Best Friends 'Till the End (Fluffy Prinxiety)

Virgil looked up at the night sky, a cool breeze going through his hair. When did he come to the roof of his apartment building? He held onto the railing, knuckles white. Right. He had a heated argument with one of his roommates, Damien (or Deceit is what he prefers).

Virgil sighed, shrugging his shoulders to relieve his anger. Why did he get so overworked over something so trivial? All Deceit said was 'You still have stuffed animals? Lame.' Virgil sighed softly, leaning against the railing now, staring at the cars and people below. What if-

Virgil jumped when the door to the roof slammed open and closed, swiftly turning around, seeing a man in red and white clothing. He stopped abruptly upon seeing Virgil up here, whatever anger he had melting away as his shoulders sagged. "My apologies, I didn't realize that other people come up here. I'll lea-" Virgil cut the man off, shaking his hands in front of him frantically. "No, no, no! It's- It's fine. Do you..." Virgil gulped, fiddling with his fingers, opening his mouth to continue speaking, "Do you want to... talk about it?"

'What are you doing, Virgil?! You never want to talk to people, why now?!' This sentence ran through his mind as the stranger thought about it, sighing and slumping against the railing. "I guess, it would make me feel a bit better," he said, looking up at the night sky, his hair being slightly ruffled by the breeze. Virgil cursed in his head, not liking the fact he immediately felt butterflies at the sight of the stranger looking so peaceful. "Well, where to start..."

Roman was currently sitting on the couch, watching a Disney movie instead of doing his homework, as per usual. He jumped at the sound of the front door slamming open, Patton and Logan walking in, one with a happy grin and one with a small smile. Don't get him wrong, he loves his friends, but, after they got together, he couldn't help but be a little jealous. Not for the two being together, it's what they had. A relationship. A special bond, really.

Roman turned back to the T.V., pouting a bit. He looked down at his phone, a buzz coming from it, signaling that he had received a notification from his Instagram. He opened it, finding that Remus, his twin brother, had tagged him in a photo. He scrunched his eyebrows, his brother making fun of him for being single. Then, there were a bunch of creeps commenting on some not-so-nice things about his body.

Roman got up from the couch, wondering up to his room, then, someone had commented something that made Roman's blood boil. 'He's probably a fuck boy, just like any other good looking guy.' Who the hell did this person think they were?!

Roman made a U-turn towards the front door, grumbling under his breath that he would be back later, slamming the door behind himself. He stomped towards the stairwell, climbing the stairs, desperate to get some fresh air. The 16th floor on a 20-floor building is much closer to the roof, so, obviously, he went up. He jogged up the stairs, his blood continuing to boil as he continued to dwell on that one comment.

He slammed the roof door open and closed, stopping in his tracks when he spotted a man that was dressed in dark clothing, hair a grape soda color, black eye shadow coming from under his eyes and to his cheeks. Immediately, all anger had dissipated, and, instead, his heart skipped a beat when the darker clad man turned around and made eye contact with himself, obviously shaken from the sudden noise.

"To be quite honest, I don't think it was worth to get angry over. I think I overreacted, now that I think about it," Roman said, staring out at the city, an air of peace surrounding him. Virgil looked at the stranger curiously, who, even with the half an hour interaction, has not shared his name. Virgil hummed softly, liking that a lot better than getting onto a level of acquaintances.

Roman jerked up suddenly, blurting out, "Oh! I haven't even introduced myself, how rude of me!" Roman turned towards the purple-haired male, grabbing his left hand gingerly, in case if he wanted to take his hand away, bringing it up to his lips. "The name is Roman Golden, a pleasure to meet you," He said against the back of Virgil's hand, pressing a kiss to it. Virgil's face went bright red, quickly taking his hand back, looking away, holding his hands close to his chest. "U-Uh... I-I'm V-Virgil... you can call m-me Virge..." Virgil said tentatively, very shy all of a sudden.

Roman smirked, looking back to the city horizon. "Well... I have to get back to my apartment, my roommates probably don't care, but, I like to be in my room before dark. See you," Virgil said awkwardly, heading back to the stairwell, before stopping when Roman yelled his name. "When..." Roman looked down at his feet nervously, tapping his hands together. "When will I see you again?" Roman asked, looking at Virgil hopefully. Virgil stared at him in shock, opening and closing his mouth.

Was this guy for real?

"Uh, how... how about tomorrow, same time and place? I got to go now, bye," Virgil blurted out quickly, opening the door to the stairwell and heading down to the 16th floor. Roman sighed softly, looking up at the night sky dreamily. Hopefully, he wouldn't be ditched tomorrow.

This event from 5 years ago ran through Virgil's head, remembering how he been roped into Roman's crazy life as a Broadway actor. Virgil watched Roman, who was up on stage, singing passionately, being one of the main characters after all. Honestly, Virgil thought Roman was the best out of all of the rest, even if he was a bit biased. He was in love with him after all, not being able to ask him out even with Roman flirting with him all the time. Patton said it was in his nature to flirt, so, he didn't want to take any chances of getting his heartbroken and potentially losing his best friend.

Virgil hummed the song softly, already watching this performance about 3 times by now. Roman wanted him to be there for the very last one, but, Virgil attended all of Roman's shows. Roman was unaware of this, however, believing he was at home during his performances, except for the last one, which he always attended and gave flowers to Roman afterward.

