CHAPTER ONE: pilot

CASTIEL MICHAEL ALVES HAD ONE FRIEND; MATEO HERNANDEZ.  Although, Mateo did have a few other friends, they don't seem to like Castiel. So, Mateo stopped inviting them to hang out when he was going to be spending time with Castiel.

"Hurrican Agatha continues its steady march toward Kildare Island on the outer banks of North Carolina," the news reporter, one the tv's voice rang through the place.

"Hey, you want to spend the night at my house? My fathers won't mind," Castiel asks Mateo.

Mateo shrugged. "Sure. Let me ask my parents first."
╰☆☆ ᚹᏒᛊᛠᛠᚴ Ƃᛜᚴ ☆☆╮

While the hurricane went on, the Alves family and Mateo had placed some card and board games, and they had been unable to set the backup generator while the hurricane went on.
╰☆☆ ᚹᏒᛊᛠᛠᚴ Ƃᛜᚴ ☆☆╮

The two guys had decided to go out fishing. Or, well, Mateo dragged Castiel to go fishing.

"I can't! I'm allergic to fish!" Castiel argued.

"We aren't eating it while there. We need to cook it," Mateo says, as he pushed Castile into the boat. "Plus, I know you are not. You're allergic to peanuts, which is your only food allergy , medical; amoxicillian. Oh, and fun."

"And you're allergic to shutting the fuck up," Castiel crossed his arms.
╰☆☆ ᚹᏒᛊᛠᛠᚴ Ƃᛜᚴ ☆☆╮

"Oh, hey, there's another boat, let's go say hi," Mateo grinned as he turned.

"You know, you would be like, a serial killer's dream victim," Castilel casually spoke.

"Why because unlike you I'm nice and social?"

When heading towards the other boat, to see that a tall, blond-haired boy was standing at the front, holding a beer bottle above his head.

"Oh shit!" Mateo turned, realizing his boat was much to close to to the other's. And the other boat immediately stopped. Which has caused for the boy to fly off the boat.

"Holy shit!" Castiel rushed forward, as has everyone else.  "JJ?" he questioned when seisnh the other.

"I think my heels touched the back of my head," JJ lets out, floating in the water.

Mateo directed the boat, to the right of JJ. Castiel reached over the side of the boat.  "Hey, JJ," he barely reached the other's hand.

"Are you guys okay?" Mateo asked the group.

Castiel pulled JJ, who grabbed onto the edge of the boat, and pulled himself up.

"Careful," Pope calls out to Mateo.

Mateo carefully directed the boat, as JJ, once close enough to his friend's boat, hoped across.

"Guys...i think there's a boat down there," Pope speaks.

"Shut up. What?" John B asked.
"No way." Kie says.

Both Castiel and Mateo moved to see the spot that Pope was staring out.

"No, no, guys. I'm serious. There's a boat down there," Pope rushed to explain. "For real."

"Guys..is this.." John B starts.

"How the fuck was that never noticed?" Mateo asked.

"Holy shit, he's right. Let's go," Kie says.

John B removed his shirt, before he and JJ dived in.

"You think there's a dead body down there?" Pope inquired of.

"I don't like how casually you said that," Mateo speaks up.

"Guys, wait up!" Kie called before jumping in.

Pope had began to remove his clothing to jump in. Before he joined his friends into the water, a handful of seconds went by.

"So, I don't want to drive away with them underwater, we just wait for them to come up?" Mateo questioned.

"Yeah, probably.  I brought my cards-"

Water splashed on them, JJ having came up from the water and flicked it at them. He placed his hands into the edge of the boat, a grin on his lips.  "You've got to see this. Come on! Hurry up before I pull you down, pretty boy." JJ smiled when seeing the way Castiel's face turned red.  And then went back underwater.

"Pretty boy?" Mateo asked in a mocking tone, a sarcastic smile on his lips.

"Shut up," Castiel removed his jacket, and the shirt.

"It fits you."

Mateo had removed his jacket some time ago. Castiel glanced at the jacket, seeing that his phone was in the jacket pocket. And then moved forward, wrapping him in a hug, arms pinned before diving forward.

Mateo immediately went back up for air, as he hadn't expected for Castiel to pull him into the water. Castiel had stayed below the water, staring at the sunken boat in shock. Before he too swam towards it.

He wasn't sure why he was doing this. Why he wanted to follow the four down.  Maybe he did need new friends, in the terms to actually have more than one.  Because, apparently all it took was one conversation with JJ Maybank, and he was following the other into a lake.

