(Before we start I wanna thank glitchandlolbitshow for making two of the OCs mentioned in this book know as Vex and Velvet! They where also kind enough to give me their OC Coral who will be introduced in later chapters! With that being said enjoy the book!)

It was a beautiful, hot summer day in Los Angeles, however for a certain woman it wasn't such a good time. In an apartment complex a woman was looking through many ads for jobs.

Her hair was a mess and she looked outright stressed and exhausted from all the job hunting she has been doing in the past few days. As the woman named Katie looked through the ads she heard someone knocking on her apartment door.

She sighed before getting up and walking up from her kitchen table to her apartment door. She unlocks the door and opens it up to see her landlord standing right outside of her door.

"Oh hello sir! Um... what brings you here to my door?" Katie asked nervously but respectfully.

"I came to give you your last eviction notice. Kat you're running out of time to be living here. I know you're job hunting right now, but you need to wrap it up ASAP and start paying your rent or else I'll have no other choice but to evict you from here." The Landlord explained sternly while Handing Katie her last eviction notice.

Katie took the notice with fear and dread written all over her face as she looked over the paper. The Landlord then left to go somewhere else in the apartment, leaving Katie with even more stress on her plate than before. Katie sighed before going back into her apartment and set the notice along with all the other unpaid bills on her counter.

She sat back down at the table and buried her head in her hands before letting out a hopeless sigh that almost sounded like crying. Katie knew that she was running out of time before she's kicked out of the apartment.

"Way to go to Katie, move to the big city, don't worry mom and dad, I'll find a great job with a robotics and mechanics degree! Ugh! What am I going to do? I can't find a job with my college degree that easily, I'm late on the rent, and I'm about to get evicted from my apartment!" Katie said to herself listing down all her current problems.

Katie sighed again feeling helpless in her current situation, she then went back to looking through the papers on her desk hoping to find any kind of Job that'll pay her and keep her from getting evicted. After about a minute of looking Katie spotted an ad for an old children's entertainment industry she went to when she was younger.

The Ad said "Princess Polly and Pirate Pats Birthday Bash! Now hiring a security guard and maintenance worker." When Katie saw that her eyes lit up as this was exactly the kind of Job she needed.

"Oh my god! I remember this place! I used to go here when I was younger! It was so much fun! Princess Poly is so kind, caring, and sweet and Pirate Pat is so brave, adventurous, and very protective of his treasure!" Katie said as she remembered the old days of when she went to the old entertainment center.

It has been years now since she last went there. She wondered if it was still the same or if some changes to the place have been made.

"Hmm maybe I can sign up for the job! It'll be wonderful to work in such a wonderful and wholesome environment!" Katie said to herself.

"Wait before I go in and ask about the job, I better freshen up cause I'm a mess right now." Katie said to herself.

She then got up and went to the bathroom to clean herself up before she would go out. After bruising her hair out and putting it up in a ponytail. After that Katie went into her room to change into nicer clothes as the ones she currently wore were more for a lazy day at home.

She went for a nice pair of shorts, a Blue T-Shirt, and a pair of pink slip on shoes. The color coding is the same for the restaurant's franchise as Princess Polly's main colors are pink while Pirate Pat's colors are blue.

"Okay Katie you can do this just go in and be as professional as possible, this could be your chance to get a job and finally start paying for your rent and you won't have to go back home as a disappointment to your parents!" Katie said to herself, giving herself more confidence.

She then grabbed her purse that had her phone, keys, and wallet in it, before leaving the apartment. After leaving her apartment Katie locked the doors behind her and went down the stairs (as she lived on the fourth floor) to the parking lot outside of the building to her car. Katie got into her car, threw her purse into the passenger seat, and drove off to the entertainment center.

(Some time later)

After some time of Driving Katie arrived at her destination, she looked outside of the window and she saw the old franchise. However it looked a lot bigger than it did when she went there when she was just a child. Now the place looked like it was the same size as the mall and the sing at the front had even more characters then it did the last time she was here.

"Wow this place has changed a lot in the past few years." Katie said as she looked at the building in aw.

She then parked her car in the parking lot, and got out of it with her documents in hand as she felt like she would need them. She went into the building and was greeted by cardboard cutouts of both Polly and Pat greeting her into the building.

