Rosette & Sean's Story

^^^Video is an example of a Competitive cheer team, for your viewing pleasure. (You can view at anytime) Just an Idea of what Sean and Rosette trained for in high school.

Rosette:

"Hey Rosette! Wait up!" Sean yelled from across the hallway. It made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

Why oh why did Coach B have to make HIM my stunt partner?

Future Gamma of my pack, and the loudest, most high energy person I've ever met.

I huffed as I slowly turned towards the guy who zipped past everyone, surprisingly not hitting a single person. His wild red hair flaming a top his head. It didn't matter how much I tried to avoid him. Some how, he always managed to find me.

"Rosette?" Sean breathlessly puffed out. "Why didn't you wait for me?" He looked down into my eyes as he searched for answer.

I tightened my hold on my gym bag. My body felt so warm all of a sudden. I tried to take a deep breath to cool down before I responded.

"Sean, it's a little hard to walk around the school with you. You know loud noises and big crowds make me nervous." I whispered that last part.

The only reason my mother forced me to join the cheerleading squad was to get over this fear.

It's helped.

A little bit.

Sean narrowed his eyes on me. "What does that have to do with me?"

Before I could answer, a group of guys came up behind Sean. They loudly joked about the latest gossip about our rival school.

Time to escape.

While Sean laughed out loud, distracted by his football playing friends, I quickly moved around the corner to the gym.

————————————————————————

"Rosette!" Sean yelled my name so loud until it echoed off the gym walls.

Coach B rolled her eyes. "Sean! Enough! She's right here." She thrust her finger behind her. "Jeez Sean. Can't you keep your cheer voice for the outdoors?"

"Sorry Coach B..." He dropped his gym bag and quickly got in position behind me. "I just got worried that's all."

I rolled my eyes and Coach B shook her head.

His hands moved to my shoulders rubbing them gently.

"You're always so sneaky." His warm breath against my ear made me shiver.

"Stop it Sean!" I loudly whispered as Coach B began with her usual announcements.

"So sneaky... like a tiny, cute little kitten." He continued on, which lead to the stunt couple next To us to snicker.

I turned around and gave him the eye. I had no time for his distractions right now. We had nationals coming up and I needed to stay focused. Well WE needed to stay focused.

He crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow back at me. By the time I rolled my eyes at him and turned around, Coach B was already finished with her announcements.

Great. I missed everything she said.

Everyone began warming up with their partners as I turned to Sean and huffed again.

"What did I do to deserve so many Rosette huffs today, huh?" He leaned in close making my whole body tense.

What is up with me?

"Let's just warm up okay? Coach B says we've got extra stunts this week for the game against the Northern realm."

I started my stretches as a wide grin spread across Sean's face.

"Yes! We get to go all out. I love when we play against other werewolf schools." He was rolling his neck and hoping up and down impatiently, while he watched me.

I giggle at his silly smirk. Why does he have to be so cute lately?

"Okay Little Kitten. Let's make you fly." He pulled me up so I was standing and yelled out to Coach B.

"Coach! Which stunts do you want us to practice?!"

All eyes turned to us. My face immediately going red. It's been 2 years since Sean and I were paired together and no matter what, he's never dropped a stunt. EVER. Some say it's powerful were-genes. Some say it's because I'm so tiny. What most don't realize is how much time Sean and I spend practicing. Sean may come off as a go with the flow type of guy, but he's a really hard worker. Many hours I've spent on the castle lawn, perfecting our stunts and tumbling, so Coach B would allow us to try more advanced moves.

Coach B narrowed her eyes on Sean, testing him. She slowly moved in front of us as I got ready for it. In true Coach B fashion, she started rambling off one move after another, with a different dismount for each one.

With each lift, I felt my body react to his touch like it never had before. Little sparks running through my body. It made it hard for me to focus.

"There Coach B!" Sean yelled as he caught me in his arms on the last dismount. "Can we work on the new stuff now?" He whined. I was quick to hop out of his arms.

