Chapter 6
Chapter 6
●●●
Jungkook did not go to Taehyung's place. It was already late, and as usual as their sleepovers used to be in the past, dating was a bit different and Jungkook knew sleeping over was not an option because it would have been pure torture.
Also, he really wanted to take things slow with Taehyung. Appreciate every small step. He was more than serious about Taehyung. Which was why he spent the next couple of weeks texting Taehyung, who was a lot busier due to his job than expected and sometimes, when their schedule lined up, he picked him up from work and took him out to dinner or something along the lines.
It didn't take long and both of them were just as close as they used to. But something Jungkook felt was off was that, besides that day when he confessed, Taehyung and him hadn't kissed even once. Taehyung would peck Jungkook's cheek as a way of saying thanks or goodbye, but nothing more.
And Jungkook was a patient guy. Especially when it came to Taehyung, but he couldn't help but wonder why that was. They pretty much were back to being best friends.
Sighing he tapped the steering wheel. As much as dating Taehyung made him happy, it also made him anxious. How much was normal? Weren't they pretty much just friends if they continued like this?
Jungkook had dated before. He always put an effort into being a good boyfriend who made his partner happy, but he always messed up and that was because, as much as he would have wished he could have changed it, even after all those years Jungkook's feelings for Taehyung never went away. This made itself noticeable for example in the fact that Jungkook's whole type was based around Taehyung.
Guy looked somewhat alike? Jungkook thought he was attractive. The guy was small? Seemed innocent? Slightly nerdy? Jungkook would feel himself drawn to them, but he never actually fell for them. And he felt really bad about that, but he had absolutely no control over his feelings. But that wasn't the point. Even in those kind of messed up relationships one thing or another usually led to sex. Usually within the time span of a month or something, and from what it looked like at the moment they weren't even nearing that stadium in their relationship.
Hell, Taehyung had promised showing Jungkook his apartment for the first time and cooking for him. And Jungkook was more than happy about this. He wasn't even bothered by not having sex. It just... bothered him because he didn't know what that meant. Was Taehyung not attracted to him after all? Were his feelings platonic after all? Did he just mistake how close they were for feelings? Jungkook didn't know and he had never been in this type of situation.
Both of them were over 25 at this point after all. Waiting for months was high school bullshit. Usually nothing happening for such a long time meant problems. Or was he overreacting? He really couldn't tell.
He groaned, dropping his head onto the steering wheel, startling himself by triggering the horn. Sighing he started the radio and glanced out the windshield soft music, filling the cramped space of his car. It looked like it was about to rain. Checking his phone, he realized Taehyung was about five minutes late, but at that exact moment the door of the building in front of him swung open, the sky simultaneously unleashing heavy, unforgiving rain.
Taehyung seemed caught off guard and quickly ran over to Jungkook's car, swiftly moving inside. "Sorry for being late. The photographer wasn't content with the end product so he asked for a couple of additional pictures." Taehyung explained, running his hand through his hair, checking how wet it was.
"It's alright. You look good." Taehyung had dyed his hair to a light brown and it really looked good on him. Especially since it was styled slightly curlier than usual. The man blushed before showing his rectangular smile. "Thanks."
"So, your place?"
Taehyung nodded, smiling happily, before supporting his elbow on the edge of the window and looking outside at how the rain was slowly changing the way the street looked. Jungkook had a stupid idea. He grabbed his phone, connecting it with the car's boxes via Bluetooth before choosing the one song Taehyung had admitted to producing with one of his friends.
"No. You can't, please don't do that to me. I hate my voice." Taehyung complained, trying to turn the volume down when 4 o'clock started playing.
Jungkook stopped him. "Well, I love it? Do you really wanna stop me from listening to something that really makes me happy?" Raising one eyebrow he was looking at Taehyung, who pressed his lips into a thin line before clicking his tongue ever so silently and turning around to look out the window again.
There was a short moment of just the music setting the mood and Jungkook finally starting the car, before Taehyung awkwardly cleared his throat. "Do you really like it?" His voice was soft and he didn't even look at Jungkook, but even from where he was sitting Jungkook could see how red Taehyung's ears were.
"Yeah. It's amazing, actually. Soothing and just pleasant to listen to."
"Thanks." Taehyung didn't say anything else all the way back, but it wasn't an uncomfortable silence. They were both enjoying the silence and the sound of the rain hitting the windows of the car.
When they got out, they hurriedly moved to run to the multistory building. It pretty much screamed rich but Jungkook wasn't surprised. Modeling on the level where Taehyung was just made you a lot of money.
They walked through the lobby before taking the elevator up to the 27th floor. They went through a hallway before finally stopping in front of one of the doors. Taehyung typed in his passcode and the door unlocked.
As much money as Jungkook had due to his job, he knew for a fact that he would never be able to pay for the type of apartment they entered. It was a filled with designer furniture and instead of a wall there were huge windows on one side of the room.
But even in the minimalistic designed apartment it was easy to tell that it was Taehyung living here rather than anyone else. There were pictures of their high school days plastered all over the place, the couch was filled with soft pillows and blankets. A lot more than one person should need. A Nintendo switch was connected to the television as well as a Wii U.
Jungkook instantly felt home in this place and it was just the living room. Taehyung took his jacket and dropped it onto one of the seats placed around the dining table. "Get comfortable. What do you want to have for dinner?"