They swam  to the bottom, indeed finding a ship.  It once conforming that it was a boat, as they believed, they quickly swam to the top.

"You guys saw that, right?" JJ asked, laughing.

"Yeah, I did."
"Yeah."

"That's a Grady white. A new one of those is like five hundred g's, easy," JJ says, as they all swim back to the boat, he momentarily turns, watching as Castiel grils onto the edge of his boat, and pulls himself up.

Kierra has to flick the back of his her to get his attention off of Castiel. For someone who wants to hide his crush on the other boy, he really sucks at it.

"That's a primo rig," JJ says.

"Yeah. That's the boat I saw when I surfed the surge," John B spoke.

"Maybe it hit the jetty or something."

"You surfed the surge?" Kei asked John B.

"That's by boy. Pogue style," JJ high fives him. Then turned to see that Castiel was drying himself off, with a towel that Mateo had handed him.  "Cas!" JJ calls out.

The brunette-haired boy's head snapped up in the direction of the blond-hair's voice. He raised an eyebrow, confusion portraying his features, and when he speaks. "Yeah?"

"Do we know whose boat that is?" Pope questioned.

"No, but we're about to find out," John B answered.

"You want help us find out whose boat this used to be? Or is?" JJ asked with smile.

Kiara gave JJ a look, as if she knew something about him that no one else did.   Everyone turned to JJ when he said that, before Castiel looked to Mateo, and then the group.

Mateo crossed his arms. "The both of us, or just Castiel?" He asked with a knowing voice.

JJ glanced at his friends, who were already diving back into the water. "Both of you. If you want, Mateo." He says it as if it wasn't an actual invitation. As if Mateo was an afterthought.

"No, I think I'll stay here, dry. Or well, partly dry," Mateo glared at Castiel, who put in an innocent act of not noticing, and removing the wet towel from his shoulders.

"I got spare clothing," Castiel says. "Don't be a bitch and dump them into the water."

"I wouldn't do that. On purpose, at least."  Mateo smiled.

Castiel only noticed that John B grabbed an anchor, and stood on the edge of the boat, when he turned his back to the other two; Mateo and Castiel, and faced his friends. He gave a mocking salute.  JJ pushed John B into the water.

Immediately, JJ turned back to Castiel. "So, Castiel-"

"Are you kidding me?" Mateo asked Castiel, disbelief. He spoke in a low tone. "I know you don't have many friends-"

"What does that have to do with anything?" Castiel asked.

"Buy hanging out with JJ Maybank?" He asked, time judgmental. "He has server anger issues. He's basically an undiagnosed IED. He's always getting into fights, mind you, he tried to fight me once. And-"

"And he can hear you," JJ interrupted.

They all turned to watch, swing if John B would come up out of the water. Castiel looked back over to JJ.

"Should we go get him?" Pope questioned.

But, at that moment, John B come up out of the water.

"Oh, my god. That took forever!" Kie says.

"You good?"  Mateo asked.
"Any dead bodies?" Pope asked.

"You know, I feel like you're too excited and hopeful to find a dead body," Castiel tells Pope.

"Looking potential?" JJ asked.

John B shakes his head. "No. No. I found this motel key," he holds up the chain.

"A key," Pope repeats.

"Yes, a key, Pope," JJ repeats, confirming. "Great! We salvaged a motel key."

"Guys, we should report the wreck to the coast guard," Kie speaks up.

"Castiel! Cas," JJ called, trying to sound over the two boats. "Pretty boy!"

"Yeah?" Castiel asked, trying to focus on steering the boat. He hadn't really even got to drive the boat.

"JJ, do not-" Kie begins.

"You want to come with us?"
╰☆☆ ᚹᏒᛊᛠᛠᚴ Ƃᛜᚴ ☆☆╮

To say that Castiel was surprised and unsure of what was happening. Would be an understatement.  Although, JJ seemed like the only one who actually wanted him there, Kiara kept giving both Castiel and Mateo side-glances. John B seemed to be ignoring the two, and Pope didn't really give a reaction of either kind.

So, Castiel and Mateo followed the other four off of the boat. And to the U.S, Coast Guard, which had bene filled with a lot of people, there was barely enough room to walk in the space.

"He's a-he's a diabetic!" A woman yelled.
"A dog-" a man says.
"Excuse me!"

"No, I understand that." The one at the desk argued.

"Hey, man, we-we found a boat," JJ speaks.
"You're gonna wanna hear this," John B tells him.

"Hey! Calm down!" The man demands of John B.