Katie walked past the cutouts and looked around the place as it looked much bigger than the last time she was there when she was just a little girl.

From what she could remember the only animatronics that were here was Polly and Pat around the time. Polly was made for young little girls who (like many young girls) dreamed of becoming little fairies flying through the magic meadow she ruled over.

As for Pat he was a pirate that took young boys out on adventures across the seven seas on his ship named The Seashell Sore. She remembered having so much fun on both thrilling adventures with the two bots.

Katie looked around and found a sign in, desk with someone sitting there looking at a computer. Katie walked up to the desk with her resume on hand and lightly knocked on the window of the desk getting the person's attention.

"Um hello miss, are you a new guest here? If so, just sing here and pay the guest fee, and we'll assign you as a guest here." The man at the desk explained.

"Oh no that's not why I'm here, I actually want to sign up for the job I saw on the ads." Katie explained while showing the ad to the man.

"Oh really? Well I'll call in the manager and let him know." The man said as he pushed his chair away from the desk he was sitting at, to the other side of the room that had another desk that had some papers on it.

He picked up a phone that was sitting on the other desk and dialed a number into. Katie stood there waiting for the employee to finish the call, feeling anxious about getting the job. After a while the employee rolled back over to her and told her what the manager had said.

"The big man says you're hired." The employee said.

"Um really? That fast, no interview, nothing?" Katie asked, confused and surprised.

"The big man said that the information you provided is all he needs to know, besides we're in desperate need of a mechanic and security guard, so if you're willing to work both jobs you'll get paid for both." The employee explained.

Katie, while surprised by the sudden heir without any kind of interview, decided to brush it off as she was desperate to get a paying job.

"Okay well when should I be here and isn't there something I should sing for the company or something?" Katie asked.

"The boss said he'll have those kinds of papers ready for you when you come back later today." The employee explained.

"Um, I'm starting today? When should I come?" Katie asked, getting weird out by all of this.

"He said come around 10 Pm today, that's when the building closes and the nightshift starts and that's what you'll be working." The Employee answered board with all of this.

"Um Okay well I'll be here then." Katie said before leaving the building.

'That was a very strange kind of interview, but I'm about to be evicted and I don't wanna become a disappointment to my family so I'll just accept this job.' Katie thought to herself as she went back to her car and drove back to her apartment.

(Later that day)

Kaite was once again in her car driving to the children's entertainment industry to start her first shift of the night. While she still had many questions running through her head about getting the job so quickly it seemed only too good to be true.

However the eviction notice she received that morning reminded her she's in desperate need of a job so she decided to put this all in the back of her head and just focus on the job and getting paid.

She soon arrived once again at the restaurant and when she parked and looked out of her car window she saw that the place looked kinda unsettling at night. However Katie reassured herself that it was a place for kids so the place had to be safe especially for the kids.

So she sucked it up and got out of her car before heading inside to begin her first shift of her new job. When she got inside the build only had a few lights on to allow her to see where she was going.

"Hey you the newbie?" Katie heard someone ask. She looked and saw a woman coming out of the main area where the tables and robots were.

"Um yes I'm the new mechanic and security guard." Katie explained.

"Ah good the bots that are in need of repair are in the maintenance room in the basement, I was also told to give you your work uniform and security badge that'll allow the animatronics to identify you when they enter security mode." The woman explained.

"Um security mode?" Katie said, confused.

"Yeah the company put that in the robots as a way to help keep the place safe, as there have been a number of break ins from other companies that are jealous of our robots." The woman explained.

"Ah yeah Can't blame them, when I was a kid I was always fascinated by how realistic Polly and Pat would act on stage, it almost felt like they were people in costumes instead of robots." Katie said fondly as she remembered her childhood with the animatronics.

"Hehe Yeah the same here and the new bots have made the place even more popular than ever and the company is growing day by day." The woman said fondly.

"Hehe well where is my uniform then I kinda wanna get started and see the animatronics more." Katie explained.

"Oh right, well you won't get a tour tonight as I'm in a rush to get home so I'll just show you to the maintenance room and let you get to work as Vex and Velvet are in serious need of repairs." The woman quickly explained before handing a bag to Katie that had a security uniform in it.

