How do I save you?
Warnings: Mentions of abuse. Panic Attack.
"Goodnight Princey!! Love you!"
"Love you too Padre!"
Roman smiled as he walked towards his room. The night was silent in the mindspace, but due to the summer heat on the outside of the mind, every room was quite warm. The 14 year old side walked down the hallway before he stopped in his path and back tracked a few steps before looking down a suddenly open, dark corridor. His curiosity took the better of him and before he knew it, he was was standing at a pitch black door.
"Curious..."
He would have laughed at the 'Alice in a Wonderland' reference if it wasn't for the fact the door made him feel so nervous. It was a strange feeling. He felt anxious in the doors presence, but something in his gut was telling him he needed to know what was on the other side. If he didn't know, it would only eat at him. He looked back down the corridor towards the light at the end before a sudden thought crossed his own mind.
'Maybe Pat and Lo don't have to know.'
He knew he should be in bed, but the desperate need to know what is on the other side told him to not listen to that fact. Turning back to the door, he placed his hand onto the dark metal of the round handle and twisted. The door clicked open and he shifted his head through the door. It was almost empty if it wasn't for the furniture. He squeazed into the room and clicked the door shut once again. The anxious feel was once again back but worse and a dark ora floated around the room. That's when it hit him of where he was.
"The dark mind..."
He glanced back at the door to see it locking itself. 'How?' you ask? The lock was a simple twisting nob, but once it clicked to the left, the lock started to fade.
'Why is it locking? What's it stopping?'
The questions in head made no sense to him. Yeah he rarely saw his twin -who lived in the dark mind- but he would see the snake like man wondering around and speaking to Patton quite a bit. They always called their talks the 'parental chats'.
The snake like man was known as Deciet, half of his face was covered in scales and had a piercing neon-yellow eyes, almost illuminating the shine of his scale. Sitting apon his dark, brown hair, was a black boiler-hat. Matching his eye, was a pare of yellow gloves, covering his hands and he wears a black cape.
Roman's twin brother was quite the opposite of him. His name is Remus and they all call him the 'Intrusive Thoughts' of Thomas's mind, but everyone all knows he's just as much creativity as Roman himself, just not as muched used. His hair was always a mess and was caught once or twice trying to dye it. His outfit was different most days, always trying to spice it up. It's also his duty to grow a moustache, but he's sticking with sharpie for the time-being.
Deciet is only a few months younger than Patton who manifested when Thomas was born. Deciet came to the mind palace once Thomas learnt to shake his head when he was being told off for something he clearly did do. Soon Logan was pulled into the picture once Thomas started learning, this being Thomas pointing at colours or learning how to talk. The twins 'joined the party' around when Thomas turned 2. Remus would tell Thomas to draw on the walls while Roman always told him what to draw.
Thomas is 15 now. This meaning Patton and Deciet are the oldest at 15, next Logan at 14, then the twins at 13 but close to being 12.
There are other sides, but they live in the different part of the mind. The imagination. Their known as traits. Traits are created by Thomas's age, they slowly become their characters and find who they are as Thomas gets older. The only main traits are known as Remy and Emile. Remy is known for keeping Thomas awake at night and tired during the day and Emile is the doctor and therapist. They can't enter the the main sides of the mind, but the main sides could enter theirs.
Roman sighed as he looked around the gothic, medieval-looking, furniture before he heard a mumbled scream. Jumping, Roman quickly summoned an invisible cloak like in the Harry Potter series, not his most original, but it would have to do. He wrapped it around himself and pushed himself into the corner.
"Remus, what have you done?"
An unheard mumble could be heard and a over-exaggerated sigh was replied.
"Come on. I'm taking you to Emile to get that darn lightbulb out your mouth."
Soon the sound of a door slamming shut made Roman sigh in relief, but before he could start taking the cloak off, a small boy walked into the room. He looked around 12, so only a year younger than the prince character.
They boy looked thin and pale, as if he was dead. His eyes were sunken or just looked like that due to the dark eyeshadow under his eyes. His hair was a mess and a baggy hoodie reached to this thighs and black jeans that fit perfectly.
Roman watched the stranger with a fascination. He even felt heat rush to his cheeks at how beautiful (and emo) this boy infront of him is.
'Who is he?'
Another question yet to solve. Patton should know of this boy. Patton always seems to know when people manifest.
The strange boy walked over to the leather couch and pick up a 'Nightmare before Christmas' themed pillow and held it close to his chest. That was when Roman noticed something else as well.