"Oh, my gosh. Diabetes' for a dog?" The man questioned.

"It is so true!" The woman yelled back.

"Hey," Castiel tried to get the attention of the man behind the desk.  "Hey, we think there's a dead body in the lake." He says, just to see if that would get a reaction. It hadn't.

"Let's go," John B speaks, gesturing for him and JJ to leave. JJ shoots Castiel a look, gesturing for him to follow.

So, both Castiel and Mateo follows them outside, to the door.

"Well, that went well," Pope sarcastically speaks.

"So, what's the plan?" JJ questioned.

"I think I know how we're gonna find the guy who owns that boat," John B says, holding up the keys.

"No, no. We don't know whose room that is. It could evening to anyone." Pope denied.

"You guys are aware, yay you're in the presence of a cop's son, correct?" Mateo asked, as he gestured to Castiel.

It made the other four pause. Then Pope began to quickly deny that he was going to ever be part of the plan.

Castiel shrugged. "Dad said not to be friends with murders, rapists, or  kidnappers, he said nothing about Tresspassing and breaking in-and entering."

"Yes! Cas, you're awesome," JJ wrapped an arm around his shoulders.

Kie threw her arms into the air, an annoyed huff leaving her lips.

"But, if you do get caught, I'll call my dad to be your lawyer." Castiel says.

"Who says we are going to get caught?" JJ grinned.

Mateo glanced back and forth at the two.

"Come on, I'll be the lookout," Kie tells Pope.

"Finder's fee. Just sayin'," John B tells him, as the walked past Pope.  "And, hey, at least you'll only be an accomplice. Plus, Castiel already said he'd call his dad if we did need a lawyer."

"Are we actually doing this?" Mateo asked Castiel.

Castiel frowned. "You don't have to."

"No. No-" Mateo begins.

"Hey, Cas," hands place on his shoulders, pulling him a step back. "You coming?"

"Yeah. We're coming," Mateo replied before Castiel could.
╰☆☆ ᚹᏒᛊᛠᛠᚴ Ƃᛜᚴ ☆☆╮

JJ whistled upon seeing the building. "I thought the Chateau looked bad."

"This place is a shit show," John B spoke.

"Motel or meth lab?" Kie inquired off.

"You be the judge," Pipe speaks.
"Could be both." Castiel says.

"Don't look like the type of place somebody with Grady-White stays,"  John B stays.

"No. Looks like a place someone with
a Grady-White would get killed,"  Pope spoke.

"All right, here we go. This is your captain speaking. HMS Pogue coming in for landing," JJ speaks as if he's speaking into a radio

"Not really the HMS Pogue, anymore," Kie mutters.

JJ jumped out of the boat, immediately moving to tie it down.

"We good?" John B asked.

"Yeah, we good," JJ informed.

"All right, here goes nothing," John B muttered, as he began to exit the boat.

"Hey," Pope called out, stoping the other.

"Yeah?" John b turned back.

"Don't let him do anything stupid," Pope pointed to JJ.

"Oh, we will," JJ immediately says.
"I'm not making promises," John B quickly replied.

"Yeah, I know," Pope sighed.

"Be careful," Kie handed the keys to John B. "I mean it."

"Yeah," John b chuckled. "Let's go." He tapped JJ's shoulder, as they began to a walk way.

Kiera stepped back, only then seeming to recall that Castiel and Mateo were in the boat, she turned in her spot, so she didn't see the two.
╰☆☆ ᚹᏒᛊᛠᛠᚴ Ƃᛜᚴ ☆☆╮

"Biggest pet peeve?" Kei asked again.

"Yeah." Pope confirmed.

"Easy. Giving one percent to the environment."

"What's wrong with that?" Pope questioned.

"We only have one Earth, Pope. We should be giving it a hundred percent, bare minimum."

"Right." Pope says awkwardly, agreeing just to please the girl. "That's not fiscally sound."

"Neither is destroying the planet we have to live on."

"Hey, hey, cops," Pope announced.

"Shit."

"Call them."  Pope says.

"I can't. Towers are down."

"If I lose my merit scholarship, I'm gonna kill someone," Pope spoke.

"Look, Cas and I will distract them." Mateo says.

"Oh, yeah, and we're to trust you won't tell them?" Kie asked.

Mateo looked at her in confusion. Before he and Castiel headed toward the fence.

"Hey, for the last fucking time!" Castiel yelled, fighting to keep the grin off his face. No matter how many times he and Mateo did this, pretended to be in an argument around cops, it never stopped the two from laughing ain't it weeks later.

