A/N:

Previous chapter "Anger" was a oneshot which had nothing to do with "Private and the Captain". It was my way of dealing with things, through writing.

POV Hiccup

It feels great to be alive with everyone. We were out from the base and action when our main base was attacked. However now we have this nice and cozy base at Captain North's home.

Now that everyone is back in shape after our mission in Corona I feel much better. Even though better would be to have no wars at all. Maybe I'll run out to be the President of Berk some day so I can use my verbal skills more than the language of the weapons?

"Hiccup, what are you thinking?" Astrid smiled and sat next to me. She handed me a cup of juice which I gladly accepted.

"I was thinking about home," I grinned as my hand reached to pat the head of Toothless. I felt his wet tongue licking at my fingers so I quickly waved my hand to get the saliva off.

Astrid laughed a bit, "Well I think of it too sometimes."

"Yeah," I exhaled and then took a sip of the drink I was holding. It tasted like summer, fresh flavors of orange, apple and such.

I glance to my left and I see Merida leaning against the doorway. She is keeping her arms crossed and clearly thinking of something.

"Oh you noticed too," Astrid whispered.

"Yeah. She has been like that for couple of days," I shrugged.

"She didn't want to join us when I asked her to," Astrid sighed.

"That's Mer to you," Elsa giggled as she sat next to us.

"Where were you?" I questioned.

"Just came from the room next to this. Hiro was showing me some computer programs which he created. Now he is quite annoyed by GoGo because she wants the programs to be faster," Elsa sounded a bit amused.

Eugene passed Merida and was now walking towards us.

"Hey, Colonel Moon wants to see you Hiccup," Eugene said and waited until I got up. He took my seat and I waved my hand to others after I gave my glass to Astrid.

Captain's were having a conversation at dining room when I was walking on the hallway.

I nearly bumped up to Punzie who was carrying a tray with juices. She smiled widely and I laughed a bit.

"You're in a hurry Punz," I chuckled.

"Yes but so were you. Where are you going?" Punzie grinned.

"Colonel Moon asked to see me," I smiled.

"Oh, well I better to get these beverages to Captain's. They might be thirsty," she shrugged and went towards the kitchen.

I went outside and towards Colonel Moon's portable command centre.

After knocking the door I was immediately asked to enter. I saw Shawn standing near Colonel Moons table.

"Close the door Haddock," Colonel Moon suggested and I nodded my reply.

When the door closed Colonel Moon cleared his throat.

"As you both must know, I've been struggling with certain things like betrayal," Colonel Moon stood up and began to walk around.

"Yes sir," I replied.

"And now I have found you two as trustworthy. Shawn as he has no military background besides his family and he is against this whole army concept--," Colonel spoke and I heard Shawn coughing like he was bothered , "—and you Hiccup as you did well in Jack's test once."

"Thank you sir," I nodded my head.

"You two will be the ones to lead the attack to the location which I found out from few civilians. There's a map on the table on the desk. Learn it into your memory, you'll be the ones who lead this whole operation," he smiled and we took few steps towards the map.

"But what about the mole?" I questioned.

"The mole might give away their identity when they hurry to alert the enemy when they find out our true plan," Colonel Moon laughed.

I'm staring at the map.

"The enemy is at a town called Pride Rock?" Shawn mumbled.

"Yes. I believe that their plan is to create the Sun Stone into something that takes away the light," Colonel Moon said quietly.

"That's bad. Then those black sand things could take over?" I asked while leaning myself against the desk.

"Absolutely and I believe that Pitch is leading things from there," he replied shortly.

"Then I guess that this is a battle which I have to take part in," Shawn whispered coldly. I glance at him, his expression is serious.

POV Elsa

Laying on my bed and staring at the other bed above me. Everyone else is sleeping peacefully but I can't. The feeling today had been so alerted, so quiet and like it's a bad omen.

I sigh and sit down on the edge of my bunk bed. Every soldier from the base is sharing the same portable barrack. There are three beds on top of each other and mine is the bottom one. Hiccup is snoring above me and above him is Eugene.

A shiver goes through my body and I got up from the bed. Quickly I got my coat on me and then I tiptoed at the door. It didn't take many seconds for me to be outside and the door shut behind me so no one would wake up at the sudden cold breeze.

I saw the dark building in front of me but before emerging towards it I look to my right. The portable command center where Colonel Moon is seems to be quiet as well.

