Tension

Ch-45

"Father," Jin said, his voice solemn as he addressed both his father, Wong, and Amelia's father, Austin, who were seated in one corner of the room. "We need to talk." Wong and Austin looked up, their expressions serious as they realized the gravity of the moment. They nodded silently, signaling for Jin to continue.

"We need to discuss about assembling an army, since we have no idea how big their army is" Jin's words hung in the air as the room fell silent. Both Wong and Austin exchanged a look, acknowledging the gravity of the situation. "You're right," Austin spoke up, his voice firm yet thoughtful. "We don't know how strong the enemy's army is. We need to find out and prepare ourselves accordingly."

"The war which happened 10 years ago also included demons, right?" As Yoongi raised the point about the involvement of demons in the war, both Jin and Yoongi could sense a change in the atmosphere.

Austin's expression grew solemn as he recalled the loss of his niece during that time. "That war took the life of my niece," he admitted, his gaze fixated on the ground. Jin and Yoongi listened intently. "Yes, Amelia shared that with us," Jin said softly. "We never expected her to do something like that, all for power," Austin said with disappointment.

"Do you mind if I ask questions related to that war?" Yoongi asked their permission. Both Austin and Wong exchanged a glance, a silent understanding passing between them. After a moment, they nodded in agreement. "Go ahead, Yoongi." Austin invited, his voice steady but tinged with a hint of sadness. "You can ask your questions."

"What was the reason behind the attack?" Yoongi posed his question, Wong sighed deeply, the weight of the past heavy on his shoulders. "She was also behind my younger brother," Wong admitted, causing Jin and Yoongi's eyes to widen in shock. "You never told us about your younger brother?" Jin exclaimed, struggling to process the sudden revelation.

Wong spoke somberly, his voice heavy with emotions as he revealed a secret he had kept hidden. "He now resides in another country with his children," Wong explained. "I haven't had any contact with him, so I'm uncertain about his well-being." He paused briefly before adding, "His niece was obsessed with him, fixated on possessing him."

Luna entered the room, her voice filled with disbelief and surprise. "But I heard Sophie was in love with a demon!!" Amelia followed suit, entering the room as well. She shook her head in disbelief, her eyes fixed on Luna. "Do you really believe that?" she questioned, her voice laced with skepticism.

Luna responded affirmatively, her voice firm and confident. "Yes, I do," she asserted. "Dracie herself confided in me that her sister, Sophie, was deeply in love with a demon." Austin's voice was tinged with disbelief as he posed a question to Luna. "Are you telling me that you trust Dracie and Sophie?" he asked, his tone filled with skepticism. "They were the cause of all this, and we're still uncertain about what the future holds."

Luna's voice took on a nostalgic tone as she spoke. "I trusted them when we were young. We grew up together, played together," she shared, memories flooding her mind."I acknowledge their mistakes and faults," she continued, her tone steady. "But I am convinced that Sophie wasn't in love with his younger brother. My intuition tells me otherwise."

Austin's voice carried a hint of disappointment as he responded to Luna's assertion. "Very well, then," he said, conceding the point."But it only serves to highlight her wrongdoings," he added. "It proves that she learned black magic from him and unleashed it against us."

Jin's voice broke the silence in the room, as he posed a question. "What became of that demon?" Both Austin and Wong exchanged glances, but their expressions revealed that they weren't aware of any further details. They shrugged in response, their ignorance evident.

Jimin stepped into the room, his voice breaking the serious tone that had been set among the others. "Hyung," he addressed Jin, the worry etched on his face. "I just came back from meeting Namjoon-hyung."

Jin furrowed his brows, a touch of alarm evident on his face as he looked at Jimin. "Is everything alright?" Jin inquired, his voice betraying his concern. "Are they safe?" Jimin's response sent a shiver down Jin's spine. "I think... they know we're here," he said, his voice filled with anxiety.

The room fell eerily quiet as Jimin's words hung in the air. Everyone present exchanged glances, a mixture of shock, worry, and realization washing over their faces. No one dared to speak, the gravity of the situation weighing heavy on their minds.

Amelia's voice wavered with fear, her anxiety palpable. "What do we do now?" she asked, her eyes wide with worry. Wong's voice filled the room, firm and commanding. "First, bring them back!" he instructed his sons. Jin and Yoongi nodded their agreement, their determination evident in their expressions.

Wong's authoritative voice rang out in the room, giving his command. "Jimin, go with them," he said. "You can keep watch from above and alert us if any danger approaches."

Jimin nodded in agreement, his expression resolute as he followed Jin and Yoongi out of the room. As they walked together, Jin and Yoongi shared the warning with their other brothers, making sure everyone was informed about the looming threat.

Namjoon sat beside Isla, tenderly brushing her hair away from her face. In that moment, they were engulfed in their own private world, temporarily oblivious to the dangers around them. The air between them was thick with a silent intimacy, at complete odds with their usual bickering dynamic.

Isla sat closely, "are you being romantic?" Namjoon couldn't help but chuckle at Isla's question, a glimmer of amusement in his eyes. "Maybe," he responded with a hint of playfulness. "Is it working?" he added, a teasing smirk on his lips.

She shrugged, "try harder" She smirked. Namjoon raised an eyebrow at her challenge, his smirk mirroring hers. "Oh, really?" he said, his voice dripping with mock bravado. "You want me to try harder, huh? Challenge accepted." With a swift move, he brought her closer, closing the gap between them. Their faces were now mere inches apart, his breath mingling with hers.