"Oh, can you shut up for once?" Mateo snapped.

The cops looked in their direction, noticing who it was.  They didn't see Kie and Pope hiding behind the knocked down sign.

"What the hell are those two going?" Kie asked annoyance lacing her voice.

"I don't know," Pope sounded worried.

"It's your fault! Why can you never listen?" Castiel walks quicker, trying to keep up with Mateo. "Stop running!"

"I'm walking! You're just short!"

"Okay, first, you are only an inch taller than me. Second, why must you be so childish?"

"Hey, hey," the female cop speaks up.

"Better watch what you say! Because if I'm a child-"

Don't fucking say it. Castiel thought, knowing what Mateo would say. And he wasn't sure if he would be able to hold it together if he said it.

"That make you a pe-"

"Hey!" The cops stoped by their sides, reaching a hand out to separate the two.   "What the hell is going on?"

Castiel meets Mateo's eyes for a brief second. "That bitch is a fucking cheater!"

Momentarily caught off guard, Mateo falters. And, the cop turns to him, so, he can't smile like he wants.

Behind the sign, Pope clamps a hand over his mouth. As does Kie, who would deny it later on.

Okay, you want to play that card. Mateo thinks. "I-we weren't together!"

"We've been together for a year!"

"How was I supposed to know that?"

At this point, the two cops had paused, as had the owner of the building, looking at the scene in front of them in confusion. While Kie and Pope ran around the building to get the attention of thier friends.

"Okay, do something," Kie tells Pope. "Do something."

Pope pants. "Stand back," he picked up a rock.  And threw it, it didn't even hit the roof.

"How-how were you supposed to know that?" Castiel exclaimed, voice going high in a pitch tone of utter disbelief.  "We go on dates every week!"

"I thought we were hanging out!"

And Castiel can't believe this is the lie they were going with. It would have been find had Mateo not added in his 'clueless to being boyfriends act.'

"Okay, boys, you're going to have to go elsewhere," Shoupe says.

"Oh, like elsewhere to the lake where we are supposed to be!" Castiel yelled.

"Then let's go! You don't have to make a show of this."

"You didn't even know-"

"Boys!" Shoupe calls, trying to stop the argument. "Boys!"

"How was I supposed to know you knew-"

"BOYS!" Shoupe yelled, which caused for the two to stop, just so it didn't go over-board and actually get arrested.  "You have to take this elsewhere.  Or, if this is getting to get out of hand-"

"I just want a second opinion," Mateo says, and then catches a glimpse of Kie and Pope running back to the boat.  "You know what?  Fuck a second opinion. I'm sorry, look, let's just- let's go for a walk. And talk it out."

"Yes. Yes," the woman says, clearly having enough of the teen drama.

The two walked away, headed to the stairs. Which caused for Castiel to glance over at Mateo, who jerked his head in the other direction. Just in time to see Shoupe enter the room.

"What the hell?"
╰☆☆ ᚹᏒᛊᛠᛠᚴ Ƃᛜᚴ ☆☆╮

"You made me seem like an idiot! And a cheater!" Mateo argued with Castiel.

"Shouldn't you be more offended about being called a cheater?" Castiel asked.

After filling in the other four of the lie they built, which lead to them laughing, Mateo made it clear he would never do any of those. A be a cheater, and b, not be clueless to when he was dating someone.

"Well, that was fun," John B sarcastically speaks.

"Could have warned us a little sooner," JJ tells them.

"We would have, except Pope was on the math team," Kie says.

"You were on the math team?" JJ asked.

"The cops took everyone like it was a crime scene," John B spoke.

"You guys find anything?" Castiel asked, having thrown his legs over Mateo's.

"Did we find anything?" JJ asked, as he sits up. "No, I don't think so." He shoved his hands into his pockets, removing the items. "Oh, yeah, we did."

In JJ's hands, were a gun and a band of cash.

"What the fuck?!" Castiel exclaimed.

Mateo had dunked down, afraid JJ would accidentally make the gun go off. After all, he wasn't sure if the safety was on.

"What the hell?" Pope asked, standing up to look at the items.

"Dude, what?" Kie questioned.

"Dude, chill. Come on." JJ says, as he walked over to Pope.

"Why take from a crime scene?" Pope asked.

"It's better then the cops having it." JJ replied.

"That's debatable, the cops have a legal permit for their guns, do you?" Mateo asked.

"I'm gonna lose my merit a scholarship," Pope complains.

"Not if you don't get caught," Castiel speaks.