Virgil watched on, Roman looking out to the crowd at the moment, singing a particularly sad song that only included him in it. Virgil sighed softly, leaning into his palm. He had such a pretty voice, but, sometimes, he found it annoying that he sang all the time when he was around, whether it was a Disney song or a musical song. Virgil smiled and clapped at the end, watching as Roman and his crew took a bow. Virgil made sure not to be seen by Roman when he headed back home, humming Roman's song to himself. He unlocked his apartment door, dropping his bag to the ground, taking off his shoes and slipping off his jacket, hanging it up on a coat rack.

Virgil went to the bathroom, a shower sounding appealing to him, after all, he did take the subway back home. Virgil turned on the shower, turning on some music from a speaker that his phone connected to wirelessly. Virgil stripped from his clothes, looking himself in the mirror. 'Too pale, too skinny, and too ugly. How could Roman ever come to like a guy like me?' Virgil thought to himself, grabbing a makeup wipe and took off his makeup, wondering how the hell Roman was still in his life. He had moved out of the apartment that he shared with Deceit and Remus, but, was in the same building. He moved out due to constant 'events' that occurred daily when the two thought he wasn't, or, didn't care that he was home.

Virgil stepped into the shower, running his hands through his purple-dyed hair, grabbing his special shampoo to keep the dye in longer. Virgil closed his eyes as he scrubed the shampoo in, humming softly when 'Verbatim' by Mother Mother came up in his YouTube playlist. Suddenly, his phone rang, 'How Far I'll Go' singing as Virgil fumbled around the counter with closed eyes due to the shampoo. Virgil felt the vibrating phone on his fingers and pressed the most left button, answering the call. He put it up to his ear, saying, "Hello?"

"Virgil, my dear friend! I was calling to ask a question, do you have some time?" Roman's voice came from the phone, making Virgil inwardly sigh, knowing that Roman would want to talk for hours about his show from tonight. "Um, I'm taking a shower right now, but, if you want to come over and spend the night then we can talk," Virgil said, looking for a towel that was on the counter, wiping his eyes of water and, possibly, shampoo. "Oh! Of course, I didn't mean to bother you around your shower time, I just got excited. I'll see you in about 10 to 15 minutes, ok? Ok, love you, bye!" Roman spoke too fast that Virgil couldn't respond, Roman hanging up the phone soon after. Virgil stared at his phone weirdly as it went back to his playlist, playing Verbatim again from the pause.

Virgil shrugged his shoulders, getting back in the shower, rinsing his hair thoroughly and grabbing his towel, wrapping it around his hips, combing his hair back to be out of his eyes. Virgil turned off the shower, heading out of the bathroom, humming softly as he was looking down at his phone, stopping after he heard a wolf whistle. He spun around, making direct eye contact with Roman, his heart beat calming a bit after Roman's scare tactic. "Hey Ro, let me go get changed, then we can talk about anything you want," Virgil said, walking into his room, door left open slightly ajar.

To be quite honest, the two boys have seen the other in various states of dress (even naked) and were not once phased by it. Well, except in their wet dreams, but, that was to stay with themselves and not shared with the other, even if they persisted. Virgil stepped out in a pair of pyjama pants and a MCR tank top, towel around his neck as his hair was still wet, dropping down onto the couch next to Roman, taking the towel and starting to dry his hair. "So, what's up, Pricey? Did your show do well tonight?" Virgil asked casually, knowing that lying to Roman is bad, but, not telling him was better in Virgil's mind. Roman gushing was a lot cuter than being overconfident.

And, just as he predicted, Roman started gushing, saying things like 'Oh, you should've seen it!', 'I hit all the right notes!', and 'I love you Virgil, like, love-love you.'

Wait, what?

Virgil stopped drying his hair, looking at Roman bugged eyed, the latter looking away sheepishly. Yes, Virgil has heard Roman say 'I love you' all the time, but, the second part threw him off. Was he serious? "I... y-you're not j-joking, are you?" Virgil asked cautiously, tears forming in his eyes. God, he wanted it to be true. He wanted it to be true from the day they first met.

Roman nodded slowly, looking anywhere but at Virgil, too afraid to be rejected. He felt Virgil's hand on his cheek and looked at Virgil, who was suddenly very close to him. Virgil then whispered, "Can... Can I kiss you? Please?" Roman melted at the sincerity, nodding quickly, closing the gap between the two, passionately kissing the emo. Vigil reciprocated the kiss, moving both of his hands to Roman's cheeks, pulling him in as close as possible. Roman wrapped his arms around Virgil's waist, pressing his own body up to his, swiping his tongue across Virgil's lips.

God, it felt so good to kiss him, to feel him against himself, chests together, lips melded in a dominance war. Roman won, slipping his tongue into Virgil's mouth, hungrily making out with him until he lost his breath, slowly pulling away, a dazed look on both of the male's faces. Virgil pressed his forehead against Roman's, the first to speak. "That was... incredible," Virgil's voice was airy, a dopey smile on his face, replicating Roman's as the latter nodded.

Roman nuzzled his face into Virgil's shoulder, humming softly at the smell of soap and clean landury. "Be mine?" Roman muttered softly into Virgil's exposed skin, placing a soft kiss there. Virgil gasped softly at the sensation, but, replied to him with, "Yes, God yes, I've waited so long to hear that." "Good, as have I, " Roman ended that sentence with another kiss against Virgil's lips, gripping the latter's hips with need.

Let's just say they had a fun night.
