Welcome to our shiny new club book on this the day of our fourth anniversary!
Thank you all for being a part of our community!

We haven't made it four years without some bumps in the road. We've had lots of highs and our fair share of lows. Right now, we are in another low period. You may have seen our announcement where we've dropped all of our other endeavors with the exception of the book club. This was a tough decision caused by a lot of chatter about PIP on Reddit. Since the Punk Rock Awards, we've been called gross, corrupt, and nepotistic, and this isn't the first or even the second time this has happened. We've been told to ignore it, don't give into the trolls, and keep on doing what we've been doing. We tried that and now we're tired of it. We're tired of having everything good we try to do crapped on.

The final straw was when Donna's book was removed from the platform by someone claiming to have had to read it for book club. Whether or not this person is telling the truth and is or was actually in PIP or they're just jumping on the hate train with a lie, we've had enough. If you're unhappy about how we run things or if you have an issue with one of your teammate's books, come to one of us to help rectify the situation instead of griping behind a fake name and reporting a book out of spite.

Due to this incident, it will take some time for our trust to be restored. For the same reason we don't give out strikes publicly, we are also no longer giving 🤘for good, excellent, or superior feedback. It can be seen as public humiliation by those that don't receive them, and public humiliation is against Wattpad guidelines. We will still be monitoring your feedback, and your team leads will still be able to nominate members for rockstar status.

In lighter news, we are considering bringing back Punk Points™️, but with some restrictions. Punk Points™️, for those unfamiliar, were given to members for finishing assignments early, giving excellent feedback, or other ways we came up with to earn them. Members could exchange their points for things like new book covers, a review, etc. If anyone would like to donate a service for Punk Point Rewards, please let us know.

SamiCoops has had to step away from PIP for the time being... but it's for a good reason! She's incubating another new punkster!! veelozada will be stepping back into a team lead role and taking over Sami's teams.

Vee, a diehard Black Veil Brides fan, has requested to have her old team name back, and seeing how she is the original founder of PIP, we couldn't deny her request. So, those who were on the Sinners team, it will now be Fallen Angels. The Believers will continue to run under the same name.

If you don't want to tempt fate and would like to be out of the running for the Story Spotlight, please let your team lead or a club manager know. If you're new to PIP, your book will automatically be added to the wheel after three months of membership unless you tell us otherwise.

Just a refresher on our comment guidelines (PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW THEM!):

💀Read 3 chapters of your partner's book. Prologues under 1K words or a 5-minute reading time (per Wattpad) do not count as a chapter. This is only for prologues. If something is clearly marked as a chapter and is under 1K or less than Wattpad's designated reading time of 5 minutes, then you still read the one chapter. If this is unclear, please ask the club or one of the management team for clarification.

💀Comment at least 2 in-line comments per chapter.

💀Start every single comment with #PIPBK.

💀For end of chapter comments - on each chapter you read - (also known as final review) please don't be generic. Give constructive feedback of at least 5 lines. This does not count as an inline comment. Please mark your end of chapter comments with "Chapter Review" or "Final Review" or any wording to make it stand out from your inline comments. We also have an outline for Final Reviews in the "How the Club Works" section.

💀Make sure to include what you like about the chapter and why -and- what you feel could be improved in your end of chapter review. This will help you achieve Rockstar status!

Story Spotlight comment guidelines:

💀Read 1 chapter of the Spotlight Story. Prologues under 1K words or under 5 minutes reading time (per Wattpad) do not count as a chapter. You can skip the prologue and just read the first chapter if you prefer, despite the reading time/word count. If you've previously been paired with the Story Spotlight, please read the next chapter from where you left off. If you've completed the Spotlight book, please tell your team lead in your 'done' comment. If any of this is unclear, please ask the club or one of the managers for clarification.

💀Leave at least 1 inline comment.

💀 Also leave 1 comment at the end of the chapter, no less than 3 sentences. Just like with your partner's book, this comment needs to be marked as a Chapter Review or Final Review, or any other wording to differentiate from the inline comments.

💀Start every single comment with #PIPBK.

💀 If you are partnered with the Story Spotlight and it's the same book as their assignment book, you are required to read four chapters instead of the usual three.

💀For end of chapter comments, please don't be generic. Give constructive feedback. Make sure to include what you like about the chapter and why -and- what you feel could be improved. Including the 'whys' will help you achieve Rockstar status!

When your assignment is completed, please comment 'Done' next to your name on the team chapter and state which chapters you have read. Remember to tag your team lead! Do NOT tag your team lead in your partner's book. Tag them in the team chapter next to your name. Failure to tag and give the chapter numbers read will result in a strike.

We will mark your name with a ✔ when your comments have been checked. It is your responsibility to see if your name has been marked as completed. If you don't see a check next to your name within 48 hours after you have finished your assignment, check with your team lead.