"What do you have is the better question."
Taehyung seemed a bit lost. "No idea actually. I usually make myself meal preps at the beginning of the week." Taehyung admitted. "I could give you one."
Jungkook hesitated. "If it isn't too much of a hassle."
"Absolutely not. It's my fault for not buying ingredients before inviting you over." Taehyung chuckled.
If Taehyung had changed since high school, it probably was how independent he was now. He used to need Jungkook to even tie his shoe laces and now he was living a life of his own. Saying that Jungkook didn't feel sad that he couldn't take care of Taehyung anymore would have been a lie, but he was also happy that Taehyung no longer was as helpless as he used to. "Just because you didn't do your best at planning this thing through doesn't mean you have to let me eat your pre planned food."
Taehyung's eyes formed into slits as he smiled at Jungkook. "It really is alright. Nothing to worry about." He opened the fridge, grabbing two Tupperware boxes filled with a lot of greens, carrots and a bit of chicken.
"Are you on a diet?" Jungkook asked when Taehyung handed him the box.
"The usual that comes with modeling. Although I mainly just try to eat healthy." He explained, dropping into the seat next to Jungkook, pushing a fork into his direction. The food was already cut in a way that made it easy to eat.
Humming in understanding Jungkook started eating. The food was a bit plain the way it was, but it actually did taste pretty good. The main problem appeared when he was done eating. He was nowhere even near full.
"Do you always eat this little?" Jungkook asked and Taehyung looked up, still halfway through the meal. "Yeah?" The male sounded slightly confused as to why Jungkook was asking.
"Are you underweight? Sorry if that's out of line to ask. You don't have to answer." Jungkook quickly added. Taehyung had felt really light for how tall he was, but Jungkook hadn't really thought more about it.
Taehyung bit his lip looking down at his fork. "I don't know. I don't weight myself." He admitted, pushing his food around. Jungkook frowned in worry.
"Is there a reason you eat this little?"
Taehyung simply shrugged his shoulders, not looking up, probably really uncomfortable with the questioning.
"Taehyung. Please tell me. I'm sure you have your reasons. I'm not judging you. I just want to know because I care about you."
There was hesitation before Taehyung closed his eyes, sighing. "I just have been feeling pretty awkward, bulky and kind of heavy ever since I got taller. It's not really my body. Just that I feel way too huge. Eating less at least helps a bit with that." He admitted, rubbing his arm nervously.
"Would you be alright if I look at your body? Like upper body. I always see you in wide pullovers and stuff. If that makes you uncomfortable that's alright." Jungkook suggested, placing his hand on Taehyung's shoulder.
Taehyung shook his head. "It's alright. I mean, you'll see me without a shirt sooner or later anyways."
A weight was taken off his shoulders. Apparently Taehyung did assume that they were going to do more sooner or later. Jungkook didn't really mind waiting.
Quickly scanning Jungkook's face Taehyung got up from his seat, before hesitantly pulling his sweater over his head. Jungkook could tell that he was trying his hardest not to shield his body from Jungkook's view. Instead he just stood there, an awkward blush creeping onto his cheeks as Jungkook scanned over his chest and stomach.
Maybe in a different situation Jungkook would have taken in the sigh of Taehyung and completely enjoyed it, but right now he was too worried to fanboy over the fact that he finally got to see Taehyung's body. Taehyung was worryingly thin. Thin waist, the outlines of his rips were the slightest bit visible. Not that badly, but it was clear that Taehyung should be eating more than he was.
"What is it?" Jungkook realized that he must have been staring for a good minute and quickly looked back up at Taehyung's face, who looked rather uncomfortable.
He quickly got up from his seat letting the pullover fall and cover the boy's body again before pulling Taehyung into a small hug and placing a few pecks on his forehead and nose. "You look really pretty. I'm just a bit worried because your rips are showing. I know you don't like eating more and you do look amazing the way you do now, but so would you if you ate more. You're neither bulky nor heavy so you really have no reason to worry about it. Look..." Jungkook wrapped his arms around Taehyung's waist, lifting him easily. "You're like a feather. You still will be even if you eat a bit more." Jungkook tried and felt Taehyung happily wrap his arms around him.
"You think so?" Taehyung's voice was light and Jungkook almost didn't hear him.
"Yeah. You're so pretty." Jungkook put Taehyung's feet back onto the ground before pushing the boy's hair out of his eyes, staring at him from short distance. "You really are."
There was blush spreading over Taehyung's cheeks but he kept up the eye contact as if he was waiting for something. When Jungkook looked at him questioningly the boy pouted. "Kiss."
A warm smile spread over Jungkook's features and he quickly leant down, capturing Taehyung's lips in a soft kiss. It wasn't really a kiss. There was no movement of lips or anything like that, but it felt great in its own way.
They broke apart and Taehyung was completely red. A question came to Jungkook's mind. Something he probably should have asked a lot earlier but didn't get the chance to. "Taehyung... have you dated before?"
Turning completely red Taehyung shook his head before burying his face in his hands. Jungkook couldn't help but coo at him. Now the fact that Jungkook felt like they were not getting anywhere made a lot more sense. Of course things took a lot longer when the other person had no experience whatsoever.
And again, Jungkook really didn't mind waiting.
