009.

A LOT had happened in the space of a few days. Rose had died, Damon was sulking about it and pretending not to care. Then he found himself a walking blood bag bimbo to take away the pain. Diana hadn't officially met her but she thought it was ridiculous. Stefan had dragged Diana to help Caroline with Tyler as he had found out what they were and what had really happened to Mason.

So they had visited him and Diana threatened him a bit. Then that had backfired and ended with Caroline being kidnapped and tortured but then one of Elijah's witches showed up and helped. To say Diana was disappointed with not killing as many werewolves as she wanted was an understatement.

John Gilbert was in town and it had apparently pissed off Elena so Diana naturally loved it. But when she found out what had happened to her twin she wanted to rip out the man's larynx. So that sums up what had happened in the God awful town Diana desperately wished she could leave.

As she walked into the parlour Damon looked up from his personal blood who was rushing around looking for something and his eyes widened immediately. "No, go change."

"Why? I like this outfit," Diana questioned confused.

"I don't want men looking at my baby sister," Damon said.

"I love it when you're overprotective, it's cute, but I'm not changing, and I'm your twin," she replies pinching his cheeks.

He slaps her hands away and then looks down at them. "Why aren't you wearing a daylight ring?"

"I never had a problem with sunlight," she shrugs as Damon turns back to Andie.

"I'm late. This is such a crazy day. I'm covering the historical society's high tea," Andie speaks.

"Ooh! Thrilling," Damon says sarcastically. Diana chuckles at his bluntness.

"Yeah, it's for some visiting writer. He's writing a book on small-town Virginia. It's a big snooze fest," the news reporter complained.

"Writer? What's his name," Damon asked suspiciously.

"Uh. Elijah Smith," she answered making Diana chuckle amused by Damon's shocked expression.

"Smith. He's using Smith?" Damon grumbled fixing Andie's scarf which was covering a plaster that had a bite mark underneath. Diana smirked thinking of getting her own personal blood bag as well. Maybe she could try Elena.

"Okay. You have your story straight right?" Damon asked.

"I can't say that you bit me or drank my blood. Just that we hit it off and I really like you," she recalled obviously compelled. "You're terrific though. You're sweet, funny and you're honest.

Diana made a sound that was between a scoff and a laugh. She thought it was ridiculous that her brother had compelled someone to pay him compliments, he already had a large ego. "And you're falling hard," Damon compelled.

"You might be the one," she replied monotonously.

"Perfect. Have a great day, honey," Damon announced leading her towards the door and sharing a small kiss with the human.

"Oh hey, Alaric," she greeted leaving the boarding house.

Diana got bored with the conversation so she went to the kitchen to eat. She opened the cupboard in search of pop tarts. She picked up the box but frowned when it felt light and she quickly looked in the box to find nothing but cellophane. She grew angry and walked up to her twin and slapped him across the face.

"Ow! What the hell!" Damon exclaimed.

"You ate my pop tarts. And I know it wasn't Stefan because he doesn't like that kind. So it must have been you." Alaric watched the encounter in amusement. "You are going to get me a new box," she demanded.

"Fine, geez. But after we go to the Lockwoods tea party," Damon agreed.

"Is Elena going to be there?" Diana questioned with a wary look.

"No."

"Okay, I'll go," Diana declared.

"Why are you so mean to her anyway?" Alaric intervened confused.

"I don't know. I think it's my factory setting to be mean to carbon copies of someone I like," Diana shrugged carelessly. Damon rolled his eyes at his sister's remark whilst Alaric laughed.

The twins walked into the party and Diana felt out of place as her face scrunched in disgust. "Stop making that face. You're the one who said you would come." Damon reprimanded looking around.

"When I agreed I thought there was going to be alcohol. I am way to sober for this shit," she grimaced. Jenna approached the twins and greeted Diana.

"Hey, Ana. You came."

"I was dragged here. Do you know where we could get some alcohol?" she asked hopefully.

"No sorry," Jenna replied.

Andie then rushed up to them, "Hi. You came."

"Hi," Damon replied before he leaned down and kissed her on the lips.

Once they separated Andie turned to Diana, "Who are you?"

"Diana, Damon's twin and I don't like you," Diana replied with a fake smile.

Jenna watched the encounter confused as Damon turned to her, "Thanks for introducing us." He then stalked towards the Mayor with Diana following promising Jenna to find at least one bottle of wine for them to share.

"Damon," the Mayor greeted with a smile.

"Carol," he greeted back returning the smile.

"Who's this?" Carol questioned.