A dark figure started appearing on the wall, almost like a shadow, ripping themself away from the bricks and walking over to the boy. Roman wanted to scream for the boy to run, but he couldn't blow his cover, but the next thing surprised him the most. The boy turned towards the shadow and just glared at it. The shadow froze and all the boy did was shake his head and walk through it.
"I'm not in the mood for your scares."
Slouching, the shadow lurked behind the boy as he put the pillow into a wooden chest-box and lent down the side, pulling up a tatty bunny toy and putting that in the box aswell.
Roman watched in fascination, how the boy comunicated with the wisp and brushed it off like a odd feeling. A strange question hit Roman's ears from the boy's gental tone and it made his curiosity worse.
"What do you think's behind the door?"
"Well that's no help."
"I know... They'll kill me if I even get caught near it."
"I don't belong here... I know I don't but there's no where else to go other than this haunted house."
"No offence, but most of the time, you make me want to cry just by being in the same room as me."
The boy rolled his eyes and all Roman could do was listen to the boys voice and watch the shadow's movements.
The sound of a door opening causing the emo to jump and rush down the hallway and out of view, but the wisp stayed and turned towards Roman's position and moved closer.
"S-..ve...H-i-m...."
And just like the boy, the shadow was gone. Suddenly the door clicked and Roman rushed back to the otherside and heard it click once more.
's ve h i m..... s ve him... SAVE HIM!'
Rushing down the light hallway, the Prince had made it into the living room, where the father figure sat reading a child's picture book.
"Patton!"
"Roman?"
Patton turned his head towards the panting side with a frown.
Patton always had a blue shirt on with circle framed glasses, but his grey jumper wrapped around his shoulders was always different. Freakles dusted his cheeks and a natural blush was permanent across his nose and cheeks. Patton is also known as Morality. Thomas' right and wrong, his core of a lot his emotions, the heart.
"I saw a boy."
"Really? How'd you do that when you're supposed to be in bed?"
"I was on my way to bed, I swear! But I saw this door and went in, and I saw a boy!"
"What's he like?"
"He's pretty. He's emo and dark, he seemed lonely and jumpy at times."
"What's his name?"
"I never heard it."
"Why didn't you ask?"
"I was hiding. He looked 12."
"12?"
"Yeah."
Patton sighed and walked around the couch and looked the creative side in the eyes.
"RoRo... I don't think he's real."
"You don't believe me?"
"Theres no 12 year old boy anywhere in the mind."
"Pat, listen to me. He was in the Dark mind. They have him locked on that side of the mind!"
"Darkmind? 1. You shouldn't have been in there. 2. The darkmind plays tricks on you. Theres more chance of you seeing him in there because he's not real."
'I know he's real...'
"Now you, I want you to bed. For real this time."
"What about you?"
"I'll be in bed in a bit. Just was to finish this book then and turn all the lights off."
Shuffling his feet agaisnt the carpet, Roman left the room and walk to his room once again. For real this time.
Years have past since. Thomas had just turnes 20 meaning that Roman is 18. Ever since that one night, Roman had started checking the door every night before he started noticing patterns of the door.
The door always seems to open when Remus and Deciet have left the house and it opens only at night. Strange? Well, Roman also learnt that the shadow that the boy always talks to is the one to open the door.
Currently, Roman sat against the wall in the dark corridor with his invisibility cloak around his shoulders and around his body. He was waiting to see if the door would open that night or not, tapping his fingers against his thighs.
Patton had told him to stop going near the door, but he had promised himself to be the Prince he is and to do everything in his power to save this boy. Execpt, this isn't just any boy, Roman's grown a connection to the boy who doesn't even know he exists. This was more than a crush.
A slow scrape of metal on metal twisted Roman out of his thoughts and toward the black door. A full click echoed in his ears before he stood up and pused the cloak over his head before he slowly shifted the door open.
Squeezing through the gap he created, he pushed the door shut and turned back to his surrounding. The Boy wasn't anywhere to be seen. 5 years and Roman never learnt his name or what he represents. He spotted the Shadow infront of him, holding his finger to his lips - well it looked like it.
Nodding, the shadow led him down the corridoor to where other doors were.
'Odd...'
Roman stood a fee metres away from his twin with a shocked look, thanking himself that he always brought his invisibility cloak.
'Very odd.'
The shadow wouldn't have let him in if the other two darksides were in.
"Isaac? Where are you going?"
The shadow stopped and turned to Remus but Roman still couldn't understand. He only understood if the Shadow was close to him and was watching him.
