❁Chapter 20❁

Chapter 20

"I need to find Bertie," Bea spoke, standing close to James as they exited onto the busy platform. She was leaning into him so that she wouldn't lose him and the anger that Remus felt about them was clear from her mind, she couldn't care less really what he thought. As much as she loved her brother so very much it felt as though he had no regards to her happiness and she had finally accepted it no matter how sad it made her feel. She hoped that one day he'd finally realise that she had grown up and wasn't the child who needed him anymore.

"I need to find the boys anyway, they've broke away," James chuckled, patting Remus behind him who he hadn't lost but still he kept an eye out for Peter and Sirius, not exactly sure where the two had left to.

"Right. Well, I'm going to find him but I'll meet you in five minutes!" she grinned, patting his shoulder and pushing herself into the crowd of people. It seemed that even though she was terribly small that the crowd was getting rowdier, families meeting and friends bidding each other goodbyes whilst Bea tried her best to get through and also navigate Bertie at the same time.

"Bea!" her head lifted at the sound of Bertie's familiar voice, her smile widening and finally did she stumble out of the crowd and to him, throwing her arms around him tightly whilst he merely laughed at her, "so James then?!"

"Bertie can I ask what that look is for?" she asked, her eyes narrowed to slits though the smile was still wide on her face whilst he merely shrugged, nudging her slightly.

"You know exactly what this look is for, Phoebe Lupin." He patted her head, whilst she tried her best to push him away, "so I except my invitation to come soon but I know the mail can sometimes mix up letters so don't worry if you want to give me it in person, I completely und-"

"Invitation?" she cut him off, her eyebrow raised and her hands resting on her waist. She was trying her best not to get trampled from excited first years seeing their families again, or friends who were crying around her trying to keep their emotions at bay, knowing that they'd see their friends soon but sobbing regardless of it.

"For your wedding, bloody hell Bea keep up, will you?!" Bertie smirked, earning a loud groan from Bea who merely pushed his arm, knowing that part of her and James keeping quiet about their relationship was because of the endless teasing. She knew she'd tell Bertie at some point, seeing as she had told Sirius

"I'm going to kill you one of these days, Bertie, I swear," she grumbled, her head falling onto his chest whilst his laughter rang through the station, "if I were ever to marry James then you would obviously be a bridesmaid. Vi of course would be my maid of ho-"

She cut herself off, her eyebrows knitted together and her face falling at the words she didn't realise had left her lips until it was too late, because by the looks of how their relationship was, her and Violet wouldn't be friends at all. She hoped it was all just teenage drama and as much as she hated the fact that Violet and Remus where being entirely hypocritical, she just wanted her best friend and her brother back as quickly as possible, though she didn't know when that would be.

She just hoped that it would be soon.

"Bea, you and Violet are best friends and if you were ever to marry James in your life then I'm positive that she would be there and that she would be your maid of honour and I'd be your dashing bridesmaid and everything would be great for your special day." Her eyes lifted to see the amused smile on Bertie's face and realised how stupid it sounded to be getting sad over a non-existent wedding between her and her secret boyfriend that wouldn't ever happen unless they were much older.

"Oh merlin," she whispered, "I can't believe how dramatic I'm being!"

"You're just going through something bad, Bea. You can't help what Violet and Remus think but you can try and sort it, or you can wait for them to try but bloody hell Remus is your brother. He's going to realise that you're growing up and he's going to beg for your forgiveness!" Bertie grinned, patting her head whilst she merely laughed. She wrapped her arms around him once more tightly, whilst he did the same.

"It'll be weird not seeing you every day for two weeks, Bert," she tutted, tightening her grip on him, "you better write and if you don't I'll march myself over to your house and force you too!"

"Then what's the point of writing if I'll see you?" he asked, watching her head tilt.

"Good Point. Alright, I'll see you later!" she grinned, waving as she pushed herself back into the crowd of people that surrounded the platform.

She was rather thankful that James had found Sirius and Peter arrived and quickly grabbed hold of the boy when she was almost trampled once more by people around her. She grinned up at her boyfriend, panting for a breath whilst the group of her friends couldn't help but laugh at her.

Remus' head leaned on Violet's and as much as it greatly annoyed Bea that she had to put up with them when she wasn't talking to them, she felt terribly sad though that they weren't on good terms but that wasn't going to stop her from teasing Remus as much as she could. Seeing him getting angry was rather hilarious, and knowing that he was over reacting was all part of what made it so funny.

"So, I just got us a bridesmaid," Bea spoke, nudging James beside her whose eyebrow raised as he turned to her.

"Oh yeah?" he asked, "who's that then?"

"Bertie!" she beamed, "maid of honour is obviously reserved for my bestest friend but I haven't got one of them right now."

"Excuse me!" Sirius exclaimed, his arms flailing around as he looked at Bea, "what?!"

"I thought you'd want to be James' best man!" she huffed, glaring at the sheepish look that erupted on his lips.

"Suppose that'll do."

