Jess:

I watched out the window as I saw all the trees pass by us. Everything was so green and sparkly here. The wild flowers that grew off the side of the road added just the right amount of color to the green misty back drop.

I was a little nervous about this move.

Unlike our other moves, we were moving to a small town in the middle of a forest. The entire place seemed to be surrounded by greenery and wild animals. I tried to stay giddy by thinking about all the new plants and animals I could draw. I could hear all the pretty sounds of different animals scurrying around already.

All this combined with my father's slight smell of rich dark chocolate and my mother's hint of fresh baked sugar cookies has really set the tone for a delicious ride.

I hope this place has a bakery near by.

At least this quirk allows me to hear and smell some beautiful things.

This quirk of mine started about a year ago. My sensitive hearing and my sensitive nose. My parents took me to multiple doctors before finally giving in to my complaints about all the tests. Something inside just told me I shouldn't worry about it. I see it as a gift most days.

"Jess, baby, could you grab my ID card." My father's deep voice always surprised people. He is a bigger guy, but his voice has always been so deep. Especially when he's nervous.

Why was he so nervous about this job?

"Micheal, Honey..." My mother's sweet voice speaks up as she ran a hand through my father's hair, "...You ok?"

"Are you?" My father stole a glance at her, as he turned his glare back to the front window.

What was going on with these two.

I quickly looked away as I noticed the giant, something, out the window. What is that?

A castle? Ok, yeah. That's a castle.

I watch in awe as we begin to travel down the worn cobblestone road. The castle looked like something from a fairy tale. Large stone walls with green ivy growing up and down the dark, damp sides of the massive building. It sat in the middle of a large, lush green lot. The front yard area looked massive, filled with outdoor games and picnic tables. A top the tallest tower of the castle, which I counted three towers in total, was a large purple flag with a gold crescent moon emblem. It looked beautiful and also mysterious.

I must draw this castle later.

As we approached the gate, I noticed a small little cottage peeking out from behind the building.

Curious... Why have a house near this giant castle?

The closer we got, I noticed a small school house sign.

A school? How cute is that! I wish I had gone to school next to a giant castle.

The giant gate surrounding it, was being guarded by men who didn't look too friendly. I probably shouldn't judge.

I'm sure they could just use a hug.

I handed my father his ID card as we pulled up to the gate guard.

"Hello sir, may I help you?" The guard asked as my father handed him the ID card. He looked pretty young to be on guard duty.

"Yes, we're the Hemberg Family..." The guard's eyebrows shot up. He cleared his throat before my father could even finish.

"Of course sir, drive straight up the road. Marcus will help you with your things." My father nodded in response, grabbed his card and pulled forward.

I lean forward so my parents could fully hear me, "So, what's your job this time dad?" I tried to sound not as curious as I am.

As far as I knew my father helped businesses get off the ground. We move from place to place every few years as my father builds up these business. I don't really mind the moving, except it doesn't make it easy to keep friends.

My mother cleared her throat, "Well, honey, why don't we talk about that some more after we get settled hum?" Same answer as it has been for the past week.

Buzz buzz

My phone vibrates.

Jennikah: Hey boo! You there yet?! What does your new place look like? Is it big? Is there anything to do around there? I'M DYING AND HAVE ZERO PATIENCE!

Me: So far we're driving towards a castle. I'll call later and fill you in on all the juicy details k?

Jennikah: WHAT THE F?! A castle? are you seriously going to leave me with that? Where are you again?

Me: Shush- ill call later! Go hang out with Ben for a bit. Let him entertain you.

Jennikah: First off, Ben is busy. Second, A CASTLE?!

I smile as think about my one true friend who has been there for me all these years. Even though my parents don't always approve of Jennikah, I still stay close with her. I couldn't ever figure out what it was that they didn't approve of, she's been nothing but kind and sweet to me ever since I met her that day at my father's job site.

I surprised him with his favorite lunch and I ran into Jennikah. Literally ran into her. I dropped all the food I brought for my dad on the ground and she felt so bad. We ended up laugh crying about how clumsy we both were. We've been best friends every since. She turned 18 about 4 months ago, that's where she met Ben. They've been inseparable ever since.

I'm still hoping my parents will let her come visit for my 18th birthday next month.

She's going to come regardless, I'm sure.

I sigh, reminding myself to trust my mom and dad.

This is just another adventure. My final adventurous summer before I head off to explore the world.

I know whatever reason they had to make this move must have been important. They spent so many late night hours talking about it, and when they finally came to me to tell me we were moving again they said it would be our last and final move. I had so many questions that night, not one was fully answered.

I look down at the sketch I had been working on for nearly the entire 3 hour drive from the airport. The giant white wolf, with crystal clear Blue and gold eyes from my dreams. I can't seem to get this wolf off my mind, not since a few months ago. He shows up in my dreams, warm and snuggly, but also really playful. I've always had a small obsession with wolves.

My werewolf book collection on my kindle is a little embarrassing.

I smile to myself as we pull up to this castle and I flip closed my sketch book. I open up the car door looking at the place we're supposedly going to stay for a while. I was nervous, but more excited than anything. A huge smile spread across my face as I hopped out of my dad's giant truck and ran around the car to grab my luggage.

Marcus insisted I let him carry it for me, but I felt bad watching him carry so much stuff. I sighed as My mother wrapped her arm around my shoulders, pulling me close. I noticed something in my Dad's eyes. It was different. A sort of golden glow as he had an awkward smile plastered to his face. My mom on the other hand looked nervous as she tried to force a smile. I frowned at their odd looks but followed my dad into the giant foyer anyway. I guess I'll just have to wait until we 'get settled'.

Walking into this enormous castle, I was in a daze. All the hallways looked so wide, and the doors seemed so large. The stairs were also larger and wider than anything I've ever seen in any other house we've ever lived in. It was going to take some serious effort to get used to walking up and down them. Walking anywhere in this massive place was going to take some getting used to.

Where the hell are we?
