Small talk
Ch-50
"Luna, is your specialty just martial arts?" Diana asked, after being silent the whole time. Luna turned to her and took her swan clutch out, it changed it's form to a fan. "I have a weapon" she spoke nonchalantly with a smile. Others were surprised except Amelia and Annalise who knew her weapon. "I don't usually use this fan, so not many people know about it." Luna said.
Diana nodded, still a bit in wonder at the reveal. She had never seen Luna use a weapon before, and the fact that it was disguised as a swan clutch all along made her realize how much she still did not know about Luna. "Why do you keep it hidden?" she asked curiously.
"It's not like I hide it. I just am not used to using it. Me and Amelia has these magical weapons." Luna said, looking at the direction of Amelia who took her blade out. Luna continued, "Her blade transforms into a sword just like my clutch into a fan."
Others eyes once again widened in surprise as she turned to look at Amelia. She could hardly believe what she was hearing. The thought that Luna and Amelia both had magical weapons that nobody knew about, and that their sisterhood was more complex than anyone could imagine, made her feel that there was so much more to them than met the eye. With a nod, she turned back to Luna, her eyes still filled with amazement. "I never knew that," Diana admitted.
"It's alright. Honestly I feel so honored to have a compliment from you" Luna said, "I have always admired your cool demeanor and your powers. I always wanted to see your crystal powers by my own eyes. I might see them today or later" she said with amazement.
Diana was taken aback by Luna's compliments, especially the mention of her powers. She had always been cautious about her abilities and how they might be perceived by others. She couldn't help but smile, "Thank you, Luna," she replied humbly. "I do hope you get to witness my powers soon. It's not something I like to show off, but for you, I'd make an exception."
"But be careful. Showing off powers might not harm anyone" Annalise's words were a reminder of the gravity of their situation. While they were in the middle of a war, everyone knew that they shouldn't recklessly show off their abilities. Though showing off powers wouldn't hurt anyone, it could draw unwanted attention from enemies who would not hesitate to harm them. It was a risk they couldn't afford to take. "Annalise is right," replied Diana, her expression turning serious. "We must remain vigilant."
Annalise looked over at Diana, "honestly having you here with us, it's truly like a dream come true. I mean I have heard from people how cold you are, but you don't seem like that. And to be honest, you are the most experienced among us, and the most powerful" Diana listened to Annalise's words with a mixture of surprise and gratefulness. She had no idea that she was perceived as the most powerful and experienced among them, and she found it difficult to believe that Annalise saw her that way.
Diana looked at her and smiled softly, thinking of someone. It's because of him.. he made me change.. Yoongi..
He had indeed been a positive influence on her, helping her become less rigid and more in touch with her emotions. She understood why Annalise had said what she did. "Thank you, Annalise," she replied graciously. "Your words mean a lot to me."
"Can I ask something?" Daisy asked innocently and Annalise turned to her. "What is my use when I can only save someone's life in the war?" she said, looking down with her fingers holding the hem of her dress. "You can save someone's life, that's the job people will need in a war" Annalise said softly, "I have always known since childhood you were meant to save someone, my baby sister" she continued, "you can heal, you have healing powers"
Amelia's soft but firm voice echoed the sentiment, adding a sense of finality to the conversation. " Don't ever doubt your abilities. Being a healer makes you the very backbone of a battlefield. Without you, we'd be at a severe disadvantage." Daisy smiled slightly, still looking down. "But.....I am scared"
Daisy's confession hung heavily in the air, revealing her true feelings. The others immediately picked up on her fear, their expressions growing softer and more empathetic. "Daisy," Luna spoke, her voice gentle yet firm, "there is no shame in being scared. We all are."
The others' gazes softened even further upon seeing Daisy's wide, innocent eyes. It was easy to forget that she was far younger than them, and her fear was more than understandable. "You're still young," Diana responded, her voice soft yet filled with understanding. "It's natural to be frightened in a situation like this."
Isla's words were filled with a genuine belief in Daisy's hidden strength. She knew that despite her fear, Daisy had a reservoir of courage within her, even if it was not entirely apparent."You're braver than you think," Isla continued, her voice comforting yet firm. "Just remember, we are here with you. We will protect and support you."
"And of course your Jungkook is here as well" Luna teased and they laughed seeing Daisy getting flustered, looking down. "You found someone at such age is beyond anyone's expectations" Annalise said.
Daisy's face turned a deep shade of pink as they teased her about Jungkook. It was true, she had indeed found a special someone early in life. Her shy demeanor and obvious affections for Jungkook were too painfully obvious and cute at the same time. Annalise added with a soft chuckle, "We can all see how much you care for him."