"This is my baby sister-" Diana coughed, "- twin, Diana."

"Hi, it's a pleasure to meet you, Mayor Lockwood," Diana said pleasantly which made Damon think why she didn't act like that more often.

"So where have you been all this time whilst your brothers are here, I've never seen you before," Carol pried.

"I was in Paris before I came here, for recreational purposes." Diana replied politely hiding her annoyance with the woman.

"That's nice. Damon mentioned he went to college. Did you as well?" Carol continues.

"Yes, Harvard," Diana replied with a smile shocking Damon even further. He had never noticed how smart his sister really was. Sure he had seen her do smart stuff over the years but he never realised she was smart enough to go to Harvard. He shook his head thinking that it might have been a lie.

"That's wonderful dear." Carol turned back to her previous conversation with a person Diana hadn't even noticed was there. "Elijah, I would like you to meet Damon and Diana Salvatore. Their family is one of the founding families."

Damon hummed in agreement whilst Diana smiled. Elijah and Damon shook hands and Diana smirked at the level of testosterone between them. "Pleasure to meet you," Elijah greeted.

He moved onto Diana as she held out her hand as though she had never met him. He gently took her hand and brought it to his lips, never losing eye contact as he kissed it gently. She smirked at him. "It's a pleasure to meet you miss Salvatore."

"The pleasure is all mine," Diana responded.

◊◊◊◊◊◊◊

"Was that Harvard thing a lie?" Damon whispered to Diana as the twins and Elijah managed to slip away.

"No, Damon I really went to Harvard," Diana insisted.

"What can I do for you Damon?" Elijah questioned politely. They had walked into the Lockwood's office and Diana had immediately looked around for some type of drink.

"Hey, I'm here too 'Lijah. What am I a picture?" Diana retorted finding bourbon and pouring it into a glass.

"My deepest apologies my darling Ana," Elijah stated with a sarcastic smirk. Diana's head snapped up a smile adorning her features.

Damon watched the interaction with confused eyes. It irritated him that the older male clearly knew his sister but she wouldn't tell him how, "I was hoping we could have a word," Damon interrupted.

"Where's Elena?" Elijah asked.

"Safe with Stefan. They're laying low. We have a bit of a werewolf problem, you know."

"Oh yeah. I heard about that," Elijah casually says as Diana chuckled.

"It was hilarious watching you and Stefan try to fight off those werewolves while I killing left and right," Diana recalled.

Carrying on with the conversation Damon sneers at him, "I'm sure you did, considering it was your witch that saved the day."

"You're welcome," he replied arrogantly as Diana sat in a chair to watch. She knew that it might be interesting to watch and her brother wouldn't die due to the deal Elijah had with Elena.

"Which adds to my confusion on why you're here," Damon stated.

"Why don't you stay focused on keeping Elena safe, and leave the rest to me," Elijah replied adjusting his sleeves.

"I don't see why we can't hand her over to Nik," Diana shrugged without a drop of remorse.

"She can't be harmed or handed over Ana," Elijah insisted.

"But I don't like her. She is so annoying," Diana whined and rolled her eyes.

"I will tell Klaus you're here if anything happens to miss Gilbert," Elijah warned.

Diana glared at him, "I will hurt you. And you won't say anything because it would lead Nik right. To. Helen." She stated, walking her fingers up his arm and then booping him on the nose. She smiled at him innocently as he shook his head in amusement and looked at her expectantly. "Fine," she huffed.

Elijah turned to leave but Damon sped in front of him. "Not good enough."

Elijah easily picked him up by the neck and held him against the wall. Damon grabbed his neck to switch positions but Elijah grabbed his wrist breaking it making Damon let go.

Diana watched this with amused yet wary eyes. "Young vampires, so arrogant," Elijah said, "How dare you come in here and challenge me," he continued.

"You can't kill me, man. It's not part of the deal."

"Silence," Elijah demanded before picking up a pencil that sat on the desk and, plunging it into Damon's neck making him grunt in pain.

Diana's face held shock as she sat more upright. "I'm an Original, show a little respect," Elijah said as he whipped out his white handkerchief and offered it to Damon who snatched it and held it to his bleeding neck.

"The moment you cease to be of use to me you're dead, so you should do what I say. Keep Elena safe."

"Elijah," Diana called. "You kill him and you better pray to Zeus because I will bring terror down upon you," he nodded and she smiled walking up to him and kissing him on the cheek. "Love you 'Lijah," she said cheerily. She turned to her brother with an irritated look whilst Elijah left the room.

