Everything was a blur. One moment your childhood friend, the one you thought was dead was being swarmed by Endeavor and Rei while Touya stood protectively in front of you and his siblings. It was all too much to take in and all you can do is watch as Kaen tried to make his wings small as possible and lift his hands up submissively. All this time though he never moved his eyes away from you. You were looking back until Touya moved to stand directly in front of you and glare at him

"Who the hell are you?" You really hope he was compliant because if he truly was Kaen you didn't want to lose him again

"My name is Kaen Hanarabi. I am from Magnolia where Y/N is from." Ah well, it wasn't like he was spilling secrets everyone in the room already knew where you had come from.

"How the hell did you get here? What are you doing in Japan?" That's a good question and you wanted to know the answer to it as well. You gripped the back of Touya's hero costume and peeked under his arm to look at Kaen.

"I am here on a business trip I can show you my card, I'm a pro hero in Magnolia. Also, you left your window open so I just flew in." You watched as ice and fire danced dangerously amongst each other and around him creating a sacred dance. It was mesmerizing and you would have focused more on it if you weren't so concerned with your well-being of Kaen at the moment.

"You don't make any sense. You're here on a business trip but yet you just fly into a random window of a building that clearly belongs to top pro heroes? What's the agenda here? Don't lie, I don't have the patience." Even though the tone wasn't directed towards you, you still flinched. If there was one thing you couldn't handle was being yelled at or scorned or disciplined by anyone you gave a shit about. Worse feeling in the world. It was quiet as Kaen looked between him and you since you slightly maneuvered your head around even though the only thing visible was your eyes.

"I'm supposed to be dead. I and Y/N are childhood best friends and Hironori - I'll assume you guys know who that is based on the way you're acting around her- damn near killed me. My face was split open and if it wasn't for a blood transfusion quirk I'll be six feet under. The only reason she doesn't recognize me is that it's been almost five years since I saw her. I tried. I tried so hard to look for her. I literally went to neighboring countries. It was too late though when I found out that Hiro had you until you escaped. No one wouldn't tell me anything. I asked the damn commission, your family, peers, acquaintances the creepy old man that stalked you God I almost sold my soul to the devil to find you. I missed you so much. It was by fucking luck that I took this trip here. I wasn't planning on finding you here I still thought you were in Magnolia or a fucking island somewhere. Never would I have thought I will find you here." He let out a laugh that sounded more like a choked sob. When he finally looked up his eyes were bloodshot with tears and he had a sense of desperation to him. "I need you to believe me Y/N. It's me Kaen you know. You used to call me Kiwi because-"

"your favorite fruit is Kiwi." You finished for him and decided to step around Touya and walk up to him. You felt them all eyeing you but, you weren't scared. You doubted very seriously this was a trick you were 90% sure of. You needed to know one more thing to seal the deal and if it wasn't then you have three pros that can save your ass. Plus you can defend yourself pretty well anyway.

"You remember!?" His voice had a pleading, desperate tone. You saw how his hands and nails flexed wanting to grip you and his wings move and flutter as to wrap you up as he used to when you were kids. When the bullies were too much to handle when the home was too much to handle when life was too much to handle. He was there to give you a sense of security, a blanket of protection.

"I need to make sure of one thing." You were face to face with him now, you searched his eyes and all you saw was a pleasure, desperation, confusion, love, disappointment, and a whole other array of emotions that was too much to handle at the moment. "What was the last thing you gave to me?" You never told a soul about that. It was something precious to you that you needed to be stingy about. Not even Hiro was able to pry it out of you.

"An octagonal pendant on a silver chain that had a picture of us the day we went to the carnival for the first time and a mini recording of me going chirp chirp." Before you could register what you were doing you jumped on him clinging like white on rice. He responded immediately wrapping his arms and wings around you shielding you from the other people in the room. The force of the hug sent the two of you to the ground but, you could care less. All kinds of noises were coming out of you from happy chirps to hisses, to shrills to sobbing and chuckling. It was some ugly noises but, Kaen was no better. You felt him kiss all over the top of your head, forehead, and cheeks and it brought you back to when you were 15 and he was 17 and the two of you would argue and fight. Then whoever fault it was would come to apologize by giving pecks to each other. At one point you thought you were going to have forever with Kaen but then everything went to shit when Hiro got in the picture. That's the past though, all you got to do is focus on the present and the future.

"Childhood best friends?" You momentarily forgot about the other occupants in the room. You tapped Kaen to let you go and he did albeit reluctantly. He allowed you to turn to look at them but, was insistent on you staying in his lap which you didn't mind in the slightest. It just brought back memories of how the two of you would sit by the well or a river and just talk for hours.

"Yeah! He told me the one thing I never told anyone else about so I believe it's Kaen. Besides, he looks, sounds, and acts the same way he used to." You were trying to soothe them but they all seemed very wary especially Touya with the way he was glaring at him. It's understandable though. Imagine a best friend you thought was dead comes into your life almost five years later in a whole different country while you're battling amnesia? Fucking insane.

"I still don't trust him. He had no business coming in here-" Touya was cut off by a sheepish chuckle. You looked to see Kaen rubbing the back of his neck with a blush while looking off to the side

"you're right I had no business coming in here. I'm lucky I wasn't killed or apprehended on the spot with no questions asked. I just...got way ahead of myself when I saw Y/N and just couldn't think rationally. All rationale left my brain and I am truly sorry for intruding like this. I will gladly let you talk to my bosses and supervisor as well as have me checked by police or a lie detector. Anything to prove that I have no ill intent." You watched them waiting for a response and were happy when they all deflated just a little.

"I'll believe you for now. I'm going to call All Might and ask him to bring in Tsukauchi. Give me your card. You are to stay here until I am done calling your supervisors to make sure that you are in fact telling the truth." Kaen quickly fished into his pockets handing his card over to Endeavor who took it wordlessly and went to his office with his three youngest following closely behind him. Now here you were alone with him, Touya and Rei and you could feel the awkward attention.

"You could let her go. She needs her space." Kaen looked over at Touya in surprise before looking between you and him curiously.

"Oh! Don't worry Touchan, I and Kaen used to do this all the time so I don't mind." Despite the twinge in his heart, he felt that the man in front of him had a nickname and he didn't get to hear Kiwi he still looked at 'Touchan' with a smug smirk who in turn gave him a heated look.

"Let me know if you change your mind." Touya wasn't sure what bothered him more. The fact that she never mentioned having a best friend that she was so friendly with or the fact that she wasn't like that with him.