"Hey, hey, hey. Sh," JJ begins to hush Pope, wrapping an hand around the back of his neck. "At least you have us. Right?"

"I'm living the nightmare," Pope says.
╰☆☆ ᚹᏒᛊᛠᛠᚴ Ƃᛜᚴ ☆☆╮

"Are we just gonna follow them around?" Mateo asked.

"I offered to leave, Kie seemed to want us to," Castiel answered. "JJ said they need as much help to find out what the hell is going on. And John B seemed to argue with him."

Where they had gone, Castiel wasn't completely sure. Granted it was because he wasn't paying any attention to their destination, and instead was speaking with JJ.

"Who's that?" John b asked.

"It's Scooter Grubbs. He was out during the storm," a girl answered. "Check out this pic I got." She showed the image to John B.

She goes around the group, showing the picture of the dead body.

"What kind of boat did he have?" JJ asked.

"Somehow, that dirt bag copped a brand-new Grand-White. Everyone's out looking for it."

Not hard enough. Castiel thought, arms crossed. And to think the U.S, Coast Guard didn't listen to a word we were saying. At the very least, he would have thought that mentioning the boat would have gathered the attention of the man behind the desk.
╰☆☆ ᚹᏒᛊᛠᛠᚴ Ƃᛜᚴ ☆☆╮

"No, Pope said that everyone needed to be there," JJ says before Castiel could leave.

"I'm pretty sure he meant within your friend group," Castiel answered.

"What? We're not friends?" JJ asked in what seemed to be an offended tone.

"No?" He questioned, because honestly, Castiel didn't think he and JJ were friends. They hung out a few times, JJ had even managed to once get Castiel home when he was drunk. But, it wasn't as if they spent even one time a week together. "Kierra doesn't seem to want us there. And, same she is actually part of your friend group-"

"Well, I'm inviting you," JJ says as he wrapped an arm around the back of the brunette's neck.
╰☆☆ ᚹᏒᛊᛠᛠᚴ Ƃᛜᚴ ☆☆╮

Castiel sat next to JJ. And Mateo was sat to the left aside of Castiel. Which lead to Mateo being closed to Kierra. He swore that the girl gave him a slide-eyed glare. And he moved over, closer to Castiel. They had been waiting for Pope.

"So, Castiel," JJ speaks. Which caused for the brunette haired boy to turn to him. "you going to the party?"

Mateo bursted out laughing before Castiel could even open his mouth to reply. "Cas? Go to a party? You might as well ask him to chop of arm!"

Castiel gave his best friend a glare. "I don't really go to parties like that."

"Or in general," Mateo added.

"You should come," JJ tells him, still looking at Castiel.

Castile clocked his tongue before replying, thinking. "It's obvious that you're going, right?" He asked, despite knowing the answer.

JJ smiled in return. "Y-yeah. I'm going."

Kie rolled her eyes, as John B shook his head. And Mateo let out a laugh. Which has gotten him a confused look from Castiel. But, at both Kierra and John B's reaction, he thought about telling JJ he could go. That he has something to do, since it seemed neither of them wanted him there.

The door bursts open, Pope rushing in. "Okay so, um..we didn't see anything. We don't know anything. We need to have total and complete amnesia."

"Actually, Pope's right for once," JJ says. "See, I agree with you sometimes. Deny, deny, deny."

"Guys, we can't keep that money," Kie speaks up.

"Okay. Not all of us can afford unlimited data plans, Kiara." JJ tells the girl.

"We have to pass that off to Lana Grubbs. Otherwise it's bad karma."

"Bad Karma go be implicated in a felony, too," Pope spoke. "We gotta go dark."

"If that means we get to keep the money, then I agree," JJ says.

"I don't." John B puts a hand on JJ's shoulder momentarily.

"What? Why?"

"Okay. Are we really going to talk about this in front of them?" Kiera pointed to Castiel and Mateo. "Why are they even here?"

"This is Scooter Grubbs we're talking about," John B replied to JJ.  "Same dude thats's buying individual cigarettes at the Porthole. Shit, one time I saw this dude begging for change on the Save-A-Lot parking lot because he needed gas. We're taking about a dirtbag marina rat who's never had more then four ducks in his pocket, and all of a sudden, he's got a Grady-White? Just sayin'."

"Well, we can't just not include them, they saw us break into the room," Pope explained to Kiera.
╰☆☆ ᚹᏒᛊᛠᛠᚴ Ƃᛜᚴ ☆☆╮

"If anything, my dad's lawyer," Castiel says.

"We are aware," Kiera speaks.

