19 - Infiltration
"I don't feel comfortable around here, Vincent."
"Well, that's our only way in, mon amour. Don't worry, I have your back."
She sighed, cutting the line with him. What did she agree on?
Chamber had a deal to make with one important future client. However, he did not just want the money for selling guns to him, he wanted to steal the information he had about Kingdom Corporation. This client is very important within this company so he had to have keys to access some shady data about Kingdom. Why did Chamber want that? [F/n] had no idea and questioning the French man would not get her anywhere. Yet, here she was at this stupid dinner party or whatever because he kindly asked her to.
[A/n] sighed again, having had to dress up and put on some make-up for the occasion. It was really not something that she was used to and she did not feel comfortable. In spite of all, Chamber's pleading face when he had asked was too hard to resist.
The woman walked alone aimlessly in this party. She had to play the dumb, shy woman, acting like it was her first party - which was in a way. She had a glass of champagne in her hands, turning it between her fingers as her eyes traveled the room.
"Looking for something, my lady?" a male voice said behind her.
She acted surprised, jumping slightly like she had not expected him to come with the two men next to him. It was the client's children. "Sorry, Miss, we didn't mean to scare you. But you looked so lost."
[F/n] looked down, blushing a little. "No, no, I apologize for being so rude! I was actually looking for someone, yes, but I can't find them anywhere," she chuckled, readjusting her formal outfit.
"We can help you. What's your name?"
"Rose," she lied, a shy smile gracing her lips.
"What a beautiful name," the first man said, walking closer to her. She took a step back when he did. "Would you like to have a drink with us?"
"But... You said you would help me find this person," she stumbled upon words, frowning.
"We can always go search for them after a drink or two?" the last one insisted.
Were they trying to get her drugged or something? In any case, she should not get close to them despite them being Mr. Jawkiller's sons. "I'm sorry, misters, but I'd rather find-"
"Don't be so stiff!" they continued to insist, getting slightly pissed. [A/n] tried to find Chamber to escape from this situation. Once, she spotted him, she walked towards him, the three following closely. She hid behind Chamber so he could shield her from the three strange men trailing her. Vincent looked behind his back with a surprised look, then up to the people bothering his lover.
"Is there a problem, Messieurs?" he asked with a smile, putting an arm around [F/n] protectively.
One of them stepped in. "We were just offering a drink but I think we scared her."
"Is that your woman?"
Chamber chuckled, shaking his head. "She's my cousin. She's very shy and has a difficult time warming up to strangers." He observed them, immediately noticing that it was their target's sons. They were all in their twenties, one close to thirty. They had a bad reputation with women as they enjoyed spending time looking for easy prey to get their hands around.
"Vincent," she whined behind, holding onto his vest. Chamber was not used to seeing her shy and clingy like that, it was adorable. He knew she was just playing but it did not change anything.
"Don't worry, Rose. I'm here. You're Mr. Jawkiller's sons? I am Vincent Fabron, his new business partner."
The faces they made when he told them his name were priceless. They turned pale, realizing their big mistake. Out of nowhere, someone else appeared and stood between Vincent and the three men. "I apologize on behalf of my children, they seemed to have bothered this lovely lady over there."
It was him, Jawkiller. He had quite the strange name but it fitted his reputation to break people's jaws when they did a single mistake. He wore a black and white suit, black hair neatly brushed to one side of his head. He extended one of his gloved hands to [F/n] who flinched away. She looked up at Vincent who nodded with a smile. Then, she placed her hand in his and he kissed the back of it. Her cheeks darkened at the delicate and romantic attention. Jawkiller turned upward when he saw this. He also had a bad reputation with women, not as bad as his sons' but what he did was often worst.
"Let me make up for what my sons did to you. I feel bad for having you go through all this." He kept holding onto her hand, placing his other on top gently.
She hesitated to speak and just tightened her grip on Chamber. "Monsieur, we do not want to bother you for this misunderstanding."
"I must insist. The youth our days do not realize what they're doing. So, what do you think, Miss?" His eyes kept wandering on her body which disgusted her but she had no choice.
"Alright... Is Vincent coming?" She tried to sound convincing, unsuspicious. They did not want to be detected so close to their main objective.
