005.

ELIJAH embraced Diana tightly and she hugged back just as fiercely. "What are you doing here?" Elijah asked. As he was significantly taller his head rested on top of hers with her head in the crook of his neck.

"Tweedledee and Tweedledum over there kidnapped me for being with the doppelbitch," she shrugged as she let go.

"I feel dirty, I haven't changed since last night." she looked at him, "Make this quick, yeah I want to leave this filthy place,"

He nodded and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead and walked towards the doppelgänger who was watching the encounter with wide eyes.

He brought his face to her neck and inhaled her scent as she trembled slightly. "Human. Impossible," he said as he looked at the girl, "Hello there," Elena was practically hyperventilating now and it made Diana roll her eyes.

Elijah sighed, "Well, we have a long journey ahead of us we best be going." Diana jumped and clapped her hands striding over to Elijah and linking their arms. Elijah looked down at her with a look she couldn't decipher.

"Why are you doing this Diana?" Elena stuttered confused and scared. Turning to Rose she begged, "Please don't let him take me."

Elijah unlinked his and Diana's arms, slightly reluctant to be away from the blonde, and walked towards the two vampires who were watching silently trying not to make a scene. "One last piece of business. Then we're done," he said. Trevor was trembling and had a guilty expression on his face.

"I've waited for this day for so long Elijah. I'm truly very sorry," Trevor muttered scared. Diana smirked. She had known Elijah long enough to know that he didn't take betrayal to well.

"Oh no, your apology is necessary," Elijah replied while he stalked around him like a predator to its prey.

"Yes. Yes, it is. You trusted me with Katerina, and I failed you," he insisted casting his eyes to the ground in shame. Rose was watching with wary eyes from the balcony.

"Oh yes, you're the guilty one and Rose aided you because she was loyal," Elijah smirked. "That I honour. Where was your loyalty?" he questioned with raised eyebrows.

Purposely deflecting the question he begged, "I ask for your forgiveness." Elena was watching the scene with puzzled eyes and Diana had a large smirk on her face trying to predict which one of Elijah's tricks would happen in the next few minutes.

"So granted," Elijah responded with a shrug. Trevor looked up from the ground and smiled. It all happened in a matter of seconds. Trevor's head was smacked clean of by Elijah's hand, Rose cried out for her friend but it was too late.

Elena had a horrified look on her face and brought her hand up to her mouth in shock. Diana stood there with an ecstatic expression as she looked at the head on the floor not expecting him to do that but was astonished altogether.

"You..." Rose began in anger a bitter look on her face.

"Don't Rose, now that you are free," Elijah warned holding up his bloody hand and taking out the handkerchief in the front pocket of his elegant suit. Wiping his hand he looked at Diana who was looking at Trevor's head stunned. Diana looked up at him in pride.

"I'd give it a 7 out of 10."

"Only a seven," he asked confused.

"It lacked style and you could have built up the tension more," she shrugged in response. He chuckled and looked at Elena who was looking back at him with a petrified expression. Diana could smell the hesitancy rolling off her in waves.

"Come," he said calmly. Diana jumped up from her place crouched on the floor and practically skipped towards him excited that she was seeing her old friend. "No, what about the moonstone," Elena suggested trying to buy herself time.

"What do you know about the moonstone?" Elijah questioned calmly looking to Diana who looked at him with a sorry look.

"I know that you need it, and I know where it is," she added.

"Yes," he urged her to continue. "I can help you get it," she stated. Diana looked at her like she was mad. Even though her and Elijah were friends she didn't trust him to know he wouldn't take her to Nik.

"Tell me where it is," Elijah said calmly taking steps towards her.

"It doesn't work that way," Elena declared with a newfound burst of confidence. "Are you negotiating with me?" he smirked as he looked at Rose

"First I've heard of it," she muttered with teary eyes. Elijah then tried to compel Elena to tell him where it was. "What is this vervain doing around your neck," Elijah then ripped it off and compelled her. Diana zoned out.

You'd think being with vampires, who could compel you at any point, you'd drink vervain.

A loud crash sounded through the house and Elena looked relieved whilst Diana looked bored.

"What was that," Elijah asked whirling around to face Rose.

