007.

THE SALVATORE SIBLINGS were standing patiently on the doorstep of the Gilbert house. After 20 minutes of trying to get Diana to wake up, the boys threatened to throw out her extensive shoe collection the girl eventually got out of bed and was filled in on what they were doing that day, which was going to see Katherine.

As Elena opened the door her eyes widened seeing them standing there and feeling slightly intimidated by their rigid stance. "Hi," she said.

"Can we talk?" Stefan asked seemingly innocent.

"Yeah, sure she said opening the door wider for them to come in. Whilst Damon and Stefan walked right in Diana stood by the threshold and cleared her throat.

"Sorry, c-come in," Elena stuttered and Diana just brushed past her and entered like she owned the place.

The Salvatore brothers then recalled everything that happened with Katherine as Diana was trying to pick mud from her shoe.

"You don't believe her do you," Elena asked looking at the siblings.

"No, of course not we just want the moonstone," Damon replied.

"According to Rose's friend Slater, there's a way to destroy the curse Klaus wants to break," Stefan said to her and Diana scoffed.

This action caused her brothers to glare at her, "Would you like to input your thoughts, Ana?" Damon questioned glaring at her.

"Yeah. I'd like to see things from your point of view but I can't get my head that far up my ass, you're truly stupid" She retorted. They looked at her strangely silently asking her to elaborate. "Nik won't give up even if you find a way to save her from the sacrifice she's gonna die anyway," she stated bluntly.

"You keep talking about him like you know him," Stefan accused. Diana shrugged and thought

You have no idea.

"Maybe I do, maybe I don't, that doesn't concern you, Steffie," she said patting him on the shoulder and walking into the adjoining kitchen.

"How do you destroy it?" Elena questioned confused.

"By releasing it from the moonstone," Stefan replied.

"How do you guys know this is going to even work?" Elena presses.

"Cause we have a crafty witch on our side," Damon butted in smugly causing Elena to frown.

"You discussed this with Bonnie."

"She agreed to help us," Stefan justified.

"It's Katherine she's not going to give you the moonstone," Elena fires back.

"She will," Diana insisted at the same time as Stefan says, "We're going to get it from her,"

"What they mean to say is that we have to pry it from her cold dead hand if we have to," Damon retorts. His statement causes Diana to throw a nearby apple at his head.

"You touch Katherine, Damon I swear to God I'll never talk to you again," she cautioned. Diana turned to Elena plastering a smile on her face, "Where's your aunt." she exclaimed enthusiastically.

"You know my aunt?" Elena asked shocked.

"Yeah I met her at the grill a few days ago, she's now my drinking buddy," Diana smirks.

"She's probably at the grill," Elena says.

"Thanks, Helen," Diana says speeding her way out of the house in the direction of the grill.

After drinking away with Jenna, Diana went back home to find Elena and Rose talking in the parlour.

"It's a bad idea," Rose said.

"What's a bad idea?" Diana asked leaning against the doorframe successfully startling them causing her to smirk.

"Your friend here wants to go see Slater," Rose replied.

Diana frowns, "Number 1 she is not my friend, I have my own agenda. Number 2," Diana starts turning to the doppelganger, "Why."

"Because Klaus is going to kill everyone I know if I don't hand myself over, I'd rather die than let them get hurt," Elena explains.

"Look at you sacrificing yourself for others! When did you become so noble? I had thought you lost your humanity and moral code," Diana says snarkily, "You know what I'm not going to stop you if you can't die for the people you love there is no reason for death at all." Before Elena could get a word in Diana speaks again.

"I admire you for that, you see, death wants you to be afraid, but the scariest thing is wanting death." Diana walks over to the bar and pours herself a glass of bourbon. Elena swallows thickly and diverts back to the previous conversation.

"It's not a bad idea. From what Stefan tells me, Slater obviously has more information about Klaus. You and Damon just gave up before you could get it."

"Because someone blew up a coffee shop with us in it," Rose replies sarcastically. Diana then zoned out of the conversation whilst picking at her nails. She catches the end of Elena's sentence -"How would you like to be able to walk in the daylight."

"I've been a slave to the shadows for 500 years, what do you think?" Rose chuckles sarcastically causing Diana to roll her eyes. She seemed to be doing that a lot lately.

"Then I think I know a witch who is willing to do whatever it takes to help if you're willing to make a deal," Elena suggested smugly. Diana didn't understand why the doppelganger's friends were willing to die for her. Diana thought she was a whiny bitch.