"If Mr. Fabron wants to join us, it will be a great pleasure." They could tell that he agreed half-heartedly.
Vincent turned to [A/n] and stroked her head. "I'm sorry, Rose, I can't follow you. I have some people I still need to greet."
"But, Vincent..."
"You'll be fine. Monsieur Jawkiller is a great man, you can trust him."
The target smiled at Vincent's statement, believing he had the upper hand at the moment. "Okay... I'll see you later."
Chamber nodded and kissed the top of her head. This kiss was sincere, letting her know that he would be here right away if something was to happen. With a squeeze of his hand, [A/n] left and walked side by side with Vincent's future client.
Jawkiller led the woman upstairs to what seemed to be a living room. The furniture was some typical rich men things, lacking any personality. The chandeliers cast a nice dim light in the room as the night had already fallen, the moon hidden behind clouds. The man gestured one of the expensive-looking white chairs and she followed his lead.
"Would you like a drink, Miss... Rose, was it?"
"Yes, Rose, and I'm fine for now, thank you, Sir." Like she would drink something this man pour himself.
He let out a low chuckle, then came to sit on the white couch next to her. "Call me Jean. I don't want any formalities between us." He put a hand on her thigh which made her flinch. Disgusting.
"Alright, Jean... How did you meet my cousin? He never talks to me about his job so I'm kinda curious."
The woman tried to make him talk while she prepared a plan to enter his office. "You don't know what your cousin's business is about?" She answered with a shake of her head. "Well, it might be for the best. He wants to keep you out of anything dangerous."
"Dangerous?" She frowned, leaning towards him in disbelief. "I thought he was selling some sort of product."
"In a way, yes. But business is always a scary and dangerous field, delicate flowers like you shouldn't get involved."
He was getting on [A/n]'s nerves. With a pout, the woman turned away from him. "He always gives me the same stupid excuse..."
The rich man laughed, stroking her leg. "I'm sorry, Rose. Don't get too mad at us for keeping secrets."
She let out a sigh. "Alright..."
Suddenly, she became nervous, looking down at her feet then to the door which caught the man's attention. "Do you need anything, Rose? You seem bothered." He brought a hand to her cheek, his thumb rubbing against her soft skin.
"Oh, mh... Do... Do you have a bathroom somewhere?" Playing the innocent little girl was difficult for [F/n], especially when she just wanted to take out her gun and shoot this man's head, but Chamber would be very mad at her if she did.
He let out a small laugh and let go of her -thank god. "Of course. When you go out, go left and it'll be at the end of the corridor."
Standing up, she nodded and thanked him with a slight bow of her head. [A/n] stepped out of the room and hurried to the bathroom. Once she closed the door, she turned on her camouflage. "Alright, Chamber, I'm going in."
"Cameras froze... now."
She stepped out immediately after, closing the door carefully. "I'm out."
Chamber put the cameras back on again from his remote control. "I have checked around you, the office door should be opened and the computer is on. You can go in and out easily."
She let out a sigh of relief. Quietly, she moved quickly towards Jawkiller's office, sliding inside the room through the small free space between the door and the door. [A/n] scanned the area, not feeling any immediate danger around her. She walked towards the computer which was opened. It seemed awfully too easy.
The female agent went through his files, trying to find any interesting documents. She fell upon a secured file. When she tried to open it, a window popped on the screen asking for a password.
"Chamber, I need a password."
Chamber stepped away from the group of people he was talking to, apologizing. "Try his birthday."
"Really?" She did it anyway but it didn't work. "It's not working. Two tries left. It's only numbers as well."
What could a simple-minded man like him put as a password? "Is there nothing around that can help you?'
[A/n] looked around on the table, trying to not move any papers. Then, she noticed a picture of him with someone that was wearing a Kingdom Corporation jacket. "When did he first start at Kingdom?"
Chamber pondered for a moment, trying to not look suspicious as he grab a glass of champagne. "Try 25052035," he told her before drinking his glass. If they were both right, they should have access to the file.
"Bingo."
