Injured Seeker

WOOO! It's been awhile! Alright I know some of you have been waiting, so without further ado, the story awaits!

(Y/n)'s POV:

I awoke to the typical babbling and ruckus my dorm mates created before every Slytherin Quidditch match. The curtains around my bed were rustling as they quickly moved around the room. I softly sighed in annoyance as they let out their pricing laughter and their already loud voices turned into something like screeching. I dared not tell them off about it though. The last time I did, I was stuck with Madame Pomfrey for almost an entire day as she tried to undo all their horrid hexes. I slightly shuddered at the memory.

I took in a long, deep, breath through my nose and let out another sigh. Slowly willing myself to get up and get dressed. My section of the room was much smaller than the other girl's. They'd pushed my bed as close to the wall as they could get it, leaving about six inches for me to get into it. All their chests were on the other side of my bed, basically creating a wall, they'd charmed each one to open like drawers so they could stack them up. I was forced to either climb over the footboard of my bed, or go between the six inches of space. My own chest was placed at the foot of my bed, almost closing off my six inch aisle of shuffling space. My bed was against the window, making it the coldest spot during winter and autumn, and the hottest in spring and summer.

I put my typical fake smile on, crawling out from under my warm emerald green covers and making my way to my chest. My chest opened the way theirs originally did, as they didn't bother to charm mine when they first did theirs and they undid my charm every time I did one. "Well, well, well, if it isn't the sleeping oaf! Hey, Pansy, do you think they'd let someone as ugly as her into the stands?!" Lilith Stewards points one of her bony fingers in my direction. (I just made up a random ass name, don't judge, it's better than calling her "girl one"!) I'd say she was the ugly one, she had way too much makeup on and her outfit was far too revealing for her skeleton-like frame. But then again ... what did I know about beauty? Multiple girls called me hideous on a daily basis, maybe I was just looking for an excuse to to call her ugly back. After all, she's had many boyfriends from all the other houses, and I've heard she even dated a boy from the Austrian wizarding school over the winter break. Whereas I haven't even been asked for a single date from a boy in all my two years of being here. I was currently a fifth year student, the same class grade as the "Golden Trio" and Draco. Although, the schooling I got from my private tutor when my family was still alive placed me among the smartest of eighth years.

I was fine without a boyfriend though. When nobody else wants to talk to you, it's really easy to watch and listen to others. I've found that most of the boys here are insufferable, quite frankly I was glad that they weren't interested in me.

Pansy stopped messing with her hair and snickered at me as she responded to Lilith. "Hmmm.. I don't know Lilith. Maybe she could clean up the stands after the game! Oh, but I don't think Hagrid would want such an appalling girl to help him." Her green eyes narrowed at me as her pug face pulled up with a snarky laugh. I didn't react and kept my "smile" on my face, quickly digging through my chest and retiring back to my closed off bed so I wouldn't be seen anymore. I could hear them continue to mock me from behind the curtains of my bed. I slipped off my night clothes and pulled on the ones I'd retrieved from my chest. A simple black top with a green plaid skirt and black knee high socks. I pulled my black flats out from under my bed and put them on, turning back to my night clothes and folding them neatly for when the house elves came to get the laundry. I slide against the wall once more and head to a nearby bathroom, brushing my teeth and then combing out the tangles in my (h/l) (h/c) hair. I slid on a emerald green head band to keep my (h/c) bangs out of my (e/c) eyes and applied a small amount of makeup. I didn't do much as far as the make up went, it's not like I had anyone to impress, just some mascara and a light pink lipgloss. Once I deemed myself presentable, I made my way out of the bathroom and down to the great hall for breakfast.

There were plenty of students in the hallways this morning. Fred and George Weasley were surrounded by a horde of kids who were betting on the team they'd think would win, only adding on to the already stuffed walk ways. I tried to snake my way through the crowd and ended up being shoved into a boy that was in front of me, I was knocked backwards from slamming into his back and fell on my butt. I quickly closed my open legs so nobody would see anything and looked up to see who I'd run into. As luck would have it, the very person I tried my best to avoid on a daily basis was the very boy that I'd just practically body slammed into. His angry ice blue eyes locked onto my own (e/c) ones as he smoothed his platinum blonde hair. Draco let out a huff of annoyance before telling me off and doing something I'd never thought he would do. "Watch where you're going Abbot! You could have injured me before my big game!" For once I didn't pay attention to his stone cold tone, I was far too focused on the fact that he was holding out his hand for me to pick myself up with.

