Chapter 4

"Those are all stupid, but I don't care. I'm going to train."

"Bakugou, no."

"You can't tell me what to do," Bakugou snaps at him. Todoroki never seems to know when to shut up.

"Are you tired, Bakugou?"

"Huh?" He's taken back.

I'm that easy to read?

"I assume you must be tired because if Aizawa-sensei allowed you the day off school, something bad must have happened. Also you have bad eyebags."

"I'm going to my room," Bakugou grumbles and leaves Todoroki behind, thankfully.

It's weird that the dorms are so empty. Usually, it's buzzing with noise but with it only being morning break, it's so quiet you'd be able to hear a pin drop. Todoroki is right, though. Bakugou feels exhausted. He'll just sleep. He kicks his shoes off at the front of the room before falling onto his bed. He closes his eyes, sleep ruling superior, thinking about how he hadn't gotten into a fight with Todoroki yet.

To say Kirishima is concerned is an understatement. Bakugou and Todoroki aren't exactly a good pairing and especially after that morning, putting them together is a dangerous blend. When he went to get Todoroki, everyone looked at him like Aizawa must be losing his mind and trying to explain the situation to his friends was... weird.

He's confused about Bakugou's words from earlier, 'put the pieces together'. But what pieces? He has to figure out what triggered him but how would he know? When he entered the classroom, all he saw was bakugou being restrained.

Wait... The Sports Festival... he was also restrained there, and that sludge villain a while back, even the kidnapping. So Aizawa-sensei triggered him?

Kirishima scowls.

"You're looking feral, Kiri," Mina points out.

He jumps and changes his expression. "Just thinking about something. I'm going to go talk to Aizawa-sensei about my assignment. I need to ask if there's a particular scenario I need to be in."

"Okay, see you in class," she says.

He slides out of the seat, turning away from his group, his smile drops and his scowl returns. He speeds to the classroom, throwing the door open almost harsher than Bakugou.

Aizawa-sensei flinches and turns around, ready to fight, but at the sight of Kirishima, he calms.

"How could you!" Kirishima shouts, throwing his arms out.

Aizawa sighs. "Calm down, Kirishima."

"It was your fault that Bakugou acted like that. You restrained him just like at the Sports Festival!"

His eyes widen.

"And the sludge villain when he was in middle school. You should now this! You're a teacher, aren't you? You should know anything that could trigger your students. if I hadn't had come in and helped, Bakugou may have really injured himself!"

"Kirishima, calm down."

"No, I won't calm down! When will you realise your mistakes? Restraining Bakugou at the Sports Festival is bad enough. Did you read all those articles about that? Everyone called him a monster. You could've stopped it, but you didn't."

"I understand you're upset, but-"

"He lashes out today and then you decide the best thing to do is to get his rival to watch over him? because it would be beneficial for their training? He's sensitive right now. I should be the one with him. He trusts me more than anyone else in this class!"

Kirishima's face is red, his hands clenched by his sides and catching his breath from his intense screaming.

"Kirishima, I am fully aware of all this. I was going to get you to watch over Bakugou but decided it would be more beneficial for training. He's not going to be in class for the rest of the day and he's missing training. At least he'll know that by interacting with Todoroki, he's improving his social abilities."

Kirishima sits on the thought.

"I still don't think it was the best decision."

"Kirishima, please leave the teachers to do their jobs."

Just then, the bell rang and Kirishima gives him a final sinister look and sits down at his desk.

After Todoroki was left alone, he went to his own dorm after making a pot of tea. He was going to use this time to catch up on any work he had yet to complete even though his stomach aches. He's surprised at how well it was going. Bakugou hasn't started a fight with him yet or gotten overly emotional. It must be because of fatigue, or something of the sorts.

After changing into more comfortable clothes, Shoto sits at his desk and pulls out math work, one of his top subjects. He speeds through the work, noting to ask Ectoplasm for harder content.

English definitely isn't his strong suite but Todoroki knows it's Bakugou's. Deciding if good grades is worth annoying the tired teen, he vouches for google translate and dictionaries.

