5 Years Later

Both M/N and F/N took turns taking care of their son, most of the time. They'd leave early from their jobs to switch roles as the caretaker.

Growing up, Little Y/N was always an energetic child. Always keeping his parents in their toes, running around the house, giggling when they play games with him. He was their little bundle of joy.

Unknown to both of them, one day would make Y/N experience something that'll make him dance along the boarders of Life and Death itself

We go to Y/N's household, right now his mother was taking care of him while his father was out doing his police duty's. Y/N was in the living room, watching TV as M/N was in the kitchen making a little snack for the two of them.

LittleY/N: Mom? I don't feel so good

He said as he held a hand to his temple, feeling a little lightheaded. His mother heard him and walked out of the kitchen, she walked over and put a hand to his forehead. Feeling his temperature

M/N: You don't feel hot, How do you feel son?

She asked as she sat down next to him. Y/N layed down, putting his head on her knees. M/N gently ran her fingers through his short H/C hair

Y/N: I feel tired, very tired.

This worried M/N a bit, for as long as he was able to walk. Y/N was always an energetic and fun child. Running around the house, playing with his cousin when he decided to come over for a playdate. But today, all she noticed was Y/N sitting on the couch, watching TV the entire time.

M/N: Are you hungry? Maybe a little nap? Does any of those sound nice?

She asked him but all she received was a tired no. Maybe he was sick? What if it was serious?! She wasn't going to take any chances and today was perfect since she wasn't called in for any hero work.

M/N: Just to be sure, we'll go to the doctor. Go put on your shoes

She said but Y/N Whined

Y/N: Awwww mom. Why?! Whenever we go for a checkup or something I get a shot. I hate shots!

M/N chuckled a bit, this was like her son.

M/N: But there so you don't get sick in the future. Their good for your health, do you wanna get sick?

Y/N: Well.... if I get sick. I won't have to go to school and I'd just need some bubblegum medicine and BOOM! All Better, so yes, I wanna get sick

M/N laughed a bit at his odd way of avoiding school

M/N: Nice try son, now go get your shoes so we can go

Y/N wines but reluctantly leaves to his room, As he gets ready. M/N gets her things, her purse with her car keys. She also calls her husband, informing him of where their going.

As they get in the car, M/N drive them to the closest Hospital there was. As she stops at a red lights she looks on the middle mirror to see at the back, she sees her son sleeping already.

M/N: Maybe that'll do him some good, I hope it isn't anything serious.

After a few minutes, she pulls into the parking lot of the hospital.

M/N: Y/N? Wake up, were here.

Y/N Shifted in his sleep but didn't wake up, M/N Noticed that he was more tired them usual. She got out of the car and open his door and leaning in

M/N: Y/N? Come one, you wanna leave as soon as possible? Let's just get this over with so we can go home.

Very weakly, Y/N half opened his eye lids to see his mother

LittleY/N: M-mom, tired..... very t-tired...

He quietly said, this worried M/N even more. She unbuckled his seat belt and carried him. She carried the 5 year old in her arms and hurried in, arriving at the check in at the front door. As she walked in the front door, it had a few people here waiting in the waiting room. A few with kids themselves, but she called ahead and made an appointment. She went to check in, seeing a female receptionist waiting

Receptionist: Hello, can we help you?

M/N Shifted Y/N in her hold, then answered

M/N: Yes, I have an appointment. Names M/N L/N and please tell him its urgent

She said quickly as the receptionist nodded and picked up her phone to call the doctor. M/N went to sit down in the waiting room. A few minutes of waiting, Y/N is still asleep in her arms, but the door opens and a male doctor with a clipboard leaned out the door

Doctor: M/N? Were ready

M/N nodded as she sat up and carried a sleeping  Y/N with her. They walked for a few second until The doctor opened the door to a room and M/N walked in and placed the sleeping boy on the little bed they had.

The doctor closed the door and focused on M/N who was sitting down next to her son with a hand on his forehead.

Doctor: Okay, what seems to be the trouble M/N?

He said as he walked over to be infront of the bed, the room they were in was a bit bigger. And had everything a doctor needed if anything were to happen.

M/N: It's my son, he was always an energetic child. Having fun with me or my husband, or with his cousin when he visits. But today, all he did was stay on the couch watching TV.

The doctor hummed in acknowledgement as he pulled up a chair and sat next to her. Writing notes down on his clipboard

M/N: And when I was in the kitchen, he said he didn't feel well. He said he felt tired, barely able to move much. During our ride here, he fell asleep in the car, and when I parked. He was to tired to move, even walk.

The doctor hummed again as he stood up

Doctor: I'm gonna call in a nurse, she'll help me do a check up on him. I'll do a little examination on him, with your permission I'd you'll allow me to

He said and M/N agreed immediately, the doctor then calls in a nurse and immediately they begin to get ready. The doctor moves Y/N's shirt a bit up to show his chest while the nurse readies a few machines.

M/N watched in worry for what could he happening, the doctor plugs in some medical plugs on his chest while the nurse turns on the heart monitor. But what they saw scared the doctor and nurse, the heart monitor was beeping slow, very slow.

