Birthday Kiss.

        For PrincesShadeFace ,

"Marny, when are you gonna stop playing and let me take you out on a real date?"

"When  you stop playing around and decide you want a real woman," I retorted  with a small smile and a wink as I brush past my boss, Prince, trying to  make my way over to the empty chair next to Lisa, but he grabs my hand  and pulls me down onto his lap. I giggle quietly as he places a kiss on  my cheek while simultaneously caressing my thighs, "Stop."

"You  know you like when I touch you, mama," His voice dropped an octave  lower, which, had I been standing up, would've made my knees buckle.  Acting as if it didn't faze me, I shrugged slightly, giving him a small  smile.

"I mean, I guess I do."

"You guess?"

"Mmm-hmm."

"Well,  maybe I can change that," He suggests quietly, using one of his hands  to move my hair away from my neck. He places a soft kiss there. I bite  my lip, suppressing a moan.

Good thing Lisa and the others weren't paying us any mind.

"Oh  really?" I reply softly just as the door opened and we were informed  that we had about five minutes before showtime. Prince sighed, and I  giggled a little, knowing he wanted our conversation to go on a bit  longer, "Well, I guess we'll have to discuss this later."

"Yeah,"  He muttered softly as I remove myself from his lap. I lean in and kiss  his cheek, whispering happy birthday to him for the second time. He  smiles and grabs my arm before I could get away, "Thank you. Are you  giving me my birthday kiss later?"

"I just gave you one. What are you talking about?"

"I don't mean a kiss on the cheek, mama."

"Whatever,  P," I tell him, rolling my eyes in a playful manner, but on the inside I  was dying. Being this close to him was all too much for me. We've  flirted with each other plenty of times before, but this time seems a  little...different.

"Was  that a yes?" He asks, his tone hopeful. I just smile, pretending not to  hear him as I get out of his grasp and turn to walk away, joining  Wendy, Lisa and the rest of the band who were waiting for us, "Ah, come  on Marny. Don't do me like that."

"Just  stop playing, P and come on. We've got a show to do," Miko speaks up  before I could even say anything. Prince scoffs and mumbles something  under his breath as he walks over to us, "Don't worry, y'all can make  out later."

"Shut up," He grumbles as we all walk out of the room and make our way to the stage.

Being  apart of the Parade Tour is surreal to me. Almost like a dream. When  Prince asked me to join him on tour as a percussionist again, I knew it  would be huge, but I didn't expect this kind of turnout.

Wow...there's so many people here.

"Don't be nervous," Prince whispers to me as we wait backstage. I smiled a little as I listen to the roar of the crowd.

"I'm not. It's just...there's a lot more people than the last tour."

"Only  a few hundred more than last time," He says softly, a teasing glint in  his eye as he chuckles lowly at the face I'm making, "If you get  nervous, just look at me."

"Okay."

The  moment we finally stepped out on stage and kicked off the show with  Around The World In A Day, my nerves began to settle a little.

And I was thankful that I haven't done anything to embarrass myself so far.

The  rest of the show was a blur, aside from the fact that Prince would  glance over at me and smirk throughout most of the songs. I didn't think  anything of it, but inside, I was a little shocked. He's never openly  flirted with me on stage before, so this was...new.

"Enough  of that tame shit, who wants some head?" Prince boldly asks, the  squeals of the audience encouraging him. This gave us the cue to start  the song.

Wendy  and Miko on guitar, Mark on bass, Lisa and Matt on keyboards, Bobby Z  on drums, Eric on saxophone and flute, Atlanta Bliss on trumpet,  Susannah on backing vocals, and Me on percussion. What a perfect  combination. Even Jerome, Wally, and Greg added a little something  special to this with their dancing and backing vocals.

I remember when I met u, baby

You were on your way to be wed

You were such a sexy thing

I loved the way you walked the things you said

And I was so nonchalant

I didn't want you to be mis-led

But I've gotta have u, baby

I got to have you in my bed

And you said...

And there it was. His eyes were on me again. Singing this song. I couldn't believe it.

"Oh  my God," I mumbled lowly to myself, feeling my cheeks burning as I  watched another smirk form on the corners of his lips while Susannah  sang her part.