"Thank you for helping me," Damon said sarcastically. Diana rolled her eyes and pulled out the pencil carelessly.

"Make it the last time you challenge an original."

"How do you know him anyway?" Damon questioned.

"Don't ask," Diana replied.

Diana, Damon and Alaric were in the Salvatore after a long day and Diana had a bottle of bourbon in her hand not even bothering with a glass.

"Today was a bust," Damon spoke up breaking the silence.

"Yeah how's the throat," Alaric huffed with a small laugh as Diana giggled.

"Sore," he replied rubbing it.

Diana rolled her eyes at his dramatics, "Do I need to call you a wam-bulance? Stop being a baby, you're supernatural it healed."

"I can't believe you didn't help me. I was in pain," Damon whined.

"Boo-ho," she said taking a swig.

"I can feel the love, Ana," Damon sneered playfully. She blew a kiss at him and he pretended that he caught it and held it to his heart.

"Yeah that Elijah is one scary dude, but with nice hair," Alaric said. Diana nodded as Damon said.

"You can't be so buddy-buddy with our enemy Ana."

"Me and Elijah? No, never," Diana pulled a face.

"What do you mean?" Alaric questioned confused.

"I see Elijah as a best friend, someone I can confide in. No romantic feelings," Diana reasoned shaking her head.

His brother on the other hand.

"How do you even know him?" Damon asked throwing his arms up.

Diana sighed and looked at him, "I was... associated with his family," she said vaguely.

"Associated how?" Damon pressed.

"Just associated okay, I don't want to talk about it," Diana snapped.

"Okay," Damon whispered as she got up and walked out of the room and into her black Camaro. She was in the mood for blood from the vein so she drove to the town over and went on a mini killing spree.

◊◊◊◊◊◊◊

Stepping out of her car she heard voices coming from the house which made her furrow her eyebrows in confusion. She walked in quietly to see the werewolf Jules torturing her twin who was groaning in pain.

The scene in front of her had Damon tied up with a dog collar that had wooden spikes around his neck. Diana thought it was quite ironic seeing as it was werewolves that had done it to him.

She leaned against the wall and listened to what the werewolf was saying. "I heard you have the moonstone," Jules said.

Diana almost laughed at how stupid the woman was while Damon chuckled, "If you only knew the irony of this moment right now. Let me tell you how this is going to go. You're going to torture me, I don't talk, someone loses a heart. Last time it was your boy Mason."

"This time it will be you," Jules insisted before nodding at a man holding ropes. He pulled causing Damon to grunt in pain. Growing tired of what was happening Diana exposed herself.

"I don't think it will be, because you'll be dead and I'll be using your body as fertiliser for my backyard." Damon looked relieved at the sight of his twin as she smiled. One of the wolves lunged at her and she just caught him by the neck and snapped it.

Another wolf shot her with wooden bullets which landed in her stomach. She looked down at it and then back at the wolf. "Was that supposed to hurt?" She questioned "And this is my favourite jacket can we wait till I take it off first? Thank you." she said as she stripped off her jacket. Some of them rushed at her and she killed them instantly not noticing the Original leaning against the doorframe.

"Looking for this?" he questioned with the moonstone in hand, he walked forward and placed it on a table then stepped back, "Go ahead. Take it," he encouraged.

A werewolf stupidly went forward but Elijah grabbed his heart and killed him. Two others raced forward and Diana grabbed one and ripped his heart out while Elijah did the same to the other. Diana had blood splattered on her face as she dropped the heart on the floor. Jules ran out leaving one pack member.

"What about you sweetheart? Hmm, wanna take a shot? Yes? No?" Elijah asked. He then looked around "Where's the girl."

"I don't know," Damon said. Diana rushed over to him and undid the chains.

"Stop getting yourself into these situations it stresses me out."

"Well if you don't like it," Damon replied sarcastically, she rolled her eyes at his comment and hugged him.

"It doesn't really matter," Elijah muttered before punching the last werewolf and a sickening crack sounded through the house.

Diana turned to Elijah and he pointed to her, "You have a hole in your top."

"I'm covered in blood and you're worried about a rip in my top?" Diana said with furrowed eyebrows. He shrugged and she dug into her stomach and pulled out a wooden bullet.

Elijah turned to Damon, "You do realise this is the third time I've saved your life now?" He stalked out of the house leaving the twins with the mess.

Diana looked at her twin expectantly, "Clean this up, I'm tired."

"Love you," she called going up the stairs to her room.