Mateo gives the girl an annoyed look. "He means his dad offered to be the lawyer of whoever is his friend, if they get in trouble with the law. So, long as it isn't murder."

John B didn't seem to care for the offer. "All right, so think about it, Pope. How does a marina rat get a Grady-White?"

Pope inhaled sharply. "Prostitution."

"Square groupers, bro. Okay, flying under the radar no aerial surveillance. They don't do that stuff during a hurricane. What does that mean? JJ?"

"They were straight smugglin'," JJ answered.

"Smuggling," John B repeated. "And I guarantee there's a serious amount of contraband."

"Hell yeah."

"Fish on!" JJ exclaimed, pulling on the rein.
╰☆☆ ᚹᏒᛊᛠᛠᚴ Ƃᛜᚴ ☆☆╮

"For the record, if that smuggling ship would illegal contraband on the inside of it it probably belongs to someone else," Pope says.

"Probably a Kook, having a Pogue do the dirty work to not get caught, and have someone take the fall," Castiel says.

Which, had all of them then to him.

"What? Griffin did it, even tried to get me to take the fall, once he realized that up to a certain offense, he wouldn't be able to be bailed out." Castiel, taking about his birth father.   That was when he got caught, and arrested. Because he was an idiot, and tried to blame a drug selling operation on a twelve-year-old.

"They could come looking for it, that's the point," Pope says. "Taking it would be catastrophically stupid."

"Right. Well," JJ snatched the stack of money back. "stupid things have good outcomes all the time. All we need to do is figure out a way to get the cargo hold of that wreck. Until then, we just lay low. Just act normal."

"Right. And how exactly do we do that?" Pope asked.

"Kegger?" Kie suggested.
╰☆☆ ᚹᏒᛊᛠᛠᚴ Ƃᛜᚴ ☆☆╮

"Well, I just feel like I should bring something," Castiel says, as he opens up the trunk, moving to grab the keg from his trunk.

"Yeah. I can tell," Mateo says, looking at the few plastic bags in the trunk. "Come on, let's get the bags first and then come back for the keg."
╰☆☆ ᚹᏒᛊᛠᛠᚴ Ƃᛜᚴ ☆☆╮

"You brought a keg?" JJ asked.

"I didn't want to just show up with nothing," Castiel answered.

JJ has practically ran to help Castiel bring the keg over.   "I can tell."
╰☆☆ ᚹᏒᛊᛠᛠᚴ Ƃᛜᚴ ☆☆╮

Castiel had been mostly spending his time near either Mateo or JJ.   He didn't really actually speak to anyone else at the party.

JJ whistled to get his best friends attention. "John B."

"What're you doing?" John B laughs.

"Want it?" JJ extend the red solo cup.

"For me? Yeah, I'll take a sip,"

"Oh, wait. Hey, hey, Sarah!" JJ speak, as the girl and her boyfriend had bene about to last the two.

Castiel had gone off to fill his own red solo cup.

"So, JJ Maybank?" Mateo asked.

"JJ Maybank?" Castiel asked back, confused as to  the tone of his voice.  As if he was hinting at something.

"I hate you. I hate you," Mateo deadpanned, after a second of silence.

"What the hell did I do?" Castiel asked, face pulled in confusion.

"You are so stupid!"

"What did I do?" Castiel asked again, offended.

Only, Mateo starts laughing, loudly. To the point where he had doubled over and had placed an arm over his stomach.

Then he heard shouting, his head snapped up to see the commotion, but, he couldn't. As there was a large crowd in the way. "Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!"

Castiel and Mateo began to push their way thought the crowd. Momentarily struggling before Castiel sweeped someone's leg, who used this leg to kick Mateo backwards.  The boy feel to the ground with a thud, before Castiel grabbed Mateo's wrist, and pulled him through the crowd. Only to see Topper Thornton, standing in the ocean, knee deep, holding a struggling John B.

"What the fuck?" Castiel yelled out, as he ran forward.

Kelce ran forward, arms extended to stop Castiel. Castiel took his wrist, twisting it before he flipped Kelce over his shoulder.

JJ ran at Toper, then pressing the gun to the back of his head. Topper tensed, body freezing up at the metal pressed to his head. Everyone on the beach stoped, no longer chanting.

"Yeah, you know what the means. Your move, broski," JJ grounded out.

"Come on. Chill, dude!"

"JJ!" Sarah Cameron had her hand extended in a 'stop' motion.

"Chill!" Pope calls out.

People had already began to run.

"Stop! JJ!" Sarah yelled again.

