A/n: they and he are used interchangeably, more them but he is sprinkled in a bit. Since Adri isn't completely against other pronouns just prefers they the most.

"What the fuck am I looking at?"

Ladybug shrugged, standing next to her cat partner atop a building looking down at the streets. It was clear there'd been some kind of freaky event, but the culprit was nowhere to be found and those who were nearby seemed just as confused.

Having followed the trail of scorch marks on the road, the hero's ended up in the centre of the town where a much bigger one was covering the pavement. Rubble from a billboard having been destroyed lying about. Luckily no one was hurt, but clearly someone had a vendetta against that billboard.

"Do you see anyone suspicious?" Cat asked.

"No... looks like this was done remotely, maybe someone planted explosives?" Ladybug replied.

"But... why?"

"I have no idea..."

Hearing their names being called upon, they jumped down from their spot on the rooftop, landing before one of the police officers on patrol who'd also just witnessed this event.

"Did you two see any suspicious persons?" He asked.

"No, it looks like it was done remotely" Ladybug replied.

"No one's hurt?"

"Not that we can see"

So both the heroes and the police were stumped, having no idea what the hell just happened. It was so fast, loud and over in moments.

"There were several other billboards across the city destroyed as well apparently, I can't think of a reason someone would blow them up. Or how they'd even manage to get explosives and then set them all off at the same time" the officer said.

"Maybe someone has a grudge against the company advertising on the billboards? Like a disgruntled employee. Do you know what was on them all?" Cat Noir suggested.

They looked over at the rubble, hesitant to approach it in case there was still active explosives in the area.

"Hm... you might be onto something. Once the bomb squad clears things I'll check that" the officer said.

Over his shoulder behind him, Cat Noir could see past the officer the pile of rubble. Most if it was dust and shards, but a few larger chunks could be made out. A picture he recognised well.

Even though after Gabriel's arrest all advertisements related to the company were pulled down, Adrien still had some old pictures of him licensed by other companies in collaborations out there. This billboard in particular was an older one that hadn't been swapped yet, and part of an advertisement containing the model in question could be seen.

Maybe it was just a coincidence that Adrien was on that billboard, but it was a bit alarming to have your face blown up publicly.

"I suppose if there's no dangerous people around you two can get back to your lives. But stay alert, and please do come back if things heat up again" the officer shrugged.

"We'll keep an eye out, if something happens we'll jump in to help" Ladybug assured.

"Oh, and nice hair by the way Cat Noir. My daughter's been wanting streaks like that"

Adrien smiled, first time out in public with the new cat noir look and they were already getting compliments on it.

"Oh thanks! I think the green is a purr-fect look for me" they replied.

Ladybug rolled her eyes at the pun, as per usual.

"Come on kitty, we have things to do. We'll keep an eye out" Ladybug said.

Heading back onto the rooftops, they decided to do a quick look around the city before heading back to school just before lunch ended. Just in case something else was going on. They saw several other billboards shattered on the ground, the police all over the streets and some damage to nearby buildings. But absolutely no sign of a culprit. It was odd, nothing like they'd dealt with before.

They landed atop the same building they met up at, and unexpectedly as soon as Adrien's feet hit the ground he felt a sharp pain shook up their legs. They seethed, stumbling a bit at the pain. Damnit, those same stings he got as a kid were back. Nathalie was right to get a doctors opinion.

"You ok?" Ladybug asked.

"Yeah... just landed funny" Cat replied, brushing it off.

"This is such a weird situation, kind of alarming someone has explosives out there... but the don't seem to want to harm any civilians"

"I'm just as confused as you are bugaboo. I suppose we should just keep a look out for suspicious people, and maybe patrol a little more"

"Agreed. I have a class to get to, let's meet up and talk more tonight?" Ladybug suggested.

"Sounds good" Cat agreed.

They waved each other off, heading in opposite directions. Actually they were both heading back to the same school, but they didn't know that. They got back just as the bell went, and Adrien went to rush to class to make it on time. But they had to stop running when that stinging pain kept coming back each time he out pressure on his legs.

"Shit- why is it flaring up all of a sudden?" They seethed, lifting the ends of the dress to take a look at his legs.