"Excuse me Coach B, I got to get some water." I said quietly as I walked over to the gym bags on the other side of the room.

What is going on with me. I don't like this one bit.

I chugged my bottle of water, trying desperately to cool myself off.

Buzz buzz

Mom:

Lord Ethan said we're in the clear to have your party on the castle lawn! Isn't that exciting. :D

I rolled my eyes. I never wanted a large party, but there's no way my mother would ever allow it.

I try to think of a nice way to respond to make her think I'm excited.

I'm about to start typing when I feel Sean's presence suddenly behind me.

"Whoa! Your birthday is coming up? Why didn't you tell me?!"

I turn around and shush him, covering his mouth before anyone could hear.

He furrowed his brow at my reaction. "What? You're turning 18 right? Aren't you excited to find your mate?"

I rolled my eyes at his response. Typical of the were-men to forget what 18 means for the rest of us.

"It's not like that for me Sean. Once I'm mated it means moving out with this stranger, starting a life with him. Doesn't matter what I want to do in life. I'll be doing whatever my mate needs to support our home and family. Its kinda scary..." I mumbled out. Pushing by him to head back to the mats.

————————————————————————

Sean was quiet for the rest of practice. I can't believe I actually miss his loud and obnoxious jokes.

He offered to walk me home, like he usually does. We were nearly at my house when he finally broke the silence.

"Is there something I can do to make your birthday special?"

I stopped and looked up at him. "What do you mean?"

He shrugged and continued walking. "I just feel like a bad friend that I didn't think about how you might feel about your birthday. I guess it is different for the females. I never thought about that."

I sighed. "Well it's not all bad..." I smiled up at him while we walked. "... who knows. Maybe I'll end up with a mate who finds my strengths and helps me build the skills to be better. Someone who will push me a little, hold my hand when I'm scared. Someone who I know will hold me close at night so..." I immediately stop talking.

What am I saying right now? I can't believe I'm telling Sean this, of all people.

I clear my throat and open the gate to my front lawn. "Sorry, I didn't mean to—"

Sean interrupted me. "It's fine Rosette. I don't mind listening. I can listen you know." He lowered his voice on that last part and leaned into me.

Making me giggle. I fish the keys from my bag and start to open the door.

"Sean?"

"Yea." He looks at me confused.

"Are you planning on staying for dinner or something?" I chuckle as I watch his smile grow wide.

"I'd love too. Thanks for the offer."

I rolled my eyes. Somehow he always managed to join in on our weekly family game nights. My mother can never say no to him and honestly with him on my team, we usually win.

"Oh come on little Kitten. You know your mom loves me and I know you like winning."

I push the door open and my mom instantly bypasses me to hug Sean.

Since when did he become the favorite?
————————————————————————

One more month.

I just have to make it, one more month.

"ROSETTE!" Sean yells from across the football field.

He runs as fast as he can to meet me. Lifting me up and spinning me around. "Jeez Little Kitten. What took you so long? Coach B thought you were hurt." He looked down at me. His eyes glowing slightly. "Wait... are you hurt?!"

I chuckled. "No Sean. I'm fine. My dress fitting just took longer than expected."

He shrugged it off. "Ok. Well. Hop on." He turned around and I hopped on his back while we ran towards the buses.

Sean stopped in front of the football team's bus. "Hey Prince Eli, you think Sarah is going to come cheer you on?"

He rolled his eyes. "Doubtful Sean. I don't think she's my mate, that's just some stupid rumor."

Sean shrugged it off.

"I don't know Bro, I think if I had some clue about my mate, I'd be all over that. I mean why not? You're almost 18 anyway."

The guys chuckled as my face turned red.

I quickly wiggled off of Sean's back and threw my bag underneath the bus, running up the bus stairs, hiding in my cheer jacket at the very back of the bus.

I realized Sean was my mate when Vik came to see me in my dreams a few nights ago. We ran all over the woods chasing fireflies. He's so full of energy, so powerful, also totally playful and Cuddly.