"Pete, you can be the ring bearer," Bea giggled, throwing her arm around the boy who merely scoffed, but nodded his head anyway.

"Suppose that'll do. I'm just glad I have a role," he grinned.

"Of course, you do!" Bea exclaimed. "best friends and family invited. Course a proposal needs to happen first."

At Bea's words James moved Sirius out of the way, kneeling down in front of a loudly laughing Bea as the boy attracted a few stares from around them, "I don't have a ring-"

"I have a chocolate frog!" Peter piped in, shoving his hand into his pocket and handing the chocolate frog to James.

"I have a chocolate frog, and I have my whole fifteen years of living behind me. Phoebe Lupin, will you make me the happiest boy alive and become my chocolate frog wife?" James asked dramatically, going as far as to take her hand in his whilst she stood there dying with laughter.

And as dramatically as him, she clutched her hand over her heart and took the chocolate frog from his hand, furiously nodding her head, "I would love to be your chocolate frog wife, James!"

"I have never met two people as weird as you two," Sirius scoffed, rolling his eyes whilst Bea pushed his arm.

"Maybe buy a mirror then, the reflection is pretty weird," she teased, leaning her arm on his shoulder whilst he glared.

"I don't want to leave you guys," Peter frowned, running a hand through his hair whilst Bea nodded in agreement, soon pulling on the boy's arm so that she could hug him tightly.

"I'm gonna miss you the most Pete," Bea sighed, "you have food always and you're very huggable."

"Well you're going to see James and Sirius the full two weeks and you don't even like those two so of course you're going to miss me the most!" Peter exclaimed, earning a scoff from Sirius who tried his best to keep in his amusement.

Remus and Violet bid the group a goodbye when Bea didn't even try to deny Peter's claims of her not liking them, because in the moment, she didn't. She loved them both dearly but her feelings for the two of them had fallen under liking.

"That was terribly awkward," Sirius mumbled, earning a nod from Bea whose head fell onto James' chest, "I just want Remus to come to his senses. I know that he's just trying to protect you, Bea but I feel like he's changing a bit with Violet."

"As if he isn't the Remus we know," James frowned, agreeing with Sirius.

"Maybe so," Bea sighed, "but Violet has liked him for so long and she'd be heartbroken if they weren't right for each other."

"Well I suppose we'll have to wait until Christmas is over to see what'll happen," Peter shrugged, "you all better write, I'll see you after!"

"Bye Pete!" Bea grinned, waving after him whilst Sirius pushed himself over to the other side of her.

"Ready to meet your in laws?" asked Sirius, earning a laugh from Bea as she allowed James to guide her in the direction of his parents.

"James!" the boy let go of Bea once he saw his parents, quickly moving to hug his mother who quickly had a tight grip on the boy whilst his dad patted his head with a wide grin on his lips, "oh merlin have you grown? I swear you've grown taller? And your hair! Has it grown longer? Oh, look at you, James!"

"Mum, please!" James laughed, moving from her as she tried to fix the shirt he wore and somehow style the locks of black hair that fell over his head.

"Sirius!" she exclaimed, pulling him into her embrace when she spotted him, "my boys! I swear you grow a foot taller every time we see you I- and you must be Bea," her kind eyes where shining with delight, her smile wide on her lips when she spotted her trailing behind the two boys.

"Oh merlin, we have heard so much about you - haven't we Fleamont?! So much wonderful things it's so lovely to finally meet you!" she exclaimed, scrambling to pull her into a tight hug whilst James and Sirius watched in amusement when Bea slowly wrapped her arms around the woman.

"Mum bloody hell don't scare her!" James groaned, sharing a look with Sirius who was silently dying. The two had been pulled into a hug by James' father who was laughing at his wife's excitement of meeting the poor girl.

"James was so right!" Euphemia exclaimed, patting Bea's cheek, "you are gorgeous! Oh, he never shut up about you, every letter he sent me, he would always find a way to change the topic to you!"

"Mum please," James groaned once more, pulling Bea away from her and instead resting his head on the girl's head whilst she laughed loudly, holding onto his hand that was wrapped around her stomach.

"Oh, I'm just telling the truth!" she waved off her son, "right, trunks! Everything! Let's get out of here it's so terribly busy!"

Bea watched with a laugh as James' mother, who was called Euphemia pulled on her husband's arm whilst the three teenagers trailed behind them, their trunks already on a cart that his parents had got and their excitement still buzzing around them.

"Your parents are amazing," Bea giggled, her arm around James' waist whose arm fell over her shoulder, "but now I'm just curious about those letters."

James groaned, his head falling onto hers and hiding his face in her hair, "those letters will never see the light of day again, I won't allow it."

"You won't even show your girlfriend - and! Your chocolate frog wife those letters that you wrote, about her?!" asked Bea, her eyes wide and a pout on her lips. He looked around the platform they were still on, not able to see Remus anywhere, and soon did he lean down and press his lips to hers softly and quickly.

"Nope," he shook his head, watching her eyes flutter open and her grip on him tighten, "never!"