He cocked an eyebrow, looking down at me with an unamused, though expectant, face. His look was also slightly confused, for I'd flinched away as soon as he'd thrust his hand towards me. "Well? Are you just going to sit there like the idiot you are on the filthy floor, or are you going to get up?" His tone screamed pure annoyance and disgust but his actions were saying that he cared... even if it was only to look good in front of Professor Snape, who was just a little ways down the hall scolding the Weasley twins. I tore my (e/c) eyes from his face and nervously looked at his hand, it looked so delicate and pampered but it also held an air of hidden strength. I stared at it, unsure if I should take it or not. After all, he's constantly picking on me, and this could just be another one of his schemes to embarrass me. Not only that but... because of my foster father and what he's done to me, all the rape and abuse, I'm terrified to be touched by a man.

I took in a deep breath and reached up towards his awaiting palm, my hand trembling when there was only a small gap between us. He gave an exasperated sigh and quickly closed the gap, making me jump and I let out a small whimper of fear. My small hand tensed in his larger one as he pulled me to my feet, since I was still in a daze I ended up stumbling into his chest.

He seemed just as startled as I was and sat there for a moment just staring down at me. Our eyes met and the world around us seemed to slow down just for a moment. I blushed and quickly stumbled back away from him, bowing my head. "I-I'm sorry! I'm Sorry. I'll umm. I'll be going now." My voice came out in a pitifully soft and scared tone. The tone I use when I'm with my foster family and they yell at me. "It's fine- just- just don't do it ever again!" I cautiously took a peek through my (h/c) bangs as he changed from his distracted tone to his typical condensing one, and saw a light blush on his face.