"Are you coming?" Elena asked Diana expectantly.

"Yeah why not I could have the pleasure of seeing you die and not have to deal with another you for the rest of my life," Diana replies strutting past her.

Diana, Rose and Elena stood outside the apartment that Slater lived in. "Slater. It's Rose open up," after knocking a few more times she turned to the two girls behind her and said, "He's not home sorry."

Diana became irritated by Rose's attitude so she shoved past her and swiftly kicked the door breaking it in half. She turned to look at Rose with raised eyebrows and an "After me," before walking in. Elena and Rose looked at her confused.

"How are you walking in without being invited in?" Diana shrugged looking around for the male vampire.

"Slater?" Rose called out.

Diana turned the corner and frowned, "He's not going to be much help."

"What do you mean," Elena and Rose said in unison before gasping at the body in front of her.

"That's what I mean," She left then to regain their composure and picked up some papers on a desk flicking through them. "Whoever blew up the coffee shop came here and killed him for information," she said carelessly.

"Yeah, probably to stop him from helping us. The guy was a vampire almanack, knew too much. Knowing too much came back and bit him in the ass," Rose muttered as she walked over to the window and opened the curtains shocking Elena.

"Are you trying to kill yourself?" Elena asked.

"Tempered glass. U.V rays can't penetrate," Diana replied not looking up from the papers. They turned to her confused, "What I'm smart. I studied Engineering in college," she shrugged.

"I used to just come here and watch the day," Rose said drawing Elena's attention from the Salvatore girl who had sat down and tried to enter the laptop on the desk.

"I'm sorry about Slater," she said in sympathy whilst Diana scoffed under her breath.

"Any luck?" Rose said ignoring the sympathy.

"No, if I hack it everything would be wiped, it has some kind of protection software," Diana replied.

"This is pointless, let's just go," Rose said turning. A noise rang throughout the apartment and Diana's head snapped up.

They looked at each other before Diana got up, "Stay here," she told Elena. She and Rose walked towards a closet and opened it revealing a girl curled up on the floor with tears streaming down her face.

"Alice?" Rose asked recognising the girl.

"Rose," she replied launching herself onto the older woman. She cried heavily and choked out, "He's dead." Diana rolled her eyes at the girl's dramatics.

Diana was looking at Rose trying to comfort the still sobbing girl whilst Elena was making her tea. Rose walked over to Diana with an unimpressed look. "She apparently found him a few minutes before we did."

"How is she," Elena asked after coming out of the kitchen.

"Overreacting big time," Rose replied causing Diana to shrug carelessly and Elena to look at her in disbelief.

"Her boyfriend just died. There's no such thing as overreacting," Elena defends.

"Those tears are for her. She never cared about Slater," Rose countered with a roll of eyes. The two younger girls looked at her to elaborate. "She was only dating him long enough to see if he would turn her."

Diana chuckled as Elena walked over to the crying girl with the cup of tea in her hand. The two vampires listened in on the conversation. Diana had an idea and walked towards the two humans leaving Rosse to trail after her in curiosity.

"Do you know Slater's computer password?" she asked bluntly, done with small talk.

"Are you seriously asking me that right now? I just saw my boyfriend with a stake through his heart," Alice exclaimed surprised by her bluntness.

"I don't care. Do you know his password or not," she asked again irritated.

"Who do you think you are?" Alice asked once again offended.

"Diana Salvatore, get up," Diana replied dragging her towards the computer and shoving her into the chair.

"Oh my God, I can't believe you're her," Alice says in awe.

A light bulb went off in Elena's head. "What if I could convince Diana to turn you? Would you put it in then?" she asked causing Diana to whip around so fast that she almost had whiplash.

"What!"

Alice squealed and got working on the password.

"I hope you know I'm not turning her. I don't even want my fangs near her," Diana whispered to the doppelganger.

"I do she doesn't," Elena responded as Alice turned to them.

"There's another password on here protecting the files, I don't know it," Diana walked forward a ushered the girl out of the chair.

She sat down and typed away at the computer. "Where and when did you go to college?" Rose asked.

"Harvard in the '50s," Diana replied successfully hacking into the computer and accessing Slater's files. "Someone wiped the files," Turning to Alice. "Did he back it up,"

"Yeah, luckily he was paranoid and he backed everything up onto a remote server," the girl explained as Diana got up. "Kirsten Stewart. God, he was obvious," Alice muttered.

"These all lead to vampires?" Elena questioned.