Smiling like an idiot out the window I don't even notice Sean slam his body down next to mine.

"Why you sittin' all the way back here?" Sean leaned back in his seat throwing an arm over my shoulders.

Why must he always be touching me?

I shrugged his arm off of me. "Well if you don't want to sit back here Sean, there's plenty of empty seats up there." I pointed towards the font of the bus before turning back towards the window. I was trying my best to ignore the lovely chocolate covered strawberry scent that left me a little dazed if I let myself breath in too much at a time.

"Whoa, is everything okay?" He asked me quietly as he leaned closer to me.

Agh. I can't handle this.

I push him over. "Will you stop Sean!"

Everyone turned towards us, eyes wide. I knew what some of them must be thinking.

I cleared my throat. "Im sorry- um- coach B, Sean was just telling inappropriate jokes again."

Sean rolled his eyes and stood up. His face twisted in frustration as he moved to the seat next to Karen.

He glared at me while I glared back.

—————————————————————-

The rest of the ride was, well, horrible. I felt like my heart broke every time Karen laughed at one of Sean's jokes.

Serves me right.

I sighed as we left the field for halftime. I had hoped to escape to the restroom before Sean tried to catch me for our typical half time drill of nachos and soda. He basically devoured the nachos and I drank most of the soda.

I was just about to make it around the corner when I heard my name and smelled the chocolate strawberry smell. My body had to stop. This invisible force pulling me towards him was nearly impossible to deny.

"Rosette, come on..." he said between breaths. "...we gotta talk."

I smiled up at him like an idiot watching his green eyes sparkle and his red hair fly all over the place.

I peeled my eyes away. "What about? There's nothing to talk about."

I barely whispered it making me sound like the least confident person ever.

Sean rolled his eyes at me and ran his hands through his hair. "Rosette. Seriously. What's going on? You can talk to me. Is it your party? I do have some connections you know?" I looked up at him as he wiggled his eyebrows and I couldn't help but laugh.

We joked all the time about how his Gamma duties felt like a lot of work with the least amount of benefits.

"No Sean. It's not my party. Just forget about it okay?"

Sean frowned, staring at me intently. I smiled back at him but he backed away slowly. Standing taller, crossing his arms.

I bit my bottom lip nervously. Why the sudden shift in his demeanor.

"You found your mate, didn't you?" He looked at me with disappointed eyes.

I avoided his eyes, "Well- um- "

He sighed, and turned back towards the field, "Its cool Rosette. I'm happy for you." He smirked at me over his shoulder before heading back to the field.

I felt the tears sting in my eyes as I rushed into the bathroom. These overwhelming emotions, it was nearly too much for me to bear.

Post Birthday Celebration:

Rosette:

"Here mom! One last bowl of food leftover." I called out to my mom as we continued to clean up the mess after the party.

I was exhausted from avoiding Sean all night, and even more tired thinking about what I was going to do for the next 23 days before his birthday.

Actually, now it's 22 days.

Sean took Vik out for a run with some of the other guys right after the party ended. I was grateful for it. I needed the break. I needed a break from his scent, his eyes, his smile. His perfection.

"I spoke to Gamma Reese and Lord Ethan." My mother stopped what she was doing, and turned to face me. She stopped me in my tracks.

I shrugged, "about what?" I tried to avoid the topic.

My mother sighed. "Rosie, you can't ignore the obvious. Sean is your mate and he turns 18 in three weeks. Gamma Reese and Lord Ethan send their blessing." She smiled warmly at me. "I think we all had our suspicions once you joined the team."

I tried to return the smile. I wish I could be as excited as the other girls at school who found their mates.

My mom closed the trunk to the car and looked around. "Want to wait and say goodbye to Vik when-"

She was cut off by my body flying into hers.

What in the world?

I turn around to see a wolf behind me. Vik?

He cocked his head to the side and whimpered at me. I giggled with how cute he looked.