"What about you? You also liked his brother even before me" Annalise couldn't help but blush as Daisy pointed out her feelings for Hoseok. She had indeed harbored a crush on him long before Daisy and Jungkook got together. "Fire and water are enemies but here fire prince and water princess like each other" When Amelia teased about fire and water being opposites but attracted to each other, Annalise's face turned even redder, making her look like a tomato.. "stop it!"
They giggled, "but I guess it was Luna who fell in love at first" Amelia brought up Luna's love at first sight, Luna's face blushed furiously. She knew all too well that her crush on Jimin was no secret, and her friends teased her relentlessly about it. "Aish, leave me alone!" Luna exclaimed, pretending to be annoyed. But the others knew she secretly loved all the attention on her love life.
"What about you?" Annalise turned to Aurora, "you liked Taehyung being clingy to you, didn't you?" Aurora's eyes widened as Annalise directed the conversation towards her. She had secretly always found Taehyung's clinginess adorable, especially when he held onto her while they were in public. "What?! No!" She denied, her face turning a rosy shade of pink. But the others saw right through her, giggling as they watched her reaction.
"Well indeed, he was so glued to her. It was love in first sight" Luna teased. "Stop it!" Aurora protested, her face growing even redder. She couldn't help but remember how Taehyung always sought her out, hanging onto her and being protective of her. The thought made her heart flutter. Luna's teasing was not helping, and the others continued giggling at Aurora's reaction. "Admit it, you secretly liked his clinginess," Luna smirked, enjoying tormenting her friend.
"Ahh stop making others squirm" Diana said, they all looked at her. "Why? You also like Yoongi's presence, don't you?" Isla said innocently. Diana's heart skipped a beat as Isla mentioned Yoongi's name. She tried to deny it, but her face blushed, giving her away. "What?! No, I don't!" she protested weakly. But the others knew her too well. They had witnessed how much more open and human she had become after meeting Yoongi, and they knew exactly what that meant. "You do like him, don't deny it!" Amelia smirked, enjoying the rare sight of an embarrassed Diana.
"How can we forget you, princess?" Annalise said to Isla, "you liked it when Namjoon decided to stay behind for clearing with you" Isla's eyes widened in surprise as Annalise brought up her moments with Namjoon. "What?! No, I didn't!" she protested, but her rosy cheeks betrayed her. She couldn't deny the fact that she had secretly rejoiced when Namjoon had stayed back to assist her in clearing. The others giggled knowing Isla's true feelings. "You're not fooling anyone, princess," teased Luna.
"Okay, okay, we will stop except for" Luna side eyed Amelia, "I think her relationship with Jin has softened." Everyone turned to Amelia, who blushed softly under their gazes. It was true, Amelia and Jin's relationship had indeed softened, becoming more intimate and caring. "Yeah, I suppose it has," Amelia admitted shyly, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. The others chuckled, enjoying her display of vulnerability.
Suddenly the door opened, and the boys stood in the doorway, perplexed at the sudden change in the princesses' demeanor. "What's wrong?" Jin's question hung in the air, and the girls couldn't help but look down, feeling a mix of embarrassment and hope. They wondered if the princes had heard any of their previous conversation or teases. But the boys remained oblivious to the reason for the princesses' flushed faces, patiently waiting for an explanation.
All of them sat beside their respective princesses. "Argh!" Annalise stood up, flinching the boys. "I mean, what are you all doing here? You should be practicing" the girls nodded and they all were just confused. "But we just came from-" Hoseok tried to explain that they had just come from practicing, but Annalise quickly cut him off. "Well, you should practice some more!" she repeated firmly. The girls all nodded in agreement, clearly trying to hide something. The boys looked bewildered, not understanding why the girls were suddenly so adamant about them practicing more.
"Is something going on?" Namjoon asked, Isla beside him, make him stand up, "go away and take your brothers away as well.. we are talking right now" With innocent and confused expressions, the boys left. After they were gone, the tension in the air lifted, and the girls breathed a collective sigh of relief. They had managed to send the boys away without giving away their secret conversation.
"Were we little harsh?" Aurora asked and then they all thought for a second. "They came from their practice to meet us. And we sent them back" Luna muttered. The girls paused for a moment, realizing the truth behind Luna's words. They had indeed been a bit harsh in sending away the princes, especially when they had just come from practice to spend time with them. Aurora voiced their collective regret, "Yeah, we may have been a bit harsh... they were probably yearning to see us after their practice."
The girls looked at each other, knowing fully well that they couldn't avoid apologising. They had been the ones who made the princes leave, after all. "Fine, we'll go and apologise, but you should come as well," Luna grumbled, and the others agreed, knowing they were all equally responsible for the situation.
