reading 'bout yourself on a plane, fame, what a shame
It had been a full week since Matty had gotten the email from OUT, and tomorrow was the day that he had to actually shoot for the magazine. Nervous was a major understatement for how he was feeling at the moment, but there was nothing he could do about it now. Hann kept saying that his nervousness was a good thing, that it was good to be nervous for his first major shoot, but he kept feeling as if he would freak out at the last minute and back out. Now, Adam would tie him down to the place and make sure he actually went, but he'd probably put up the good fight.
"Hey M, do you want me to go with you tomorrow? I just wanna make sure you'll be okay, I mean, I know how bad your anxiety gets and I wanna make sure you're alright." A look of pure concern and full hearted love was evident in his eyes, that beautiful twinkle that Matty loved more than almost anything else. With a soft smile, he walked over to the man and hugged his waist, his floppy curls barely reaching the taller man's chin, "Yeah, I do want you to go. If you wouldn't mind, of course. Don't wanna be a bother, love." He could feel Adam's chest vibrate as he laughed, placing a small kiss atop the mess of curls and hugging the man back, "You're never a bother, love. Promise."
Then a knock echoed throughout the small flat, shocking the two out of their loving state, and with a small sigh Matty shuffled over to the door. Opening it, a tall curly-haired blonde stood there, a smug look on his face. It was a look like he was better than everyone, like he should be sipping diamonds out of the Holy Grail, and even though they hadn't shared a word yet Matty could feel the anger boiling in the pit of his stomach. "Uh, hello? Who are you, if you don't mind me asking?"
The man turned his attention to Matty and the sharpness of his eyes shocked him, but he kept his composure. This guy seemed rude but he didn't know yet, so he had to give him a chance, "I'm George Daniel, the producer for OUT magazine in the UK? Yes, you're Mr.Healy I suppose? I wanted to interview you personally, if you wouldn't mind." Without an answer he pushed past Matty in to his house, looking around as if he was wanting to buy the place. Adam's eyes narrowed at the man, and it scared Matty. If Hann was getting angry then you were really doing something wrong.
"Sure, since you already made your way in. Yes I'm Matty, I don't like being called Mr. So, what exactly are you interviewing me for? That's supposed to be tomorrow, like every other shoot on the planet." George snapped his head towards the man and glared, the look sending cold chills up the brunette's spine, but he didn't let his demeanor falter any. Just because this guy came in all high and mighty didn't mean he was going to step all over the two, it didn't work that way. At the same time this was a big opportunity for him and his career, he may not get another opportunity if he screwed this one up. Though, he didn't want to get stepped on either; that had happened more than enough times.
"Hann, would you mind going to get some more tea from John 'n Ross? They wanted to see you anyways, just tell them 'm busy, yeah?" Matty forced a smile on to his face and while it didn't look genuine, he tried his best. The two men shared looks that looked genuinely angry and all the same scared, but they knew what it meant: are you sure you want me to leave Matty, yes I'm sure Adam just go. When Adam walked by the shorter man with his keys in hand he turned his head to whisper to him, "Text me if you need me okay? Anything. I love ya M, message when I can come back yeah?" With that he was gone, and Matty watched after him as he left.
"That your boyfriend?" George's deep, honey thick voice spoke through the silence, and it made Matty long to hear more of it even if he didn't want to admit it. He made his way over to the couch where the man was sitting, his suede black suit wrinkling where his back was hunched over to lean over the coffee table. Matty sat down next to him and exhaled, "No, he's not actually though many people think that. He's my best friend, since I was a little lad. I love him more than anyone. So anyways, on to business, what did you need to ask?"
"Look Matty I didn't come here to interview you, even a mess like you knew that was bullshit from the start. I just came out here to tell you that if you embarrass me in any way at that shoot, you will regret it, and I promise that your modeling career will be over." His eyes stared daggers in to Matty's soul, but he wasn't going to back down on his morals just because this unbelievably attractive, unbelievably rude man was advancing on him. Who was he to walk in someone else's house and tell them what to do, when they weren't even planning on it? Matty crossed his ankles and leaned forward slightly, closing the gap between him and George, "Look, I wasn't planning on stepping your oh so amazing career as a deadbeat producer for a magazine you probably don't even care about. Are you even gay? Because you seem like the type to lie just to get a little ahead in life." Standing up, Matty walked in to the kitchen and turned to look at George, who was staring back at him in disbelief. Then he too walked in to the kitchen, glaring at Matty through tousled blonde curls. "I am gay, thank you very much. Anyways, why do you care so much? Got a thing for blondes, yeah?"
"Maybe." He didn't realize that the word slipped past his lips before George was smirking at him, and walking towards the front door. "Yeah, well, maybe one day I'll be disgusting enough to stoop to your level and date you, rat boy." With that, he was gone.
