⚜️8⚜️ - Charity for Avarice
⊱Les riches deviennent plus riches, les pauvres deviennent plus pauvres⊰
Rich gets richer, poor gets poorer

Joy blossomed in my chest as I watched people chat with each other about aiding in children's surgeries. The charity event was in full blast, successfully motivating people to reach out their helping hands. Many lives were concerned after all.
The wealthy men dressed in sharp suits voiced out their wants to help children in need of fund. If my father was here, he definitely would have donated millions immediately.
My father...
Another sensation I was all too familiar with gripped my heart, spreading cold shivers through my veins. Decades had flown by but there was still nothing I could do to help him. Each day, I gnawed on my lips whenever I was alone or in heaven, running my mind, trying to find a way to get him out of hell.
Sometimes, I felt guilty for walking around freely like this while he was there. He made me what I am today. He worked tirelessly to make me live without worries, but now, I couldn't do anything to give back.
After overseeing that the event was successful, I teleported to another one where people were bringing awareness to education for children in very rural areas. It was surprising to see Greed there, watching the presentation.
"Hey, angel." He smiled as I walked up to him. "Is this your doing?"
I shook my head. "I'm happy they're helping people. I didn't think I'd find you here."
He breathed out a laugh, leaning his back on the wall behind him. "Charities don't actually help. Except ones like this. People should work for themselves instead and should stop being fed by other people."
Appalled by his words, I turned to frown at him. "Money is flowing to where it is needed. There's no harm done."
"It promotes toxic and parasitic behavior and such," he said so confidently. "Again, I'm not talking about all charities."
I scoffed in disbelief. "How so?"
He grabbed my hand and our surroundings shifted as we stood outside. He pointed to a shabby house located in a cemetery. Children clothed in dirtied rags pranced around, playing with each other from grave to grave. It was too much of a heartbreaking sight, my eyes slipped to the side, unable to see further.
"They were given a new apartment, the parents a new job and many people donated to send them food. Do you know what happened?"
I shook my head.
"They complained that what they received were not enough. An insult, as they described, compared to well off people are living. Then, they came back here willingly instead of appreciating what they received." Jimin sighed in amazement. "Not all charities end up well. Not all rich people donate. Why should people's hard work be wasted on those who seek to use others for their life? If they can't feed their children, why did they have them in the first place?"
"That's Sloth and Pride," I clarified. But I couldn't deny him entirely.
"Not only that, people embezzle money from charities too. No one really checks where they spend charity money in the end. There's a whole network for that." Our surroundings changed again as we came back to the event and I didn't realize he hadn't let go of my hand the whole time. "See those politicians?"
I lifted my head up to see where he was pointing at. Exuberant men and a few middle aged women laughed loudly with each other, waving their gilded hands, watches and rings catching the dazzling lights.
"The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. The rich hoards all the wealth and opportunities. People like them are around the top of these pyramid schemes. Not only politicians, they come in all types of professions."
Clenching my jaw, I slipped my hand out of his hold. "I know that already. You shouldn't remind me that."
He bent down, face nearing mine. "Did I accidentally upset you?"
I shook my head. "No. But I didn't ask for this. And I know you didn't ask for this, either."
My hand flew up to smack his shoulder, earning a yelp followed by a laugh from him.
"I don't deal with sinners of greed lightly if that might ease your mind," he confessed, but that did everything but ease me.
"I-It's alright. Please be lenient with them as much as you can," I said with a chuckle, rubbing the place I smacked on his arm, earning a suspicious look from him, eyebrows furrowed.
"Are you for real?"
"I'll see you around." I sighed before teleporting far from him.