Isla looked at him, "did you ever dated?" He shook his head, "no wonder, you aren't able to flirt." Namjoon chuckled at her quip, his eyes sparkling with playful defiance.

"Oh, so it's my lack of dating experience that's the problem, huh?" he retorted, a hint of amusement in his tone. "I'll have you know, I'm a quick learner. Give me a chance, and I'll impress you."

"I gave you" Isla said with a smirk. Namjoon feigned disappointment, mock sighing dramatically. "Ah, you got me there," he acknowledged, chuckling. "You're right, you did give me a chance."

He then paused for a moment, his expression turning thoughtful. "But perhaps one chance wasn't enough," he said, his eyes fixed on hers. "Maybe I need another chance to redeem myself and show you my true charming side."

Isla stepped closer, "okay then have another chance." Namjoon couldn't help but grin at her response, feeling a surge of confidence. "Well, I'm glad you're giving me another chance," he said, his voice dripping with mock modesty.

He reached out, gently tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear, his fingers lingering against her cheek. His gaze met hers, their eyes locked in a silent, simmering connection. "Just watch, I'll make this one count," he promised, his voice low and seductive.

Namjoon's eyes met hers, the intensity of their gaze unbroken. Time seemed to stand still, lost in the silent connection between them.

His hand slid from her cheek down to her chin, his thumb gently tracing the contour of her jawline. He took a step closer, their bodies now just inches apart. "You know," he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper, "it's hard to flirt when you're looking at me like that."

"Just give up then" She playfully smirked. Namjoon chuckled at her playful challenge, his eyes sparkling with amusement.

"Give up? You think I'd give up that easily?" he teased, his hand moving from her chin to trace along her collarbone. He leaned even closer, his face just a breath away from hers. "I never give up, especially when you're egging me on like this."

Jin burst into the room, his unexpected entrance causing both Namjoon and Isla to jump in surprise. They quickly separated, flustered at being caught in such a private moment.

Namjoon, trying to regain his composure, cleared his throat and awkwardly ran a hand through his hair. "Er, hyung...what is it?" he asked, his voice hinting at his embarrassment.

Jin raised his eyebrows, "you both are dating?" Namjoon and Isla exchanged nervous glances, neither knowing how to respond to Jin's unexpected question. They were both caught off guard, their faces flushing with embarrassment.

"Uh...no," Namjoon finally managed to say, his voice wavering. "We're just...hanging out." Isla quickly nodded in agreement, adding, "That's right, just hanging out. We're just friends."

"Didn't looked like that" Jin's smug grin widened as he glanced between Namjoon and Isla, his skepticism evident. But before they could retort, Yoongi entered the room, his expression serious.

"We don't have time for any distractions," Yoongi stated firmly. He nodded at Jin before addressing Namjoon and Isla, "We need to leave. Now."

"Did something happen?" Namjoon asked, "you were too busy in your romance to notice" Jin said and went out with yoongi.

Namjoon and Isla exchanged guilty glances, realizing that they had indeed been preoccupied in their moment. "Damn it," Namjoon muttered under his breath, frustration evident on his face.

They quickly followed Jin and Yoongi out of the room, their earlier embarrassment giving way to concern. "What did we miss?" Isla asked, her voice tinged with worry.

"It's nothing.. It's not your fault" Jimin assured them, "i just checked from palace, they know we are back and Jin hyung is just teasing you both"

Namjoon and Isla let out a collective sigh of relief as Jimin reassured them.

"So, it's just Jin-hyung being Jin-hyung, huh?" Namjoon said, a hint of amusement in his voice.

Isla nodded in agreement, a small smile tugging at the corners of her lips. "I should have known he was just messing with us."

"Well namjoonaa.. You said earlier one day that you would never fall in love" Jin teased. Namjoon's cheeks flushed a deep shade of red as Jin's words hit a nerve. He had indeed made that claim in the past, stating that he would never allow himself to fall in love.

Isla, standing next to him, tried to suppress a smile, her own cheeks tinged with a hint of pink. "Jin-hyung," Namjoon protested weakly, but there was a glimmer of vulnerability in his eyes.

"Yes what is it?" Jin asked with amusement. Namjoon's expression revealed his annoyance at Jin's continued teasing, but he composed himself, attempting to maintain his composure.

"You know very well what I mean," he retorted, his voice tinged with irritation. "I told you I won't fall in love."

Isla looked at him with an annoyed tone, "so that was just flirting?"

"Wow you can flirt hyung?" Jimin teased.

Namjoon suddenly found himself caught in a tight spot, with both Isla and Jimin's questions aimed at him.

He looked at Isla, the annoyance clearly written in her expression, while Jimin's question about his flirting skills added another layer of embarrassment to the situation.

Namjoon ran a hand through his hair, ruffling it nervously. "It's not that simple," he protested weakly.

"Ah don't disturb him, he looks so flustered" Yoongi interrupted. Yoongi's intervention provided a momentary reprieve for Namjoon, who looked visibly relieved by the distraction.

"Thank you, hyu-" Namjoon started, but before he could finish his sentence, Yoongi raised an eyebrow at him.

"I wasn't doing it for you," he said dryly. "I just got tired of watching you squirm."

Namjoon couldn't help but feel a pang of frustration at Yoongi's dry remark. His eyes narrowed ever so slightly as he retorted, "Gee, thanks for the rescue, hyung."

Isla let out a small chuckle, amused by the banter between the two.
