KLAUS walked up to the new Salvatore residence and sighed. He wanted to apologise for his actions and words the day before and ask for forgiveness, which he seemed to be doing a lot lately.

He knocked on the door and heard shuffling behind it before it opened.

"What are you doing here?" Apollo glared at him.

"I'm here to see your mother."

"Mom, the cheating hybrid dick's here to see you," Apollo called into the house, "Come in."

Klaus walked inside and into the living room. Apollo sat on the couch and continued the video game he was playing. Klaus stood awkwardly behind him as he waited for Diana.

"She hates you, you know. I don't know why you're here," Apollo said, he was lying. His mom didn't hate Klaus but he wanted the hybrid to believe that.

"Excuse me?"

"My mom, she hates you. We all do. We tolerate you for Hope and because mom asked us to. But we hate you."

"I know," Klaus said.

"Then why are you here?"

"Because I feel the need to apologise, even if I know it won't do any good," Klaus replied, "And I feel the need to be in your lives because I've missed 18 years of it and I want to make up for the lost time.

Apollo sighed and paused his game, "Why did you do it? That's all I want to know."

"I'm going, to be honest with you. I don't even know myself."

"You don't know why you did it?"

"No, I don't know how it happened. One minute I was in the parlour and the next I'm naked in my bed," Klaus shrugged.

"So you were drunk?" Apollo pressed.

"No, I had one drink that night with Hayley and that's it."

"Interesting," Apollo replied.

"What are you doing here?" Diana asked from behind them.

Klaus turned around, "I wanted to apologise."

"Pollo go upstairs."

"But my game's down here," Apollo whined.

"Upstairs. Now," Apollo grumbled things under his breath in annoyance and Diana put a silencing spell over the room.

"I am truly, deeply sorry for what I said yesterday. It wasn't my place and I didn't mean to make it seem as though you needed me, because you don't," Klaus acknowledged.

"Thank you."

"And I'm sorry for what happened 18 years ago. And I will never stop apologising for it."

"I know, but your apologies aren't needed I've moved on. You have your daughter and I have the twins. We both got something good out of it," Diana replied.

"But you didn't, you got a cheater for a soulmate," Klaus sighed.

"It's fine."

"No, it's not fine. You were the person that was made for me and I ruined it," Klaus added. This made Diana feel slightly guilty about not telling him the catch in the mate renouncing spell, "I should go. You probably have things to do."

Diana sighed and gave him a hug, shocking him, "I forgive you."

Klaus wrapped his arms around her and they stayed in that position until Diana broke away, "I should probably..." Klaus trailed.

"Yeah." He smiled solemnly at her before he left the house. Diana rubbed her face in guilt before she pushed it down and went back upstairs.
