28 - This Will Not Break Them.
Jungkook looked up at the sound of the front door opening. Hoseok looked like he'd been through the wringer. His hair looked disheveled, clothes hastily put on cause the Hobi that Jungkook knows, will never wear such mismatched clothes.
"That bad huh?" Jungkook asked in what he hoped to be a nonchalant voice but he could see that Hoseok saw through that.
"Well, it's certainly not one of my best mornings." Hoseok answered in a tired voice, as he sat down on the sofa facing Jungkook's armchair.
"Hmm.. same." Jungkook gently ran his hand over the hand rest of the chair. "Quick question. Would a love chair be suitable for the living room? Or is it more of a bedroom item?"
Hoseok looked at Jungkook and blinked a few times. "L-love chair?"
"Yeah, I've been thinking about buying one lately."
"For the love of God-" Hoseok exclaimed, "Please keep it in the bedroom. I don't want to accidentally see you two going at it on a sex chair!"
"It's called a love chair. For, you know, lovers to sit on." Jungkook's eyes twinkled with mischief.
"It's a sex chair for people to fuck in different and sometimes freaky positions."
Hoseok and Jungkook stared at each other for a few seconds before bursting out in laughter. It took about a minute for them to calm down and catch their breath.
"Oh man!" Hoseok wiped the tear drops that had fallen on his cheeks due to laughing too much. "This is just exactly what I needed."
Jungkook gave a soft smile at that. "It's the least I could do, hyung, after making this much trouble. But I was serious about the love chair too."
"Like I said, please keep it in the bedroom."
Jungkook nodded in agreement. He watched as Hoseok looked around at the apartment, already sensing the question.
"Where's Taehyung?"
Jungkook shrugged his shoulders, indicating it's not a big deal. But Hoseok saw the subtle glance the idol sent toward his phone and the not so subtle worry in his eyes.
"He has a photo shoot today?" Jungkook winced when it came out as a question. He didn't want Hoseok to know but it has been a while since Taehyung informed Jungkook about his schedule. And vica versa.
"Oh."
"Yeah, I don't think he knows about it yet." Jungkook looked at his phone again. "Or I would have had an ear-ful."
Hoseok didn't doubt that. Actually it was the main reason that he didn't reprimand Jungkook as well, assuming Taehyung had already done it.
This is not the first time Jungkook's cousin made trouble for him. Hoseok had to clean up many problems created by Kai, both before and after Jungkook's rise to fame. He hadn't known Jungkook would meet Kai yesterday. Jungkook only said that he's going for a drive when he asked for the vehicle without the driver. If Hoseok had any idea, he would never let Jungkook out of his sight.
"So, what happened to that article?"

Taehyung was almost done with his photo shoot. It was for a brand that he is endorsing, something that he personally likes. During the photo shoot, he couldn't help but notice the small pockets of gossiping, people being on their phones more than usual and Jimin's worried face. The manager even went out to answer a few calls that seemed rather important. So the first thing Taehyung did after wrapping up the shoot, was to check his phone.
It didn't take him long at all to find out what the buzz was about. And even less time for his mind to get clouded with anger and frustration. He barely managed to keep his expression normal when the director praised his photos and talked about a few other related things. As soon as it was done, Taehyung walked out of the set, changed his clothes and ordered a confused Jimin to take him home as soon as possible.
During the entire ride home, Taehyung didn't say a single word. He just stared out of the window, with his lips set tight. And Jimin was sure that his eyes would have looked murderous too, only he wasn't able to see it due to the sunglasses.
As soon as they reached Taehyung's apartments, Taehyung got out and walked towards the private elevator. Normally, Jimin would just go home. But something about Taehyung's behavior worried Jimin so he followed the actor, thinking he might keep the latter company for sometime.
But to his surprise, Taehyung didn't get down on his own floor but that of Jungkook's. Jimin had about a second to admire Taehyung's concern for his co-star because in the next second, his mouth opened wide in shock, seeing the actor aggressively punching the security code of Jungkook's apartment.
Taehyung stormed in, barely registering the fact that Jimin was following him. He gave once over to the living room, and Hoseok, who sprang up from the sofa he was sitting on.
"Tae-"
"-Is he in his room?"
Taehyung made a move to walk towards Jungkook's bedroom but Hoseok swiftly blocked him. "This might not be a good idea right now, Tae."
