Chapter 44
"That's it," Bea announced, forcefully pushing herself off of a half-asleep Remus beside her, the blanket that covered them both tumbling to the ground whilst Remus lifted himself up, entirely confused about what was happening around him. he had missed the ending of their last film because of his state, asleep and dreaming about Sirius, though he wouldn't tell Bea next to him or she wouldn't hesitate to kill him instantly, "I'm off to bed, I'm far too tired."
She couldn't deny that she was slightly scared from the horror film that had played since they had run out of Disney films they wished to watch. It was about a boy haunted by his dead girlfriend, it was entirely odd and very scary, to say the least, especially her death scene, it sent chills up the fifteen-year-old girl's back.
"Oh no," Remus whined, throwing his arm around her so that she couldn't move, "come on, one more film!"
"Remus, you fell asleep!" she exclaimed, a laugh tumbling from her lips, it was nearing midnight but the time wasn't an issue to the Lupin family, especially during summer. Bea's parents were out in the garden, soaking up the breeze of the night whilst considering heading to bed when Hope couldn't help but yawn for the fifth time.
"I'm fine, Bea," he laughed, waving her off and soon grumbling in protest when she pushed herself up, "I don't want to go to bed, Bea, it's not even late!"
"It's almost midnight," she chuckled, "if you go to sleep it's one day closer to Sirius coming!"
"Is that a pun?" he asked, his eyebrow raised and a wide smirk decorated his lips as he watched her process his words. Her head tilted ever so slightly in her tired state, wondering how the words could possibly be a pun before-
"Remus John Lupin, you are vile!" she screeched, clasping her hands over her ears, furiously shaking her head whilst Remus doubled over with laughter. Her eyes narrowed to slits at the boy on the couch, waiting for him to sober up before she spoke, "I just can't wait for James to get here."
"Phoebe Lupin you get back here right now!" Remus screeched whilst her laugh filled the hallway, "Phoe-"
"Goodnight Remus!" she called, "love you!"
"Love you, Bea, see you tomorrow- oh wait!" he called, pushing himself up quickly and rushing after her, "I was thinking we could go into town tomorrow, maybe make up a picnic to take with us, we barely go into town!"
"Yes!" Bea nodded excitedly, clapping her hands together whilst Remus grinned widely, "bonding time with my favourite brother-"
"I'm your only brother," he scoffed, shaking his head before following her up to the landing of the second floor, "y'know we could take some parchment with us and you can finally start that letter to James."
"I just don't know what to say, how do you even write 'I miss you more than I've ever missed anything in my entire life and I'm so in love-"
"You're in love with him?" asked Remus, catching her off guard. She lifted her head to stare at his shocked face, Remus knew that Bea and James very much loved each other but he didn't even think of the possibility that she was truly in love with him.
"Well yeah," she whispered, her cheeks tinged red, "I mean- I've never felt like this before, I've fancied people and I've kissed other people but it's so different, I mean - it's James! I barely talked to him at all before this year, course the whole Bumble thing annoyed me before but now I can't help but love it.
And I love him a whole lot, I mean I couldn't picture myself with anyone else, and the rare moment that I do think of the future and of my life, he's in it. he always will be. I know I'm fifteen and all and it's sudden and it seems like a silly teenage crush but I just doesn't feel like that, I feel odd when he's not here and I just want him all the time," she sighed, her head falling onto his chest, "remind me to thank professor sprout when we go back."
He couldn't help but laugh, wrapping his arms tightly around his sister, "y'know I know I've told you this but I really am proud of you, for everything...for this year. You finally stuck up to dad, and you're so much more you now, more confident, more everything, I'm so proud as your brother and as your best friend, I couldn't be happier with who you turned out to be."
"Merlin, I love you so much Remus," she chuckled, hugging him tightly, "I'll see you in the morning, alright?"
"Alright, goodnight Bea," he patted her head, heading in the direction of his bedroom whilst she went off to her own. She was already in her pyjamas, so with a thankful sigh, she quickly closed the door behind her, pulling back the covers of her bed to climb into.
The summer for her so far was going well, she missed herbology and learning about the plants she needed to, but her time with Remus was well spent. Although their friends had merged into the same group, and she couldn't deny that she felt as close to his friends as he did, she was glad that she had the summer to spend more time with him.
And with Sirius and James coming soon, she was ecstatic, she made a mental note to send a letter to Peter, Bertie and Lily to make sure they knew they were invited to, and she longed to send one to Violet, to tell her that no matter the silence she was giving Bea, she would always be invited.
Her mind was going into overdrive as she thought of the letters she had to send that during her thoughts she had managed to drift off to sleep, the covers pulled tightly over her and her breathing content as she entered her dream, one of her and Remus and all of their amazing friends and although Violet was always in her mind, her dreams were happy in that moment.
She was unaware of her surroundings, her lips parted as she slept, her soft breaths floating around the room, reaching every corner and creak that her room offered, floating through the air.
Reaching the man under her bed.
The man who had been there eleven years ago, waiting just like he was now for the right time to pounce, that time had come. he creeped out slowly, his long nails tapping on the wooden flooring of the room he hadn't seen in so long.
