Off Into The Human World

After a couple days of arranging everything, Garrett made the decision to go into the human world. Sunset gave him good recommendations on what bus to use, and where to stay in New York. "Thanks for all the advice sis," said Garrett as he, his sister, Twilight, Starlight, Ray, and Maud were in the room where the portal to the human world was. "You got everything you need?" asked Twilight. "Yeah, I do," said Garrett, "I'll only be gone for a few days. At the bear maximum, probably two weeks. Maybe three-ish." Twilight chuckled and said, "Take all the time you need my love. We'll still be in Equestria by the time you come back."

"Don't worry Garrett, Sunny and I will take good care of her," assured Starlight, "and I'm sure Ray and Maud would love to spend time with Auntie Twily." Ray and Maud giggled, hugging Twilight as she blushed and giggled. She couldn't help but laugh at the foal's nickname for her. "I want you to have this," said Sunset as she used her horn to lift up a book. Garrett looked at it and said, "Why Sunny, this is your old magical journal that you used when writing to Celestia and Twilight." He looked at it with fascination and interest. He looked at the page where she wrote that she was going home. It brought back such nostalgic memories for him, making him smile. "You can use this to communicate with Twilight when you're out there," said Sunset. "Star Swirl can also give you advice in the journal if you need guidance," said Starlight, "we'll all give you advice." Garrett chuckled and said, "I'm probably going to need a bigger belt buckle to put this in." Thankfully, there was one in his size, and he put it on, putting the journal and pen in a pocket. "Good luck Garrett," said Sunset as she hugged her brother. Starlight hugged him also. "Good luck Uncle Garrett," Ray and Maud said together as they hugged his hooves. Garrett smiled and hugged his niece and nephew. "Don't worry kiddos, I'll be back. You just take care of your aunt, okay?" Garrett said as he kissed their foreheads.  He then looked at Twilight, looking into her violet eyes. "I love you with all my heart, my princess," said Garrett, "I promise, I will come back to you." Twilight smiled and said, "I know you will. Good luck, my love." She then kissed him on the lips, and they embraced the kiss for a minute. Then Garrett looked at the portal, and said, "Here I go..." He then charged into the portal, and went in.

The ride in the portal was bumpy to say the least, but not as nauseating as the time he and Twilight were sucked into the dimension where Dark Heart was exiled. Several minutes later, he found himself outside the portal where the human world was, specifically, Canterlot High School. By now, the statue that had been destroyed by Midnight Sparkle was now replaced with a brand new statue of the school's mascot,  a magnificent stallion. Garrett was in his human form, wearing his usual clothes, a white and grey striped hoodie,  a green Commando Elite T-Shirt, blue jeans, and red and black sneakers. On his left hand, he had a ring on his ring finger. It was his wedding ring. He had his supplies with him also, but his human face remained the same, as if he'd never changed or aged at all.

He got up on his hind legs, they wobbled a little bit, but he was able to keep his balance as he looked at his human form. "Definitely been a while," said Garrett, and he looked around, and saw the high school which hadn't changed a bit. "This is a sight for sore eyes,"  thought Garrett, "but no time for admiring. I'm on a mission, and I better find a train station that'll take me to New York ASAP!"
