(( Marco's POV ))

I heard someone calling out to me.

"Marco, Marco, Marco!"

The voice was soft and gentle at first, and I was enchanted by its sweet melodic voice.

But it became harsh and stern at the third time. The voice sounded anxious, afraid and scared.

I opened my eyes and exclaimed, like how one usually wakes from a nightmare.

But no sound came out.

I could open my eyes, and I recognised the surroundings as the exact same hall the Enchantress and I fought it out.

Except it was now deserted.

That wasn't the only thing that was strange.

I wanted to move around, get up from my uncomfortable position, but I felt like a log, I couldn't even move an inch.

I felt paralysed. I tried to move, but just couldn't do it. I felt rooted to the ground.

Is this how it feels like to be in a coma?

"Marco!" the voice called out again.

I tried looking around, but it felt as if my head was stuck in place.

"Marco, I know you can't move your head, but listen to me, I'm behind you," the voice stopped, "It's me, Star."

"Star?" I tried to call out.

"Yes I can hear you. We are now communicating over telepathy. The Enchantress might be able to lock our bodies and control our minds, but she can't stop our thoughts. We are limited to the view in front of us, and it so happens that I'm just behind you, so I can just see your back."

I felt like laughing.

"Uh okay Star, so this is it? Are we going to be stuck here forever?"

" I don't know about that, maybe Dad will update soon, but meanwhile, can you like help me observe the door for any movement? Because, all I can see right now is your back, and it's kinda of disturbing. Although I must admit oh do have a nice back view."

I felt relieved and happy at the same time. Here we are, the two of us laughing and talking again, just like the normal times.

I retorted back, "So you are saying I have an awful front view then?"

If I weren't paralyzed and all, I would have smirked in front of her face.

Like 'look Star I just won the conversation' smirk.

"I must admit you also have a nice back view..." She paused.

If I were looking at her, she would've seen the obvious red blush on my cheeks.

I kept quiet.

Ugh I was overreacting.

"This is ridiculous. I want to see the look on your face and just laugh," I heard the sound of hysterical laughter.

I laughed back.

---

Seriously, we didn't know what was happening. There was no one at the door, and we kind of just talked like that through telepathy for quite a while.

I didn't feel any fear or sadness. I'm fact, I was happy.

And that was when I realised, all along, I have been so depressed, was because of just one reason.

Not for a reason, but for just one person.

Star.
