"We have to move." Her fathers voice rang clear in her ears as the news on the TV showed that another gang war had taken many victims. "It's not safe for her here, nor you."
"Neither is it you! Don't act like you're not at risk either." Her mother spoke coldly.
She sighed, ready for another argument between her parents.
"I'm tired, I'm going to head upstairs." She fake yawned, only wanting to avoid the yelling and shouting before it started.
The gang wars that had been happening in Seoul caused high tensions for everybody, not just the innocent citizens, but the physical gang members too. She headed upstairs, her parents not even acknowledging her leaving. But she was used to it now so she wasn't going to even think about it any longer.
'Are you coming to this party or not? I'll come pick you up in five minutes if you are' Her best friend texted.
'I'll need to get ready and fake being in my room, I'll make my own way there' She replied. Shutting her bedroom door behind her, she put the snip across which was a safety feature her parents made sure she had just in case anybody was to break into their house.
She grabbed the spare pillows from under her bed and put them under her blanket to make it look like at least somebody was under there before she went through her wardrobe and picking out a skintight dress in black. She grabbed a bag that was big enough to put shoes in and put her heels into that as she slid into her converse.
She quickly curled her hair and applied makeup before opening her window as she heard a loud bang downstairs. She flinched slightly, but presumed it was her mother getting angry and slamming doors again. So she continued outside, shutting the window behind her as she barely managed to balance on the windowsill that over time just seemed to be getting smaller and smaller.
She climbed down the framing that supported the climbing plants below her window before landing on the gravel. She jumped when she heard the familiar sounds of gunshots a scream and then silence before the window she just climbed out of opened and a masked man peered out. She clutched onto the bag she had and sprinted out the front garden and down the street.
'Please god, be somebody out here to help me' She thought to herself as she ran.
That was the only thing she had going for her. She could run fast and for long distances.
She heard the footsteps behind her, but they sounded like they were more than one person behind her.
That's when she saw a group of men on the corner of a street, all dressed similarly but different and discussing among themselves.
'Men that could've just killed my parents, or these?' She thought to herself before deciding that she'd rather go with the people that hadn't just murdered the only family she knew of.
"Help!" She yelled, catching the attention of the men on the corner of the street. "Please!" They looked up and all reached to their waists. A sharp pain hit her lower back and she screamed in pain tumbling to the floor as more gunshots filled the street. One person crouched over her.
"Shit..." He muttered quietly, hand on her lower back with pressure which made it hurt more. "Guys she's hurt!"
She started to feel her vision start blurring.
"N-No..." She whimpered quietly.
