Chapter 12
Glitch
"I knew I shouldn't have trusted you." Dr. Mark growled.
"Don't you know what Dr. Mark does to employees that don't follow the rules?" The security guard that was holding my arm asked.
I shook my head, as my fear began to grow.
A doctor then came over, holding a syringe filled with some electric blue liquid.
"W-wait! What are you doing?!" I screamed. The scientists injected the liquid into my arm and I screamed.
"Take her." I heard Dr. Mark say. Two guards grabbed my arm and locked me in a cell, right next to the lab door.
"Patch up that hole!" Dr. Mark yelled.
It was dark where I was since the power was out. I wrapped my fingers around the cold cell bars.
I opened my mouth to speak, but what came out was really surprising. My voice sounded robotic. Every time I started to speak, my words would start back over.
Dr. Mark walked by and stopped right in front of me.
"Y-You-You're a si-sick-ck-ck sc-scientist." I glared at him.
"Well you are what your name is. A Glitch. And there's nothing you can do about it. You let those test subjects out, so I'll just have to get new ones. Though I do have to get those other test subjects back. They are really important. I need to get guards to go after them."
I could barley see him in the dim light.
"Well I better get going. I need at least five or six more subjects. And you're one of them." He laughed and walked away.
I was so tired. I felt like I was shutting down. As if I was an actual computer that had a glitch inside it. I closed my eyes.
"P-p-pleas-please c-come ba-back-ck for me-e." I whispered, eventually falling asleep.
Sky
"I can't believe we just left Glitch. We have to go back for her." Jason said, putting his hands on his face and sighing.
"Dude. It's okay. We might be able to go back for her." Quentin said trying to comfort him.
"Really Quentin? We can't go back there! If we go then they might catch us! We have to leave her for dead." Mitch said. He was always one with negative attitude.
"Are you serious?! She helped us get out! She didn't follow us so they must have gotten her. We have to return the favor and help her out." Jason yelled at him annoyed.
"Guys be quiet. I'm tired of you guys arguing. I agree we need to help Glitch and get her to safety. But for now we at least have to survive a single night together, not in that hell-hole." I said. The moon had risen and the stars were out.
"Speaking of 'together'...where's Ty?" I asked. Everyone looked around the area. He was no where to be seen. "Now where did he go...?" I whispered.
Ty
I felt like I was in heaven. I was up with the clouds. Past the clouds even. That's how high I was flying.
It felt so good to stretch my wings. If only everyone could join me, but I needed some time alone. My head has been hurting ever since those stupid scientists made me fight Sky, and I've turned back to "normal". Though today, my head has been hurting more than it has ever hurt before. I just want it to stop!
I took a deep breath, calming myself down. Speaking of scientists...where was Glitch? I hadn't seen her since we left. I wonder what happened to her.
Dr. Mark
couple days later; the power is back on
"Sir. We found another one." Dr. Jack said, waving me over to look at the computer.
I walked over, looking at the screen. There was a picture of a boy with a purple cloak on top of his head covering his face.
"That's the one?"
"Yes sir. He's 'special'".
"Alright. Send two men after him, as well as a nurse. Dr. Kimberly should do."
"Yes sir." Dr. Jack said, getting a walkie talkie out.
I was getting a new test subject. And this time...he wasn't escaping. I'm sure of it.