I had no idea how I could even continue playing while this was happening. It was too much.

Just breathe, Marny, I reminded myself the moment Prince started the next verse.

You know you're good, girl

I think you like to go down.

You wouldn't have stopped

But I, I came on your wedding gown

And you said, "I must confess,

I wanna get undressed and go to bed."

With that I jammed, you fool,

You married me instead

Now morning, noon, and night

I give u...

My eyes widened. Was he really about to sing this entire song to me?

Oh.

By  this time, I was sure I was beet red. And what's worse is I couldn't  even hide it from him or anyone else. With a not so subtle wink, Prince  turns his attention away from me back to the audience, continuing to give them an amazing performance as if nothing happened.

"Are you sure you don't wanna come with us?"

"Mmm-hmm,  I'm sure," I told Wendy as I found an available parking spot, "Y'all go  have fun. I'm just gonna stay here and get some rest."

"You  should've at least let us drop you off at your hotel," She replied,  sighing softly at my words. After the show, we were supposed to have  dinner or something to celebrate putting on an amazing show and Prince's  birthday, but I insisted on staying behind and driving myself back to  the hotel. I couldn't handle being around Prince.

Not after he sang that song to me.

"I  know, but I just wanted some time alone," I respond, walking  into the building and mouthing a quick hello back to the hotel  receptionist as I head for the elevator. I press the button to call it  and wait.

"Alright.  If you change your mind, call me and I'll let you know if we're still  here or if we decided to go somewhere else," The elevator dinged and the  doors opened as she says this, making me quickly walk in and press the  buttons to close it.

"I will. I'll talk to you later, okay?"

"Okay,"  she muttered as I made it to my floor. I removed the phone from my ear  and pressed the button to end the call, totally missing whatever else  she was trying to say to me.

I  sighed softly, taking the key card out of my purse and slid it, just  wanting to go inside and rid myself of my thoughts about what happened  tonight. The second I opened the door and walked inside, there was  someone already sitting on the couch waiting for me. I could feel their presence. My eyes widened as I  felt around the wall for the light switch.

"Just  leave it off," were the only words I heard after a few minutes of  silence. Realization settled over me immediately as I silently willed my  heart rate to slow down.

What is he doing here?

"Who  let you in?" I asked, shutting the door behind me. He probably smiled,  but I couldn't see it through the darkness of the room.

"Come here." He muttered, ignoring my question completely. I sighed softly.

"Prince, I don't thi--."

"Shhh,  I'll come to you," His quick response startled me as he interrupted  what I was trying to say to him. Before I knew it, his hands were on my  waist, pulling me closer to him. His voice dropped an octave lower as he  whispered, "You never gave me my birthday kiss."

"I told you, I already did. Besides, It's after midnight. Everyone is probably looking for you."

"I  don't care. I'm where I should be," He mumbled before pressing his lips to mine. I was in shock at first, but after a while I became a little more comfortable as my lips moved with his.

Our  heavy breathing and soft moans were the only sounds that could be heard in the hotel room at the moment. Prince's hands ventured lower to my behind, giving it a light squeeze, making me gasp quietly against his  lips.

"Prince," I whimpered, my hands gently gripping his shoulders as his lips moved to my neck, placing soft kisses there.

His warm breath on my skin...his hands giving my behind another light squeeze...it was all too much.

I knew this was wrong, and I should probably stop it before things go any further, but it feels so good. So right.

"Jump,"  The word was so low and husky as it left his lips I almost missed it.  Almost. I shook my head, my eyes widening slightly, making him chuckle  against me. He pulled back to survey my face, "Just do it. I've got you,  baby."

"Okay.  You better not drop me or it's your ass," I warned before jumping into  his arms. My legs tightly wrapped around his waist as if I were made  just for him. Like I belonged to him. I shuddered at the thought as he  held me firmly against him and carried me to the bedroom. I knew then  that I was safe and he wouldn't let me fall.

Once  he laid me down on the bed and our clothes were finally off, I  couldn't help but think this is happening. This is real. I didn't want  it to end. Prince's body on top of mine brought me back to the task at  hand, making me focus on what was going on now rather than being in my  thoughts.

I just hope that he doesn't regret any of this in the morning, because I won't.