The French man let out a sigh of relief, relaxing a bit more. Now, [F/n] just needed to upload everything on the driver. She plugged it in and dragged everything to the USB drive. It was said to take three minutes. It should be a reasonable amount of time to wait without looking too suspicious. The woman took the time to look around in the hope maybe that something could be useful to Vincent. Suddenly, her sense of danger woke up. She put her hand on her gun behind her and carefully watched her surrounding. However, she could see nothing but what she felt made her feel extremely uncomfortable. She felt like eyes were glued on her, judging her. She had the feeling it was the same eyes that had been watching her for a few days now. How did they follow her here? The strangest thing was these eyes felt both foreign and familiar. Then, it left. As fast as it arrived, it had left the room, the room was calm again. She heard Chamber's voice in her ear as he called for them worryingly.
"I'm here, sorry. I'm almost done," she finally answered him, going back to the computer. Thirty seconds left.
Chamber hummed and got ready to leave. As soon as his lover was back with their target, he would need to go pick her up before something went wrong.
Once the upload was finished, she unplugged the driver and put it back in her pocket. As carefully and quietly as before, she hurried back to the bathroom, hiding in the shadows so her own would not be too noticeable. "Chamber," [A/n] called out for him. Once she had his green light, the female agent went inside and took off her camouflage. She properly cleaned her appearance and headed back to Jawkiller. The rich man was still there with two glasses of champagne on the small table.
"Ah, Rose!" he exclaimed, standing up. "I was afraid you had run away. You took quite some time."
"My apologies, Jean, I didn't mean to take that much time." She faked her laugh, sitting down at the same spot as earlier. "I should leave, I know my cousin had some other business to attend tonight."
This did not please the man. His cheerful-looking face turned to an angry one. "Oh but, my dear, you can still stay. We will drive you back home later."
The woman bowed her head politely, tensing up a bit. "I must insist, I would rather leave with Vincent."
He let out a heavy sigh and handed her the glass of champagne. "Drink this before you go."
There had to be drugs in there. "I had too much to drink already, Jean."
He leaned closer to her, a hand on her leg. "Drink."
[F/n]'s hand instinctively reached her back to grab her gun. It was becoming a bit too tense for her liking but if she shot him now, Vincent would be in big trouble. Suddenly, the door of the room was slammed open and Chamber stood in the doorframe. The sight of her savior made her feel better instantly.
"Monsieur, I am sorry to leave like that, but we have to go," he stated, looking between the two of them. He hated how close they were. If only he could, the man would be dead.
Jawkiller grumbled and sat back down on his couch. "Alright. I hope to see you soon, Rose." He glared at her, socially pressuring her because he thought he was the only one in a position of power.
Without another word, [A/n] stood up and joined Vincent. She muttered a thank you when she was behind the strong back of her lover then they both left, Chamber's arm was around her shoulder protectively.
Finally, they were out of the mansion and in Chamber's car. The woman let out a heavy sigh, relaxing her tense muscles. Vincent let out a chuckle, stroking her hair gently.
"You did amazing back there. You're quite the actress I must say," he said, trying to lighten up the atmosphere.
She leaned in his touch, closing her eyes. "Yeah sure. I almost got molested, drugged, and raped, but I'm alright." She shivered at the thought, the disgusting hands of this man on her made her want to throw up. "Let's go to the hostel, I'm tired." She leaned against the man's shoulder, closing her eyes. The latter hummed and started the engine to drive off to their room for the night.
It was quite a fancy hostel - which wasn't surprising knowing the French man. They were sleeping in one of the most luxurious rooms. If she was honest, she felt really awkward and out of place at first, but the bed was so comfortable that it made her forget this unpleasant feeling.
Without showering first, the woman launched herself onto the bed and spread her limbs across the mattress. "I missed you, bed," she mumbled against the pillows happily.
Chamber chuckled and sat down next to her, taking off his vest and tie. "You prefer the bed to me?" he fainted being hurt, wanting the woman to cuddle him, but she did not move.
"Yes."
To say it got him angry was an understatement. He picked her up and placed her on his lap. The woman squeaked, not expecting him to lift her up this way. Her cheeks darkened as she looked down at his devious expression. "We'll see about that~" he leaned forward and bit her neck making her shiver.
