Four

Waking up was hard despite the fact that the mattress felt like I was sleeping on clouds in heaven, but it was even more difficult to get use to Nathalie coming into my room every morning, delivering my breakfast and starting a warm bath.

I was grateful for the time she put into making my mornings peaceful, until she told me I started lessons that day.

"Lessons? For what?" I asked confused. 'Wasn't I supposed to be a prisoner?'

"Training." She said as she prepared my clothes for me to wear after my bath, "King Gabriel says he doesn't want you drifting around the kingdom without any exercise. Plus, this will be a good chance to get to know the other kingdoms around here."

"I didn't know the kingdoms shared a training stadium." I got up and went to the bathroom, "Every since we isolated our self from.. the Agreste. We haven't had the chance to gain our knowledge of new updates."

"Yes well." Nathalie came in an helped me into the bath, "Consider yourself lucky to be able to socialize with other royalty. Once you're done preparing yourself, come downstairs in the courtyard. There will be a carriage waiting for you to take you and the Prince to the training grounds."

"The Prince?" My skin prickled, which was ironice due to the fact I was sitting in warm water, "I thought prisoners of war to the kingdom aren't allowed to share transportation? Or anything at the matter?"

She smiled sympathetically, "You don't seem like a prisoner to us anymore. Consider yourself... a guest. I will meet up with you shortly, Your Highness."

With that, Nathalie bowed and exited the room.

I sat in the bath, which smelled like vanilla, thinking through everything I've encountered. First I was a pet, laying in a dirty prison cell, then I'm a pampered guest sleeping in a royal room. Yes I am a Princess, but it just doesn't seem right.

I sighed and slid under the blanket of warm water, letting it sweep over my bare skin and enclosing my thoughts with it.

---------------

After the bath, I quickly got changed and went down to the courtyard Nathalie instructed me to go. And she was right. A carriage stood before me, waiting to leave. It was a beautiful shade of light green with vines surrounding the roof of the carriage. The wheels shined in the morning sun and it almost seemed like they were made out of gold.

"Glad you can make it." A voice spoke from behind me and I didn't have to turn around to realise it was Adrien.

"Yeah well, I wouldn't have agreed if Nathalie hadn't convinced me." I said, following him towards the carriage.

"Oh? How so?" He reached out and helped me into the ride and followed me inside. Then Adrien signalled the rider to leave.

He cracked the whips and the horses started moving forward, away from the entrance of the kingdom.

"With a warm bath and nice clothes." I smirked which gained a chuckle from the Prince.

"Well you should be thanking me, you know, I was the one who requested those materialistic things to spoil you." Adrien smiled at me.

I looked away from his emerald eyes and focused on the road ahead of us. We were getting closer to the training grounds for I could see different obstacle courses in the horizon.

It was hard to concentrate with the Prince sitting next me me, especially since I could almost feel his gaze looking at me. I felt my face flushed in embarrassment.

"I know I'm pretty, Your Highness, and I'm flattered but you don't have to stare." I attempted a hair flip but failed once my fingertips came across a knot in my hair.

Adrien laughed, a sound that was fully genuine and made me smile in return.

"You know, Princess, you're pretty down to Earth. I like it."

I blushed and pulled on my blue pigtails without knowing, "You're not so bad yourself."
