Chapter 12

When you woke up again you were confused. You remember a pro hero coming in after the initial shock of seeing Rei-San with you and going into a full-blown panic before fainting. Now, the first thing you realized was that you ached badly and the light above your bed was going to blind you if you didn't move your head. You managed to set yourself up in bed ignoring the wave of dizziness considering you were used to being dizzy and in pain. Once up you saw that you had bandages from your neck down to your stomach and some on your arms and legs. That was weird, you didn't remember them when you woke up the first time but maybe that was because you were trying to plaster yourself to the bed to create space between you and the obnoxious fire hero that Endeavor brought in. If you were being honest with yourself you couldn't remember anything that'll cause you to end up in the hospital. You glanced over to look at Rei-San praying that something would trigger your memory. Wait that's right, the doctor said you were in an accident where you saved her almost at the cost of your own life. Your quirk had gone into overdrive healing you but gave you temporary amnesia. It's a blessing that you will remember everything eventually but still, it's frustrating. You remember working with her husband Endeavor and son Dabi and once she met you she forced you to call her Rei. It was something weird considering the last time you connected with someone so easily was when you left your two best friends in Magnolia. "Rei-San?" She looked over at you and was shocked before it melted away to a warm smile.

"Y/N-chan. I'm so glad to see that you're awake. How do you feel?" That's a good question. How do you feel? You did a mental check-in of your body and were glad that the pain was tolerable but mentally? It was a puzzle that was missing pieces or more like you have the pieces but, they're scrambled and fuzzy so you don't know where they go.

"Physically I'll be fine, but mentally? I am not sure. I understand that I have amnesia and I'm not going to remember everyone but it's just frustrating knowing I'm hurting friends that I can't remember. That pro hero that came in earlier she's Burnin right?" Rei nodded her head "She scared me, but I feel like we are on good terms but I just can't remember." You squeezed the sheets between your fingers a nervous habit of yours.

"It's very frustrating. There are going to be so many people who know you. You have touched so many lives in your three years here." I almost gave myself whiplash looking at her. She said what now? "Yes. The doctors explained how you will only remember the first couple of months you moved here and nothing else. It will all make sense soon just don't overwhelm yourself." I sat staring at her in awe before nodding. To be fair, you shouldn't push yourself cause you can make yourself sick that way or something like that so you will take this weird-ish nightmare one day at a time. You heard a knock before you could respond and turned to Rei with a surprised look.

"Who do you think it is this time Rei-San?" You turned at the sound of the curtain moving and your jaw dropped your eyes matching dinner plates.

"P-PRO HERO H-HAWKS!" You were too shocked to notice his cringe or pay much mind to it. You needed to know why one of the top ten heroes was in your hospital room! You couldn't even say anything just stare in awe watching his feathers ruffle and move as he stepped from side to side.

"Hey, L/N-Chan." Your tail flickered upwards at the use of your name. He knew your name?? How did he know you?! What the hell happened in your time here?! Why can't you remember anything? "Hey, hey, hey it's okay, it's okay. Please don't freak out. I can leave if you want." You weren't aware that your heart monitor was sky-rocketing. You glanced at it and then back at the pro-hero who was making his way back out the door but you didn't want him to go! You were just surprised!

"Wait!" He froze halfway out of the room and he shed his feathers some more so the room doesn't seem so small which you were thankful for and impressed. You took a few calming breaths and heard a collective breath of relief as your heart rate went back to normal. "I'm sorry...I was just surprised you know my name, I'm just a regular civilian but, apparently, I must have gotten to know you and it's frustrating since I can't remember." You looked everywhere but at the pro. You still couldn't wrap your head around the fact that you got comfortable with other pros which makes sense if you think about it. You work for the number 2 hero and his wife who's number 3 sooo why wouldn't you be exposed to all the other pros?

"You seemed to have had a revelation. Good to know that you figured something out." You finally looked at him and were trying your best not to stare but you stared. If he was uncomfortable by your staring he didn't give a hint.

"I just figured that it'll make sense I'll know other pro heroes. I do work for the number 2 and 3 heroes. Hell If I Know All Might that'll be a shock." You forced a laugh while the other two shared a look that you caught "What was that look?" You squinted at Hawks who shifted his gaze to the ceiling whistling

"Yes, you do." You looked at Rei your heart rate sky-rocketing again

"I KNOW THE SYMBOL OF PEACE ALL MIGHT!!!" You welcomed the blackness with open arms needing time to cope. Unbeknownst to you, Rei and Hawks winced at each other before Hawks came out to the others who were all wincing and cringing as well.

"Just so you know I didn't say it, your wife did." He was not about to get his tail chewed on for something he didn't do. Thank God you weren't out long only a few minutes and was embarrassed to find out that you passed out again. Mirko decided to keep you from getting a real heart attack he would visit you tomorrow and left shortly. Hawks stayed around until the doctors gave the okay for your discharge and thank God Fuyumi had spare clothes for you. You got all your papers together and now you were in the hallway being wheeled with the Todoroki's and Hawks. Shoto wanted to sit in your lap and you allowed it. He was gripping you tight hurting your bruised back and ribs but thanks to your upbringing you were able to ignore the pain and keep your front up. Once outside you took a deep breath enjoying the fresh air and then looked down at a tap.

"I hope mama and daddy let you stay with us. We can watch you and keep you safe." Your heartstrings were being pulled and honestly, you didn't want to intrude on their-

"Of course, she's going to stay with us until she's better. It's smarter and better for her considering she can't remember much and the doctor said she will have episodes where she will remember and become immobile. She will be vulnerable and I rather she goes through that at our home than by herself." You blinked up at Endeavor shocked and when no one else was going to protest you decided to voice some concerns.

"What about clothes and-"

"You stayed with us for so long you left half your wardrobe in the guest bedroom along with toiletries. We got everything else for you so you're good on that as well." Your head swerved left to right to look between Endeavor and Rei and then at Dabi and Hawks who simply smiled at you. You then looked back at Shoto who had a shit-eating grin on his face

"I guess I'm staying." He squealed squeezing you and you swore a rib creaked but, he didn't need to know that.

"Don't crack another rib." Dabi was the voice of reason as he lightly hit Shoto on the head and all you could do was look up at the sky and wonder what kind of week you were going to have.
