Chapter 9

Whether it was the fact that Bakugou never showed up or his mum informed him that he'd run out of the house last night and hadn't returned, Kirishima was worried. Ms. Bakugou told him to head back home and rest up as Bakugou would probably be back at school by the following day.

He was hesitant but listened to the advice. He couldn't sleep at all. He was too worried.

The following day Kirishima hopes to have his concerns proven wrong, But when he enters the classroom only to see his best-friends seat empty, his heart skips a beat and panic arises. He slides into his chair, tapping Denki on the shoulder.

He turns around, smile bright and broad. "Have you heard anything from Bakugou?" he asks quietly.

"No. Why?"

Kirishima gulps down the lump in his throat. "To cut long story short, Bakugou stormed off on Saturday night and hasn't returned home since."

Mina had apparently been listening in on the conversation as she brings her head closer to the whispering trio. "Maybe he's just sick," she says.

Kirishima shakes his head. "School work means too much to him. He'd never miss a day and he hasn't since I met him."

Mina frowns. "Maybe you should tell Aizawa-sensei," Denki says.

He nods.

It's a cold day, fitting for the mood of the three friends. Aizawa-sensei was once again late for homeroom, immediately falling asleep on the floor.

Mina gives a comforting nod to Kirishima who stands up and begins walking over to his teacher. His heart beats rapidly in his chest. He doesn't want to be wrong and to find out Bakugou is completely fine.

"Aizawa-sensei," he begins carefully.

The groggy teacher opens one eye halfway. "What?" he says through gritted teeth. The lack of sleep intwined with his tone.

Don't back out. This is for Bakugou, not you.

"Do you know where Bakugou is?"

Aizawa opens both his eyes and looks at Bakugou's seat, surprised at not realising sooner that he's gone. "No."

"We were meant to hang out yesterday and he didn't show up. Do you think he..." his voice trails off. He really doesn't want to admit the possibility of the event.

Aizawa unzips his sleeping bag and crawls out. He puts a hand on Kirishima's shoulder. He squeezes it supportively. "I'll call Ms. Bakugou and update you after class."

Shouta leaves the classroom, pulling out his phone, He swipes to the phone app and searches through emergency contacts.

The things he does for these kids.

He finds Mitsuki Bakugou's contact and presses on it. After a few rings, she picks up.

"Hello?" she says.

"This is Shouta Aizawa, Bakugou's homeroom teacher," he informs calmly.

"Thank god. Is he in class?" she asks, worry laced through her voice.

"No, he isn't. When was the last time you heard from him?"

"He ran out after throwing a tantrum on Saturday night. We haven't seen him since."

Aizawa frowns. "I'll inform his teachers. You should file a missing persons report to the police. If he doesn't come back by this afternoon, we'll send out a search party."

"Do you think the villains got him again?" she asks carefully.

Shouta cringes at the thought. He hopes it's just a case of a little runaway that can be dealt with in a few hours, but he doesn't like to lie and therefore tells her what he's thinking. "Truthfully, I'm not sure. I hope they haven't but Bakugou is strong so whatever is holding him back from getting to school he'll sort out quickly."

"Please tell me everything you find on him," she urges.

Aizawa nods and hums into the phone. He hangs up and returns to class.

"Hello again, Katsuki Bakugou," were the words that greeted Bakugou when he wakes from his slumber. The air smells like old shoes and dust. Shigaraki stands in front of him, Toga and Dabi behind him.

Fuck.

The room has a few ceiling lights with cracks spreading out like paths of electricity. He's not tied to a chair like last time, but instead lying on damp, mossy stone with his hands l cuffed behind his back (the cuffs are anti-quirk) and ankles handcuffed together. Chains hang from the walls and bars around the small prison like window, no light seeping through. There's a bed like area (without the mattress) against one wall and a small metal toilet near a sink on the other.

"What the hell do you want?" he growls, voice rough.

"I want your blood!" Toga giggles before stopping when Shigaraki gives her an annoyed look.

"You're all assholes," Bakugou snaps.

"The more you try to fight, the worse you're going to make this for yourself," Shigaraki says. "We only want one thing from you, your cooperation as the U.A. traitor."

"No way."

"Until then, Toga will use your blood to pretend to be you. We have your school uniform and pass so it won't be too difficult."

Bakugou looks down, to see he's only in his boxers and his hoodie.

At least they have the audacity for that.

"I'm so excited to see Izuku and Ochako again!" Toga says happily.

"I'm never joining the League," he says assertively.

Never.

"If you don't agree to join in the next few days we'll have to result to harsh measures. Toga can't use her Quirk for very long periods of time for multiple days in a row."

Bakugou lets out a noise in disgust. After Shigaraki nods at Toga, she moves over to him with a happy smile and pulls out a large syringe. Bakugou snarls at her. "Don't you dare touch me."

As she leans closer and reaches out for his arm, he begins trying to move them before she can grab them. With help from Dabi, they secure Bakugou down, Toga drawing lots of blood. She grabs three syringes full and Bakugou begins to feel light-headed and dizzy.

"You're going to be late," Dabi informs.

"Right!" Toga says and skips away.

Shigaraki follows Toga out of the room, leaving Dabi and Bakugou the only ones there. The door is open and more light comes in. Bakugou assumes he's in an abandoned prison of some sorts. Dabi gives him a cold, unflinching gaze, one that looks quite familiar to Bakugou. "Don't hurt him," was all Dabi said before walking out and slamming the metal door shut behind him.

The sound of three locks closing and then quiet. Bakugou falls under the sleeping spell to the questions of Dabi's words.

Todoroki is surprised when by the time the bell rings, Bakugou still isn't in class. He notices Kirishima talking to Aizawa-sensei and sitting back down with concern.

Todoroki is about to ask Kirishima where Bakugou is, when the door swings open. In walks the ash-blonde with his... tie on?

That mixed with his tardiness made the entire class concerned. Aizawa sighs and gives him a light scolding before returning outside, probably to call someone.

Bakugou walks to his seat and rests his legs up on the desk while the rest of the class is doing work.

"Thank god you're here, Bakugou," Kirishima says, still worried at his appearance.

"Don't talk to me!" He shouts back. Everyone in the class look at him.

Yaoyorozu leans over to Shouto. "Don't you think Bakugou is acting a bit strange?" she asks.

He nods, shaking the idea of Toga out of his brain.

Kirishima shrinks back in his seat, obviously shaken and confused by the outburst.

When Aizawa returns to the classroom, he looks at Bakugou for a little too long as he snaps, "Whatcha looking at?"

Aizawa rubs his temples, obviously not wanting to be here.

"Must be sick," Todoroki says, mainly to Yaoyorozu.

"It's a weird illness. I'll look it up after class."

The rest of the day, Bakugou was acting weird. Maybe it was Todoroki's headache and lack of sleep but he swears he saw Bakugou hesitating before going into the males bathroom. It was like he was about to enter the girls.

Toga.

No. Impossible. Bakugou would never let her get him.

------

It has been two days since Bakugou's been stuck with the LOV. He's been stuck in the cell limited food or water. He has to hobble over to the toilet to relieve himself. He just wants to go home, honestly.

The door swings open and Dabi walks in, closing the door. He walks over to Bakugou who spits on him when in close proximity. "What the fuck do you want?" He grumbles.

Dabi squats in front of him. "I know you hate him, Bakugou, but he's more fragile than you think. Don't hurt him or I'll hurt you."

"Huh? Who?"

Dabi doesn't answer, instead resorting to standing back up and leaving the room, plunging Bakugou back into darkness.

He clicks his tongue.

Who the hell is he talking about?
