Im not leaving you hanging dw

A sense of calm washed over her as the pressure changed. She let out a soft sigh and fell towards the waiting ocean.

-------------

When she opened her eyes she was surprised to feel that she was very much alive. How could she tell? She could feel the soft sheets on her skin and could most certainly see the bright lights, but not 'the gate' light.

She pushed herself out of bed but as she stood her vision turned black and spotty. She shakily sat back down until it faded away. When it cleared, she saw a natural, simple-looking interior of a house with large spaces for windows. Where was she?

When Piper gained enough strength, she stood up again. For some reason she was wearing a long, simple blush rose toga that she had never seen before.

She looked outside and saw a beautiful scenery with lush trees and flowers. Dam, maybe falling from the sky had benefits. She leaned on the sill and subconsciously braided and unbraided a section of her hair. She listened to the birds and the hum of the wind. She had almost forgotten what true quiet sounded like without chaos somewhere.

Piper stayed there for who knows how long just enjoying the moment. Places like this existed.... They existed. Places where quiet was quiet, and peace was peace.

Some butterflies went past her and light danced across her hand. She smelled the scene of all the flowers in the breeze, bringing a sense of comfort and reassurance.

Her peace was interrupted by the door opening and a girl stepping in. Her long caramel hair was loosely tied back and set carried a tea set made of stone and wood. Piper faintly smelled fruit.

Normally, Piper would've jumped into a fighting position. But, it wasn't necessary, was it? She had been so at peace ever since she got to speak words with her true voice that fighting felt pointless. She could fight of she wanted to, but the calm that had been set over needed to be used for every second it had.

It took a second and then she recognized the girl. Calypso. Leo's ex-girlfriend. What was she doing here, in fact, where were they?

"Oh, you're finally awake," Calypso said. "Would you like some tea?"

Piper turned to her, eyeing the tea she had with her. "Sure, thanks."

Calypso gave a smile then prepped another cup.

Piper could ask her questions later, for now, just relax. She was too far from the others because of having no clue where this was, and it wasn't her problem until she was back.

----------

"So, what washed you here?" Calypso asked a few hours later while they sat on the beach.

"A storm spirit attacked me while on a quest," Piper replied casually. Calypso nodded in understanding.

They sat with their drinks for a few more minutes.

"May I ask something?" Piper asked. Calypso looked over her shoulder then nodded.

"What is this place?" Piper asked. She breathed in the fresh air, relaxing in this area.

"Ogygia," Calypso said. Piper raised an eyebrow curiously.

"You fell out of the sky into here. Yes, Leo had gotten me off. But the gods decided they didn't trust me so, here I am again. Nice to have company."

Piper tilted her head. A mix of emotions swirled in her. Curiousity, little bit of insatity maybe, calm, and anger. Pure hot anger at the gods that could light a forestfire from the burning.

"They what-?"

"That's the way they are," Calypso said. "They'll be ok and give you a chance. But they also have trash memory so they just send you back to square one. No matter how much you try to prove yourself, they won't notice for long."

Piper thought her words over a sense of understanding filling her. When had the gods remembered how well their child did after a few years? Did they ever keep their promises and love? Yes, there was one in 100 that did, but what about the 99% huh? Was she just going to keep brushing over how terrible they were and their unreasonable expectations?

"You're right," she said quietly. "They don't remember and we get the sharp end of the sword. Every bad thing that happens for us is just a bump from the end of the sword while we're being imapled. And then they go complain about the bruise they got."

Calypso smiled. "Guess so. And it's not going to change, is it?"

Piper shook her head.

They sat together for a few minutes longer, watching the tides come in and out.

Calypso spoke up. "Say, what about all the others who did wrong and got away with it while the innocent get punished for beliefs? The gods don't care. Whatever's bad in their eyes is bad."

Piper nodded. "You make a slip up, you're in the wrong here. If you get too strong, they shut you down."

Calypso stayed quiet for a few seconds. "... I wish there wasn't so much injustice and random fighting where people get in the crossfire."

She was right. Piper had seen it many times. The wrong people were punished while the nasty ones slipped away. Some of the bad gods enforced their worshippers to the wrong and get away with it because they're right just because they have power. Zethes had threated to do several things to her with disgusting intentions and he was fine because he was a child of a nice and big god. But the misunderstood were pinned as evil instead. Then, innocent got in the crossfire.

Time couldn't keep going like this. It could not.

"I'm sick of it," Piper admitted to mostly herself. "I am so tired of this going on."