"Okay... Do you know why Double D's grumpy?"
Shaking it's head, the shadow -now known as Isaac- contuined down the hall with Roman following like a lost puppy. They reached a royal purple door and Issac reached out and unlocked it, pushing it open to show a 17 year old boy blasting music through his headphones. Roman would be surprised if he even knew anyone opened the door.
Shutting the door once Roman had entered, Isaac ushed Roman behind the emo's bed before leaning over the emo to catch his attention. The boy's expression was deadpanned as he slid his earphones off.
"Hey..."
"No... yes... maybe... look, it's not my fault he has anger issues. Deciet's just on edge and...paranoid or anxious."
"He yelled at me. That's all."
"Positive."
"Now for once in your dead life, can you just let me listen to twenty øne piløts, ode to sleep in peace please?"
"Thank you."
Sliding his headphones back on, he closed and seemed to relax as the music washed over him.
"Save him."
"I'm trying. No one believes me when I say he's real. Apparently this side of the mind plays thoughs kind of tricks on you."
Roman had his voiced hushed in case the music-lover were to hear. Roman could hear and understand Isaac better than when he had first saw and heard the shadow, but only if in close proximity.
"Make them see..."
"You want me to bring them to the door?"
"In."
"When?"
"Tomorrow. Midnight."
"But-"
"Tomorrow. Midnight."
Roman went to speak back but Virgil sat up and looked directly at Isaac with a confused glare.
"Did you open the door to get in?"
Isaac moved closer to Virgil almost so Roman couldn't hear him.
"No. Music can wait. I want to know."
"Cause you're my only friend. I don't understand friends or what they mean or do, but I know it isn't lying."
"False."
"W...y-u ... fa..cin...ed... b-...at... oor?!"
If Roman heard that, then who knows who could have heard it. As clear as day aswell.
"...it's my only hope of getting away..."
"Of course I don't know what's on the other side of that damn door! No one tells me anything!"
"Yeah...you should go..."
"Midnight tomorrow? why?"
"Why in the living room if you can easily talk to me anywhere else at any time?"
"Fine. Now go."
Isaac stood up and moved to the black door, telling Roman with a handsignal -invisable to Virgil's eyesight- to follow.
Once the door was shut, Isaac lent closer to Roman and whispered in his ear.
"I have a plan."
Roman listened intensly to what the plan was and nodded once he understood. He rushed to the door and waited for the lock to appear so he could escape and once he did, he rushed to his room and planned out his part of the plan before settling down in bed and drifting off into a deep sleep.
The early morning came quickly and Roman found himself lying in bed due to his lack of sleep. Pushing himself up, Roman pushing himself out of the warmth of his sheets and towardshis dress to tidy himself up for the day ahead, the plan fresh in his mind. Once he was (mostly) fully awake, he stepped out his room and walked past the dark corridor towards the kitchen.
Patton was sat at the island sipping on a small cup of tea while Logan sat opposite reading the newspaper, a coffee in hand.
"Hey Kiddo! How was your sleep?"
"Well... You know that boy I talked about when I was 13?"
"Yes... You're imaginary friend?"
Roman rubbed his arms as if he was cold and watched his feet.
"He wasn't imaginary..."
"But you said he was?"
"To get you off my back about the fact 'he isn't real'."
"Wait... Roman you didn't go through that door again did you?"
Logan finally looked up confused abefore placing his coffee and newspaper down.
"What door?"
"When Roman was 13 he found the door to the darksides."
"Roman? Why would you ever go back?"
"I didn't go in!" Lie. "Issac opened the door and spoke with me." Half lie.
Patton set his tea down as well and stood up from the counter, pushing off and standing infront of he prince.
"Who's Issac?"
"The boy's shadow friend. Issac asked me to save the boy."
Logan lent forwards, tilted his head and raised one eyebrow, almost like he was interrogating.
"Who is this boy and do you know what he represents?"
"No..."
"How old is he?"
"17."
"What does he look like?"
"Beautiful!"
"Elaborate."
"Pale like he's seen no sun. Black eyeshadow under his eyes to most likely hide the bags. His hair is like ours but he mentioned once he wants to dye it purple. He's sarcastic, jumpy, likes music and disney. He's an emo."
"You speak to him?"
"He doesn't even know I exist..."
The two older ones shared a glance before Patton placed a hand on Roman's shoulder.
"Roman... how do you even get past the door if we can't?"
"Isaac opens it for me. Deceit and Remus keep it locked to stop him from getting out."
