o. you are a plank
IVY STIFLED A LAUGH AS MADAME PINCE GAVE HER A STERN LOOK BUT THE SECOND SHE TURNED AWAY SHE BURST INTO A FIT OF GIGGLES. Marcus balanced a book on his head and hummed. It was rather stupid but it was a normal study session for the two of them.
"Marcus, focus! Wand motion for the tickling charm?" Ivy snapped, as she finally stopped laughing.
Marcus Flint shrugged. "Kinda like a leaf? I don't know it's kind of hard to explain."
"Good! See I told you, you could do it. You'll do just fine for the charms OWL." Ivy smiled at him, flicking through her book. "You just need to be-leaf in yourself."
Marcus chuckled a bit, before concentrating on his book again.
"What is the incantation for the shrinking charm?" Ivy asked softly, looking him in the eyes.
He furrowed his brows, thinking hard for the answer. "Reducto? No, that's not right is it? This is way too hard, I'm going to fail!"
"No, you're not going to fail if I can help it. You were so close, it's Reducio. I will not let you fail." Ivy scowled. "Maybe this might help, you plank. I'll give you a sweet every time you get a question right."
"Might need something a little sweeter." Marcus joked.
"Sorry, Weasley isn't available right now." said Ivy, unaware of what she insinuated.
"Oh so you think perfect Percy Weasley is sweet?"
Ivy's eyes widened. "No, oh, no, no, no! That's not what I meant and you know it Flint!"
__________
"Hey Ivy are you sure Leo is okay with you hanging out with Flint all the time. I'd be very jealous seeing how close you are." said Luke, leaning closer to her as they payed little attention to Professor Sprout.
"I'm not quite following Luke..." Ivy sighed.
She quietly put her gloves on and began to grab one of the many plants they would be working with in the lesson. It was small but every time she looked away it seemed as though it would bite her.
"We need to collect the leaves for Professor Snape as the third years will be using them for their potions exam." Professor Sprout explained, demonstrating how to collect the leaves without being bitten.
"Surely, there must be something going on between you and Leo. You've been smushed together and whispering for ages." Luke whispered, leaving Ivy to gasp and deny.
"Luke no! There is nothing going on between me and Leo. Just like there is nothing going on between Juliet and Leo or Marcus and I."
Luke rolled his eyes. "Alright, alright. It was just a thought."
__________
"Not even a little hint Leo?" Ivy muttered into his ear as they walked to lunch. "I'm dying to know. I'd be a good help, I swear."
"Yeah because your four relationships give you great experience. Besides, he's different to what you're used to dealing with. I've got your type down Ivy." Leo replied swiftly. "You prefer the ones with annoying personalities that you want to break through and see the real them. It's like a mission for you."
"That's-that's not true!" Ivy meekly replied.
"Travis? Snooty and mean. Francis? Judgemental and no sense of humour. Marcus? Compulsive liar and an unfair player. Adam-"
"Don't you dare mention Adam! We didn't even date. You seriously believe those rumours?" Ivy snapped, glaring at him, wand in her palm.
"I was just kidding Ivy! I know what he did was disgusting." Leo winced, trying to get her to put her wand away. "Look Luke saved us seats by the chicken sandwiches."
"Then we need to go quickly, knowing him he'll eat them all before we even sit down."
And so they rushed to the table, Luke eying them suspiciously.
Ivy rolled her eyes and smacked him. "Luke I already told you, there is nothing going on between us. You'd be the first to know if there was."
"Right, sorry." Luke mumbled, still not quite believing it.
Leo's lips perked up the tiniest bit, almost completely unnoticeable, especially to the eyes of Luke and Ivy, but then they fell again like it had never even happened.
"Ivy and I could never date, it just wouldn't work." Leo took a chicken sandwich off the platter before responding. "Did you hear that Snape's hair got turned pink? The third years were making colouring potions and apparently the Weasley twins slipped some in his drink."
Ivy grinned. "Oh yeah! Except, I heard that his hair was striped red and gold."
__________
Ivy walked from her arithmancy class, head held high as she focused on her surroundings. She was doing so well; she almost couldn't believe it. However like all good things, they must come to an end.
"Oi watch it freak!" Miriam Kyle shrieked dropping her books.
"Maybe you should have moved out of the way then we wouldn't have had this problem." Ivy snapped.
Miriam faked a confused look, and put a hand to her ear. "What? Sorry I can't understand you. I think you're speaking another language again."
"Using a language to try and make a point, another weak move. Go ahead try and speak another language, you're too stupid to even learn how to speak one properly." said Ivy, forcing her way through Miriam and her cronies. "Oh there you are guys! I've been looking for you."
__________
"Seriously, I can't have one day where you're not around to annoy me!" Ivy groaned, glaring at the ginger boy. "Shoo! Yeah I said it, leave me the hell alone Weasley."
Leo quickly ran up to them. "Whoa, whoa, whoa! Ivy, Merlin, calm yourself."
"Shut up Leo, this wasn't your conversation." Ivy growled, head in her hands.
"I don't care." Leo quipped. "That was uncalled for. I know Miriam puts you in a bad mood but don't take it out on everyone else."
"It's fine, I'm not wanted. I'll find somewhere else to sit." Percy replied, grabbing his things and moving.
Leo chided, giving her an angry look."Ivanka Parry! You move your ass and apologise right now."
Ivy sighed and looked around the library and to where Percy now sat, with Oliver Wood. Silence overcame the table for a few awkward minutes until Ivy stood up.
"Okay, mother." whispered Ivy before she made her way to the table. "Sorry Weasley."
And then she walked off. Leo told her to apologise, and she did.
"It's alright Parry."
Ivy stopped in her tracks and turned around. "I didn't mean to take it out on you, you know. It's just been a bit of a bad day."
Leo noticed the shift, and smiled. He glanced over at Luke and watched as he tried to charm a girl into going to Hogsmeade with him. A frown took over his face but as soon as Ivy turned back around he was smiling.
