❁Chapter 41❁

Chapter 41

The train ride to king's cross station was rather amusing for Bea, she stayed with the boys for most of the trip but for just ten minutes she navigated her way through the train in order to find Bertie who was in a compartment with Lily and Vi. Bea was more than glad that Vi wasn't completely isolated and was thankful that Bertie and Lily weren't going to shut her out just because of how she felt about the Hufflepuff, she would much rather they ignore her than Vi, but they wouldn't do either.

She left when it became awkward and promised to see them on the train station and when she got back to the compartment, she was rather surprised to hear the loud, "finally!" erupt from Peter's lips.

"I didn't know it was possible for a boy to sulk so much in the space of ten minutes," Peter glared at James who merely glared back, but Bea found it rather adorable.

She was trying her best to find Bertie now that they were off the train and in the station but James was making that rather hard when he failed to let go of her, his arms wrapped around her tightly from behind and his lips pressing kisses to her neck whilst she laughed at him.

She hated the thought of saying goodbye to him, and although they had been together all day, exchanging kisses and enjoying each other's company, she wondered if that would just make it that little bit harder to let him go.

"James, I will come and find you in five minutes," she laughed softly, turning herself around in his arms, "we can have a proper goodbye but remember I'm going to see you soon anyway."

He leaned down to kiss her nose, a small smile tugging at his lips whilst she cupped his cheek, bringing him down for one last kiss, "I think we have well topped the record for how much I can kiss you in a day, and whilst it's not over yet we just have to put it on pose for ten minutes."

"Five minutes?"

"James!" she laughed, kissing his cheek quickly and turning away from him to push herself into the crowd of people around the platform.

It was always packed during their time back in London in order to get everyone home, and whilst she was very small, she still felt very clustered and packed in tightly as she squeaked out multiple 'excuse me!' and 'oh, sorry!' in passing multiple people trying to find Bertie.

She saw him saying goodbye to Violet not far away and stopped in her tracks just to watch. She didn't want to overstep or make Violet feel more uncomfortable and whilst she was more than upset that the girl hadn't even considered saying just goodbye, she still loved her more than life, and as much as she wanted to run over and hug her tightly, she stopped herself.

Her lips parted and her eyes held hurt when Violet lifted her eyes, connecting with Bea's for a moment that felt longer than it was, and although she wasn't ready to face the girl she was in love with, she forced a smile.

And it was enough.

Bertie turned when Violet's attention was from him, and managed to draw Bea's attention to him when he strolled over to her, a wide smile on his lips and soon was his arm slung around her shoulder, "oh Bea, you have no idea how much I'm going to miss you."

"I have a pretty good idea, Bert, you better visit me during summer or I'm going to be seriously offended!" she warned, wagging her finger in his face whilst he let out a loud laugh.

"Of course, I will, I don't think I could go a month without seeing my favourite girl," Bertie smirked, pulling her closer to him whilst she let out a laugh, wrapping her arms around him tightly.

"You are the biggest flirt, Bertie," she chuckled, "but I'm off limits...sorry about it."

"It's alright Bea, as much as you are incredibly beautiful and have a dazzling personality, I just don't swing that way," he tutted, seeing the amused smile on her lips.

"Bertie we're playing an entirely different game!" she exclaimed, "oh Merlin you better write."

"You better too, I don't want to have to wait more than one day for a reply from you!" he huffed, remembering the one time she was late to reply.

"Excuse me, Bertie, but the owls do have traffic!" she tightened her grip on the boy whilst he leaned his head on her own, "I love you, Bertie."

"I love you too, Bea," he mumbled, hugging her just as tightly as she was hugging him, "summer is always great and all but the thought of not seeing you every day is really killing my vibe."

"It'll be really weird," she sighed, "but we can visit each other as much as we can, do we really live that far from each other?"

"Well...a little far," he sighed, "but we'll figure something out. Drop me a letter every day."

"Drop you a letter?" she giggled, shaking her head at the sentences he came up with, "bloody hell we're acting like it's the end of the world!"

"It is! I won't see you for like a month!" he huffed, "I'm going to let you go now because I can see James staring me down from the other side of the platform."

She tried to turn to see him but she was much too small to see over the people in her way, she frowned, though her squeal caused some attention when Bertie grabbed hold of her and lifted her off of the ground, "Bertie!"

"What?! Now you can see your boyfriend!"

"Put me down!" she laughed, shaking her head and pulling him in for one last hug that was able to stop his breathing, "love you, Bertie, eat some beans for me, will you?"

"Oh, piss off, honeybee," he smirked at the nickname whilst she grinned, "love you long time."

"Love you long time!" she grinned, blowing him a kiss which he pretended to catch.

She pushed herself back into the crowd of people, heading for the boys but also keeping a look out for Lily who she was surprisingly able to find when the familiar sight of red hair swept past her and she was just lucky that when she reached out to stop them, it was, in fact, Lily.

