3. New Persona

"Is he ready to go? I want to see pictures!"

Jungkook was already having a bad morning at the thought of the agonizing week that laid ahead of him. He was sitting on the couch in his living room with his legs crossed; a bowl of cereal in his hands. Jungkook lifted the lip of the bowl to sip the milk from it as Taehyung - who had showed up at his apartment at the crack of dawn to wake him - was having a FaceTime call with Hoseok and Jimin.

"He's not dressed yet. He's currently eating breakfast in a very unladylike position," said Taehyung as he looked over Jungkook's way. In response, Jungkook brought the cereal bowl away from his mouth, wrinkled his nose, and stuck his tongue out at Taehyung.

Taehyung wasn't phased by the response. He instead laughed and turned his head away from Jungkook again to focus his full attention on his two other best friends that were somehow able to both smush their faces into the same small camera frame.

"I'll send you both pictures when he's ready to go," assured Taehyung. "He'll be ready soon enough since the school is expecting him in two hours."

'I'm going to take full advantage of being a dude for two more hours then,' thought Jungkook as he put the now empty cereal bowl down before turning to lay on his back on the couch; dangling his legs over the edge of the arm rest as his eyes faced the ceiling.

"I wanna start a bet because I bet Kookie can't pull it off," came Jimin's boisterous voice from the video call.

"I'm still in the same room you doofus! Thanks for the support!" shouted Jungkook from where he laid. With his legs dangling over the arm rest of the couch, Jungkook decided to spread them apart, manspreading while he was still able to.

"I bet my lucky flip flops that he won't be able to do it," piped up Hoseok, ignoring Jungkook.

"Gross! I don't want your filthy flip flops!" said Jimin. "Bet something else."

"You are just saying that because you've never been lucky so you don't appreciate lucky things when you see them," said Hoseok.

"I bet that Jungkook will be able to do it," broke in Taehyung. "And if he can't, I'll dye my hair whatever color you want."

"You mean you'll make it salmon pink if you lose?" asked Jimin.

"Whatever color you want," said Taehyung. "If I lose, which I won't."

Jungkook sat up, looking over at Taehyung as he said, "You're insane. All three of you are."

Taehyung looked over at Jungkook, cracking a small smile.

"Yes, but I know that you love all of us so much," said Taehyung; Jungkook getting up and walking towards his bedroom, waving a fist at him on the way by.

Taehyung chuckled, turning his attention back to Hoseok and Jimin on the video call.

"I should get going now. I'll send pictures soon. I've gotta get the superstar ready for his big day."

Taehyung hung up on the call before walking over to Jungkook's bedroom, opening the door without knocking. Jungkook was lying on his stomach on the bed; a pillow sandwiched over his head.

"Get up sunshine! Time to dawn your new persona!" said Taehyung as he walked over to Jungkook and slapped him playfully on the behind. "We need to have time to make sure you're well packed too."

"I don't even know what I'll call myself..." came Jungkook's mumbled voice from beneath the pillow.

"I've already thought of that for you when I called the school the other day. Your new name will be Jeon Aera."

Jungkook removed his pillow from about his head when Taehyung stated the name for his new female identity. Sitting up, Jungkook looked at Taehyung who had moved to start laying out Jungkook's outfit on the other side of the bed.

"Why do I have a feeling you've been thinking about making me do something this ridiculous for a while?"

Taehyung chuckled, shrugging his shoulders.

"I like being creative with my ultimate truth or dares, so yes. I was thinking about this for a while though Jimin or Hoseok very well could have been Aera too. You were just the lucky one."

Jungkook wasn't sure if he believed that. He still figured that this was revenge for the boxer run he made Taehyung do, but decided to let the matter drop as Taehyung gestured towards the navy blue uniform he'd laid out.

"Go try this on while I pack your bag. I'll help you with the makeup and extensions when you come out."

Jungkook got up from the bed and walked to grab the uniform in his hands before walking into the bathroom and shutting the door behind him.

"Time to woman up," said Jungkook to himself in the bathroom mirror, coaching himself into the clothes he would be wearing for the week to come.

