" Are you nervous? " Ms.choi asked her as she was sitting on the bed just before she has to go to the operation room.

" I'm not nervous- I'm scared. I don't know why? There's a weird feeling in my heart that doesn't want me to be at ease. " She said looking down at her lap, fiddling with her fingers.

" Don't worry, my child. Just try to stay calm okay? It's important for you to be calm for the surgery. " Ms.choi said caressing her hair trying to soothe her, and that worked.

" I'm trying. " She said in a small voice, looking up into Ms.choi's eyes.

Ms.choi gave her a motherly smile and patted her back before exiting the room.

Several hours passed by. It was about time, she is supposed to wake up from the unconsciousness anytime now.

It was 5 in the evening, her operation was successful and according to the doctors, she can even go home in few weeks, if nothing goes wrong.

Her eyes slowly fluttered open. Her breath was slow and steady. Ms.choi was just beside her bed and she saw her coming to consciousness as she rushed towards her. Y/N was not just some random patient to her, she was just like her own daughter because of all the years she has taken care of Y/N.

" Y/N !! You're finally up! Are you feeling okay? " Ms.choi asked her just as she opened her eyes.

Y/N just blinked her eyes slowly before mumbling a small yes.

" Just rest for some more time, don't speak much okay? I'll go bring the doctor. " Ms.choi said with a smile on her face as she went outside the room.

The flowers were glowing with the natural glow of nature, just like always.

The sun shone in the bright sky making the atmosphere warm and cozy, just like always.

The wind flows without any boundaries making the leaves of trees flutter, just like always.

Everything is normal, just like always.

No. Not everything.

She hasn't smiled since the surgery.

Since the last time she saw him.

" Ms.choi, did someone come when I was sleeping? " She asked as she was looking outside of her window.

" um- I don't think so! Were you expecting someone? " Ms.choi said looking confused.

" uh no. I was just wondering. " Y/N sighed knowing he hasn't come.

The last time when they met was the time he gave her the purple stone.

Where is he ? He promised that he'll wait for her.

She was waiting for him in hopes that he would soon come to her with his adorable eye smile like always and ask her if she is okay or not. Tell her how he missed her or how his day went. He would comfort her in a way no one can. His smile was enough to make her forget all her pain and suffering.

It was after a week of her surgery. She was almost fully healed. But heart was still throbbing with an uneasy feeling.

She thought he might be busy, but then they don't have anything much to do in the hospital, so that can't be the reason.

She thought he might have fallen ill or something, that's why he can't come and see her. That thought made her worried for him but she couldn't go to his room because it was prohibited for her to stand up let alone walk for some days.

She went to his room after some days when she was okay enough to walk but she found no one.

From that day her mind had believed that he might have went to his home for some days due to some emergency.

But her heart. It knows better.

Today was the day she is going to get discharged from the hospital. Most of the patients are waiting for this day to come and normally they would be so happy to go home.

But in her case, she feels a weird emptiness in her heart as she leaves her room. Ms.choi hugged her and patted her head with love, even shed a couple of tears. But she was happy that Y/N can finally go from the hospital being healthy.

Y/N didn't actually have anywhere to go but the NGO had done the preparations for her new apartment some days ago. She was thankful. So thankful to them that they helped her through out all these years.

Everything is changing for better. Just one thing stings in her heart. His absence.

She decided to go to her new house first and then come to hospital again to ask about jimin.

Just like that she bid her good byes to the hospital. Finally starting a new life.

She still couldn't believe it. Some months ago she was just waiting for her death and now she is all healthy and a new life awaits for her. But the cause of this new life isn't with her.

He said he will wait for her, didn't he?

He said he will always be by her side, didn't he?

But being by someone's side isn't defined by physical presence only.