"There you are dude, you ok?" Nino's voice called out.

He walked over, noticing Adrien seemingly in pain leaning on the staircase.

"Yeah, sore legs that's all..." Adrien replied.

"The same pain from phys ed the other day?" He asked.

"Yep, no idea what it is still. Although I did get a blood test done to see if it's clotting or something so we'll see"

"At least your mums actually give a shit about this. Here, lean on me"

Today had been a strange day that's for sure. It started nice with the friend group supporting Adrien coming out and wearing a dress, then it took a turn with the strange billboard thing. And out of nowhere the pains flare up? What was in the air today to make it take that turn?

The rest of class was boring, and everyone was mainly focused on if they'd allowed to walk home or take the bus as usual with whatever was happening in the streets. But by the end of the day things were cleared as safe and as soon as the bell went the kids were out the door and off home as usual.

"Dude you ok? Maybe you should call your mums to pick you up?" Nino said, noticing Adrien's limp as they headed out the front doors.

"I might, be safe walking home ok? See you tomorrow" Adrien replied.

"Be careful bro, see you tomorrow"

They waved each other off, and as soon as Adrien turned to head in his direction he was met with Luka rushing up on his bike.

"SUNSHINE!" He smiled.

"BABYBLUE!" Adrien smiled back.

He skidded do a stop and kicked down the bike stand, jumping off and picking Adrien up in a tight hug.

"You look so pretty! I've been waiting all day to see you" Luka laughed in joy.

"Like my dress?" Adrien replied.

"I fucking love your dress, let me see a spin"

Gladly, Adrien spun around and the skirt flared out all flowy.

"Oh my god you're going to kill me, you're literally so cute. You ok though? You're limping" Luka said.

Wow nothing got past him huh?

"Flare up, no idea why" Adrien replied.

"Jump on then, I'll ride you home. Juels is going to Rose's anyway" Luka said.

Grabbing the extra helmet and jumping onto the back of Lukas bike, Adrien kept a grip around him to stay steady and not fall off as they turned the corner and headed for home.

"By the way, I finally figured myself out" Adrien said.

"You have? That's great hun, I'm proud of you" Luka replied.

"I'm not exactly a girl or a boy, more like both at the same time. Non binary, in a mixed kind of way rather than a lacking way"

It didn't matter to Luka what Adrien was, he loved the blonde decorated in cherries all the same. Plus, he was bi. It literally didn't matter at all what gender his partners were.

"That's a vibe honestly. It fits you well" Luka replied.

"Mums know, the rest of the group knows. I'd have told you earlier but I was running late this morning. I've landed on they/he, it feels right" Adrien explained.

"I will immediately reprogram my brain, got it"

They reached Adrien's place, and before heading their separate ways for the day, they sat on the front steps to talk a little more. Mainly Luka telling Adrien over and over how much he loved them and how proud he was. And Adrien blushing at every compliment. And finally the topic of the mysterious billboards came up.

"Oh yeah, I took a look as Cat Noir at lunch. Couldn't see anyone suspicious at all, LB and I think it was done remotely" Adrien explained.

"That's so weird, there was an explosion near my school too. That billboard with one of your advertisements on it, you know the sport company you collaborated with?" Luka said.

"Hang on... the billboard by my school had that same advertisement on it"

Either it was a very strange coincidence... or it was advertisements with Adrien on them being targeted. Immediately the two felt a little uneasy, the uneasy feeling instantly reminded Luka of the messages from the other day and he quickly grabbed his phone.

"Oh my god that reminds me- I didn't tell you the other day because I didn't want to interrupt the photo shoot but..." Luka said, handing his phone to Adrien to read the messages.

Immediately Adrien's anxiety spiked seeing an unknown number and Lila's name on the screen to gather. How did she get Lukas number and what was she harassing him for?

"There's... no way Lila could have done the explosives right?" Adrien pondered.

"I don't know... I mean she's only our age. How would she even get her hands on that stuff?" Luka replied.

It made them uneasy, but both of them could see things lining up a little too well... they took each others hands anxiously and gave each other a knowing look.

"Maybe we should keep a closer eye on her from now on..." Luka suggested.

"Yeah... we probably should"
