawn! Calm down," I tell to him and I try to separate them. Suddenly I saw how the stranger grabbed onto Shawn's leg when he was about to kick him. He pulls him down and jumps up. Shawn manages to get up as well and tries to punch the stranger again.

I took some steps back. Now the stranger was in upper hand as Shawn was full of rage. The stranger dodged his hits easily while Shawn tried to hit his hooded head.

"Bastard! Drunk! Stop moving," Shawn yelled and now tried to hit the stranger to his gut. Quickly he dodged and managed to hit Shawn.

I watch in shock how the stranger slams his fist in the middle of Shawn's face. He knocked him out.

"Whatta heck is going on!"Merida yelled as she ran to me. There were tables and chairs scattered around because of the battle. I notice how the bartender is dialing and calling our base's soldier police officers.

While we were still stunned the stranger had limped his way to the door. I saw him holding his side where Shawn had managed to hit him couple times. He spits blood to floor before going out. I glance at Shawn who is still passed out, his knuckles are scratched and the area around his eye is swelling.

"Shawn can sometimes explode when he sees that hooded guy around," DJ Flounder said as he came to me. Flounder was wearing a blue cap and yellow jogging suit kind of thing.

"Sure looks like it," Merida groaned. Punzie and GoGo were collecting some of the chairs around Shawn and putting them back.

"I won't get off until the place is closed. There's lots of people partying. Mind getting him home?" Flounder asks nervously.

"No," Merida replies.

"I'm too drunk to go anywhere besides bed," Punzie mumbled.

"I can take him. What's his address?" I asked.

"I will help you. He is kinda drowsy looking, "GoGo hummed and helped me get Shawn up. Flounder told us his home address. He doesn't live faraway for our relief.

"What... where am I?" Shawn whispered. He was finally coming to his senses.

"We're taking you home. You got into fight," I told him.

"I guess I did," he laughed and let go of us. He stumbled on his steps and I quickly grab on to him again. He leans some of his body weight against me.

"I guess you two can manage. I'm going back to the bar," GoGo cheered and left before I could say anything. I groan and help him to the driveway leading to his house.

There's some light coming from the houses window.

"Wife waiting?" I whisper and he shook his head.

"Mom. Mom is at home," he says quietly. We walk up some stairs and I see how he digs his keys out of his pocket.

"Mind explaining me why—," I asked but suddenly I heard womans voice. She was calling Shawn's name and ran to him. Shawn turns his cheek at her.

"Mom I'm fine," he smiles and let's go of me.

"You're beaten up," she whispers.

"Yeah so is the asshole. Mom, here is...uh," Shawn glances at me.

"Elsa Arendelle," I introduced myself and gave my hand to his mother.

"Sarah," she smiles and takes my hand. "Thank you for bringing him home, he has a bad temper sometimes," she sighs. I laugh a bit when I saw Shawn shrugging and smiling slyly. His mother slapped at his chest and shook her head.

"Come in. I will make you some tea and Shawn, you better go and clean yourself up," Sarah told him.

I follow Sarah inside their home. Shaw runs upstairs, telling me that he will be back soon. Sarah left me to living room and I look around. It's like normal family room with a couch and pictures hanging on the walls.

There's one picture over fireplace which caught my eye. There's a picture of kids and I go to look at it. I wonder what he looked like as a child, one of them must be Shawn.

In the picture there's couple boys and a little girl. They're building a snowman together. Shawn is lifting the head with another boy, possibly his age. I snatch the frame to my hands and I look at it closely. My eyes widen when I saw how the other boy looks like. I feel like my breath escaped from me.

"I see that you found a picture of my children?" Sarah says friendly as she sits on couch.

"W-who is this other boy? With Shawn?" I whisper and stare at the picture.

"That's only picture which Shawn didn't destroy where Jackson is," Sarah says sadly for some reason.

My hands start to shake. "J-Jackson?" I gulped as I stare at the blue eyed and white haired boy.

"Yes, Jackson, Shawn's twin. They used to be really close," she told me.

"What happened?" I ask and I place the frame down at the table.

"Jackson went to army. Shawn continued with music, funny though. He is the only one in the family who didn't join in military," Sarah said and her voice cracked. I decide to leave the matter be. It seems painful to her for some reason.

Shawn came downstairs and I saw him staring at the picture. "Why is that picture in the table?" He whispers and lifts it back to the fire place.

"Your friend saw it," Sarah said quietly and went to get the tea.

"My brother and I have some differences," Shawn smiles as he sat next to me. He was wearing a gray t-shirt and black pants.

"Oh, I see," I said aloud. Somehow I am not even amazed because Captain Frost is a jerk. No wonder even his brother dislikes him.

"Yeah. Well you are a singer? Why would you join into the military?" Shawn questioned.

"I'm not a singer. I sing for fun only and I joined because I thought that I might actually help someone," I sigh. Maybe I can't help anyone if Captain Frost will kick me out. He sure seems determined on the matter.

"Charity is helping. In the army you risk your own life," Shawn hummed and crossed his arms. He stares at the floor. I glance at him and I see a piano that they have in their living room.

"I want to keep people safe and be right in the place where the action happen," I reply to him.

"Alright," Shawn hummed as his mother brought the tea. We drank while chatting.

Shawn is really different from his brother. Really funny and kind, their mother is also really nice. I never thought that I could feel comfortable in my Captain's birth home. This is not at all something that I would have expected.

Suddenly I realize. He had this kind of family and yet he is really cruel. There's really something wrong in him.