"Vik?" I asked as I walked up to the wolf staring back at me.

He yipped and pushed me with his snout again. Softer this time.

"What do you want Vik?" I chuckled as I stood up and moved around him. Inspecting him. He looked exactly like the wolf from my dreams. I patted his soft fur as he purred in response. He could barely sit still. I could tell he wanted to play.

"Playful, isn't he?" A deep voice said spoke up from behind me. I jumped, startled.

"Gamma Reese. I'm sorry, I didn't realize you were there." I held my head down and tried to hide my rose colored cheeks.

He chuckled. "Sorry to scare you...." He stepped forward petting Vik's head before turning back to me. "... he just wants to play with you. He probably wants to chase fireflies or something like that."

I smiled at Vik. His eyes glow brighter than any other wolf I've ever seen.

"Want to show me the fireflies Vik?"

He rushes up to me, his paws stomping the ground while he stood in place. Yipping and bouncing. He was really excited.

My mom laughed and Gamma Reese shook his head side to side, smiling.

"Okay Vik, bend down..." I quickly swung my leg over him and hopped on his back. "... show me the fireflies!"

Vik yipped and rushed forward. I turned around waving goodbye to my mom and Gamma Reese. My whole body felt more alive as I rode on his back, zipping around tree and hopping over branches and rocks.

This is exactly where I belong.

Sean's 18th birthday:

Sean:

"Do you think she's going to come?" I asked Vik in my head.

"Mate will be here. Always here." Vik replied quickly.

I huffed. Rosette has been avoiding me ever since her birthday. Now I understand why. I spent all of spring break following my nose all over pack land until I ended at her house.

"Give mate cuddles Sean! Find mate!" Vik barked out at me.

"I will Vik! Calm down!" I yelled back.

This is our regular argument now.

Knock knock

I swung open the door to see Ryan, Skyler and Prince Eli.

"Not mate!" Vik roared in my mind.

I rubbed my temples as they followed me into my room.

"Hey Sean, how you holdin' up?" Prince Eli asked me with concern in his eyes.

I glared back at him. "Just perfect." I mumbled. "I haven't seen Rosette all week and I have no idea if she will be here tonight."

"Oh Rosette will be here. Will she come out of hiding? That I don't know..." Skyler smiled at me. "We went shopping a few days ago for an outfit for tonight. I know she's coming."

I furrowed my brow. "Why would she hide from me?" I looked over at Ryan who had Skyler in his lap on my desk chair.

Ryan chuckled, "Sean, you might be coming on a bit strong. Rosette strikes me as a quiet, shy type of girl. She might need a gentler touch. You know?"

Prince Eli and Skyler both nodded in agreement.

"Mate CUDDLES NOW!" Vik was bouncing in my mind.

I growled back at him.

"How gentle can I possibly be, with Vik acting like this!" I gritted out.

"Mate need cuddles!" Vik was ready to break free and find her himself.

I can feel Prince Eli's hand on my shoulder trying to calm me. Out of all the wolves in my back, mine has always been the hardest to control. He can be so stubborn, so high energy.

I heard Ryan's deep voice through the fog. "Rosette will help you with Vik. I'm sure. That's why she's your mate."

I took a deep breath in.

"Okay Vik. I will make it my mission to find Rosette ok? Just please calm down." I pleaded.

Vik growled inside my mind before settling down.

"Yeah. I hope she's good with Vik." I mumbled.

Skyler jumped up from Ryan's lap and squealed while looking at his phone. "Rosette should be here in 20 minutes!"

I hopped off my bed and ran out the door.

"We wait for Mate at Door!" Vik yipped in my mind.

"YUP! That's the plan Vik!" I yelled back at him.

------------------------------------------------------

I finally made it to the front door only to find her mom standing there talking to my parents. I frowned. If I wasn't forced to stop by every person walking down the hallway on the way here, I wouldn't have missed her.

"Hello Son. Enjoying your party?" My Papa pulled me in to a big hug.

