XVII. The Acceptance Parade

"Her name's Rebecca, and she's mine." November gently attached her lips to Rebecca's.

Some people watching the scene were cringing, while others looked intrigued. Some even looked excited for a reason unknown.

"I'm a queen. She's a queen. You'll live." November smiled.

A few cries of protest came from the crowd, but surprisingly most of them were applauding, looking happy for the two.

"Thank you to the most of you for your support, but just for those people out there who feel the need to chant out against gay marriage, I have a new point to add to the list of laws."

As November said this, Virginia quickly snapped up her head, wondering what her daughter already had in mind.

November kept her promise to Tori and said the exact words that she was told to say.

"Discriminate against gays, lesbians, bisexuals, trans and it's off with your head."

Shockingly, there were plenty of gay couples who were closeted and some kissed to celebrate the new point added to the list of laws.

No longer did they have to live in fear, just as Rebecca and November always had back in the day, when they were just kids.

November wondered how her mother would react to this point, and turned her attention toward Virginia. Virginia was nodding happily and clapping, a sparkle in her eyes.

'She finally changed her mindset.' November thought to herself, smiling. She knew that from now on the disagreements between her and her mother were going to be over small and funny things.

You know, things you can always laugh about later like whether you'd like pancakes or french toast for breakfast.

November was amazed at the new found difference in her mother's attitude, and she knew her years as a queen ruling alongside Rebecca would not be put to waste.

Rebecca and November, after the wedding, dawdled up the winding staircase and into their large bedroom. It was new, as they were now queens.

"Wow, queens really do get great bedrooms, huh?" Rebecca laughed, finding every single thing in that room fascinating. November chuckled at Rebecca's interest.

"Yeah." November agreed, nodding. "Also, there is something I've been meaning to do since I've become a queen."

"What's that?" Rebecca inquired, a curious look on her face.

"Well, I'm not sure what exactly to do yet, but I was thinking of holding an event to accept gays, lesbians, transgenders, you know, those sorts of people, for who they are." November explained, a wide grin on her face.

"It's a good idea, Vember, but we'll have to plan it well." Rebecca slowly nodded. "If it all goes right I think we might be able to bring back the peace here."

"Yeah." November giggled. "And you have no idea how long I have been waiting for that to happen."

"Since we were twelve years old." Rebecca smiled. "Hey, maybe the event can be for acceptance for EVERYONE."

"What do you mean?" November asked.

"You know, it should bring out the message that no matter your gender/s, sexuality, race, religion, interests, you should never be discriminated against." Rebecca lectured.

"I think that's a great moral." November smiled. "We should call it 'The Acceptance Parade'."

After The Acceptance Parade took place, peace in Evyria was forever restored.

It became a place of peace, not war.
Of love, not hate.

From The Acceptance Parade many other things evolved; like gay pride parades, gender equality speeches.

Evyria was once known as a crazy little town in the East. Now, it was known as the town that started the entire world's journey to acceptance.

'Always love, never hate,
Sometimes give, don't always take,
Ignore your head, follow your heart,
Put together, don't split apart.
Accept the outcasts, whatever their faith,
Always remember, it's okay to be gay.'