Doctor: Give me a reading

He asked the nurse quickly as she went to the machine and printed out a piece of paper with the reading happening on Y/N's body.

The doctor reads it as both the nurse and M/N are holding his breath

Doctor: T-this can't be...

He said in shock which frightens M/N

M/N: W-what do you mean?

She said shakly, she was getting scared now. The doctor turned to face her

Doctor: I don't want to alarm you M/N, from a Health's perspective. He's a healthy 5 year old boy, but these readings... his heart is slowing down, and that's not good. If it slows down even more, his heart can stop and he could die.

This scared her so much she was practically trembling in fear

M/N: T-then do something! Your a doctor right!? Give him something! Anything! Just save my son!!

Doctor: Ma'am I can't!! I told you already! He's healthy as can be! He doesn't have any sickness or diseases of any kind! This is something medicine can't heal, I'm unsure of what's happening. His body is slowing down and----

But the frightening sound happened when they heart the heart monitor go flat

Immediately the doctor ran to Y/N's side, along with the nurse.

Doctor: His hearts stopped! Get me the defibrillator Now!

As the nurse rushed to the defibrillator machine, wheeling it over. M/N was frozen with fear, it was happening. Her son was dying right before her eyes, she was too scared to move

The nurse gave the doctor the defibrillator as she turned it on, the doctor then rubbed the two pads together

Doctor: 3....2...1... Clear!

And he shocked some electricity into him for a chance to 'Jumpstart' his heart. But then Y/N woke up, gasping for air, all 3 of them were shocked to see that happened.

But M/N didn't care as she pushed past the doctor and hugged Y/N to death

LittleY/N: M-mom, can't breath....

But she didn't let go, but eased back a bit to let him breath. Y/N looked around the room in confusion

LittleY/N: Uh... mom? Where are we?

He asked as he looked around the room, but when he saw his mothers face. He was not a little worried to see her crying

LittleY/N: Mom, your crying? Are you okay, what happened?

But M/N shook her head as she wiped the tears away from her eyes

M/N: Your just scared me, you silly little boy

As those two had their moment, the doctor was pondering on what just happened

Doctor: He was healthy, as healthy as can be. But his heart was slowing down until it stopped. But when I used the defibrillator on him, he woke like nothing happened

His eyed moved to the heart monitor, it was now showing a normal heart rate. This made him think more for what could have happened

Half an hour later, things have died down a bit. Right now, F/N has arrived and now they were both in the doctor's office. The doctor was sitting behind his desk, and infront of him sat Y/N in the middle, to his left was his mother and his right was his father.

F/N: I understand that he's okay... for now. But what exactly happened doctor

M/N: Yes, and how can we prevent this from happening again? This was too close

She finished as all 3 waited to see what the doctor would say. Y/N was still baffled that he actually died and was then brought back

Doctor: Well, the only thing I can think of is it has something to do about his quirk

F/N: His quirk? Did he manifest one already?

Y/N was getting excited from hearing him manifesting his own quirk already

Doctor: Yes, and I believe it has something to do with electricity. You F/N, your quirk allows you to turn the damage from your opponents into your own strength right?

F/N nodded as the doctor eyed M/N next

Doctor: And you M/N, your quirk can allow you to control the weather. But which one do you mostly use?

M/M: Hmm, lightning mostly. Its quick and can incapacitate a villan without hurting them to much to cause serious injuries.

Just then, the doctor snapped his fingers

Doctor: I knew it, your quirk young man is a combination of both your parents quirk. In short, your a living battery

: Living Battery??

The 3 said intrigued, as they listened to the doctor explain some more.

Doctor: Yes, and a good theory to your son's energetic personality. He's happy and cheerful because he's, in a way, fully charged. But like what happened today, getting very tired and sleepy, almost resulting in his death. Is exactly like a Battery running out and becoming empty, and when I used the defibrillator on Y/N. I sort of charged his battery which is why his scans show he's healthy and fully awake now

The two parents pondered, looking at each other. The doctor's theory is spot on and explains many, many things.

F/N: Okay, so his quirk is something about electrokinesis. And when he's getting too tired to move, its means he needs to 'recharge'. How can we do that? Just bring him here to get electrocuted by you every time?

Doctor: Hmm, not especially. Most quirk users have their own ways of getting what they need themselves if the quirk is tied to their health. My advice? Just experiment. Try things out, maybe he can suck the electricity from devices or maybe can suck on Battery like their candy. I'm no expert, but check in with me once a week if you learned anything that can help us figure this out. Until we know how your son's quirk works, then yes. I'll have to use the defibrillator to, in a way, recharge his batteries.

The parents nodded and thanked the doctor again for saving their son and also giving some very good advice. As they drived home, Y/N was thinking of ways to get more energy, Stick a fork in a electrical socket?

Naw, maybe too dangerous. Maybe his cousin Kaminari can help him? His quirk is electricity based too, but his quirk isn't tied to his health.

One thing for sure, he has a lot of experimenting to do