"Well, actually-" I cleared my throat to stiffle the angry growl Vik was sending my way for not finding Rosette in time. "-I was looking for Rosette."

I turned to her Mother. "Jasmine? Do you know where she went?"

She shifted uncomfortably for a moment. "I think she might be a bit nervous Sean. She sort of took off as soon as we got here and-"

I stopped listening. I focused on the smell that Vik sent my way. I closed my eyes and tried to weed out all the other nasty smelling people who decided to show up at my party, making it hard for me to find my mate.

I checked my phone, 11:00PM. Great.

I wouldn't be able to keep Vik at bay for much longer.

I took a deep breath in and began my search. Reminding myself that she would need a "gentle touch" and not to scare her the moment I find her.

I slipped through the crowd, pushing past the line for drinks and food.

I made my way around the dance floor, through the hallways, near the bathrooms.

No. Luck. Anywhere.

"WHERE IS MATE?!" Vik roared in my brain while I chugged three more cans of beer.

I growled at him in my head.

I sat on the grass on the front lawn, hidden behind rows of cars so I wouldn't be bothered. Her scent seemed to end somewhere out here but I couldn't pin it down.

I got up. Brushed off the grass and stood determined to walk back into the castle tearing it apart stone by stone until I find her.

"Okay vik. No more games. We're finding her. Now."

Vik yipped in response.

I walked in the front door, closed my eyes and searched for her scent again. The hallway? The female quarters? I pushed past anyone or anything in my way.

I slammed open doors, I kicked them open if they were locked. One room after another I broke into. Females were shouting at me, cursing me under their breath as they tried to fix their doors or race to get clothes on.

I made it to the end of the hallway with no luck.

I roared out loud making everyone nearby stop what they were doing to turn and watch me. I felt my eyes glowing as I moved down another corner and stopped in front of a door that looked slightly open.

I slammed the door open forcing a few frames  to crash onto the floor. Glass spreading everywhere.

The scent was so strong in here but I didn't see her anywhere.

I growled again walking back out into the hallway when I swore I heard her laugh. I quickly followed the beautiful sound to another room, and there she was.

Chatting away with Queen Madeline, and my Papa.

She gasped when she saw me. She almost looked scared. My papa was frowning and Our Queen looked at me with worried eyes.

"Vik we're scaring our mate..." I tried to calm him, and myself.

"NO! Mate can't be scared..." Vik's voice got softer as he said it.

We all stood staring at each other when The Queen and My papa finally excused themselves.

I rushed over to Rosette the moment they left the room and wrapped her up in my arms.

When I pulled her away, she had tears running down her face.

I frowned and tried to wipe them away. "I'm so sorry I scared you Rose-"

She cut me off with a kiss on the cheek. "You could never scare me Sean."

She smiled and blushed.

"Why the tears?" I asked curiously as I held her close again.

"These are happy tears. I just Love you so much." She burried her face in my chest again.

I lifted her up in my arms, wrapping her legs around me. I kissed her with all I had. I was gentle at first, but she was desperate. She opened her mouth granting me entrance to taste her flavor right away. Whimpering the moment I took her lip between my teeth. I held her tighter, running my hand through her hair and pulling slighty making her moan my name. I growled as I kissed her chest forcing her hips to grind against me.

I quickly put her down. "We need to get to my room. Now."

She bit her bottom lip and smiled big. I quickly picked her up bridal style and made my way through the hallways avoiding the stares from everyone.

I whispered down at her, "Really Rosette, I promise I will try to keep Vik under control..."

She held my face in her hand, looking up at me. "Honestly Sean, he's nothing I can't handle." She smirked at me, raising an eyebrow, before running her thumb across my lips.

I growled so low and deep, I surprised even myself.

I smirked down at her as I kicked opened my door. "Wow Kitten, you're full of surprises aren't you."

She blushed again.

"Mate Beautiful." Vik mused.

"Perfection Vik, absolute perfection, and she's all ours."
