THEY had been in the car for hours, the sun was down and they were pulling up to a house in Tennesse. They had found information on a man they were tracking and it led them here. "Do you remember what you have to do?"
"It's not rocket science Nik let's go," Diana argued rolling her eyes and getting out of the car with Klaus following.
They waited in the shadows whilst a woman called out, "Rudy!" The woman whistled for the dog, "Rudy! Come on it's too hot to make me come looking for you!"
Diana rolled her eyes. Klaus grabbed her hand and sped her in front of the woman who gasped in shock at their sudden appearance.
The two hybrids smiled fakely, "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to scare you," Klaus spoke up in a terrible American accent. Diana coughed to cover her laugh she didn't know why he used a fake accent when the real one was much better.
"Can I help you?" The woman asked still breathless from their sudden appearance.
"Yeah, umm our car ran out of gas a couple of miles back, we feel like we've been walking for forever," Klaus stated. "Yours is the first house we've come to. I was hoping we could use your phone."
"Please, sorry he's seemed to forgotten his manners," Diana expressed nudging him in the ribs.
"Don't either you have a cell phone," she interrogated. They held up their phones and pretended that they were dead.
"Battery died. Look I promise I'm not a serial killer I just want to use your phone," Klaus insisted causing Diana to scoff under her breath.
"Sure," the woman sighed.
"So we can come in?" Klaus inquired. Diana almost hit him with the amount of desperation in his voice.
"No. I'll get the phone and bring it to you." Their expressions became dark and annoyed.
"I thought country folk were supposed to be more trusting," Klaus exclaimed dropping his awful accent, Diana sighed at him.
"I'm from Florida," the woman sneered.
"Well, that explains it. Now show us a little hospitality sweet pea," Klaus compelled her. Diana scowled as she let them in.
They entered the kitchen as another woman was washing dishes.
"I bet you a hundred dollars that dog ran off to a house with air conditioning," she said not turning around. Klaus had a firm grip on the woman they met outside; she was crying.
Hearing silent cries the older woman turned around and gasped, "What's going on?"
"Please don't be alarmed," squeezing the woman in his hold's neck tighter. "We were told Ray Sutton lived here."
The woman paled, "He's almost never here. He's on the road mostly," she gulped.
"But I expect he comes home once a month. Where is he now?"
Diana kept quiet still mad that her mate had called another woman by anything other than her name. The woman ran past them and flung open the door trying to escape. Stefan stood leaning on the door and she screamed. The two mates plus the women followed her, "I love it when they run. Don't you?" Klaus commented glancing at Diana.
He frowned when she didn't reply and just glared daggers at him.
"He's in Toll. It's near the border. A bar called Southern Comfort. It's on Highway 41," The woman gulped in fear.
"Thank Gaea," Diana mumbled.
"Thank you, love," Klaus patted the crying woman on the head, "Now may my friend come in."
"Yes," she gasped between sobs.
"Kill this one quickly. And make that one suffer," Klaus pulled Diana towards him," We'll be in the car."
"So dramatic," Diana rolled her eyes.
"What is your problem?"
"Nothing I'm perfectly fine."
"Liar. Tell me," Klaus persisted. They reached the car and Diana pouted.
"Is this because I called the women 'sweet pea'," Klaus realised smiling widely.
"No. This has nothing to do with that." Diana avoided eye contact with him leaning against the car with her arms crossed.
Klaus stopped in front of her unfolding her arms and placing his hands on her waist, "You're jealous," he smirked.
"No."
"Yes, you are."
"You know what maybe I am! You're mine!" Diana exploded and Klaus smirked as she looked down. He lifted her head and kissed her lips stunning her. They were interrupted from their small intimate session by a bark.
Diana looked over his shoulder to find a Golden retriever baking at them. She squealed and shoved the hybrid away and raced to pet the animal.
The dog stayed and let her pet him as Diana turned to Klaus, "Can we keep him Nik?" She begged with an elated smile.
"No, Love."
Her expression turned dark, "Why not?"
"I don't want a dog in my car."
"Well that's kinda rude considering you're basically cousins," Diana retorted. Klaus rolled his eyes in annoyance with a small growl as Stefan walked up to them covered in blood.
"We'll drop him by the neighbours. End of story," Klaus insisted and Diana pouted, "Don't pout princess. Come on." They piled in the car and drove off with Diana complaining about the dog and Stefan's blood problem.