"JJ!" Castiel yells. And, Mateo pulls Castiel back. "Drop the gun!"

"Put the gun down!" Sarah demanded.

"Did you say something', Princess? Pretty boy?"

"We're good. We're good," Topper pants out, terrified. He had let go of John.

"Put the gun down!" Sarah tells again.  "Kie! Can you check your psycho friend, please?"

"He was the one who was drowning John B!" Castiel argued with Sarah.

"Okay, everyone, listen up!" JJ yells. "Get the hell off our side of the island!" JJ then shots off two bullets into the sky.

Everyone who had yet to leave the island, screamed before running off.

"We need to go, Cas!" Mateo screams, before he begins to pull his friend off the beach.
╰☆☆ ᚹᏒᛊᛠᛠᚴ Ƃᛜᚴ ☆☆╮

"Pretty boy!" JJ smiled, when seeing Castiel on the lake.

Castiel ignored the mocking nickname. And lifted up the scuba gear.
╰☆☆ ᚹᏒᛊᛠᛠᚴ Ƃᛜᚴ ☆☆╮

Mateo refused to go scuba diving. Castiel later found it, it was because Mateo had brought the wrong size, it was a bit bigger. John B ended up taking the second suit.  Pope has decided to do some calculations. "That boat's about thirty feet down. So it'll take twenty fives at that depth. Which means you need to make your safety stop at about ten feet.  All right? For two minutes."

Kiera removed her shirt before she dived on.

"What was that all about?" Pope asked.

"I don't know, but i liked it. A lot," JJ says.  "Uh. So..."

"All righty." Pope lets out.

"Yeah. Uh, when you- uh, when you're down there, you look for a cargo hold.  You stick this thing inside and twist and pull, okay?" JJ tells John b.

"Stick in, twist, pull," John B repeats.

Mateo furrows his brows. "Are we still going in with the scuba gear?"

"I have no clue," Castiel replied

"Alright, keep an eye on this. You need to make sure you have enough air to decompress." Pope tells John B.

"Okay, how much do I need?"

"Unclear. Breathe as little as possible."

"Zen. Think Zen, you know?" JJ imitated breathing though a mask.

"Yeah. Got it," John B replied.

"Hey, if we get caught in the marsh, we're basically screwed, so...better get a move on." Pope says.

When Kie stands up, walking over to John B, and kissed him on the lips.

"Dover down?" John B asked after a second of silence.

"Diver down," John B then dived into the water.

"Where did you go, Cas?" JJ suddenly asked.

"What?" Castiel asked in confusion.

"The party, last night." JJ continued.

"The party in which you shot off a gun," Mateo speaks. "And told everyone to; 'get the hell off our side of the island'!" Mateo the raised a hand in the air mocking up a gun.

"Yeah, you told everyone to get off the beach," Castiel confirmed.

"I didn't mean you."

"Aw, how sweet," Mateo faked a cooing sound. Pope, and even though she would deny it, Kiera laugh.

A siren whooping sound, which caused all heads to snap up. Immediately, Castiel jumped into his boat, seemingly searching for something.

"Shit. JJ," Pope speaks.

"Guys, that's the police."

"Oh, you gotta be kidding me."

"Yep, that's the police," JJ says again.

"Hopefully it's Shoupe," Mateo speaks.

"Just act frickin' normal," Kiera says.

The police boat comes to stop.

"Evening officers," JJ greets.

"Evening," Shoupe replied.

"Shoupe," Mateo greets, brightly smiling.

"Here," Shoupe hands over the rope.

"JJ, tie this off," Pope orders.

"How you kids doing? You know the marsh is closed?" Shoupe asked.

"No."
"No. Wow."
"I didn't know that."
They all acted surprised.

"Yeah, sorry that's my fault," Castiel says. "I was out here yesterday but my boat broke down."

Mateo looked over, seeing that Castiel was pretending to check on a section of his boat. "Can you hand me the gasoline?"

Mateo looked around, then seeing, at the very edge of the boat, of the Pouge's boat was a gasoline can. Which was definitely not there a minute ago. JJ quickly picked up the van, handing it back over to Castiel. "W-why is it closed?"

"We're conducting a search out here," Shoupe revealed. Boat went down. See anything?"

"No." JJ answered.
"No boats. No," Pope shook his head.

"No. Sorry," Castiel spoke in a manner, that seemed he was genuinely sorry.

"No," Mateo had spoke after a second.

"Where's your friend you always hang with? He here?" Shoupe asks JJ, Pope and Kie.

