Chapter 7 - You're A What?
Marinette P.O.V.
I pulled Alya aside from the crowd of girls and around the corner, that way no one would see us. She trailed after me, and when she eventually caught up, her face was full of curiousity and confusion. I sighed, letting go of her hand.
"Marinette! Hey girl, where have you been? How are you already here? Where did you get that outfit? Did you know Adrien was worried about you? Why didn't you tell me-" Alya asked, throwing her hands in the air. After I had cut her off by raising my hand, she looked at me, awaiting an explanation.
"Listen, once I tell you this, it should answer just about every question you have, okay?" I said, and took a deep breath. Alya nodded her head impatiently. "Just remember, I only recently found out about this, so don't get mad about me not telling you. Basically, I'm a-" My sentence was cut off by a loud, "Marinette!"
I looked around the corner to see Chloe sashaying her way up to Alya and me, her hand on her hip and the other swaying at her side. Alya groaned and brought both of us from our hiding spot. I tried my best to fake a smile as I saw Chloe come up to us and point her very scary acrylics at me.
"Where have you been, huh? Digging in the trash to find that hideous outfit - oh wait, you are the trash! And why didn't you take a plane with all of us? Maybe because your family couldn't afford a two way flight to China, so you had to drive all the way here!" She said, cackling like a witch. I could feel my insides fuming with frustration and anger, but Alya put her hand on my shoulder as she stood next to me. The boiling hot furiousity relaxed and I took a deep breath. Tikki always taught me to be kind to others, you never know what they might have going on, so this is what I'm doing.
"Chloe, please stop. That isn't very nice," I commented, "Don't you know what your saying can have a big impact on people? Besides, what's the point of being mean? Do you want to cause pain to others?" My voice was calm, and I just looked at Chloe sadly. She was furrowing her brows and biting her lip shakily. I could tell she was hurt behind the intimidating mask she wore.
"Come on, Mari-Trash! Don't think because your being nice that your going to get special treatment! I am the mayor's daughter after all, your just a baker's daughter," Chloe said, grabbing Sabrina's wrist and pulling her over to the cafe. I sighed in response. I don't know what happened to her to make her this angry, but it sure must've been bad.
"Marinette, c'mon!" Alya whispered and pulled us to our previous hiding spot. "What were you gonna say?" I took a deep breath and put my hands on her shoulders, telling her not to freak out.
"My name is Marinette Dupain-Cheng, Princess of China..." I said quietly and looked at my feet. Alya began to laugh, causing me to look up again. She was clutching her stomach as whirls of laughter came from her mouth.
"You? Princess of China?" Alya asked between laughs, and I furrowed my brows.
"Stop laughing, Alya. This is serious!"
"Wait, your telling me your actually a princess?!"
"Be quiet! And...yes, I am. I just found out, like, yesterday, and it's still kind of shock to me."
"Whoa. That would explain how you got here before us. You probably took the royal private jet or something," Alya said the last part jokingly, and I turned a little red.
"One of them."
"Wait! You actually have a private jet?!"
"Ssshhhh! And I think we have like four or five, I'm not really sure," I replied, putting my finger to my chin to demonstrate my thoughts. Alya squealed as quietly as she could and I laughed at her.
"No way! So, you like, live in the palace and everything?!" She asked, and I thought about it.
"Well, I was living there until our class arrived, but Maman and Papa said I could stay at the hotel with all of you, but I'll be in the Presidential Suite. Oh! You can stay in the suite with me! Then it would be like a sleepover every night!" We both squealed and my heart pounded with excitement. Maybe being a princess isn't so bad after all. "I also want to take you to the palace before our class does so I can give you a personal tour. And to be honest, I haven't even explored all of the rooms yet!"
We were jumping around in excitement as Mrs. Bustier came over to check on us, "What in the world is going on here? Oh, Marinette your here! Wonderful, now we'll be heading up to your rooms, so each of you, here's your card." She handed us a card that I guessed was the key to our rooms, and we ran to the elevator, closing it before any of our classmates could get in with us. I pressed the floor our suite was on and we began to go up.
"We totally need to tell Chloe right away! No way she would treat you horribly anymore if she knew you were royalty!" Alya said shaking my arm. I looked at her, giving her a 'not a chance' face. "What? Don't you hate how Chloe treats you?"
I looked down and nodded my head, "Yes, but I don't her to stop bullying me because of my status. I want her to stop because she understands what she's doing is wrong. Plus, you're the only person I have, and want to tell. Well, at least until our class comes to the palace to see my family and me." I looked up at Alya again and saw her nodding sympathetically. I grinned and hugged her.
The elevator opened and we both ran down the halls until we found the room number that was on my card. 833 was it. I slid the card into the slip and the light turned green. Turning the knob, we both breathed in, excited about what awaited behind the door. Let me just tell you, it was incredible!

Alya and I looked at each other, then ran to the bedroom, flopping onto the bed. We giggled and laughed as we ate the complementary chocolates that had been arranged on the bed.
"I can't wait to see your palace!" Alya cried happily, and I laughed. Maybe being a princess isn't the worst thing the world, I thought to myself as Alya and I began our pillow fight.