It was no afternoon the next day and Diana changed into something more seductive. "You're going to go in seduce Ray and then we'll make an entrance," Klaus instructed.
"Why can't Stefan do it," Diana complained.
"I don't think I'm his type," Stefan chuckled. Diana rolled her eyes before getting out of the car and walking into the bar they had been parked in front of for the last twenty minutes. And they quickly followed.
Diana let down her hair from her bun whilst scanning the bar easily spotting the target. She stalked over to the counter and sat next to him.
"Bourbon on the rocks," she ordered. Ray Sutton turned at the silky voice his eyes widening a fraction at the woman next to him.
"Hey Red get me a beer," he said not taking his eyes off Diana. "Hello there. I'm Ray."
"Not interested."
"Come on now sweetheart," he commented placing his hand on her thigh and slowly going upwards. A hand came out of nowhere and gripped his almost crushing it.
"My hero," Diana muttered sarcastically.
"Touch her again and your heart will be across the room," Klaus growled. "We've been looking everywhere for you. We started in Florida Pensacola. We met a young chap there who used to work with you before you moved to Memphis now he directed me to two lovely young women. And they led me here to you."
"Lovely?" Diana raised her eyebrows.
"Alright, they were horrible happy?"
"Very."
"I think I'll be going," Ray stuttered.
"Not so fast mate," Klaus said with a smirk, "You only just got here and your type are very hard to come by."
He turned only to see Stefan standing there, "I wouldn't do that," Stefan taunted.
"Vampires," He realised.
"Yes. You're swifty swift Ray. My friend here is a vampire, he compelled everyone in the bar so don't look to them for any help" Klaus verified, "But myself and my wife are something different," Diana looked at Klaus at the word wife and he ignored her burning gaze, "I'm a different kind of monster. I've got some wolf and I've got some vampire. And well she's a vampire with witch powers and also a slight pain in the ass."
Diana rolled her eyes at his last comment before turning to Ray, "He's a doggy like you."
"You what?"
"I'm a hybrid, Ray. I'm both. You see I want to create more of myself. Now you being the first werewolf that I've come across in many a moon, pun intended. I need you to direct me to your pack. So where can I find them, Ray?" Klaus asked.
"You can't compel me it won't work."
"Yes, I see. Diana love, let's leave Stefan to do his business?" Klaus mused with a sadistic smile. She stood up and went to the other side of the room with him.
Diana was tense. Not because she was sitting next to her mate but because of something she couldn't figure out. She rapidly tapped her nails on the table at vampire speed to keep herself busy.
Klaus noticed her movements and laid his hand over her tapping one. Her head snapped over to him and she subconsciously moved closer.
"What's the matter, my love?"
"I don't know. I've been on edge from the moment I woke up. But I'm fine." Klaus only nodded as she laid her head on his lap.
"You called me your wife."
"Well aren't you," Klaus stated.
"Well, you did try to snap my neck. Then compel me to forget about it. And you didn't let me keep the dog so," Diana smirked.
"I'm your mate you can't do anything about it," Klaus smiled. She laughed in agreement before looking up at him. She analysed him before leaning up and kissing his lips lightly.
"Are you my wife now? You still have the ring." Klaus commented pointing at the ring around her neck.
"Maybe," she replied before kissing him again.

Ray had been being tortured for a while now by Stefan whilst Diana and Klaus talked and with the occasional kiss here and there.
A woman came up to the couple and rested her hand on Klaus's shoulder. Diana glared at her heatedly, "Remove your hand in the next three seconds or you won't have one."
The lady quickly removed her hand as Klaus smiled, "Hello mister Klaus. I have some information for you. You told me to tell you if I saw anything. I saw their brother Damon at the farmhouse."
"Dames never did know when to give up." Diana snorted.
"Well thank you, Claudine. You just tell your friends to keep up the good work." She nodded and walked off.
Stefan, overhearing the conversation came up to them, "Our brother still on our trail?"
"He's getting closer, I'm going to have to deal with that," Klaus mused. Diana hit his chest and glared at him.
"No, no, no! Let me handle it," Stefan insisted.
"Why should I let you leave?" Klaus questioned.
"Because you know I'll come back."
"Do I?"
"You saved my brother's life. I'm in your service." Stefan once again insisted.
"Oh just let him go, Nikki. He'll come back I'm here and he's not going to leave me on my own with you," Diana complained.
"Fine." Klaus agreed. Diana got up to torture the wolf that was pinned against the wall and Klaus watched in amusement and wonder. She muttered something about taking too long before accessing his mind and making him see all sorts of horrible stuff before walking back over to him, proud of herself.

Diana had dropped her mind manipulation on the werewolf a while ago and he gave the answer they were looking for. Klaus fed him his blood and snapped his neck just as Stefan returned. They piled into the car and threw Ray in the trunk. Diana's nerves started again the closer they drove to their destination causing her to wonder what was going to happen.