After Jungkook was completely made up to look like a woman, Taehyung drove him towards the all girls school in the car that Jimin had let him borrow. The whole drive, Jungkook kept his arms crossed; his body slouched on the tan pleather seats. Taehyung looked over at Jungkook every once in while to see how he was doing, making him practice talking in a high pitched feminine tone to get into the routine of it. Taehyung soon came to a stop outside the school gates. Two black iron gates towered in front of the vehicle; a square security box built into the stone pillar off to the left. Just before he pressed the buzzer, Taehyung glanced over at Jungkook again to see that he was manspreading in the seat next to him; his skirt stretched to its max. Taehyung reached over a hand to slap Jungkook's thigh.

"Sit like a lady!" hissed Taehyung as Jungkook glared over at him, but obeyed. Jungkook sat up on the seat, pressing his legs together and making sure the skirt laid neatly over his knees.

Taehyung rolled his eyes as he turned back to look at the security box, pressing the buzzer. When a security officer had asked him to state his business, Taehyung introduced himself as Jungkook's brother and said he was there to drop his sister off at the school as a new student. Soon after Taehyung's introduction, a loud mosquito worthy buzz sounded out through the air and the two of them were able to drive past the gates as they swung open. Jungkook swiveled his head as Taehyung drove up the drive to watch the gates slowly creak shut behind them.

"I feel like you're driving me onto the set of a horror movie," said Jungkook as he turned back around.

"And you call me dramatic," said Taehyung with an eye roll, parking his car along the curb. "Now smarten up. I'm gonna go in and get the paperwork, and then it's showtime for you."

Jungkook nodded, watching Taehyung practically bounce out of the vehicle with a spring to his step. He watched Taehyung until he disappeared inside the building. Once Taehyung was no longer in view, Jungkook reached up to put the visor down to look in the mirror at his reflection again. His make up clad face - topped with his ruby red stained lips - stared back at him.

"There's the horror movie..." he muttered to himself. "I'm the star."

Jungkook's fingers drifted up to the hair extensions that Taehyung had pinned and layered in his hair in such a way that they were unnoticeable.

"This is ridiculous and will never work..." he muttered to himself; noticing that Taehyung was returning with the papers out of the corner of his eye but refusing to stop his fiddling.

"Success! You are in, Jeon Aera, " stated Taehyung as he slipped into the driver's seat, slamming the door shut before putting the papers on Jungkook's lap. "You are officially a new member of the school and they are eagerly awaiting your arrival!"

He noticed that Jungkook wasn't saying anything and was instead zoning out and playing with his extensions.

"Stop fooling with things!" sassed Taehyung as he moved to slap Jungkook's hand down onto his lap. "I said that you looked good to go so stop trying to mess things up!"

"This is dumb, Taehyung," said Jungkook as he folded his hands over the papers on his lap. "What if I get caught?"

"Stop worrying so much! It's only for a week. I think that you can last a week without being caught, don't you? And besides, the fate of my hair is now in your hands."

Taehyung paused for a second, and when Jungkook still didn't say anything, he continued.

"Just be happy you're a pretty boy. You'll make a convincing enough woman."

"Thanks," muttered Jungkook.

Jungkook felt a tightness in his chest as his nerves started to kick in again. He didn't want to think about the possibility of being arrested for disguising himself as a woman to attend an all girls school. He couldn't imagine what that would look like on his record. He reached up a hand to adjust the bra that he was currently wearing; two washcloths shoved in each cup to make it look like he had a bosom.

"Now take those papers and be a good girl," said Taehyung with a smile. "I'll be back in a week to fetch you. I can't wait to hear all about it."

"I really hate you," said Jungkook as Taehyung put a hand over his heart as if what Jungkook just said warmed it.

Jungkook rolled his eyes as he stepped out of the car, wobbling a bit on the sidewalk in the wedges his feet were currently shoved into. He sighed as he grabbed a backpack and duffel bag out of the back seat, looking towards the massive school building that stood before him once he slammed the car door shut.

As Jungkook walked towards the school with the papers he needed in hand, he had no idea that pretending to be a woman for a week was going to end up being the least of his problems.