"I'll decide whether it's a good idea or not-"
Taehyung stopped talking and looked at the restraining palm over his chest. Hoseok had his arm stretched out in front, physically stopping Taehyung from going further.
"Hobi-" Taehyung's voice dropped an octave lower. "Get your hand off of me!"
But Hoseok stood his ground and shook his head. "I'm sorry, Tae, but he's my priority."
"To hell with your-"
Taehyung stopped what he was about to say, when he heard the bedroom door opening. Jungkook came out, his eyes widening in surprise and he walked faster, as soon as he saw Taehyung and Hoseok.
"What's going on here?"
Taehyung pushed Hoseok's hand away and walked towards Jungkook. "I should be the one to ask that. What were you thinking?!"
Jungkook closed his eyes for a few seconds and tried to calm down his heart. "Tae please, not now."
But Taehyung was so far drowned in anger and worry to recognise the subtle pleading in that voice. "I told you not to talk to him. You promised me. Are you trying to sabotage your career?!"
"Of course not! Why would you think-"
"Then why? Why the fuck would you go and meet him in the dead of the night?!"
At this point, Jungkook was starting to get angry too. He had been worried, scared and wanting to hear some comforting words from the person he loves. And instead, he got yelled at. With the way Taehyung was screaming those questions and glaring at him, Jungkook knew that the latter was not exactly seeking answers. He's just venting his anger.
Guess Jungkook can do that too.
"I didn't have a choice, Tae!" Jungkook raised his voice in frustration. "He said he had some information that he would release to the media if I didn't come to meet him."
"You know he's bluffing. He's always bluffing-"
"From high-school!" Jungkook's voice cracked at the end. "He had something from high-school. What if he-"
"Every. damn. time." Taehyun ran his fingers through his hair a few times. "You know what kind of an asshole he is. Why can't you just listen to me?"
Jungkook sucked his breath in, cause that felt like a punch to the gut. He knew exactly what Taehyung was implying by that.
Taehyung on the other hand, realized what he blurted out, only after the words left his mouth. He could see the hurt in Jungkook's eyes, as well as the moisture that was starting to gather in it. That was enough to dim the anger in his heart for a bit to see things clearly..
"I'm sorry-"
"Oh no no," Jungkook quickly cut the other's words off, waving a hand in front of him. "I'm the one who's sorry for trying to stop our careers from getting ruined. I'm the one who should apologize for having despicable relatives, who's trying to blackmail me into giving them money. I'm the one who's always getting into trouble, making others around me clear the mess that I created with my stupid head and stupid emotions and- a-and my stupid insecurities-"
Taehyung quickly grabbed Jungkook from his arms and pulled him onto his chest. "Okay.. okay, calm down. I'm sorry-"
"Let me go."
"Baby, please calm down-"
Jungkook pushed Taehyung swiftly, with enough force to make the latter stumble a few steps back. He is always so docile with Taehyung, that the latter often forgets how strong he is.
Both his body and mind.
"Get out!" The moisture in Jungkook's eyes finally made its way down his cheek. "I don't want to see your face. Fucking get out of my house!"
He didn't wait to see Taehyung leaving, and just turned on his heel and walked away. The banging sound of the bedroom door closing echoed through the apartment.
"Oh my!"
Taehyung turned around at sound, only to see Jimin standing with wide eyes and a palm covering his mouth tightly. They stared at each other for a few seconds before Taehyung looked back at the bedroom door for one last time. He was trying to decide whether to push it some more or give Jungkook little space. He chose the second option, knowing that if Jungkook and him were to talk right now, it's gonna be a shouting match.
And he definitely didn't want to make things worse than they currently are. So he left, shaking his head when Jimin made a move to follow him out. He can't deal with Jimin's questions now.
"Are those two?"
Hoseok rubbed his forehead with his fingers, trying to soothe the ache there. "Yep, they are together. Had been for many years now. And yes, they are currently going through a bit of a rough patch and no, they will not break up due to this."
"Oh." Jimin looked back and forth at the bedroom door and main door, pointing to the same with his finger too. "But that looked pretty.."
Hoseok chuckled without any humor. "Oh trust me, nothing can break these two. They are like those star-crossed lovers in romance stories."
Hoseok walked over to where Jimin was standing awestruck and extended his hand for a shake.
"Welcome to the Taekook protection squad, Park Jimin. I'm the president, you can be my second in command."