"Roman, if you're so fansinated by him and really think he's real, do you mind showing us?"
"It'll have to be tonight... around midnight."
"Tad late don't you think?"
"It's the reason I started the topic. Isaac wants to prove he's real too so we can save him."
"Save him from what?"
"The darksides."
The room went quiet before Roman shifted out of Patton's grasp and walked bacm to his room. Running his hands through his hair from the tension and stress from that single convosation.
The day went on like most others, but each one stressing how tonight would play out. The two oldest unknown to the plan ahead of them.
11:54
They were currently waiting for the clock to tick past before they heard a faint mumbling from the otherside before a blast of faint music. The door clicked open and Isaac pulled the door open before Roman could even reach for the handle.
Patton gasped at the sight of a dark -3D- figure standing infront of them; Logan only raised an eyebrow.
Music blasted through the door and a short figure was standing in the middle of the room.
His headphones were on which didn't explain why there was music, but Roman knew. It was all part of the plan.
The boy was quite short compared to the others, but he looked around 5'6. He was facing the other way so the others couldn't see his facial features, but Roman automatically knew it is the boy he's grown so fond of; even if he knew his was part of the plan.
The music was recognised as 'Ode to sleep' by Twenty øne piløts which Roman knew was the emo's favourite song. Apparently the boy had a strong connection to the song.
Patton stood stunned at what he was witnessing, and Logan barely changed his expression for the shadow to the boy.
"R-Roman... Is that him?"
"Yep." Roman smiled to himself as he watched this crush sway to the song that seemed to play in his headphones and out.
Not long after, a very frustated snaked stormed into the room and stood at the doorway; Roman's twin trailing behind.
"Virgil! Turn that off right now!"
Nothing. The boy contuined to sway and Patton's face shifted from shocked to anger in seconds.
Isaac snapped his fingers and the outside music shut off, but the music in the headphones continued.
Deciet stood confused as how the music shut off without the boy -now known as Virgil- doing anything, but stiffened at his name being called.
"Deciet." Patton's voice seemed calm, but the hatred and anger was showing through. Sighing, Patton marched up to the snake and grabbed his collar, pulling him closer in pure anger. "I think you failed to mention to me you have a side in here. Let alone, he's pratically a child!"
"Patton. I swear. It's not what you must think it is! You don't know what he's capable of-"
"You still lied to me for 17 years?! We promised to tell eachother if something as important as this comes up!!"
"Do you even know what he represents?!"
"How am I supposed to know if I didn't even know he existed!!" It wasn't even a question. Patton's voice was getting louder and louder to the point even Remus backed off a few feet away.
Isaac stepped closer and seemed to form a more solid body as he broke the two up and turned to Deciet.
"Do you even know what he represents?!"
"Isaac, stay out of this."
"No! You think I'm going to let my friend be pushed around by you any longer?!"
Patton glared daggers at his 'friend'. Deciet growled and turned back to Patton, pointing towards the emo.
"That boy right there, represents paranoia and he can't even control his own mind!"
Patton went to scream once more but the shadow had beaten him too it.
"You're lying!! So what if he can't control his own mind?! That's your fault! He isn't even paranoia, you just told him that so often he then started to believe it and made himself out to think he's a illness! No, worse!! He thinks himself as a disease!!"
The room had then grew silent, no one knowing what to say.
"Virgil is amazing and sweet. So what if he's anxious and sarcastic? He's anxiety. Everyone has anxiety. So what if he's heightened? That's that because of you and I can't stand you ABUSING him anymore!"
Everyone just listend to what Isaac was saying. The lightsides hanging off every word while the 2 darksides sat shocked.
"I have proof right in front of me of how you effected him..."
Snapping his fingers, Isaac turned to Virgil as the loud music started up again but quieter to be able to hear Virgil's voice. It was a different song that wasn't really recognizable, but Isaac snapped his fingers again and the song shifted.
Everyone watched as Virgil's movements came to stop and he took a deep breath in. The music sounded eerie and seemed to put everyone on edge.
"Isaac, this is you."
"Just wait."
The words of the song had started and Virgil seemed to start shaking. His voice quivering. More shadows started to form along the walls, tearing themself off like tar. Almost like how Roman first saw Isaac.
"What's happening?" Roman turned to his brother as he stood confused. Remus looked at his twin with a sly smile and lent closer.
"This is what happens... when he can't control his own mind."
Remus laughed and looked up at Deciet who kept his eyes on the emo.
