After an awkward meeting with, Eli, the son of my dad's boss, the adults finally let me off the hook. Can this castle be any bigger?

My permanent room isn't ready yet, so I'm staying in a guest room on the top floor. It's actually really pretty. I feel as if I walked into the pages of a fairy tale.

Can I get me a prince charming while I'm at it.

It's like staying at a really fancy castle hotel. I mean, I assume this is what it's like staying at a really fancy castle hotel.

Jennikah: ok, so, I'm assuming you're dead now because I've received no castle pictures!

Me: boo, cool your tits!

I decide to flood her phone with pictures. I take at least 10 selfies of me smiling and giving a thumbs up next to all the furniture and stone walls. I take a couple on my giant princess bed, that's what I'm calling it. It looks like something out of a Disney Princess movie, and I love it.

What can I say? I'm pretty girly.

I walk into the hallway taking a few more photos of the old paintings hanging on the stone walls.

Right when I was about to take my signature duck face selfie, hair falling in my face making me feel like a super model, I hear footsteps walking up the staircase behind me.

I quickly spin to see a tall, well tall compared to my short 5 foot 4 inch self, athletic looking guy. He must have been about 5'9? He was so pretty. I was mildly jealous of his perfectly crafted gentle facial features and perfect hair.

Wait how did I hear him from so far away? Great. My weirdness is suddenly getting weirder?

Crap, I've been staring for a while, I plaster on a smile.

"Um, hey." I half wave as he slows down inspecting me. His eyes gloss over slightly, before his eyebrows suddenly perk up. His whole face changes as a big perfect grin spreads across his face.

"Oh my! Hey! You're Jessica right?" He quickly pulls me into a hug which I slowly relax in to. I really enjoy friendly hugs.

He smells like, warm cinnamon rolls. Whoa, yummy.

"Well I usually by Jess, but yes! Hello! Nice to meet you." I respond into his chest.

"Sky!" Another deep, husky voice distracts us from our embrace.

He shoots a glare to his right, as a giant beefy looking guy stares daggers at him from an open door at the end of the hallway.

He quickly backs away from me, running a hand through his perfect brown hair, as he pouts his perfect pouty lips.

I'm one jealous bish at the moment.

"Sorry, I've got to go, but I'm Skyler by the way..." I nervously look over at the beefy guy staring daggers into us. What the heck was his problem? He looks like he might stomp over here and throw this guy over his shoulder.

Still kinda jealous...

As if sensing my nervousness, Skyler leans down and whispers, "That's Ryan, and don't worry about him. He's just pissed I haven't given him enough one on one time today." He says raising an eyebrow.

Immediately I blush, oh my god. My virgin ears.

"It's always the big bad guys who need so much attention." I say as I chuckle and he rolls his eyes.

"Sky...." was big bad Ryan beginning to whine?

Adorable.

"Big bad boys just have more to love though..." Skyler wiggles his eyebrows at me, as I bring my hands to my lips. I'm sure I was beet red blushing right now.

"See you soon Jess!" Skyler waves as he hurries into Ryan's arms. Ryan plants a kiss in his forehead before pulling Skyler inside quickly and slamming the door.

Pretty sure I heard growling and chuckling.

I let out my giggles as I quickly run back to my room. Awesome! Made a new friend.

I'm totally winning at life right now.

Although I don't know if his boyfriend likes me. He also looks like he could hurt you, just, by looking at you. That was one scary guy.

I look at my phone and frown, no response from Jennikah?

But WHY? I need to tell her all the things! She knows she's my only friend right?

Sighing I decide to add some color to my wolf sketch from earlier. I don't need much, just something for the eyes.

Those eyes I get lost in at night...

I shudder as I grab my pencils, slowly adding a little shine to my wolf's eyes.

Eli:

"SHUSH!" I glare back at Sean who is really the last person I should have had come with me. Volume control is not one of his strengths.

He shrugs and steps back, "Sorry man, I just don't get why you want to break into your dad's office. Can't you just ask him for whatever you want? I mean, do you know what I'm missing back in my room right now? Rosette. Rosette is in my room, probably with very little clothing on because of this summer heat..."

I pinch the bridge of my nose, "Just, don't worry about it ok? I'm just curious about something..."

"about mate." Ember perks up.

Sean whispers, "Oh yeah, Sorry. I forgot you haven't found your mate yet..." I shrug it off as he bends down pulling out his trusty tools.

"Tell him about how pretty mate is! pretty pretty hair... I want to touch it!" Ember is going wild again. How am I possibly going to keep him in check?

Sean looks back up at me, "You think Ember will help you find her? Eventually right?"