"Um, who are Vex and Velvet?" Katie asked.

"Polly and Pats rivals after all a hero needs an arch nemesis and the kids are starting wondering where the two of them are as they've been out of commission for almost a week now." The woman explained before she started leading Katie out into the main area.

When she went into the main eating area she looked on stage to see Polly, Pat, and all their new friends standing on stage.

The left side is where Pat and his pirate crew was along with a doorway that led into the fun filled pirate like adventures and activities kids could do as a part of Pat's pirate crew.

The right side is where Polly and her fairy friends were along with a doorway that also led to other fun filled adventures with Polly and her friends in her magical meadow.

Katie also remembered that some kids had even said that Polly and Pat were lovers which she also thought was true as well.

"Hey newbie, why are you just standing there you're not going to find the maintenance room just standing there!" The women called out.

"Oh sorry I was just remembering somethings, it's been so long since I've last been here and there are a lot more animatronics here now then there were last time I was here." Katie explained.

"Yeah I know things change a lot regarding the company so it can feel strange when you were here back when it was just Polly and Pat." The woman explained.

"It is, but I'm not here to admire robots. I'm here for the job so let's go!" Katie exclaimed, wanting to get her work started.

"Alright, that's the spirit I hope to see in a new worker!" The woman exclaimed before leading Katie to the elevator that would take them down to the basement.

Once they arrived at the basement the woman led Katie to the Maintenance room that doubled as the security room.

"Okay you'll have to repair Polly and Pat's rivals Vex and Velvet. Vex is a sea monster and is Pat's arch nemesis and he's been having joint and speech issues and his eyes are also glitching out and scaring the kids. For Velvet she's gurgling up oil out of her mouth and eyes whenever she talks and her joints are moving in all the wrong ways and it's scaring the shit out of the kids!" The woman explained.

"Oh dear, that's not good! I'll take a look and see what I can do to fix the two of them." Katie said reassuringly.

"Thanks now just change into that uniform and get to work, I gotta get home now for a family emergency. Good luck and hope you can fix them." The woman explained before she left the basement and went back upstairs.

After the woman left Katie stood there for a moment before she looked in the bag at the uniform. It had a green mechanic uniform along with a blue security guard uniform that had a hat with the companies main mascots on them (which were Polly and Pat).

Katie sighed feeling a bit strange to be working in the place she came to as a child to have fun, she also felt this feeling of unease washing over her as she stood alone in the dark basement with only the light from her work room illuminating.

"*Sigh* Come on Katie pull yourself together this is a kids entertainment industry what's the worst that could happen to me? The animatronics coming to life and trying to kill me? Ha, ahh that's stupid, from what I know the robots won't hurt me as long as I'm registered as an employee." Katie said as she went into the room to change and get started on her work.

(Meanwhile back upstairs)

The woman had just left the building entirely and when she did Polly looked up and around for anyone else in the building. After she confirmed that the cost was clear she taped Pat lightly on his shoulder pad getting his attention.

"Um uh I'm not late for class am I?!" Pat asked confused and dazed as he just woke up.

"Pat loves it's night and everyone has left so we can move around now." Polly explained.

"Oh right, ugh I hate this I want out of this whole fiasco!" Pat complained as he stretched to get his joints working properly.

"Me too but we can't and now there's a new security guard who's also going to fix Vex and Velvet." Polly explained.

"Oh dear... well I hope the guard will be alright and I hope she can fix Vex and Velvet cause the gang isn't complete without them!" Pat exclaimed, worried about his friends and the new worker.

"We'll see what she can do for them, but for now we'll just wake everyone else up and try to enjoy ourselves before the security mode activities." Polly explained to her lover.

"Alright... but I also hope we can get out of this cause as much as I wanted to entertain children... this isn't how I wanted to do it." Pat said sadly as he looked at his robotic body.

Polly gave him a sympathetic look before hugging Pat and reassuring him with her calm sweet voice that she used to sing to children.

"We'll fix this and we'll get out as well, along with everyone else who's in this boat." Polly reassured Pat as she hugged him.

Pat smiled softly as he turned to Polly before hugging her back and giving her a slight metal kiss on her robotic head.