"They're his thoughts."
"No. These are memories."
Everyone turned to Isaac before turning back to Virgil. Deciet and Remus looking the most scared. Pointing a gloved finger at the shadow.
"Stop this right now!"
"I can't. They're memories. You both said so yourselves that he can't control his own mind."
Deciet turned back and watched like everyone else as the shadows started shifting as they cirled Virgil's anxious form. Soon the shadows became a blur of yellow, green and black as they flew past before coming to a hault.
"You said these are memories?" Patton asked as he flickered his eyes between Deciet and the multiple clones of the snake man, and Remus and the multiple clones of him aswell.
"Yes."
Each clone seemed to be screaming something, and doing different actions. Each clone, a different memory. No one cloud heard what they were saying, but Virgil seemed to be hearing them loud and clear.
Quickly, Isaac snapped his fingers to stop the music before Virgil threw his headphones off and screamed, doubling over and pulling at his hair.
Roman went to move, but Logan held a firm grip onto Roman's shoulder, stopping him.
"Roman. His state of mind to too powerful to even get close to him. He either needs to ride it out or ground himself."
"I have to try save him!"
Pushing forwards, Roman slipped from Logan's grip and moved forwards.
Virgil's vision was blurred and all he could hear was the voices of his most haunted memories and the white noise ringing in his ears. His vision must have been playing tricks on him when he noticed a figure in red and white gentally crouched down towards him. He flinched away then the deep voice hit his ears, but all he could hear was static.
A gental touch sent electricity through Virgil's hand, but unused to the soft touch, Virgil melted into the touch, desperate for a contact. Another electric shock jolted throught his other hand and felt his hand be pressed agaisnt something warm. Working out that it was a chest, Virgil followed the pattern of the rise and fall until the white noise had lifted and his vision was clearer. He could feel his lungs clear as if he was drowning. Blinking to test his vision, Virgil opened his eyes to be met this a stranger. Surprising himself, Virgil just sat there, staring gay into Roman's eyes.
"Wow..."
Their first proper meeting and all the emo could say was wow as he either looked shocked or love-struck.
"Hi~"
"Y-yeah... h-hey..."
"Roman. Back here now."
Turning and glaring at the Logical side, Roman contuined to sit with Virgil as Patton turned and hit Logan's shoulder wih the back of his hand.
"Logan! Let him be."
Virgil suddenly became very aware of the strangers in the room. They heard me scream! D-Did they see the shadow?! T-The Demons?!!! He looked between the strangers. A man in a black shirt and blue tie, stood tall, but almost reaching out towards him and this stranger infront of him if it wasn't for a man slightly shorter was stopping him by pulling on the man's sleeve. The shorter man was in blue with a grey cardigan wrapped around his shoulders. The one closest to the emo was in a prince suit of red white and gold.
Feeling panic rise in him, Virgil glanced frantically around the room before spotting the open door to all his questions. His breath got caught in his throat as his eyes locked on the door.
"I-It's... open?" Virgil glanced at everyone before looking back at Roman. "Do I know you?" But before he could even answer, the emo cut off once again. "I-I'm so confused!"
Patton stepped closer and tilted his head as he let go of Logan's sleeve. "Aww, you're just a baby aren't you?"
Virgil's eyes widened in confusion. I'm not a baby. Is that how they see me? Weak and unknowledgable? Ohh wait... he mean I'm cute... No! I'm not cute or anythung like that. I'm just small and threatening!
Logan stepped forwards aswell, almost cautious. "He doesn't seem as a threat."
"A-A t-threat? H-How am I a threat?!"
Remus stepped forwards aswell, but Virgil kept a watchful -warning- stare.
"Not a threat? So you're saying you didn't just see the shadow come out the walls and you didn't just watch Virgil scream and drop the floor like he is a villain in some sort of Disney movie?"
Virgil cringed at the word 'Villain' before watching as the lightsides turned and glared at the psycho. Logan stood up and crossed his arms over his chest.
"Isaac stated that, Anxiety only has this mindset because of the two of you. Mainly you, Deciet."
"W-who's A-Anxiety?"
Isaac went wide eyed as everyone turned to the emo. He seemed calm now that Roman was rubbing circles onto his knuckles and sometimes running his fingers through Virgil hair. Something Virgil wouldn't ever let anyone do, but he felt a familiar aura around the Prince.
Patton crounched down next to his youngest friend and held a worrying gaze towards Virgil.
"Oh sweetie... that's you..."
"N-...No... I-I'm Pa-Paranoia..."