I started to continue on my way to the great hall to grab a quick breakfast, but stopped as I was about to pass him. "H-hey, Draco... I.. I know you probably don't need it, or don't want it from me, but for what it's worth... good luck today. Put Harry in his place and bring home a win for Slytherin." I did a cheerful closed eye smile up at him before heading into the great hall. "Tch. Whatever, it's not like I'll need it." I heard him mutter as he went off to wherever he was headed before I'd collided into him.

~~~~TIME SKIP~~~~ ٩( ᐛ )و
I peaked out at the quidditch match from my spot beside the stands. I typically didn't bother coming to the matches, because of all the people that'd be there, but for some reason I couldn't help myself. Gryffindor was at 60 points, barely beating Slytherin who had just scored to come up to 50 points. The game was intense, players were nothing but colourful blurs above the pitch in the sky as they tried to beat the other team. In all honesty, I was amazed that they could stay balanced on their broom sticks going at such fast speeds, especially with the beaters slamming bludgers at their heads.
Watching them made me long to fly too, it'd been so long since I've been allowed to use my (f/c) wings. Sometimes, when I was alone, I'd fly up ten feet into the air just to keep them strong and to stretch them. But other than that ol' Dumble-fuck says I'm not allowed to even have them visible, let alone actually use them to fly.
The Slytherins in the stand suddenly cheered in a large uproar as one of our chasers flung the quaffle through the Gryffindor's keeper and into their goal. The score was now tied 60-60.
Draco and Harry were above all the action and both boys were intently looking for the golden snitch, although I could tell they were giving each other shit the whole time. Draco's platinum blonde locks of hair were slightly coming undone from his usual slicked back style. His robes fluttered around him in the wind and the sunlight shone brightly off his hair and freshly polished broom handle. He looked so natural up there on his broom, like he was born to fly. I couldn't help but smile at the scene. Who knows, maybe we could've flown together had my life not turned out like this.
I was shaken from my thoughts when Harry suddenly nosedived towards the ground with Draco not too far behind. They bobbed and weaved through the other players, a small speck of gold shone brightly in the sunlight about 15 meters ahead of them. They were quickly gaining on the snitch before a Gryffindor chaser ended up body slamming into Harry after being hit by a bludger, Draco had to pull back in order to avoid being caught in the crash. The snitch was no where to be seen after that. Draco began to circle the pitch after that, hoping to spot the snitch before Harry could get up.
Boos and cheers erupted from the stands as Gryffindor scored another goal. But something seemed off about the cheers, it held a sort of... buzzing or.. flapping noise. I jolted when something brushed against my right ear. I immediately whipped my head around, my nose lightly touched the smooth and shiny surface of the golden snitch. I slowly reached out and it did a tiny circle around my head before resting above my palm.
I slowly wrapped my fingers around it, its tiny wings slowed and I could see the intricate details on them before they wrapped around its.. body? It felt so light and smooth in my hand, I could easily understand the appeal for the little golden ball. I drew my attention back to the game, Gryffindor had scored some more goals and the score was now 90-60, Slytherin was losing the match but we still had a chance! Harry was finally back on his broom and was circling the pitch like Draco was.
I could help our team win! If I could just get the snitch to Draco we'd take the lead and the game would end! I jumped up and down waving the snitch in my hand. "D-DRACO!!!! I'VE GOT THE SNITCH!!"
His head whipped around to see me and he smirked, instantly zooming towards me on his broom. I probably should've timed it better though, because unfortunately Harry was closer and he heard me too. He pulled towards me and seemed like lightning as he zipped through the air. No! No no no! It can't be Harry! I backed away and ended up tripping. Gah! I'm such a clumsy person! I crawled backwards, the snitch still in my hand. Harry didn't show any signs of slowing down. I screamed in fear before Draco's waving attracted my attention. He was telling me to throw the snitch in the air towards him, but Harry was almost on top of me! I was just barely able to roll out of his way and I threw the snitch straight for Draco's outstretched arm.
It looked like it was going to work, but suddenly the snitch darted straight upward. He turned up at a 90 degree angle, closely following the tiny golden ball. It looked like he was gonna win the game but suddenly Harry was right next to him. They were fighting for the snitch, which continued to climb higher in the sky. Both of them were following it, I saw one last glimpse of their red and green robes before they disappeared into the clouds. The game continued without them, Slytherin managed to score two more goals but Gryffindor still held the lead. It was a while but suddenly I saw them coming back down. They were about forty feet from the ground when Harry slammed into Draco, knocking him off his broom. He was holding on by one hand when the snitch flew right next to him. He tried to grab it but Harry was already after it. In a blur of red he'd grabbed the snitch and slammed into Draco's broom, almost losing his balance but recovering quickly. The stands erupted into cheers from the Gryffindor supporters, but I wasn't focusing on that. I was more concerned about the fact that Draco was falling to the ground. He could end up breaking his neck!
I quickly whipped out my (w/c) wand using the accio spell to gather a bunch of pillows under him. He landed on them and groaned in pain, he was badly hurt.. but it wasn't nearly as bad as it could've been. I ran onto the pitch to see how bad his injuries were, he was writing in pain the whole time. It looked like he'd broken an arm, and both of his legs were bent in odd angles. He looked like he wanted to cry but he held in his wails, sticking to groaning instead.
"D-Draco, Draco! It, it's gonna be ok! I know it hurts, but I promise you'll be alright!" He opened his steel blue eyes and I could tell he was in a world of agony. "W-what a-are you d-doing? OW!" He questioned me as I reached towards my back without thinking, I slightly winced as I ripped off one of my iridescent, jewel encrusted, (f/c) feathers. "H-here! It won't fix you but.. it'll make the pain go away!" I handed him the feather, he looked at me quizzically as his non-broken hand shakily took the feather. He stared in astonishment as the feather glowed a blinding (gold/silver) light and dissipated in his fingers. His face instantly relaxed and I could tell my magic had worked.
I smiled softly at him, and I was about to ask him how he felt, but I was pushed away from him by one of our beaters. "Get lost freak! It's bad enough he's hurt, he doesn't need your ugly face making him go blind too!" The rest of the team crowded around him and I was shoved and kicked further away. They started to take him to Madame Pomfrey so she could fix him up. I looked up from the ground to catch a glimpse of him staring at me as they carried him away.
Before I knew it he was out of my sight, and I was left alone on the pitch as the students cleared out of the stands. I felt.. slightly empty inside. I wanted to know that he'd be ok. I wanted to- EH?! Why did I care about him all of a sudden?! It's not like he's ever been nice to me.... maybe it was just my overly kind heart wanting to be sure he'd be fine. After all, he's been so horrible to me throughout my schooling here, so why should I care?
I stood alone, loneliness blowing through my body as the wind did to my (h/l) (h/c) hair. I was about to turn and go back to the castle when something caught my eye. I turned to look at it and realised that it was Draco's wand! I should probably get this back to him, I know I'd want him to do the same for me if I'd lost my wand.