"Bea!" she exclaimed, throwing her arms around her in the tightest hug, "I wish we had more time on the train...actually I wish we had more time to spend together this full year, the last few months without Severus and with you and Bertie...and Vi have been the best ever I just wish we had more time!"

"Oh, I know!" Bea nodded in enthusiastic agreement, "I'm thinking about inviting everyone to come and you're always welcome Lily, it gives us more time! And also, we have all of next year too, it's just going to be weird not having everyone during the holidays."

"Exactly!" Lily exclaimed, "please write, I need all the happiness I can get from my sister."

"Oh yes, Petunia," Bea scowled, knowing her sister wasn't the best to her made her relate to Lily in a lot more ways than she once thought. She pulled the girl into another tight hug, promising to write and exchanging amused 'love you's' with each other whilst waving goodbye and diving back into the crowd.

She made sure to keep an eye out for any of the boys, looking forward to seeing them all together until they had to leave in two weeks, she hated the thought even though she had finally come to accept it. She made a note to warn Sirius and Peter to write everyday like James and Bertie and Lily would be doing.

"My boys!" she exclaimed when she finally stumbled out of the crowd, almost falling flat on her face if it wasn't for Remus who grabbed her suddenly and pulled her into him in order to stop her.

"What would I do without you?" she teased, earning a scoff and a laugh from him.

"My girlfriend!" Sirius exclaimed over dramatically, throwing himself at her whilst she grinned, "you know I do this to make Remus jealous. He kisses extremely well and I need some of that always."

"You know, as much as I love you, Sirius, I never need to hear that my brother is a good kisser," she shivered, shaking the thought from her mind whilst Sirius snorted and Remus facepalmed.

"Well, it seems as though both Lupins are great with their mouths," Sirius teased, earning a whack from her and a glare as she pushed him away.

"You are horrible," Peter shook his head, pulling on Bea's hand and throwing his arms around her tightly, "gonna miss you, Bea, you're my best friend and better than these three twats."

"I'm going to miss you most of all, Pete," she smirked, turning to wink at James who shook his head with a small laugh. It was very evident to Bea that he was trying to hide his emotions, because, well, she was doing the exact same thing.

"I'm going to miss your inspiring words over summer, Bea," he laughed softly. It really did pain Bea that Peter was terribly insecure about himself, he followed behind the boys in some instances and she hated that, he was so lovely and he was as bright as the sun and he deserved the world and yet he didn't see it himself.

"Please promise me to just have some confidence in yourself, even try and get a summer fling?" she winked, pressing a sloppy kiss to his cheek whilst his face scrunched up as he laughed.

"Love you, Bea," he nodded, patting her head whilst she grinned wider.

"I love you, too, Pete."

"Look I know I'm being an arse and all," Sirius sighed, throwing his arm around her shoulder, "but it really is going to be bloody hard without seeing your pretty little face every day. It's so weird to think that you hated me at the start of this year and now you're my best friend and future sister in law and I love you more than life itself, Bea, and I can't bloody wait until after summer so I can see you and your fine ass brother every day again."

She laughed softly, throwing her arms tightly around the boy who was trying not to let it show that he was really going to miss the Lupin siblings, "I love you so much, Sirius."

She took a deep breath, pressing her lips to his cheek before turning to James who was standing with his head bowed and both his hands on his waist. She walked over to him, seeing that his eyes had lined with tears and she knew she was the same, her eyes were glassy and both of them knew they were being terribly dramatic, it wouldn't be long until they saw each other again.

But then what would happen?

They had the full summer left and nothing planned, and they knew that if they could be together for the full of it they would be but Bea wasn't ready to just leave Remus all alone for the entire summer, she couldn't do that to him.

"I think I was ready to scream," James laughed softly, "seeing you kiss those to and wondering how long it would be until it was my turn."

"It's always your turn," she mumbled, she lifted up his glasses, softly swiping her thumbs over his eyes to wipe his tears and allowing the glasses to fall back into place, "I know it seems like it'll be so long until we see each other, and merlin we are the most dramatic people aside from drama queen black over there, but just think of all the things we have gone through and remember how completely and totally in love with you I am."

He smiled, "we've been together all day and we've shared so many good-bye kisses, but all I'm looking forward to now is the hello kiss in a few weeks."

"Well I can always give you a sneak preview," she bit her lip, pulling on the front of his shirt and connecting their lips. His arms wrapped around her tightly, not quite ready to let go of her, and just holding her as their lips moved together and they left the station behind them, wrapped up in their own world of pleasure until they would see each other again.

"I love you, baby," he whispered into her ear, "I'm so in love with you and I can't wait to see you soon."

"I'm already counting down the days," she smiled, kissing his lips for just a split second and reluctantly - very reluctantly - pulling herself away.

She pulled on Remus' arm when he finally stepped away from kissing Sirius, linking them together and with a heavy sigh, she spoke, "bye my wonderful boys, I'll see you very soon!" and with one last goodbye from the Lupin siblings, they made their way through the crowd of people to their parents waiting for them near the stone wall.