He was back, not for the brother, but for her.
He was back to finish what he had started all those years ago.
He climbed onto the bed with her, making no noise, he was like a ghost, a demon, haunting her thoughts, seeping through her dreams some nights, but tonight he was a vision, a monster.
He was the monster that Remus believed himself to be.
She was much older than what he remembered the young girl that she had replaced, her face more defined, a beauty to the vile man over her, tracing his long claw over her cheek, she was too far into her sleep to feel it.
He leaned down, his urges taking over him as his lips found her body, roughly pulling back the covers that covered her body, ripping her clothes, his clawed hands gripping her body close to him.
She was awake.
She struggled against him, gasping in horror at the feeling of his lips, open-mouthed kisses serving her skin disgust. She screamed in fear, wriggling under him as his claws dug into her skin, one hand slapping over her mouth as the tears rolled down from her eyes, fresh hot tears stinging her cheeks.
Engulfing her body was the weight of him, the pain he made her feel, the memories from years ago creeping through every space of her mind, she was screaming under the pain of his hand keeping her in, keeping her silent, "no, no, no, please no!" but he didn't listen, he just pressed his hand harder against her mouth whilst her hands gripped his.
She was naked, bare under him, but so was he, and he was doing to her what he wanted to when she was so much younger. She was shaking her head, feeling the pain as he moved above her, ignoring her pleas to stop.
His nails created wounds in her body to stop her from moving, but she just wouldn't stop, she continued to move, to scream under his hand, to beg for someone to hear, to beg for anyone to hear her pain.
He was a horror to witness, his eyes dead with vile, evil, monstrous acts, with every thrust he made, the harder it was for Bea to continue, but she wouldn't stop. She couldn't stop. She was fighting with every inch of her body, every move she could muster, she needed him off of her but he was just too strong.
He was barely human, craving human touch.
She felt violated, disgusting, she wished for him to stop, but his mouth attached to her neck, kissing down her skin, kissing all over her body whilst she begged for him to stop.
She bit his hand, her teeth clawing into his skin, feeling the salty taste fill her mouth, and in his shock, did he pull away, "someone help me!" she screamed so loudly her throat dried up, coughing away the pain that formed, more began to seep through her cheek when he forcefully slapped her.
He grabbed her face, his eyes glaring down at her, and through gritted teeth, he whispered, "shut up...if you know what's good for you." And soon was his mouth pressed against hers, smashed against hers, pressing her further into the bed whilst he allowed himself to feel the pleasure he wanted.
She was shaking her head, sobbing, crying onto his skin whilst he pulled her, moved her, grabbed her, she was trying, she really was.
He was so strong, she wasn't weak, she just couldn't handle it.
Her body was becoming weaker from the loss of blood from the wounds, she was physically weak but that would never stop her from giving up. She couldn't forget the pain she was in but she was trying her hardest to fill her mind with the people she loved whilst she tried to get him off of her.
She forcefully pushed his mouth off of hers, another loud scream erupting from her lips. it was as though her room was trapped, she was trapped under him and her voice couldn't be heard, that her calls for help were helpless.
But they weren't helpless, because not a minute later did her room door burst open, and standing there was Lyall Lupin, his wand out and his eyes wide. Hers closed as spell after spell lighted the room, and Fenrir was fully off of her, but that didn't stop the pain or the deep wounds that clawed her stomach.
She tried to speak but blood poured out of her mouth, Fenrir had climbed out of the window, she was crying.
"No, no, no!" she sobbed, shaking her head furiously, grabbing the blanket and pulling it over herself. She was screaming, terrified, her eyes wide, her tears wetting her pillow.
Lyall pushed himself closer to her, holding his daughter close to him, cradling her whilst her screams and sobs filled her room, banging harshly off of the walls and creeping through his ears in pain.
"I'm sorry, Bea, I'm so, I'm so sorry," he choked out, rocking her, trying his best to cover the wounds but the blood kept appearing, he didn't know what to do, his wand had fallen from his hand, he wasn't thinking clearly, he needed to keep her safe.
No spell could've helped her.
She had lost too much blood.
She knew she was going to die, she knew she was dying.
She didn't want to, she didn't want to die.
She wanted to go on a picnic with Remus and write to James and count down the days until his arrival. She wanted to go back to Hogwarts next year and find out more plants, and help Professor Sprout and maybe learn more about potions.
She wanted to create that study group with James to help kids at Hogwarts and water plants and laugh as they tutored kids.
She wanted to spend more time with Sirius, to help him get out of his home, and laugh with Lily Evans and Peter.
She wanted to gush about Killian with Bertie and make sure Violet knew she loved her.
She wanted to live.
But at fifteen, she wasn't getting that option.
"I'm s-so so sorry for everything Bea," her father sobbed, holding her closer.
And even in her pain, in her terror, in her state, the dazed painful state she was in as the unimagined pain clouded her, she forced a smile.
"It's okay dad," she choked out, coughing on the blood in her throat, "I forgive you."