"Slater was obsessed, almost as much as me," Alice shrugged.

"What about that one? Cody Webber, they exchanged dozens of emails about Elijah," Rose pointed out.

"I could call him," Alice offered.

Elena handed Alice her phone, "Tell him we're trying to send a message to Klaus. The doppelganger is alive and ready to surrender," Rose's eyes widened to the size of saucers. "What."

"Oh my God, I knew I recognised you, "Alice exclaimed looking at her up and down.

"What are you doing?" Rose growled whilst Diana wished she had popcorn to watch the death of the doppelganger.

"I'm getting Klaus' attention."

"If Klaus knows that you're alive he will find you and kill you," Rose countered as Elena gave her an expectant look, "Which is what you wanted."

"It's either me or my family," Elena responds just as Alice walks back out.

"Cody is on his way and he really wants to meet you."

◊◊◊◊◊◊◊

Elena was sipping water from a glass when she saw Alice looking at her intently. She turned around only to come face to face with a hard chest. She gasped looking up at Damon who had a hard look on his face. "What are you doing here?" he asked in frustration.

"What are you doing here," She mumbled. Rose and Diana at that moment walked back into the room and Diana mentally cursed herself for not bringing popcorn.

"You called him?" Elena accused Rose.

"I'm sorry Elena," Rose apologised. Diana was looking between the three people in front of her in anticipation.

"You said you understood," Elena recalled hurt.

"She lied," Diana and Damon said at the same time. They both winced at their talking in unison.

Alice walked up to Damon in sheer excitement, "Damon Salvatore!"

Diana having enough of the girl sped over to her and sank her fangs in her neck draining her dry. The three looked at her in shock as she wiped a small amount of blood from her lip with her pinkie and licked it. "What! She was getting on my nerves," Diana declared. "She's type A," She states looking at the now-dead girl. "Was," she shrugged.

Damon got over his shock quicker than the others and looked annoyed. He grabbed Elena by the hand, "Come on. We're leaving."

"No," Elena said stubbornly trying to pry herself from his grip.

"I said we're leaving," Damon said sternly.

"I'm not going with you," Elena argued.

"You don't get to make that decision anymore," Damon stated.

"When have I ever made a decision? You and Stefan make them for me. This is- This is my decision." Elena faltered at the end.

"Who's going to save your life when you're out making decisions?" Damon asked.

"You're not listening to me, Damon. I don't want to be saved, no if Klaus is going to kill everyone I love."

The room goes silent for a minute before Damon speaks, "Get your ass out the door before I throw you over my shoulder and carry you out myself."

He then grabbed Elena's arm tightly as she fought him, "No!" She then attempted to punch him but he caught her hand.

Elena gasped as Damon's eyes darkened, "Don't ever do that again," he said lowly. He then turned and waltzed out of the room leaving a scared Elena and an amused Diana.

◊◊◊◊◊◊◊

"Time to go," Damon sang after disposing of Alice's body when to front doors of the apartment opened revealing 4 men.

"We're here for the doppelganger," One informed. Diana pointed at Elena in excitement.

"Thank you for coming," Elena says standing up from the couch that she was sitting on.

"I will break your arm," Damon threatens before he turns to Diana, "Stop loving this so much and help us."

Diana rolls her eyes and speeds over to one of the men and rips his heart out causing him to crumble to the ground. She turns back to her brother, "I hope you know that I've ruined my nails."

Suddenly two men drop to the ground causing Diana to look confused. She then saw Elijah behind with bloody hands and she smiled. Seeing the original Rose sped away afraid.

"I killed you. You were dead," Damon exclaimed astonished.

"For centuries now," he replies with a smirk before turning towards the last man in the room. "Who are you?"

"Who are you?" The man retorted rudely.

"I'm Elijah," he replied with a small shrug. The man's eyes grow wide with fear.

"We were going to bring her to you. F-For Klaus. She's the doppelganger. I don't know how she exists but she does. Klaus would want to see her."

"Who else knows that you're here?" Elijah asked casually as Diana smirks. "No one."

"Well, that was stupid," Diana grimaced.

"Well then you have been incredibly helpful," Elijah speaks before plunging his hand into the man's chest and pulling out their hearts. Elena gasped and Diana rolled her eyes at the girl.

"Bye 'Lijah," Diana says as he speeds away. She turns to the two people behind her. "Dames clean this up. I'm going to wash my hands," she struts off towards the sink silently cursing her brother for ruining her nails.
