25 - Open And Honest..

Taehyung's mind has been a mess lately. After the small argument he had with Jungkook at his trailer the other day, the latter was avoiding him. Returning late at night, leaving before breakfast and not having lunch with the rest of the cast at the set were just a few of the examples. When asked, Jungkook just said that he's busy with work. What work, he didn't specify. Once, he went as far as implying Taehyung doesn't know about idol life and after that, Taehyung didn't have the heart to ask.

When asked about why Jungkook doesn't have lunch with others in the drama set, he simply said that he's on a special diet. And that he might feel tempted when he saw others eat, so he'd rather eat alone in the trailer. This was a convincing reason so Taehyung believed it. Until last night, when he saw Jungkook making 2 packets of Ramen at the dead of the night.

The man is clearly not on any diet.

He wanted to talk to Jungkook. Communication has always been a strong trait of their relationship. They wouldn't have survived being in secret otherwise. But this time, Taehyung feels afraid to confront the problem. And if he had been honest with himself, he knows what that reason is too..

Sana..

How can he ask Jungkook to be open and honest, when he hasn't been either for sometime now. Taehyung knows pretty much the major contributor for his and Jungkook's quarrels is her, although it's with no fault of her own. If they had been truthful with each other, and with her, none of these would have happened.

It's absurd to even think that he and Jungkook let an issue, which is not even a real issue to them, be an obstacle in their relationship.

"Oppa!"

A loud calling of his name was what pulled Taehyung out of his thoughts. "Hey, Sana."

"I called you a few times." Sana complained with a mock pout. "Where did you get lost in?"

Taehyung softly smiled. "Nowhere. What's up?"

"Oppa, I need a big favor from you."

Sana's eyes were shining like stars, while her voice sounded dipped in shyness.

"A favor?"

"Yeah. I.. uhh.. I was thinking..  uhhh.. maybe I could have dinner with Jungkook oppa today. But I'm too scared to ask him."

"Uhhh…" Taehyung was speechless for a few seconds. "What does that have to do with me-"

"Please.. Taehyung Oppa.. can you suggest the 3 of us have dinner together, and maybe leave saying you have some emergency? Please, please, please…"

"Sana, I don't think it's wise-"

"Please.. I already booked a place and it'll have full security. No chance of a photo getting leaked." The girl's eyes looked a little glossy, making Taehyung instantly panic. "I won't ask anything else from you. I just need one chance to speak with Jungkook oppa alone. But he's not even looking at me!"

Honestly speaking, that was the only good thing about Jungkook distancing himself from the rest of the cast. Taehyung actually saw Sana try to make small talk with Jungkook but the latter always excuses himself as soon as the shot is finished. He doesn't spare a glance at neither Sana nor Taehyung.

"Please, please.. say yes!"

Jungkook didn't mean to interrupt. He had gotten used to filtering out the interactions of his two co-stars. Mainly because it just makes him so jealous and angry. And Taehyung and him are anyway on thin ice these days, he'd rather not make things worse. Jungkook just wants this damn drama to end, before it ends their relationship.

But now, Sana was holding Taehyung's hand, while showing him her famous puppy eyes. The very same eyes she used to get her way around the set. One look at that pout, and everyone rushes to give the girl whatever she wants. Everyone thinks it's adorable, but Jungkook had to disagree. Specially when those eyes are directed at his own boyfriend.

Not cool at all.

Which is why, he was now walking towards the duo, when he worked so hard to avoid them both in the past few days.

"What's going on here?" Jungkook meant for his voice to sound intimidating and was glad when he got the desired reaction from them.

Taehyung looked worried and Sana looked mortified. And the conversation stopped abruptly, which is what Jungkook was after.

"Nothing." Taehyung was quick to answer.

He glanced at Sana, praying to Gods above for her to keep her mouth shut, but of course, the girl thought it to be an encouragement to put forth her idea.

"A-actually.. uhh.. we were.. uhhh.. we were thinking about getting dinner together." Sana's voice wavered a few times but she managed to complete her sentence. "All 3 of us?"

Jungkook blinked a few times before briefly glancing at Taehyung. This was not what he imagined they were talking about. "Uhh.."

"I know the perfect place, it'll be completely safe." Sana sounded very eager, now that she didn't get the immediate rejection she was dreading. "Please, Jungkook Oppa, it'll be fun."

Jungkook shifted uneasily from one leg to another.. "I'll… uhh.. I need to check my schedule. I'll let you know, okay?"

"Sure."

Now in all honesty, Jungkook was nor planning to go. At all. With his current state of mind, only a few minutes were all Jungkook could tolerate from Sana's company. Having dinner with the girl was unthinkable at this point. And Taehyung… Well, let's just say that right now, it's not a pleasant company either.

Jungkook got held up at the set a little later than the others because Yoongi wanted to have a chat about tomorrow's scene. By the time he was done, both Sana and Taehyung had left. Jungkook was just about to send her a text, explaining that he has a prior appointment later this afternoon and that he can't come for dinner, when he got a message from Taehyung.

"Sana wants to have a date. Don't come to the dinner."

Jungkook stared at the little tiger icon which is how he had saved the contact number of that message. He stared at it till his eyes got blurred with moisture. Jungkook hastily wiped his eyes, before giving a chance to tear drops, which he couldn't decide because of anger or sadness.

The audacity of Taehyung to send a message, asking to give him privacy to go on a date with someone else, seemed like an unbelievable joke. Like one of those tik-tok challenges. While Jungkook knew very well that Taehyung absolutely despised those stupid trends, it made a much better explanation than what seemed to be happening now.

Well, if Taehyung had the guts to send a text like that, guess he would have the guts to tell it to Jungkook's face. Because for the first time in this whole mess, Jungkook was absolutely done. He picked up his phone and typed a message to Sana

"Got held up with something. I'll be there in 20. Please order an iced Americano for me too."

Taehyung was feeling uneasy. It was the feeling when he messed up something big, but can't exactly pinpoint it is. He wanted to call Jungkook but Sana accompanied him to the restaurant, making it difficult to do so. He managed to send a text though, while Sana was choosing beverages. And Taehyung was hoping to cut the dinner a little short too as he was eager to go back to Jungkook, to give him that explanation which was long overdue.

He noticed the 3 drinks, only when it was brought to their table. He instantly matched their two orders, which left an extra Iced Americano.

"Who's the 3rd drink for?"

"Huh?" Sana looked confused, as if she's confused about the question. "For Jungkook of course."

Taehyung wasn't sure why Jungkook didn't inform Sana about taking a raincheck for dinner. He was just about to ask, when a sound approaching footsteps stopped his words.

He turned about to see Jungkook walking towards their table. The idol had an impassive face, as he sat down opposite of Sana.

"Am I late?" He asked in an even voice, and gave a small smile to Sana.

"Not at all." Sana beamed from ear to ear. "But I don't know whether we should have dinner today or not. Taehyung oppa just got a call for an emergency."

Jungkook blinked a few times. He turned to look at Taehyung, his eyes showing genuine concern this time.

Anger and jealousy makes a person be so very petty. That's the only explanation Taehyung could give to the way he behaved next.

"Yeah, I have to go to the office right now it seems."

"W-what are you-"

Taehyung got up from his chair, effectively shutting Jungkook up mid sentence.

"You guys should enjoy it. We can surely have one again with all 3 of us."

Sana quickly assured him that they definitely can, while Jungkook stayed frozen. With one last glance at Jungkook, Taehyung could definitely see the confusion, hurt and panic in those starry eyes.

And he decided to ignore it just like Jungkook decided to ignore his message.
