Chapter 21
Jerome (have we had a Jerome POV?)
I watched the "fireworks" go off as I held Glitch in my arms. She must have passed out because like five seconds ago her eyes were slightly open. They were closed now and her breathing was shallow. She looked really weak and very pale.
"Guys. What should we do about Glitch?" I asked.
They all turned to face me, then looked at Glitch. "What should we do with her? I mean obviously take care of her but..." Sky said.
The boy with the purple cloak came over to me and felt Glitch's forehead.
"Woah...she's extremely hot." He said, pulling his hand back quickly.
"What is that supposed to mean?" Mitch asked.
"Here. Let me tell you just so she doesn't have to explain it. The scientists had turned her into what her name was. A glitch. Now, whenever she tries to speak, her words will start over and she will sound like she is stuttering." The boy explained.
"So they made her like a computer?" Sky asked.
"Basically. Sometimes she'll "shut down" when she is tired. Right now...she is very weak. I could heal her with a spell once we get to safety and she'll have to rest. But before I can do that...the things on my wrists will have to go." He said, holding out his wrist to show us metal bracelets.
"Wait...you said you could heal her with a spell? What are you?" Ty asked a little rudely.
"I am a sorcerer. I have magic that can heal and fight. But I can't do anything with these on me." He said, gesturing to the bracelets.
"Um...I'm strong enough. I could probably brake them off." I offered.
"Really? Thanks!"
"Here Ty. Hold Glitch for me would you?" I said, passing her to Ty, who stiffened up a bit then relaxed again.
The boy held out his hands and I grasped the outside. "This...this might hurt." I warned, since they were tightly put on there. I pulled and he winced. I pulled again and the left one came off. Immediately his hand sparked with black magic. I tugged on the right one and it eventually came off, immediately sparking with purple magic.
I looked at him questioningly but he didn't seem to notice. He walked over to Glitch and carefully placed a hand over her head, and purple magic glowed from his hand.
Glitch's pale skin was was turning back to its normal color and Glitch seemed more relaxed now.
"Thanks um...?" I started, but I didn't know his name.
"My name is Seto. DON'T tell anyone else do you hear me!" Seto warned us. I nodded quickly, a little surprised. Everyone else nodded as well.
"Good. Now. Let her rest and she'll wake up in her own time, but for now we need a place to camp out." Seto said.
"We have a camp, but it's a good ways away." Sky said.
"About how far away?" Seto asked, raising his eyebrow.
"About three hours. Give or take?" Sky replied laughing a pitiful laugh.
"Um...couldn't we just teleport there?" Ian asked, scratching his head in confusion.
"Sorry, but no. If we teleport, who knows what Glitch would feel like. She's too weak, even if Seto just healed her." Sky said, looking a little disappointed.
"Sky is right, so I guess we'll have to go on foot." Quentin said.
"Alright then. Let's go!" Mitch said, taking the lead, while I followed close behind him.
Jason (It's been so long! Reference anyone?)
We took turns carrying Glitch through the forest of trees and bushes. Finally my turn was over, so I handed her back to Jerome.
I walked a little ways behind since I was a little tired.
I had walked for about only ten minutes when I tripped over something.
I fell down and landed on my stomach. I groaned as I turned onto my back, and almost immediately a light brown animal rested on my head.
"What the-? And who might you be?" I laughed, realizing that it was a bat. Just then, something nudged my leg and I looked down to see a pig.
"Aww...are you guys lost? Probably not...but you guys are so cute." I cooed.
The bat rubbed its head against my cheek and the pig did the same with my leg.
I kept walking forward, trying to catch up with the group. I could still see them but I was farther behind now.
Surprisingly the two animals followed me.
"And what do you think you're doing?" I giggled.
"You know what?" I said, and the pig oinked at me. "I'm gonna keep you. Both of you!" I said.
I turned to the bat and said, "You're name will be Dillion..." Then I turned to the pig, "and you're name will be Jeffery!"
The pig squealed in I could only assume was excitement because I kept walking and he kept jumping in front of me, while Dillion flew by my side, occasionally landing on my head. They were so cute.
Jeffery, Dillion and Jason. The perfect three.
Jerome
Once we had arrived (finally) at our base, I sat Glitch down inside carefully. Her breathing was back to normal.
Just then Seto came in and sat down next to me.
"I'm giving her another healing spell so when she wakes up, she is fully energized and ready to go. She'll be fine when she wakes up. Just a little...active..." Seto explained. I gave him a confused look but ignored it.
Seto placed his hand on her forehead again and I heard him mutter a spell under his breath. I looked down at Glitch who now has a soft smile on her face. I smiled as well and went to find Mitch.
Seto (short)
I gave Glitch the healing spell and she smiled. Glad to know she was feeling a bit better. She did not look so great when the guards brought her back from the lab.
Well at least she's safe. At least we're all safe...