"You mean Cas?" Mateo pretended to be confused.
"Mateo?" Castiel asked back, and the two pointed at each other.

They both knew he wasn't talking to them.

"He's working," Kie answers.

Shoupe hummed in reply. "I'm gonna check your little boat out."

Castiel furrowed his brows, thinking of casually mentioning both his fathers, the lawyer and FBI agent, but would that make them look suspicious?

"Yeah," JJ agrees for the deputy to hope into the boat.

"Yeah, hope aboard," Pope moved out of the way. "Come and check her out."

"Thank you."

"Uh... you got another one of these?" Shoupe asked as he held up a life vest.

"Yeah," JJ replied.
"Yeah, yeah," pope agreed

"Of course. It's, uh, it's in the hold," JJ says.
"Show him," Kie moved over.

"Yeah, here it is," JJ holds up the best.

"All right," Shoupe nods his head.  Then goes back to his boat, but paused and he walked along the edge of the pouge's boat.

"Be careful there, you don't want to slip," Pope tells him.

Shoupe stared at the water, getting close to the edge. He waited.

"Hey," Castiel calls out. "How long will the marsh be closed?"

Shoupe turned his back, turning to face the boy. "I can't tell you that, Cas." He heads back toward his boat. "Beautiful day, isn't it?"

"Sure is," Pope agrees. "Very."

"You let us know if you see anything on your way out." Shoupe days.

Pope salutes a hand to him. "Will do. Will do."

"We'll be gone soon, sir," JJ spoke.

"Yes you will," Shoupe replied before he left.

Immediately the friends head to the edge of the boat. "Definitely out of air," Pope stated.

John b popped his head out of the water. JJ laughed. "There he is!"

"Oh God! Jesus Christs!" Pope exclaimed. "Don't scare us like that!"

"How's it go down there?" JJ asked.

Castiel extended his hand to help John B to boat.

"Did you did anything?" JJ asked.

John B accepted the hand. "Did i find anything?" He brings up his other hand, tossing a bag.

"Yeha, there we go! That's my boy!" JJ smiled.

Castiel  pulled John B up. "You okay?"

"Yeah, ran out of air," John b pants.

"You scared the shit out of me," Kie speaks.

"Yeah, the cops were up here, but, uh...took care of 'em." Pope says

"My bad," John b says.

"You're all good."

"Yeah, you kinda missed the show, brother," JJ tells John b.

"Hey, guys? Guys, bogey, two o'clock." Kie says .

"What?"

"Do you recognize that boat?" Pope asked.

"I've never seen it," Kiera answered. "What are they doing here? The marsh is closed."

"Let's not stick around and find out," JJ says.

Mateo get into Castiel's boat, before the two start to leave. Only, JJ is still pulling up the anchor.

"Act natural. Act natural," Pope speaks.

The boat follows the two.

"Hey, guys, they're following us!" Kie exclaims.

"Would you shut up?!" Mateo snapped.

"This can't be good," Pope says.

"Dude, you gotta go faster," JJ tells John B.

"I'm going! I'm going!"

They turn, seeing the boat follow after them. And then, one of them grabs a gun.

"Mateo, take the wheel," Castiel calls out.

The man shoots at them. And they adunk down. Mateo quickly moved to the steering wheel, speeding up. "Forgot about your boat! Junk to ours!"

Castiel took out a red box, latching it, he scrambled in search of something. He picked up an object, the same shape of a gun. Kie there's something into the water, forcing thier bait to stop, just as Castiel fired off a round. The flare hit the spot in between the men, who feel off the edge of the boat, and into the water.

When they had gotta to the deck, Castiel paused, unsure if he should follow them.

"What do you think it is?" Kie asked.

"I don't know. It's gotta be money, right?" John b asked

"That or a couple of keys with a street value to the low-to mid-milfs!" JJ laughs.

"Can we please just open the bag?" Pope asked.

"Wow, pope. That's a rare outburst if emotion." John b says, before he turned to open said bag.

"You guys are literally killing me with anticipation." Pope says. "So open the bag. We almost died over this."

John b opened the bag, pulling out a canister. He momentarily struggling to open it, before he had, and flipped the container over, emptying the inside. In his hand, fell a compass.

"Oh, wow. Yep. That's about right," pope sarcastically says. "Good job everybody. We found a compass."

"Dude, what? It's it worth anything?" JJ questiones John b, who stared at the compass.

"This was my father's," John B breathed out.

And as Castiel stared at the scene in for of him, having not said a word, he thinks to himself; what the fuck did I just get myself into?