Working through the questions, he suddenly remembers that Bakugou still has his jumper. Making it a definite that he'll get it back after finishing his homework, he hurries it up.

An hour later and he's finished the mound of homework. He stretches and begins walking to Bakugou's dorm. As he climbs the last step to Bakugou's floor, he hears a series of crashes. Todoroki rushes to his room.

Before knocking, he makes a plan to not tell Bakugou he heard anything.

He knocks.

"What do you want?" Bakugou asks aggressively, the door only opened enough to see his face.

"I want my jumper back," he says stoically.

Not long after, the door opens and Bakugou quickly hands the jumper back to the rightful owner. The messy look of Bakugou forces Shoto to subconsciously make an effort. He grabs the door.

"I'm tired," Bakugou says.

"Do you want some tea?" Todoroki ignores the earlier statement.

After a minute, the door opens further and Bakugou walks out with black tracksuit pants and his famous skull shirt.

They head down to the kitchen, Todoroki deducing he'd feel more comfortable there than in his room.

Bakugou sits at the bar stool as Todoroki brews his concoction of lavender tea. He hands a cup to the other and moves to sit near Bakugou with a chair between them.

"What tea is this?" Bakugou asks gruffly.

"Lavender tea."

Todoroki takes a sip of the piping hot drink. It hits his empty stomach satisfyingly.

"I heard a crash come from your room. Are you okay?" Todoroki asks.

Bakugou slams the cup on the table. Todoroki flinches.

"Shoto!"

"Don't think you are entitled to getting all up in my business, got that?" Bakugou scornfully says.

"Get up, Shoto."

"Yeah."

Bakugou chugs the rest of the tea and then flops down on the couch. "Movie?" he asks.

"I don't mind."

Todoroki hasn't watched many movies. Before the television was banned and his mum taken to a hospital, he mainly watched All Might videos, and the class has only begun to introduce movies and tv shows to him.

"We're watching the Matrix," Bakugou decides.

"What's the Matrix?" he asks cautiously, hoping not to sound stupid.

"You haven't watched the Matrix?"

"No."

"Have you been living under a rock?"

"If you mean living with my father, then yes."

Bakugou laughs. "Didn't know you could be so savage."

Todoroki gives a small smile before finishing his tea and sitting beside Bakugou on the couch. He grabs a nearby blanket, probably Mina's because it's pink. He wraps it around himself, snuggling up to its warmth.

Bakugou turns on the movie and they watch in silence. He must be exhausted because Bakugou's out like a light barely thirty minutes into the movie.

Todoroki looks at the peaceful face, he almost thought it was cute. He removes the blanket from around his shoulders and drapes it over Bakugou. He continues watching the movie, but without sound and subtitles on. All in all, he thought the movie was good but the lack of sound really effected the experience. He didn't want to disturb Bakugou's sleep.

"Bakugou, the movie's over," he says. It's better if Bakugou sleeps in his own bed than on the sofa, it could hurt his back.

Bakugou doesn't respond.

"Bakugou, wake up." Todoroki shakes his shoulder.

Bakugou scuttles further into the couch, eyes wide and afraid.

An all too familiar expression.

"Don't touch me!" Bakugou shouts. After observing his surroundings, he seems to calm down.

Does Bakugou get hit? Why did he react like that? Is his mum-

Todoroki pushes his intrusive questions aside. "I thought it would be better for you to sleep in your own bed and you weren't waking up to my calls."

"If you have a question, just say it dipshit."

Todoroki doesn't know how to word his question, deciding to approach it with a half Iida view seeing as he always knows what to do. "When I touched you, you looked as if you expected me to hit you-"

"Keep those questions to yourself," Bakugou interrupts and throws the blanket off him. He shoves his hands in his pockets and begins walking back to his dorm.

"You asked me tell you."

"Eat shit and die." The door to the common room swings closed.

Todoroki falls against the couch, deep in thought about Bakugou.

Lmao sorry if this is shit. I've got the next few chapters written out but they need A LOT of  editing.