Few moments later I was inside Captain North's hideout, making my way towards the guestroom where he would be. I would sneak inside and crawl under the same covers, smell his sweet scent and sleep against his chest. After he got out from the sick bed I haven't been able to be with him and the feeling of missing someone is taking over my mind. Making it impossible for me to even sleep at peace.

I pause on my steps when I see light coming out from the guestroom. Is he awake?

I press my ear against the door and I listen. Yeah, someone is moving around.

Slowly I open up the door and get in. I see him packing up his bag.

"C-captain?" I whispered.

"Close the door Arendelle," Captain Frost said with his voice being deep.

Quickly I closed it up.

"What are you doing?" I whispered while staring at him.

That's when he turned around. He was in his full combat gear, wearing his black outfit and the weapons were resting on his bed.

"That's none of your business soldier," he muttered.

"You are going somewhere?" I asked furiously while clenching my hands into fists.

He just huffed and came to me.

"The question is... what are you doing, Arendelle?" He whispered as his hands went to my coat. He pulled it open.

My cheeks warmed up as he stared at me.

"Just wearing your t-shirt and underwear while sneaking around... how would you explain this?" He sounded a bit amused.

"You are avoiding the question sir," I replied with irritation taking over me.

"Are you ready bro?" The door opened and I gasped. He pulled me against his chest, covering me from sight as his hands were tightly around my back.

"Give me a minute Shawn," he said to the person who just entered.

"Elsa? Geez Jack, she can't come and you know it!" Shawn hissed beneath his breath as he closed up the door.

Then he let me go and I stare into his blue eyes.

"Where are you going?" I insisted to know.

"Dad was stupid enough to tell Shawn where Pitch is hiding... But Shawn was smart and came to me. We will end this Els," Jack explained when he turned his back at me again.

Tears poured down from me at that point, I let my body throw against his, I was embracing him from behind.

"No! You can't go. I'm coming with you, we're partners," I sobbed against his back.

"This is our vengeance,"he snapped as he forcefully pulled me off from him and turned around. "I'm done with people getting hurt," he added while holding me from my wrists.

"You could die, he could die. This is stupid Jack," I whispered as I tried to get free.

"Better that way than anyone else suffering," he said quietly and let go of my other wrist. His other thumb brushed away my tears.

Then his body twitched and he held his abdomen. He was gritting his teeth together.

"Wait, what's wrong," I asked while I forgot everything else.

"Nothing, I guess I ate something wrong," he joked around and looks into my eyes.

"Then there's more reason for you not to go," I snapped as I crossed my arms. "I order you," I added angrily.

He laughed a bit and messed up my hair, "That's the queen I know but here I'm superior to you and I order you to stay."

"But--," I whined.

"But what?" He raised his eyebrow. Shawn was now knocking the door and telling Jack to come.

"I saw a dream. We had a boy! What if you die... I want to be with you," I sobbed.

He rolled his eyes and leaned closer. His lips pressed against mine and I wrapped my arms around him.

"Then I have to get back... right? It's a promise," he spoke against my lips.

I nodded my head slowly as I let him slip off from my grip. So this is what I felt, him leaving which is why I needed to see him again.

In silence I watch how he gets his things and leaves from the room, waving his hand to me and smiling.

"Take care Shawn," I whisper to Shawn who was closing up the door. He nodded his head and closed the door after them.

I sat on the bed and let my body to fall down. I'm staring at the ceiling while I'm laying on my back. The bed feels soft and it still smells like him.

Then I notice an envelope on the desk.

I reach to it and I read to whom it is meant. "Soldier Arendelle," I gulped and I quickly open it up.

My hands are trembling as I pull out the letter.

'As you're reading this I'm probably gone.

Before I had no reason for to stay alive, not if I get my revenge over Emma's death. However just recently something which really annoyed me at first popped up. Ringing any bells missy?

Anyway. My mother always said that if you like something, put a ring on it.

I like white gold more than yellow.

Just kidding. Check out the envelope if you hadn't already. Keep that safe for me, alright?

Seeing you later,

Your Captain Jack Frost ( Or Jackson Overland if you want to get used to the spelling.) '

"You jerk," I groaned as I stuffed my hand inside the envelope. Then my cheeks heated up as I felt something metallic.

Slowly I began to pull it out and my heart is skipping beats. It's shimmering as I see the smooth surface of a ring, it has a rock on the other side of it.

"Jack... you are an idiot if.." I muttered and just when I was about to get it out I let it drop back on the envelope.