"Probably..." I mumble. My anger slowly building again. After leaving Jessica earlier I only got more and more upset at my parents. How could they have let something like this happen?

Sean suddenly stops what he's doing, and we both freeze for a moment. There's mind-link coming in.

'Pack meeting for all warriors in 10 minutes, remember HUMANS are on the land. Keep were abilities to a minimum.'

Both Sean and I groan. "I hate when Humans come to visit... Vik is driving me crazy already..."

I keep my back turned, keeping watch, "humm." I really don't want to talk about my mate and her family right now.

Sean quickly opens the door and pushes it open with a big smile, "After you my Prince." He makes a grand gesture as he follows me in.

He can sense something is up with me, "Yo, what's up with you? You seem a little tense."

I sigh, not really wanting to talk, "It's nothing ok, I'm sure my dad will make some sort of formal announcement soon anyway."

Sean furrows his brow at me.

I start throwing open file cabinets, quickly looking over files.

Sean is doing the same, I told him I needed the file on the Hemberg family.

"Bro!" Sean suddenly yells as if I'm human or something.

I glare at him again, "Sean..." I loudly whisper, "Can you just try, just a little bit, to shut the fuck up?!"

He glares back at me, holding up a bright red file, "fine, if you don't want this file on the Hemberg Family then I'll just take it for my own..."

I quickly cut him off and snatched it out of his hand.

Sean crossed his arms over his chest and stared at me.

I shrug it off, "What?!" I bark back.

Vik, Sean's wolf is coming to the surface.

Crap.

I take a deep breath in, calming myself, "Sean, I'm sorry, ok? I just need to take some photos of this stuff so I can get some info..."

Sean cuts me off, holding up his hands, "It's fine man, whatever. Just remember, YOU owe me..." Running his hands through his hair in frustration, "Rosette... Summer heat... Little clothing... and now..."

He checks his phone, "only 8 minutes." I smirk, as he growls at me. "Payback man... One day..." He shakes his head and turns to walk out the door when he suddenly stops.

"I hear someone..." Sean actually whispers this time. Thank you Vik for giving Sean such excellent hearing. He picks up the folder, thrusts it into my chest and pushes me behind the desk. I bend down knocking my head and my shoe at the same time. Crap. Why is this desk so small?

"BE quiet!" Sean whisper yells at me.

I flip him off from under the table.

"You were being loud Eli.." Ember chastises me.

I roll my eyes and shake my head.

"Hey Dad!" Sean yells out loud.

"Son? what are you doing!?" I can hear Gamma Reese growing more concerned as to why Sean, of all people, would be standing in my father's office.

"Listen, Dad, just chill out ok? Prince Eli was just here and told me to lock up for him. See?" I can hear him slowly closing the door and locking it.

Gamma Reese seems to approve of this excuse because I hear them continue down the hall.

"Hum, ok Sean... " Reese is apprehensive, but continues, "I've been meaning to talk to you about a situation we have going on with the pack right now. Prince Eli and Ryan already know..."

"hear that Ember? Looks like my Father is already spreading the word..."

"I think we go find mate and cuddle her until we feel better..." Ember whimpers in my head.

"We can't do that Ember, we might scare her away."

"Why did mate's family leave pack?" Ember starts rambling questions. He can be so inquisitive sometimes.

"Not sure Ember, that's what I'm trying to find out."

I quickly return everything as it was and head to the meeting hall so I can start reading as I wait for this warrior meeting.

The first page catches my eye immediately. It's a small note written on the the edge of Micheal Hemberg's file;

'Mate: Linda Fallbrook- not suitable.'

I furrow my brows trying to understand what that means. How could a mate not be suitable for their partner?

I continue reading through Micheal's personal record with the pack. He was supposed to be my Father's beta. Interesting.

"Someone's coming.." Ember whispers in my head. I can tell he's trying to be quiet so I can focus.

"Thank you Em."

I see my father walk in with Beta Warren and Micheal. They seem to be having a great time so I quickly plaster on a smile and tuck my phone in my pocket.

"I want to see mate again..." Ember starts his whimpering.

"Not now, later"

"Just don't be so dumb around mate so she like us." Ember snarls at me. Still peeved at me for the horrible first impression I made.

"Shut it Ember, it's hard to focus when she's around ok?"

"You just think too much.."

I growl at Ember in my head, as my father ushers me forward. Looks like it's time to play Prince for a while.

I do my best to sit through this warrior meeting as my dad announces the arrival of the Hemberg family and explains how Micheal will soon find his role here within the pack. There's cheers and roaring from most of the crowd.

I look from my father to Micheal and Beta Warren. What are you guys hiding?
