Chapter 30
Seto
It's been more than a week and we still haven't seen Ty. I'm getting worried that something might have happened to him.
Weird things have also been happening with Glitch as well. Lately she's been having really bad dreams...or so she says. She will also stare off into space, and when she does she always has a worried expression on her face.
And my magic has gotten stronger too...random sparks will erupt from my hand and make something - or someone - levitate and sometimes I'll randomly start to hover off the ground.
I sighed as I saw Glitch shift in her sleep. All the sudden she shot up and shouted, "No!" She glitches and her once heavy breathing started to slow down. "Glitch? Are you okay? What's wrong?" I question her and she shakes her head.
"They...they a-are...I-I forgot about th-them..." she stuttered.
"Wait..what? Who's 'them'?" I asked. She merely shook her head again and kept trying to find her words.
"They are g-g-going to change them..he's going to hurt them.." she whispered and she started to tear up. I bit my bottom lip and waved my hand. A purple aura glowed around her and she levitated in the air and floated towards me. I set her back down beside me and the purple glow disappeared. Though Glitch didn't seem to mind - or rather, she didn't notice.
I placed a hand on her shoulder and she looked back up at me, tear stains going down her cheek. "Glitch...tell me what's wrong..." I said as calmly as I could, as to not pressure her. She sighed and sniffed.
"M-My friends...they-they are at the f-facility. He said he was going to hurt them if I f-failed." She said.
"Facility...? But, I thought we-" but I got interrupted.
"There is-is a sister location..." she whispered. My eyes widened at that comment. Was she being serious?! A sister location?
"S-sister location?" I said not meaning to stutter. I shoved that off though. "And who is 'he'?"
"Dr. Felix...I-I was his assistant. Then I got transferred over to Dr. Mark...but before I left...Dr. Felix t-told me that if I failed Dr. Mark...my f-friends..." she trailed off and looked to the side. She glitches again.
"He's going to... change them?" I finished for her. She nodded as more tears rolled down her face.
"We have to go s-save them. I can't let th-them get hurt!" She started talking faster.
"Woah woah woah! Calm down. We don't even know where they are, and we don't even know if the rest are even willing to go help!" I said as she stood up and started walking towards the entrance of the cave.
"P-Please Seto! Dr. Felix probably already knows about Dr. Mark and how I failed and helped everyone get out." She said and started to walk. I got up and half ran-half walked towards her and placed my hand on her shoulder stopping her. She turned around and looked at me, not saying anything. "Glitch. Don't worry. Just come back and rest. I promise that we will save your friends. But until then...we need to wait and see what everyone else says."
"Promise?" She asked.
"Promise." I responded, and she nodded and we headed back to where we were. We sat down and eventually I convinced Glitch to go back to sleep. Then I was the only one up in the quiet and alone.
???
Alone. I'm always alone.
I've never left the room that I've always been in. The same four walls. The same door. The same everything. A room of confinement.
I sat in the middle of the room. I breathed in and out. The light above me flickered on and off, but I didn't mind. I closed my eyes and blurry memories flashed across my mind.
Just then I heard a set of keys rattling outside my door. I heard a key being put into the lock and it clicked open. I heard the door creak open and a set of feet come into the room. I slowly opened my eyes to see a guard standing in the doorway - behind him, another guard and a nurse.
I chuckled.
"What are you laughing at?" The guard said gruffly.
I sighed. "Let's get this over with. Shall we?" I said and gave the guard a cold, hard stare.
Sky
I woke up to see Seto already awake, twirling purple magic through his fingers. He was staring off into space, looking at the ground. He then looked at me and his magic disappeared into nothingness.
I rolled over and stood up. I started to walk towards the entrance of the cave when I heard Seto speak.
"And where do you think you're going?" He asked, seeing him raise his eyebrow as I turned around to face him.
"I...I just need some fresh air that's all." I said. He teleported to me and I took a step back in surprise.
"Sky...are you sure you're alright? You've been off the entire week since Ty left." He said. I took a deep breath.
"I said I'm fine, Seto." I said, and teleported away.
I teleported to somewhere in the forest. I looked up at the sky and saw heavy rain clouds and it started sprinkling. Little droplets of water hit my face and I looked back down.
I thought about what Seto said. It was true. I have been feeling off ever since Ty left. I want to be there for him, but he's not here.
It starts to rain harder but I didn't care. I continued to walk through the trees, my vision getting blurry from all the water that hit my face. Thunder clapped really loudly which made me jump and then lighting flashed across the sky. I continued to walk.
About ten minutes later, I came into a clearing and I stopped dead in my tracks. Laying in the middle of it was a blurry, odd shape. Just then I noticed it had a tail. And wings. I stepped closer, now seeing horns. And then I saw them...
Green headphones.
"Ty..." I whispered, my eyes going wide.