"No sweetie... Dee's been lying to you... you're Anxiety."
Virgil's mouth dropped open before he shifted his hands to hold onto Roman's long, white sleeves. Roman smiled to himself as he pulled Virgil into his chest. It felt strange finally being able to hold Virgil close to him, but he felt so grateful to be able to hold him. A strange feeling.
"T-That doesn't make s-sense..." Virgil whispered as he curled up closer to Roman, feeling the familiar presence which confused him but made him feel so calm. Isaac stepped forwards and crouched infront of the two.
"Roman... please?"
"Please what?" Virgil looked between the two confused before Roman nodded and slid his arms around Virgil, causing Virgil to wrap his arms around Roman's neck and squeak at the feeling of being lifted up. Roman lent closer to Virgil with a smile.
"Let's take you home."
Deciet's head shot towards the two with a glare. "To where? He is home!"
"What a pathetic excuse of a home, and as you take such good care of Virgil, I'm giving you the privilege of only having to make sure my brother doesn't wind up dead by blood rushing to his head when he hangs upside down from the ceilings."
Remus stepped back with a psychotic laugh before looking around everyone with a smile. "That only happened once..."
"Remus, shut up. And Roman... what an honer your majesty... But please, you can't just change sides. It's not heard of!"
Logan stepped forwards with a harsh glare. "Actually, There are many books in the libary that haven't been discovered yet that could hold the knowledge to such a thing. Plus, it is very possible. It's no different from your visits, only that we would be the ones to care for Anxiety."
"His name is paranoia."
Patton stepped forward aswell, but closer to the liar. "His name is Anxiety. And I'm older than you! You don't make the rules, I do! If there is something that needs change, change isn't always bad!"
Scoffing, Deciet stepped closer towards the moral side with a smirk. "But change can make the heart sad."
"Don't be mean."
"Me? Being mean? Oh Darling... it's only the truth."
"Your name means lies!"
"Names don't define us. Your Morals aren't always correct. Logic has emotions-"
"No I don-"
"Don't lie." Deciet smiled and stepped closer to Morality. "Roman's never loved anyone romantically." Deciet turned his neck to look at the Prince to notice he wasn't in the room, Anxiety gone aswell. He sighed before looking back at Patton. "Remus can be soft-spoken. And I... I can speak the truth."
"Can. You can. But you purposely twist the truth to make us doubt." Patton stepped away and gripped Logan's wrist, eyes glaring at Deciet. "We shall be going."
"Bring Virgil back now!"
"I can't trust you with him! He's only a child!"
"He's 17!"
"The youngest side and YOU'VE been abusing him!!"
Patton shook his head before leading him and the logical side out the door that separated the two halfs.
Meanwhile, Roman ran his fingers through Virgil's hair as the emo sat on the Princes bed, staring questionably at Roman. They just stared into eachothers eyes before Virgil reached forwards placed a gental grip around Roman's wrist. Stopping him from moving his hand.
"You saved me... why?"
"Isaac asked me too."
"How? When?"
"He's been unlocking the door to let me in since I was 13. So you were 12."
Virgil's eyes opened wide as he took a deep breath. Pulling Roman's hand down from his hair, he watched their hands as their fingers intwined; but Roman never took his eyes off of the younger.
"How did I not see you?"
"Invisibility cloack like Harry Potter. It was a last second -unoriginal- idea I had when I entered for the first time. I guess I never took it off when I was in the dark-relm incase I got caught or I scared you off."
"Is that why I feel so calm around you? I'm used to your presence?"
"I guess. You'll feel calmer around us light sides, hopefully. Patton is bascially our dad and Logan's quite chill out."
"What are lightsides? Oh and you mentioned the 'dark-relm'?"
"Do you know Thomas?"
"Yeah... the kid we look out for. Well, adult's mind we're in. Why?"
"Well. There are two halfs. The dark sides and the light sides. 'Relm' is just a word to describe each place. Patton is Morality, so right and wrongs, the moral compass - lightside. Logan is Logic, so knowledge, fact and figure -lightside. I am the 'Walking Disney' Prince, creativity, romance and the actor/theatre geek -lightside. Deciet is well... deciet... lying, truth-twisting, snake - darkside. My twin brother, Remus is a duke, creativity, dirty, intrusive - darkside."
"Where do I fit in?"
"Where ever you want to go."
Virgil looked back into Roman's eyes before letting go of Roman's hands and wrapping his arms around Roman's neck.
"Thank you for saving me."