"NO! JACK! What is wrong!" Shawn was shouting loudly. I threw the envelope to the bed and I rushed out from the door.

"Let me help you!" Shawn was begging when I got to the front door.

Jack was kneeling down on the floor, holding his head and then he began to yell.

"Shawn? What's happening?" I asked loudly while still running.

Jack pushed Shawn aside when he tried to get closer.

"He was acting oddly and then he just collapsed," Shawn panted out.

Then Jack's shouting ended. It took me a moment to realize that he wasn't the only one yelling. Whole workshop of North's had been filled with violent, painful screams.

"Jack?" Shawn asked from Jack who was now just breathing in and out wildly.

I flinched when I heard something beginning quietly, laughter. It was getting louder and louder as Jack stood up. Shawn moved his body to his side, in front of me.

"There's something wrong," Shawn whispered.

My body was frozen from shock. The laughter of his, it was like from a nightmare. Nightmare where he hurt me, it was nothing like his mocking laughter, nothing like his friendly laughter that melted my heart. This was.. cruel and cold. Frightening.

"Jack?" I sobbed aloud.

Then he flashed his eyes open and he grinned. I gasped and covered my mouth.

His eyes.

They were all black.

"Kill the girl... kill the girl..." We heard chanting from behind us and Shawn pulled me now into his embrace.

I let out a muffled scream.

All the Captains, all of them.

Captain Toothiana, Captain North, Captain Bunnymund, Captain Sandman. And Jack. Their eyes were black as the night.

First one to attack was Bunnymund, he tried to hit me with his boomerang but it slammed on Shawn who collapsed down to the ground.

I protected myself with ice shield as hits were coming one by one. Until Captain Toothiana made me fall down as she flew right at me. My numb and tired body fell on the floor next to Shawns.

"Shawn.." I sobbed and tried to reach for his hand.

"Kill the girl.... kill the girl..." They were chanting again.

"Jack... help," I cried and closed my eyes.

They were attacking again. Their angry groans were reaching to my consciousness.

Until I felt a cold breeze which made me open my eyes.

Jack was standing in front of us. He had created a barrier between me and Shawn and the Captains.

"R-Run," he stuttered.

"No, not without you," I whispered.

"RUN!" Jack shouted and looked over his shoulder. His teeth were gritting together like he would be in pain. His eyes were flashing between black and blue.

Then his arms dropped down. It was like he wasn't himself anymore. I felt my body being pulled and I noticed that Shawn was back to his senses. He hushed me down when we hid behind the couch.

It made me quiver when the Captains left the house. Their eyes were not theirs, they were taken over by the nightmare sand.

"Why," I whispered with my shaking voice.

Shawn wiped the blood out from his forehead. "Something has to have happened...," Shawn gulped.

"Only direct contact like nightmare blade could have caused that. He has been infected like that before, even I have--," I said quietly in misbelieve.

"I didn't hear any signs of battle," Shawn mumbled and got up. Together we went to the front door and peeked outside.

Everything was looking like before. However we saw no sight of them. We followed their tracks but they ended. There were some prints that seemed like they were from many hooves.

"Colonel Moon!" I said when we were getting to nowhere.

"Yeah, we should tell dad what--," Shawn nodded his head. He was holding a cloth over the cut in his forehead.

"GUYS!" Merida's voice shouted. She was running towards us, dripping down on the snow and panting hard.

"Merida?" I frowned. We were quite far from Captain North's place, near the forest.

"Finally I found someone," she exhaled.

"What happened to you?" I gasped when I quickly went to her. My hand went to her face and I brush the blood stain away from the corner of her mouth.

"Punzie surprised me," she hissed and seemed angry.

"Punzie?" I muttered.

"Yeah! I followed after her when she woke up. Then I saw Captain's walking out from the house. Their eyes were creepily black," she explained fast.

"Is your friend in danger?" Shawn questioned and leaned against a tree.

"No, the opposite. She lead them out here! Nightmare horses galloped down from the sky and they rode into the night. Heck, Punzie's eyes weren't even black!" Merida snapped angrily and waved her fist.

"Then you're saying?" I gulped.

"She is working for the enemy, she hit me when I tried to stop her from leaving," Merida crossed her arms.

A/N:

Sorry for all the drama but I actually lost my interest into writing for a while. Well, it's still fragile but I'll hope that nothing will provoke me. However I'm going to do an anime oneshot book in near future. Dunno if you know but I've been an anime fan for over 10 years, manga I began to read just recently.

How was the update?