"I don't know," she replied hastily.

"Who else is in this house," he demanded.

"I don't know," she shouted. He roughly grabbed Elena and pulled Diana slightly towards him. They walked to the main entrance but a gust of wind stopped them. He shoved Elena toward Rose who gripped her tightly.

Diana suddenly was pushed against the wall by her older brother.

What are you doing here he mouthed to her.

"Oh you know just chilling" she whispered back furious, she then sped away from him seeing Elena, she held her in the same position she was previously in and began to compel her.

"You will forget everything that happened between Elijah and me, you won't remember until I let you," she said and went to the other side of the room.

"Up here," Stefan said taunting the older vampire.

"Down here," Damon mocked. A wooden stake then goes flying into Elijah's hand but it had little effect as he pulled it out in hardly any pain.

"Excuse me, to whom it may concern, you're making a great mistake if you think you can beat me. You can't. You hear that? I repeat you cannot beat me." Elijah exclaimed as he picked up the wooden coat rack. Diana rolled her eyes and wondered how someone could sound so posh and yet so cocky.

"So I want Diana and the girl on the count of three, or heads will roll," the sound of wood snapping sounded through the house. "Do we understand each other," he stated.

Another voice sounded from upstairs, "I'll come with you. Just please don't hurt my friends, they just want to help" Elena whimpered.

He slowly turned around with a scowl and the stake still in his hand. "What game are you playing with me." Without replying she threw a vervain bomb she was hiding at him and he screamed in pain. Diana winced. Stefan runs down the stairs shooting wooden bullets at the original hoping to somehow hurt the original vampire.

Elijah however recovered quickly and was about to stake Stefan when Damon picked up the coat rack and threw it at him staking him in the heart. Diana breathed in, knowing he wasn't dead, but still worried he wouldn't come back.

Rose zipped out of the room and Damon went to follow her but Elena stopped him. "Just let her go." she walked down the stairs and Damon thought she was going to hug him but she brushed right passed him and jumped into Stefan's arms.

Seeing the hurt in his face Diana sighed and opened her arms to him and embraced him. He wrapped his arms around her as she whispered in his ear, "Thank you, Dames, by the way, she isn't worth it. She's annoying and whiny. Hey guys, I think I'm going to stay," Diana said pulling back from the hug.

"What? What do you mean?"Damon asked immensely confused.

"He deserves a proper burial Dames, I don't mind staying in this ugly outfit to do it," she stated with a tilt of her head.

"Yeah okay whatever, you sure," Stefan asked suspiciously.

"Yes now go, shoo."

As they walked out the door and Diana made sure they were gone she walked over to Elijah and pulled the stake out and set him on the floor gently. She stalked over to the ratty couch and gingerly sat down picking at her nails. About ten minutes later Elijah woke up with a gasp.

"Finally," Diana said dryly. Her statement made the original jump and Diana chuckled.

"You're still here, I wasn't expecting that."

"Do you really think that low of me 'Lijah?" Diana asked putting a hand over her heart in mock hurt. He rolled his eyes and looked at her.

"You are- you're just like him you know."

Diana's eyes widened and she shook her head furiously. "I am not just like him, I'm beautiful, a genius immensely talented,-"

"Dangerous," he replied, "What happened between you two, last time I saw you, you two were happy?"

Diana sighed, "We got into an argument. He was angry about not finding Katherine and I was angry that I hadn't seen him much lately. So we argued, words were said, things were thrown. And he snapped my neck," She looked away with tears in her eyes, "I left that night."

"You still love him-" Diana cut him off.

"No. I don't. I hate him." Elijah went over to her and wrapped her in a hug.

"Yes, you do. Because the bond you have is... something unbreakable," he whispered. She rested her head against his chest hugging him back tightly. Elijah sighed into her hair as she relaxed against him.

"There are days that I just can't get him out of my head," she muttered.

"It's called love, Ana," Elijah replied, "And the love Niklaus has for you is something I've never seen him have. Something he surely can't get over with one argument."

Diana stepped back slightly, "Thank you. I should probably go, my brothers are going to send out a search for me soon."

Elijah nodded. She kissed his cheek gently and sped away.
