Malcolm slammed the door to his college dorm, causing his brother, who was sitting at his desk, to jump and whirl around in his seat.
"Was tha' really necessary?" Angus snapped, irritated at being so startled.
Malcolm shrugged, popping another chip in his mouth. "Suction from the open window, bruh. Wha's got ye in such a tizzy?"
"Professor Crayes demands me to write an essay on the start of the Battle of Lexington, arguing which side, having shot first, could have changed the course of history. It's due on Monday." Angus leaned back and sighed, burying his face in his palm.
Malcolm leaned over his shoulder, chewing and swallowing.
"Give me some of those."
Malcolm held the bag above his head. "Nae, they're mine! Get yer own."
Angus shot up and snatched it out of his brother's hand, taking at least three before handing it back.
Malcolm looked into the remains of the chip bag and sighed mournfully. "Wha' a dull paper. I'll give ye a tip though." He crumpled up the bag and tossed it into the waste basket.
"Wha's that?" Angus called before his brother disappeared into the bathroom.
"Han shot first." Another door slam.
Angus crinkled his forehead before bending over his paper once more and scribbling away.

"MALCOLM!"
"Oh shoot, what did you do now?" Jamie looked at his friend in horror before his older brother stormed in.
Malcolm was unable to reply when his brother shouted his name again.
"Malcolm! Thanks fer all yer help! Look at this!" Angus shoved the essay in front of his brother's face.
Malcolm blinked. "What are ye talking about? All I see is that red letter in the corner—"
"An F, Malcolm! An F fer a failed grade. I was getting A's until this and thanks to—"
"Wait, wait, wait, F stands fer failed?"
Angus' words died in his throat. "Wha'd'ye think it meant then?" he asked in whispered horror.
"Fantastic?" Malcolm attempted a smile while Jamie snickered. "Why else why would I get them?"
Angus groaned. "Nae, they stand fer failed. Now, why did ye tell me to write that Han shot first???"
Jamie choked. "He did what?"
Angus turned to him in anguish. "Professor Crayes assigned us to write on the Battle of Lexington, which side shot first and what impact it would hae had depending on who did the did. Malcolm told me that Han—whoever he is—shot first sae that's what I wrote."
"Wait... Ye seriously wrote an essay on that?" Malcolm was laughing so hard tears were rolling down his face. "Bruh, that's messed up. Dude!"
The look of anguished quickly turned to one of complete frustration. "I asked ye fer help, ye told me a joke, and now my grade has failed and all because of ye!"
"Hold up, lemme see the paper," Jamie interrupted.
Angus tossed it to him before picking up his little brother by his shirt collar and pinning him against the wall.
Jamie studied the top of the essay. Besides the beautifully red F were the words, "You have disappointed me. This is history. Do not disappoint me again or I will turn you over to my colleague, Professor Alverdyne and believe me, you will wish yourself dead before the end of the first class."
Jamie glanced up to see Malcolm held up against the wall and jumped up, the essay fluttering to the ground. He dove and knocked his friend out of his brother's grasp before Angus could crack his nose. "I think that's enough. How about Malcolm and I take a walk while you recover from the paper, eh?"
Malcolm scrambled to his feet and was by the door. "Chill out, bruh. Or I'll sleep in the classroom," he said over his shoulder.
Jamie closed the door—without slamming—leaving Angus to process the information, his failed grade, and attempt to try again.

It is necessary to add that while Malcolm was allowed back in the dorm, Angus did not speak to him until the weekend was over.
And it's safe to also add that Angus socked Malcolm when he did finally watch Star Wars and that infamous scene.
Totally not sorry for dragging Ellowyne and autumn_sunfire's characters into this. #moodboisforever
Just a pity Rowan wasn't able to feature...
